ambience, friendly reception, decor , loved the unusual historical location Subway very convenient also supermarket
It is a lovely and tidy house close to the subway. We enjoyed the fact living in a house - having bedrooms upstairs and living room with small kitchen downstairs. - not a "cold" hotel room.
It is not a place to be walking around in the neighbourhood at night.
We found the Sylvan Guest House clean, comfortable and in a very pretty little street. Despite Harlem's reputation, the area wasn't unsafe or dangerous. The landlady was polite and helpful. Even taking us to the local shop to get a few beers! It's also convenient for the Subway, with downtown being about 20minutes train journey.
The apartment was comfortable, close to transport and safe. The owner was very helpful and made us feel welcome.Staying at this location meant we were able to see more of New York and this location gave us a greater appreciation of this fantastic city.
Very close to the metro and supermarket. The owner is kind also the neighbours were really nice with us. Totally freedom about the hours because you've al the keys you want. The home has everything you need to sleep and cook. There's tv.
Porblems with the deposit, they don't give you money back by cash because of tax. No air conditionating.
