The room was very well done, it's beautiful and a real retreat from the city.
The area is quite confronting and scary for those new to New York and has a long way to go to improve. However we had no problems and were safe to a degree.
The room was clean. Easy to accses the subway.
There was a lot of noise (from the adjacent streets). We had to check in late and that was more problematic (we were OK but it took 2 phone calls). There is an extra charge for "late" check in. The room was hot and it took 24 h to get the temperature down. The air conditioning unit is small and noisy. No elevators (be prepared to go up the stairs with the luggage).
The location was great just 1 block from the Subway, the main bed was comfortable, the security was good, the operator was friendly and helpful.
Airconditioning was noisy and not very effective in the bedroom, the sofa bed would not be appropriate for anyone but a small child (our 7 year old was fine). No phone service available as it was being repaired and the internet connectionwas a bit flakey however I understand that this is being upgraded.
The apartments are well designed with quality fittings. They represent singularly excellent value and are located to give easy access to much of NY downtown. The management provided first rate service before, during (and after) my stay. I would unreservedly recommend the Apartments to any NY visitor - solo traveller, couple of any age or family group.
Almost nothing - perhaps a nameplate on the street door to make location a little more certain?
A well appointed and comfortable appartment close to public transport and food shopping, extremely helpful and courteous staff
There is no elevator in this three story building but we were helped with our luggage so that was not a problem
I enjoyed my stay in the Upper Yorkville Suites. The suite was exceptionally clean and the management were both professional and responsive. I felt very safe and secure during my brief stay and I had access to transportation and its a short walk (3 blocks) to Central Park.
It was calm and clean
The sofa was so awful that we had to sleep on the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
spotless, spacious, quiet, friendly and very convenient.
One block from the Subway and 3 blocks from central park and museum mile, close to everything. The apartment is a 140 year old browstone renovation, the accomodations are impecable and very well decorated.
There is no elevator, but for the rate I would totally recommend it.
