Small rooms as though it was built for an aeroplane. Compact but with the essentials. FYI No fridge.
The beds were super comfortable and the decor was amazing ! I live in New York and I felt like a tourist there . The lounge needs to stay open later . I wanted to enjoy it more .
The mini bar The maids
Location Noisy in room heater.
Good price and location AC unit was extremely loud, impossible to sleep well with it on, and it was humid hot summer in NYC. Major bummer. No towels in pool area had to call 3 times, there is barely any staff around ever. People seem to be here to crash for parties or work, not really a vacation hotel.
Nothing The hotel was too expensive The room was very small It was dirty
Impossible to sleep depending where your located in the hotel. If your on the same side as the club good luck getting any sleep at all. I could here the music and the DJ better than I could hear our room TV. Had to keep AC and TV on in attempt to drown out the music.
Location was excellent
I usually stay on the lower Eastside when I travel to New York for the restaurants and art galleries. I selected the out purely on the basis of economics and the desire to do something slightly different. Although there are no art galleries and only a handful of restaurants in this neighborhood it is walking distance to time square and the theater district. If shows are your game, this place is pretty awesome. However for 160 bucks a night with good sheets and a recently renovated modern bathroom I do not feel inconvenienced at all. You can easily take the blue line subway down to Chelsea or Greenwich Village and as long as the weather wasn't as terrible as it was during snowstorm Jonas during my stay you can easily walk east across to the Bowery once you have moved south a bit by train. There's a charming coffee and breakfast place right next-door to the hotel which was friendly and provided healthy food options. The staff at the hotel although not the most polished was extremely helpful during the storm. They were able to extend my stay since I was stranded with all flights canceled for 2 days without gouging me. I had a problem with my television remote which they expeditiously repaired and I appreciated the attentiveness and speed. The hotel restaurant was, meh, just fair, certainly not awesome as compared to most restaurants in New York, but they get points for being the only place open on the night of the storm. And again at bargain-basement prices for the room one as little right to complain.
The outside seating area attached to our room and the internal attrium. Staff were very helpful. We booked a suite. Very small room with only a bar mounted above the credenza to hang clothes. I had to make a conference call the next down so went to a common seating area downstairs It was dirty with several chairs stained with spilled drinks. Very loud club which didn't close until 4:00am. Good for young folks less so if you are a little older.
Liked that 4 of us could have a room where we each had our own bed and tv and be fairly close to great destinations. The place is right beside a night club and the room we were given initially was right beside the club. You could feel and hear the music in the room all night. There was also an "emergency exit" door right outside our room that was used by service personnel. The door banged constantly with people coming and going. Seriously the bang was so loud it made us jump every single time - this was every 15 minutes or so the entire night. None of us slept (myself, my 63 year old mom and my 18 year old daughter). One of the Tv's didn't work at all and another had a bad picture - we asked for it to be looked at - never happened. No way to lock the door from the inside and no "do not disturb" sign. We complained about the room but of course they couldn't do anything other than move us for the 2nd night and offer free breakfast (which was actually brunch starting at 10 am which needs its own whole other review). Room was dirty - carpet, sheets...Then the second night we did have a quieter room. While we were getting ready for our show there was a knock on the door followed by a male employee walking right in - no waiting for us to let him in - just walked right in to fill soap in the shower??? What if we had been naked? So bad it was laughable. At least we all have a funny story to tell. A tv and 2 lights didn't work in this room either. Awful awful place. People were nice but didn't follow through on the service at all.
A staff member member became rude with us in the hotub area. We were compted $50 in room service because of it. Other than that, the place was great!
Proximity to various NYC highlights is very nice. I understand parking in NYC is difficult, but a better alternative could be achieved.
Can't beat the location Spa and hot tub need to be heated up in the morning
Great welcome. Staff always willing to help. Rooms very comfortable. Great view. Fantastic design, furnitures, deco. Room cleaning was average.
There were comfortable beds, nice tv's in the room as well as a brilliant shower. The hotel is next to a junction so you get awoken very early every morning but i was put on the second floor next to it.
Nice view from the bar, nice room.
Very nice soap and shampoo Toilet paper poor, coffee stand in the morning moved away very early. At 9:30 it was already moved away. from the five opportunities we could only use 2.
We brought our dog with us, and they were very welcoming and accommodating...he got treats, a new leash, and they even offered a dog bed! And, they didn't give us a hassle when we wanted to leave the dog in the room while we went to dinner. I think the dog had as great a time as we did! The location wasn't the greatest if you are looking for "things to do" right there in the neighborhood, but for our needs, it was perfectly fine!
The View at the bar on the 16th floor! The view from our room, the food, service, location
Good location, 10 minute walk to Times Sq. No coffee/tea making facilities in room. Drinks expensive.
Amazing room with a view of the Hudson River. Excellent service from staff. The evening wine reception is a nice touch.
The cleanliness of the room and the bathroom and the location (near to time square) which we can find several metro lines. The noise resulting from the street (trucks, klaxons all night long). It was almost impossible to sleep even with earplugs.
Clean and uncluttered Good service I came in early and couldn't check in til 1:30 pm.
Walking distance to times square and the subway, some bars and restaurants nearby (hells kitchen area). And talk about bang for your buck, they validate parking, free wifi, some small stuff for breakfast. This place was a perfect hotel to crash at while exploring the city, I would stay again for SURE! The rooms were small, but typical for ny. The vending / ice was pretty sparse, but I've noticed that's getting typical for lower cost hotels. Must be how they're saving money. It's a little bit of a walk to the subway, not a big deal for me, but if it's really cold or you just don't feel like walking, it's a little inconvenient.
I liked that it was in walking distance to time square. I wish that when the staff tels you that they will get you side by side rooms that when you go back they don't tell you that they are not suppose to move any rooms around. Then take thirty min. and 3 people later to get it done.
Lovely hotel and grat location
Pleasant staff, value for money
Small hotel, b&b feel, very quiet, clean, intimate
Very quiet and intimate setting. The patio was beautiful and unexpected, but a great place for a glass of wine! Would like coffee maker in the room.
Staff are very helpful and knowledgable about the area. The map we were given on arrival was a massive help!!! Not much choice with the breakfast
I liked the relaxed atmosphere of the neighborhood and the location. The outside tables in the courtyard and on the front entryway were so amazingly lovely. The hotel staff (except the housekeepers) did engage in any conversation with me or my party nor did most of the guests. The staff seemed withdrawn and not friendly. This compared unfavorably to the people in the neighborhood who cheerfully greeted us and chatted even on our brief encounters.
The desk person carried my luggage to my room because there was no elevator and I was unaware of that and unable to carry it up. They also moved my room from the third floor to the second. My air conditioning was not cooling my room the first night and the weather was hot. The next day when I asked, the unit was replaced and then worked nicely. No warning that there was no elevator. The walls were dirty--smeared and scuffed. Someone's milk was left in my refrigerator.
Great hotel close to the heart of mid-town, at a very reasonable price. A totally unexpected delight, would go back anytime. Will be my go-to hotel for staying in NY after a show or dinner.
Great location only 5 minute walk from Time Square, great value for money, clean and comfortable accommodation. Would definently recoomend it.
Great location for walking in midtown Manhattan. Room temperature was too hot and could not be adjusted.
The fact that it is convienently located and has garage parking WiFi should be free. They should allow for pre-pays...This was a gift put on someone elses charge card and I had to pay for it myself.
the location was great, 10 minutes to Times Square and easy walking to subway.and places to eat. Great swimming pool, which was needed because of the heat June/July
I love the location being blocks away from Times Square and even Central Park is within walking distance if you're up to it. The price is very reasonable for NYC and even though the hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant on site finding food is not a problem. I've stayed at Travel Inn before and will be back.
Love the price for the location and services! I have stayed here before and will again on my next visit to NYC!
Good loation, clean room
Location, price, cleanliness. Pool always closed, workout machines broke
Great location! Plug wouldn't be work in bathroom. Tub wouldn't drain while showering.
location and price room smelled like cigarette smoke
The location was great. The staff was very friendly and the price can't be beat. The wifi was not free.
Great spacious room Amazing staff Cheap parking prices
Great hotel for the price. Great location, short walk to times square, two blocks from port authority were they have buses to all airports
excellent location large TV Beds not comfortable. One light didn't work No safe. no hairdryer not a great value for price.
comfortable and quiet. no tea coffee facilities in room or lobby.not suitable for people who cannot walk long distance.breakfast choice which was expensive very limited
close to up town, I found the bed linen in poor condition. The bed blanket was brown in colour did not look fresh laundered . No bed bugs I did check.
I come here a lot. The front desk saved my night. I bought a pair of size small booty shorts for my new transexual gurlfriend only to realize, when she tried them on, that she is a size extra small. The front desk provided some pins to cinch in the waist. What a night!! Some people complain about lack of coffee makers. There are delis at every corner.
The location was great for us. (We went to the Jon Stewart Show which was a block away and then to Times Square, which was 3 or 4 blocks away. It is in a fairly quiet part of town and still quite accessible to everything. Rooms were very large, by NYC standards and clean and modern. The staff was excellent and parking was cheap. The rooms were fairly warm at night
Loved seeing Remy, the conseierge, our friend from 10 years ago. Also appreciated the referrals to a great place for breakfast. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Pricey compared to more upscale hotels. Room was next to exercise area, so it was noisy at some times of the day.
Good location, near Time Square. No
For the price it is very good. It;s not in a heavy traffic area like Times Sq, Parking is easy. Nearby delis, liquor stores and transexual clubs that I go to find gurls.
. Close to the heart of Manhatten . Fair value for money . Kingsize bed was fantastic . Airconditioner unit leaked and left a wet patch on the carpeted floor . Furniture was old . No coffee making facility in room
location hotel staff
Location Quoted price did not include or indicate taxes
I liked that the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. They offered free breakfast although I was not able to take advantage of that but I was excited that they had that to offer. The hotel as a whole was very clean and you could tell that there was good upkeep of the utilities in the building. For the most part, the staff was very helpful when I had questions and it was easy to get to a place of transportation from my building because there was a main street just to the left. I wish my room had a better view of the city because it was in the back of a building so my view is of a parking lot but that is just a preference for me. I also did not like the the house cleaning it had to be done at a specific time because I was not prepared when the woman came but she let me know that if she did not come now she cannot come again. I also had a late flight so the early check out fee was a little much to me but I understand that as well.
loud. unfriendly staff. i got put in a room in the basement next to a huge ice machine. every hour all night it made big noise that woke me up. i asked to change rooms and they laughed at me.
I choose to optimize my room for quiet: I received what must have been the quietest room in the building. Staff was helpful and friendly. WiFi worked well and was simple to engage. Breakfast area was crowded.
The room was small, but very nicely arranged. There was a bathtub that I used for relaxation. The view from our room was nice and bright. There were fruits at the breakfast. Breakfast space was limited for all the guests and that makes people like me who prefers to take his time eating breakfast hurry, because watching others standing doesn't feel right. It was not also so much vegan-friendly. There was oatmeal (as a source of protein) but I would like to suggest the hotel managers to add soy/almond milk, peanut butter as well so that vegans can use the cereals too. Vegan sausages (with request from guests) could also be a very good option.
Everything Necessary for a Business Stay is There. Lobby Small but Functional People Were very Friendly and Helpful Hotel was Clean and Convenient Rooms Are Very Small, but Hey! This is NYC in the 21st Century! Long Walk to Nice Restaurants
