Locanda Verde was recommended to me by a chef friend in Atlanta. I got there ahead of my friend for an early dinner, and the bartender recommended a nice apertivo cocktail. The bar was crowded but comfortable. My friend joined and we ordered -- he the Wood-Fired Garlic Chicken and I had the Casarece Puttanesca which was delightful. Just perfectly spicy, and the octopus was a nice addition. Atmosphere and service were perfect. Highly recommend.

The bread that started us off was fresh from the ocean and so good I felt bad for every person in the restaurant, or who I know, that's gluten free. Our pasta and garlic chicken dishes were both dynamite but the portions were shockingly large. We could have split one of our dishes and been fine. We opted for the monkey bread for dessert and it was so dry and tasteless, I was very disappointed.

We arrived for on time for an 8:15pm reservation, and were asked to wait in the very crowded bar. For 45 minutes we were crushed by a loud and obnoxious crowd, and were finally seated at 9pm. The service was good but staff were clearly very busy. The food was good, but no better than we could have had for two thirds the price in a quieter restaurant. I am happy for the restaurant that it draws such crowds, but won't be coming back.

This restaurant was perfect in every way! The lovely rustic wood and brick decor create a relaxed, casual atmosphere perfectly suited for the hearty and comfortably homey breakfast dishes we were served --heavenly lemon-ricotta pancakes, a beautiful zucchini frittata and earthy sausage hash with eggs --all generous portions perfectly prepared. A family member saw this restaurant featured on 'Unique eats' and it most certainly surpassed our expectations!! We will be returning soon!!

I went with a couple of friends for weekend brunch - the atmosphere was excellent, and a lovely venue, but the services was extremely average. The ricotta starter and seafood pasta were amazing but the more brunch style options such as eggs and the sandwiches were disappointing and overpriced.

It seems to me that price creep has become an issue.$65/person for lunch makes it a special occasion place for me. Not expecting a bargain but this price for a nice lunch feels like a tipping point.

Way overpriced for what you get. my lamb slider appetizer was bigger than my gnudi entree. Same goes for my winter fruit dessert. Far larger than entree. Cocktail was thin and weak. The shaved truffle on the macaroni special wasnt even tasty. couldnt even smell it.

Our server David was exceptional. He confidently guided us through the menu and wine list offering recommendations for each. Thank you to server assistant Andres for his genial personality and professionalism. All of the staff were accomodating and attentive from beginning to end. Everyone was engaging when prompted without being obtrusive. My girlfriend and I were celebrating an early Valentine's Day. Thank you to all the Lacanda Verde team for making our evening extra special.

Been here many times... This time the service was spot on and well noted vs the previous experience where the waiter was a bit snooty. Food is always good... Not great, but good enough. Prices are a bit exaggerated, but ambiance makes up for it.

The prices have just gotten too high and the food is average. Service is fine but certainly could be more friendly and accommodating. We tried to move a ball stool 2 feet and the bartender said that the stools couldn't be moved - what? Pretty loud. Love the ambiance but after many years of this being our go to place, we are taking it off our list.

Weve been here for lunch and its been great--food, service, vibe. Came for dinner the other evening and the food was decent but the waitress was less than average. Not friendly or helpful. Ordered bottle of wine ($140) and were told they were out of it. That was okay. The sommelier came by to recommend something comparable and gave us two choices in a faux Italian accent: $220 and $275. Stop already.

This was my second time eating breakfast at Locanda Verde. The service is outstanding. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The food consistently good. My favorite is the ricotta cheese with burnt orange toast. The menu is varied with something for everyone regardless of age. Children are made to feel welcome. We will definitely return

Incredibly busy and you won't get seated before your reservation time. Our waiter was great he knew the menu and was able to offer suggestions on both food and wine. He was passionate and energetic. The bread and buratta appetizer were great. The special truffle pasta was slightly over rated. The pasta entrees were expensive. You are sitting an elbows distance away from the next table so be prepared to talk loud to your date or group. Overall great experience.

We visit NYC every year. Cipriani used to be our favourite restaurant . But Locanda Verde is just superb ! Fantastic food! Try Blue crab as an entree , Grandmother's ravioli and Bucatini Nero pasta with mussels and saffron cream! Just magnificent !!!

The ambiance decor and menu are awesome, however i had the fire roasted garlic chicken and it was heavily condimented with rosemary. I would definitely go again and try something from the brunch menu since the variety looks good. Get ready to dish out at least $100 for 2 meals and some drinks. this place is definitely not for the frugal!

All in all rather disappointing. \nPleasant ambience and cool surroundings. \nVery enthusiastic and charming waiter who with a friendly, encyclopaedic knowledge of the Locanda Verde offer, which was let down by the reality. This includied the all Italian wine selection- the first bottle was tanked and had to go back, the second at $115 was just poor. The waiter oversold the special Truffle spaghetti- the result a virtually tasteless, gluggy blob at the bottom of our plates. A case of style and trendy looks taking priority over higher standards of Italian food preparation

The restaurant was packed on a Monday night, and quite lively. The service is great and staff are happy to make recommendations. The food was excellent, while the dishes aren't huge so you'll want to sample a couple of items. Reasonably priced. Definitely need reservations before you go.

I thought the restaurant was overrated. First thing that bothered me were that the chairs were uncomfortable and rocked. The table, of course rocked as well. The menu was limited therefore did not offer a variety of dishes. Although my meal was tasty, I ordered the veal Milanese, it was too greasy. The wine list was admirable and priced reasonably. My inclination is not to return.

I was disappointed by the service. Waiter took too long to get our order and we had to get other people to call him three times so that he would come to our table. At the end we ordered two coffees that we had to reorder because he forgot about them. That sometimes happens when it's too busy but this time it wasn't. \n\nFood was good, and I waited at the bar for a while and the bartender was very nice and gave me a menu right away. Place has a nice decor. Hostess was very nice.

We had a late Sunday afternoon brunch at Locanda Verde, the staff was friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. While waiting for another couple to join us we had a tasty, well crafted cocktail at the bar. Additionally, non-alcoholic choices are available including freshly pressed, healthy juices - a great option. Food was excellent, all four entree's exceeded our expectations. Our meal was ended in a sweet way with a shared yummy desert accompanied by espresso and mint tea. Service was not rushed, yet was attentive in a good way.\n\nThe decor is upscale. Ambience is excellent. Good vibes all around including a smart crowd. Locanda Verde is a winning combination. I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful spot.

The food was delicious. We went there to meet friends for brunch. Portions are not very big, but the food was tasty. The lemon ricotta pancakes were delicious. Salads seemed a bit small. Some were still hungry after leaving the restaurant. We thought it was a cool place to take friends from out of town. Service was so-so,,, took a long time to get coffee refills. Also a bit pricey for the neighborhood. Not our usual go-to place for lunch or dinner,,, also its very noisy.

My friend and I went for brunch. We got the truffle honey cheese spread, zucchini fritatta, pancakes and poached pear. Everything was absolutely amazing! We have never had a better breakfast in our lives. The service was absolutely fantastic, Dani our server was so sweet and offered great suggestions. Thank you for everything! Beautiful experience. I went once before yearsago (when LV first opened) and had a terrible experience. Super rude wait staff. I never went back because of it. My husband wanted to try brunch at LV on New Years Eve so I caved. Wow. Just wow. Staff, amazing. Food, spectacular. \nCannot wait to go back.

I dined in Locanda Verde several times. I liked the restaurant setting and ambiance. Food was not so excellent this time.We had pasta that is better done in authentic Italian restaurants. The dough was too thick for our taste and not delicate at all. Fish was really mediocre executed, did not taste good at all.Portions are big and the service was ok considering that our waiter did not offer parmigiano cheese for our pasta and the hostess was not really a gracious one.

I went for lunch. Honestly breakfast/brunch is much more fun than lunch. The lunch menu is very limited, portions are good for dieters. I had a bourbon cocktail which turned out to be basically a hot toddy. The waiter did not advise that it was a warm cocktail, perhaps assuming it was clear from the menu. In this instance, since I felt a cold coming on, it was fine for me but I suggest that be made clearer. Shrimp salad and lamb pappardelle were very tasty. Best/most innovative item I had was the semifreddo on a bed of lemoncello granita with pine nuts. Six dollar Illy cappuccino was Meh! For the overall experience it seemed very overpriced.

I was disappointed the last time I invited a friend to meet me at Laconda Verde. The menu was not the same I remember. The service was abysmal. I had to wait for my tea. And then the honey. The Yogurt and granola my friend ordered was ridiculous. As if someone had dropped a bag of granola on a small portion of yogurt. Not well done. My oatmeal wasn't served with milk or honey. I think it was the service that made me annoyed. Their disregard and disrespect. \nThey were constantly on top of us for all the wrong reasons. Felt we were being rushed for no reason. And knocked my bag continually off the edge of the chair. Case closed. Better watch what your people are up to with the clients.

We were excited to go to Laconda Verde after it was recommended to us . A cab ride to Greenwich took us the a quaint restaurant. Everything was fantastic from the ambience and the staff. To the great wine and food.Our waiter recommended the garlic chicken and my daughter had the ragu. We had a wonderful time! Very authentic Italian

Dined for brunch. The service from start to finish was sub par. We had to wait 15 minutes for our table even though we had reservations and the same table we were seated at, was available when we first walked in?!? The greeter was blah, bartender blah and waitress blah blah. The layout of the restaurant was pretty cool, nice ambiance. The food was ok, drink selection seemed to be thin compared to similar restaurants. Not sure if I'd come back to give them another chance...

Chef Carmelini's food is always exquisite and the service if not the best is always friendly and at very good level.\n\nOften difficult to find a table for busy days, and also very noisy, two things that might prevent you from getting there or enjoying the place.\n\nAlso very good wine list with a sound offer of italian accessible and less accessible gems at not the highest prices.

We were looking for a good Italian restaurant during our trip in New York. There is the choice !\nWe finally opted for la Locanda Verde because of the name of the restaurant seemed attractive (for an unknown reason) and we understood the food being in an Itlian Style but with something else. This was the case: we loved the food, Italian obviously but with 'un petit je ne sais quoi' wich makes the experience very interesting. The homemade pastas were delicious and served with creative accompaniment, even if the portions seem a little bit mesured.\nThe service was very helpful, present but no harrassing (as it may happen sometimes) and provided great advice for the wine. The restaurant is a large one but the organization of the space makes it very agreable, not to say cosy which would be exagerated if we consider that the room was sometimes very noisy. The general atmosphere, the lighting especially, are a success.\nSo yes, it has been a good moment for us !

We have been to Locanda Verde many times for brunch and dinner and the restaurant never fails to disappoint. Recently we went for Sunday Brunch and the entire experience was wonderful - the food was great, the ambience was inviting and the waitstaff was very accommodating. We never felt rushed and the pace of the meal was perfect. This is the place to go on a Sunday afternoon for a great meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

Very creative menu. We shared a crab crostini, 2 handmade pasta dishes and a porchetta main, all were fabulous especially the lasagnette verde served with an amazing white veal bolognese. Service was spectacular and we were not rushed as often happens in 'hot' restaurants like this, we had the table for 3 hours. $24 for a Kir Royale seems a bit high, other than that prices are in line with high end restaurants.

Great atmosphere in the heart of TriBeCa. Went with clients and had an excellent meal. The hanger steak was cooked to perfection and adequately portioned for lunch. The wait staff was attentive and also gave us the space we needed to have a business conversation. Well done!

Went with some friends for brunch. Service was standard (not overly friendly, but good), food was excellent. Had the soft-scrambled farm eggs which were great. Some of the best scrambled eggs I've had - which is saying something since it is generally a pretty ordinary dish.\n\nOnly complaint, we had a table for 4 and one person was pregnant and the room at the table was very tight. There was no room to put purses anywhere than on the floor and we were very close together. Aside from that, great time.

Thanksgiving lunch was good but pricey. I like the restaurant and have eaten there on several occasions however it has become too expensive for what it is. Same for The Dutch, the other Carmelini restaurant. They were better when first opened. But the focaccia is heavenly.

Our Favorite in TriBeCa, this Italian trattoria is stylish, gracious, beautifully decorated and appointed, but best of all is the rich, tomatoey, goodness and low-key, Tuscan inventiveness of the 'grandmother' cuisine: Focaccia, delicious little meatball sliders, perfect lettuce salads, savory, slow-summered pasta sauces, perfect cappuccinos and lattes, but also an all-Italian wine list from the sublime to the rediculous. Did I mention the fresh-baked croissants and breakfast pastries? We are often guest's of The Hotel Greenwich upstairs, but if you're not, by all means make a reservation or you won't get in. We will return on every trip to The City. You should too! Worth an Uber from anywhere!

We checked in at 11:30 PM, 15 minutes late for our reservation and the staff were very cool about it and sat us down immediately, since they held the table for us. The restaurant and bar were very busy and ALIVE!\nFood was OK. Brussels Sprouts were not cooked properly and were hard as rock and cold. The main entrees were also not hot when served, so a little disappointed in that the meal wasn't up to what we thought were high standards. Red sauce was very, very good though.\nWould we go back, probably with an earlier time, since it just felt as though the end of the evening brought about the lack of attention to the food preparation.

The food was splendid, the wine delicious... but the enjoyment of both was seriously degraded because of the noise level. There were 4 sources: the background 'music' over which every diner had to speak; the bright surfaces that seemed to amplify the sound; a diner behind us who had failed to bring his indoor voice; and a 2 year old whose parents seemed indifferent to the shrieking and its impact on those around them. Normal conversation over dinner was rendered inaudible. \nWe've dined here before and were looking forward to our return. But unless the management takes serious steps to change an acoustic experience that puts the Chambers Street subway station to shame, we won't be back.

Ordered Brunch sausage hash. It tasted ok but the amount of oil it was sitting in is totally unacceptable, especially given that it was served with bread on the side. It should have been on top of the bread so that the bread could soak up the grease. Food to go was thrown in a container all mixed together with hair. It looked like they initially trashed it then fished it out of the trash - GROSS!

I love Locanda Verde for dinner, brunch was a complete let down. We had porchetta sandwich and shrimp and grits and it was underwhelming. Service was just average, although I like the light during the day. We could have ordered wrong, but in general is stick to wine, lunch and dinner here and avoid brunch.

Lorcanda Verde is a great restaurant to consider for a number of different dining occasions. For me, although not a 'special occasion', it was a delightful experience and a very good value. The restaurant's space is a highlight; vibrant, fun, and noisy. The food is contemporary, tasty, and fairly priced. The service is professional and courteous and I want to make a point of reporting that I was seated exactly at my reservation time. I enjoyed 2 of the crostinis, 2 of the pastas, and a duck breast entree with my guests. I would order any of them again without hesitation. I feel the restaurant's wine selection is complete being well stocked with a broad selection from multiple regions of the world but with an obvious emphasis on Italy. In conclusion, I highly recommend Locanda Verde for your next celebration or tomorrow night's dinner.

This is a review of the brunch menu. \n\nLove the brunch menu here at Locanda Verde. It's much more exciting and innovative than the traditional boring brunch menu options (e.g. eggs Benedict). We ordered the Sheep's milk ricotta (nice blend of sweetness of the honey with the slight salty flavor of the ricotta), 8 hour tripe (amazing flavors and tender tripe, really well done and one of my favorite dishes here), spaghetti all'amatriciana (simply rich and delicious), and last the blueberry pancakes (also loved it). \n\nOne of my favorite brunch spots in the city. Will be back!

With so many NYC Italian restaurants it's hard to distinguish oneself. I consider the quality of pasta to be key to my overall rec'd. LVerde is a good restaurant, but not the best of the ones I've sampled in the city. My wife's meat-based pasta was better than my ravioli. The latter although tasty seemed mass-produced and the meat stuffing was blase. The burrata was excellent and the wine selection wonderful. Nothing bad, but nothing to make me want to go back.

The restaurant was very cold. It was freezing outside and I was under an AC vent. Several people we were sitting near were cold and we all asked the hostess to do something about it. They said they couldn't because it was the only vent in the restaurant (what??!). They did end up moving us but it was near the door. Even though they had double doors every time someone came in to the restaurant we felt yet another freezing cold gust of outside air. We couldn't win. They need a revolving door or something. Doesn't it snow in NY?!;)\nFood was ok. Nothing impressive. Fish was served cold and they didn't time it very well. We ordered wine but didn't get it until our entrees were almost gone. The budino was tasty!\nCome on DeNiro!

I enjoyed the atmosphere here. Reservations are hard to make so make your reservations well in advance. Arrive early to enjoy the yummy cocktails at the bar while you wait for your table. It is pricey, but well worth it with the right company and for a special occasion.

Locanda Verde is lovely, and I wanted to love since I heard so many wonderful things about it. But I simply did not. The folks greeting you at the door are quite snobby, and do not make you feel welcome. The wait staff is truly wonderful. Cannot say great stuff about them. The food was a disappointment thought. While undeniably tasty, it was not outstanding or surprising. The roasted chicken is good, but I make it as well without the $60 price tag. I simply did not think it was good value, and it did not live up to the hype. For me the idea of seeing a celebrity is not a big deal. So I do wonder whether all the hype comes from the fact that it is a celebrity haunt.

I was pretty excited to eat here after reading so many great reviews! The entry area is one corner of the restaurant and was very welcoming. Our reservation was near opening time that evening so everything seemed spacious. The vibe was hard to describe - Nice decorative objects in warm tones throughout, held in place with leather belts and buckles. \n\nWe were a party of 5, and for such a nice place I was really surprised when they sat us at a table for 4, with 2 chairs on one side of the table (chairs that were not, unfortunately, meant for comfort). I guess I didn't understand why they didn't open one of the leaves to give us a bit more room?\n\nNice wine list, pleasantly formal waiters and staff, decent amount of time between courses. Hardly had to look for help, as a server was always close by. The only hitch in service was that our waiter brought the table a 2nd round but forgot mine.\n\nFood was delicious- we ordered Burrata (amazing) and 2 specials for appetizers. All were delicious. I ordered the Orata for dinner, which was amazing. For dessert, 2 of us ordered what we thought was a decadent chocolate dish, but which turned out to be spicy chocolate ice cream. The chocolate flavor itself was delicious but by the 3rd or 4th spoon, I stopped eating it because my throat burned so much. Oh well :(

We stay at The Hotel Greenwich often, partly because we love this fun and delicious restaurant. The last two nights, we had the fish of the day, pasta with pulled pork and tomato, focaccia, and the garlic chicken for two. Although we rarely order desserts, we split the chocolate thing surrounded with cream with cappuccino. The house 'Pinot Noir' was a nebiello. They insist you drink Italian wine. It doesn't need another guest, very popular, but if you can score a reservation, just go.

I really wanted to like this place. I read all the reviews knew what to eat beforehand. On arrival, I felt a coldness from our waitress, but soon realized that that's her personality, to be fair she wasn't rude or anything just not overall engaging or warm. Food wise , the ricotta was a winner! and the tripe was tasty...but I don't think my pasta was that good. It lacked flavor, I had to add heaps of salt which is never a good move.

What a treat! My first time dining at Locanda Verde was an exceptional experience. The food was delicious, my friend and I ordered the Sheep's Milk Ricotta Crostini (we were informed it's a staple there!) and the Charred Polpo, both were delicious and prepared to perfection. Then we ordered pasta dishes as our main course-- I ordered the Pici with duck and my friend ordered the Seasonal Squash Agnolli. BOTH WERE AMAZING. With the help of our extremely informative and knowledgable server, we both ordered wine to our likings that paired well with our order. He was also super friendly and was passionate and excited about their food and bev options. The atmosphere was perfect, they decked out the cozy but upscale setting with seasonal touches that made for a special experience. We will most definitely be going back!

I have been to LV many times and always marveled at the roast chicken. Until recently when I was there for lunch when it was not so great, but it was a sliced chicken dish, not the whole bird, so I gave it a pass.\nWhen we were there Tuesday night I enlisted a friend to share it with me anticipating a great dish. Sorry to report it was mediocre at best--not as good Whole Foods birds for $6. If we had not been celebrating a special occasion it would have been sent back. The only seasoning seemed to be garlic that was either almost raw and biting or burned ladled over the top of the bird--even the skin lacked flavor and, the skin was soggy. The chicken tasted as if it had not been marinated at all. Has this recipe been changed? Or was the original recipe ignored? The only thing that reminded me of the roast chicken I love at LV was the price tag. Very disappointed. \nThe rest of the food, and the wine, was very good.

Locanda Verde has always been one of my favorite breakfast places in Tribeca--and though I never eat yogurt and fresh fruit I always get it there and it is always delicious. The too large portion means that I can eat the remaining half the next day--and it's still good. The coffee is excellent, especially the cappuccino . The wait staff can be a bit distracted but the real change this time was the host staff. Typically surly and unwelcoming, the two who staffed the reception desk were smiley and welcoming: a definite change for the better. I will return regardless (my neighborhood) but now I will look forward to a more gracious welcome.

We had a delicious brunch here - the frittata was among the best we've ever eaten. And their baked goods are simply outstanding. But there's something about the service that seemed detached and less than welcoming. The folks who are at the maitre d' station didn't seem particularly pleased to see us when we arrived, and our server was fine, but not really engaged. Still, the food was excellent.

So overall we had a very positive experience because the service was amazing. But i had to send back our crudo starter because it was flooded in olive oil. The entree's were both great and went very well with the wine (just a note, they have no Napa/Sonoma wines) the sommelier helped us select. This is a very expensive restaurant so make sure you love everything, if you don't they will fix it. I don't think we got them on their best night and the service made up for that ..

The worst thing about Locanda Verde is getting a reservation - after that, everything is pretty good! There are always many interesting things to choose from on the menu, and everyone in the party always comes away pleased with their choices. We've been there for brunch, lunch and dinner and with large and small groups - the verdict is always the same - this place is a winner.

The food was delicious but truly overpriced. Our server was gracious and helpful but there are major problems in the kitchen. Very long waits for food to come out and we waited nearly twenty mins for a cup of tea. For an establishment with such good food and charging high prices this is unacceptable. I was excited to eat here, and then quickly disappointed. We went for brunch and, for the price paid, the portion(s) was small. We ordered the garlic potatoes as a side and they were brought midway through eating our meal. I thought how delectable the fig/gorgonzola scone would be, so I ordered one. The server never brought it, so I asked her to just cancel it. The service was not what I would expect in the establishment. Dinner may be better, but I probably will not return because NYC offers so many other places to eat delicious food.

Except for the hostess attempting to put us at the worst table, we had a great lunch with efficient service. Fig salad with arugula was lightly dressed if only there were more figs, grandmothers ravioli was shared and was plenty for two. Had the hanger steak which was flavorful if only it was served warmer. My wife had the fish which was perfectly cooked. Ended with Affogato that included a huge scoop of vanilla gelato. Would definitely go back.

We went for breakfast as a family of 5, with our young adult kids , and really enjoyed our experience at Locanda Verde. The setting is very classy, and a beautiful restaurant in Tribeca. Food was very tasty, especially the toast with sheeps milk ricotta! We tried 4 different entrees: french toast, lemon/blueberry ricotta pancakes, oatmeal, veggie frittata and all were good, though we thought the appetizer toast was the highlight of the morning. Service was good, but not outstanding as we needed to keep reminding them to refill coffee and several of our plates were dirty when they brought them out with appetizers. They did promptly apologize and replaced them with clean ones. We had been to several high end restaurants with much better service (Gramercy Tavern, Colicchio and Sons, Scarpetta and Craft) and were maybe a little spoiled. We would rank this restaurant as 4 of 5 stars compare to some of the others. That being said, we would recommend Locanda Verde to our friends.

We came in from out of town to enjoy a special meal here. While the food was great, the service ruined the evening.\n\nOur server was very inhospitable and didn't seem like he wanted to be there. We learned his name from the receipt, not from him introducing himself. We weren't allowed to order our food in courses, but were told that we needed to order our appetizers and entrees together. After our food arrived, we didn't see our server until we were finished--wasn't offered a glass of wine with dinner but asked if I wanted another cocktail clearly after we had finished eating.\n\nTo end the night, our server didn't see us out, but had another server run our check and wish us good night. I informed the manager at the end of the evening, and her response was pretty disappointing as well--'I can't control what type of days these kids are having.' She did say she would get us in, no problem, the next time we wanted to come in, but that's what I use Opentable for.

Locanda Verde's Thanksgiving pre-fixe 2015 was da bomb! First courses were reflective of the restaurant's cuisine followed by traditional Thanksgiving dishes (turkey, stuffing, veggies) and dessert. Our family of 5 truly enjoyed well-executed, sumptuous dishes. All of the first courses were outstanding from the the autumn salad, the harvest squash soup to the white veal pasta . The turkey slices were mostly white meat (very juicy!) with some slices of dark. Our kids really loved the fennel sausages and we all enjoyed the brussels sprouts sautéed in pancetta. Our servers were friendly yet professional and the dishes arrived with good pacing. All in all it was a truly memorable dining experience.

Located does not disappoint. Have the Ricotta toast as your brunch share plate. Its a MUST. The frittata is airy and delicious and the scrambled eggs melt in your mouth. The eggplant sandwich and pasta is incredible. Dinner at Locande is just a delicious and has a great vibrant scene. Book reservations now!!!

I was very disappointed as we went on a monday and because it was labor day (holiday) it was brunch not lunch . Their lunch and dinner is far superior to their brunch which in my opinion is weak and I would not have eaten there if I would have known. The prices are high to begin with so you should be pleased with your meal not disappointed. The salad was run of the mill and I have had better at far lower priced and less well known restuarants. The Ricotta spread was also under whelming and the Toast was burnt. There was little to no honey and an over sprinkling of pepper. Very disappointing .. the nice thing is the location and decor which are first rate .

My friends and colleagues kept insisting that there were wonderful upscale restaurants in West Tribeca, so finally I had to check it out. And I'm so glad I did! Locanda Verde is a lovely out-of-the-way place with a dark interior and a bustling open kitchen. The duck breast with sausage and black rice was out of control good, the celery soup was a revelation, and the steak tartare was flavorful and strangely uplifting. Amazing service, such a good experience. I would go again in a second. In fact, I might!

A group of us went for a going-away lunch for a colleague. We were seated reasonably quickly. The server was very friendly, great sense of humor and candid opinions. The lamb sliders were excellent and the market panzanella (starters) very fresh. Had to ask for a bowl of bread but it was brought out right away and the focaccia was awesome. The folks who got the pastas, including the Italians among us, loved it. I got the fish and it was beautifully cooked - very flavorful sauce. And the desserts - wow! Rolled out of there...not really used to a heavy lunch but this was worth it.

I frankly expected a little better. They had a special ciabbatta bread with radishes and sea salt that was delicious, and so were the roasted carrots. The salad with figs and arugula was uninspired and the pasta, a type of ravioli with pesto and greens was lackluster. I expected the pasta to shine since this is their specialty and just wasn't wowed. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing.The ambience is lovely and the wait staff were too.

The bread is amazing, the foie gras crostini was outstanding, and I had the duck for my entree and it was superb! We went there for a birthday celebration on our children's recommendation not really knowing what to expect. Great choice. The food was delicious and inventive. We shared two appetizers, two entrees and a dessert. Yum!! Not inexpensive, but a special treat. The service was pleasant. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated which we did not think was terrible with a reservation. Apparently someone gave away our reserved table. However it did take over an hour to get our meals of French Toast, pancakes, and eggs. Waitress did apologize a few times and gave my husband a free drink. The location is great. At the edge of the village. The room is well-oraganized so that you aren't drowned out by noise but you still get the feel of a cozy spot. The food is good. Some imaginative touches such as the shrimp with polenta are nice additions to your standard fare. Wine by the glass offers nice selections but prices are high and the pour is on the small side. Everything sweet is really sweet (cookies, pastries, etc.), which seems to be a bit of overkill. Service was terrific, attentive without being overbearing. One warning - portions are small. For me, it was perfect but for those who eat with their eyes, you might want to check on the size of your dish.

Best restaurant in TriBeCa. We stayed in Greenwich Hotel (upstairs) and tried Locanda Verde at all hours for all occasions. Yes, you definitely need reservations, but once in, it is cheerful, thoughtful, efficient, innovative, traditional, with a spectacular, vintage Italian-American saloon decor and great lighting. No hustle or hassle or table turning anxiety. Great, great cuisine to try and an all-Italian wine list. We dine in NYC's finest on a regular basis, with savvy adult children there to guide us, but this was by far the best of the best this trip. See you there!

...as in Cushion. Once you get past the totally uncomfortable metal chairs, smallish tables and lack of tablecloths given the prices, it's a very enjoyable place for an informal dinner. Among the pasta dishes ordered, the black linguini with octopus was interesting, Grandmother's ravioli was ordinary, but the Doppio Ravioli was excellent with a great combination of flavors. The skate wing piccanta lacked zestiness, in contrast to the duck and rabbit dishes that stood out in preparation, presentation and flavors. Service and ambiance were very good, particularly our server who had excellent knowledge of the notable wine list.

My wife and I had dinner here on Friday October 2nd, 2015. From start to finish we had a wonderful experience. Our server, Brian P., was absolutely excellent. His recommendations were on point. We had the Blue Crab Crostini, the Lamb Meatball Sliders, My Grandmother's Ravioli and the Wood-Fired Garlic Chicken for Two. Each course was better than the last and I would advise people to get the chicken. I normally don't, but I made an exception in this case and was glad I did. For desset, my wife had the Peach and Raspberry Crostata and I had that blueberry-lemon Sorbetti. Both were excellent. Come, eat, drink and enjoy!

The service was great.\n\nI was not impressed with the food. \n\nHad an appetizer and entree. I live in Dallas and can get way better Italian cuisine there at low end restaurants. Additionally, I found way better NYC restaurants that were half the price.\n\nAtmosphere was a negative experience due to the fact we were seated directly behind host stand, so we heard all restaurant personnel conversations and had the hostesses / host butts in our face for the duration of the meal. Some people may see this as a benefit though :)\n\nOverall, I thought it was over priced based on the quality of food. Sitting behind the host stand was an isolated instance and I am sure had we been seated elsewhere, the atmosphere would have been more enjoyable. NYC is a hub of great restaurants and I had way better Italian food at other local restaurants for a quarter of the cost. Save your money on this one.\n\nCheers!

Locanda Verde has really terrific food and great ambiance.\n\nThe only area for improvement is around certain rigid rules they adhere to ... your party may have 7 out of 8 people but they will NOT seat you until everyone arrives. We visited La Locanda Verde during a family visit to New York. We loved every second of this experience ! The waiter was fantastic and his descriptions really whetted our appetites. Then the food arrived and every bit of it surpassed our expectations. The portions were generous. The pasta was better than most we have had in Italy ! The ricotta starter was delicious. I have never had such moist and gently flavoured chicken. This was one of the best meals we have ever enjoyed! Flawless !

My friend and I came here for brunch because of the great reviews on Yelp. We shared the sheep's milk ricotta appetizer, uovo modenese, and lemon ricotta pancakes. Some of the bread for both the ricotta and the uovo modenese was burnt and inedible. The pancakes were good but could have used more lemon curd. I wanted to ask for different bread, but the service was so terrible that it was difficult to flag down waiters, and nobody came to check on us. My friend ended up waiting to ask for extra lemon curd, and by the time it came her pancakes were cold. Overall, the food was pretty good, but not outstanding. My friend asked to take home her leftovers, and after we paid we waited 10 minutes for them because they forgot about us. It turns out the leftovers were packed away but were just sitting on the counter because they forgot to bring it to us. The food is good, but not good enough to make up for the service. Locanda Verde was extremely delicious. We arrived early for our reservation and sat at the bar. Once our table was ready they easily moved our tab and drinks to our table. We started with the ricotta which was probably my least favorite dish of the night. It was tasty but expensive for what you got. Easily our favorite side was the brussel sprouts. We tried three different pastas which were all delicious. The table we sat at was a little crammed, and we had loud people sitting next to us, but other than that the ambiance was nice. We also each ordered a dessert - the fruity cheesecake was unique and refreshing. Perfect for a celebratory meal or special occasion.

Don't take one of the last reservations for the night... Servers clearly aren't interested in waiting on you. Why bother offering a late reservation when you allow your servers to be MIA throughout the dinner and when they are.. Make you aware you are the only thing holding them up from leaving.

I have always gotten a great meal at this gem! The garlic chicken is better than I've gotten world wide! The Sheepsmilk ricotta crostini is fit for your final meal... I had the tripe tonite. Just like my Italian grsndmothers.... ! My favorite restaraunt bar none!

After looking forward to dining here and reading other reviews for Locanda Verde, I was pretty excited to eat here. I'm an experienced New York diner and LV is supposed to be one of the city's gems. I work for a non-profit so we are not rich by any means, and this was bit of a splurge for us, but nothing about the restaurant made us feel very welcome or at home. The ambiance was nice. Our table was unsteady and the host said the waitress would fix it and she never did. The waitress and host were fine. Not particularly friendly, but not rude. They did their jobs, and that was about it. The food was pretty good, but again, the entire meal was generally unremarkable. Nothing really stood out as amazing. The warm focaccia was really good, but even that we had to ask for. Overall I found the entire experience underwhelming and if this is a special meal for you, I'd really have a hard time not recommending someplace else.

Very delicious food - probably the best chicken I've ever eaten. Ravioli was also very very good, as was the spicy chocolate ice cream dessert. If you're with people who don't eat pork, warn them to ask what contains pork and what doesn't. We were told the lamb sliders contained pork, which is not clear from the menu. Would definitely go back again.

I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of sausage and everything was AMAZING! The sausage was an expensive add on but worth it in the end. My friend got the shrimp and sausage scampi which was also very good. If I was craving a savory brunch I would have ordered that.

This restaurant should be great but it's not. No one acts with any sense of urgency. Weather was horrible outside so they allowed a patron to smoke in their vestibule so smoke blew in on us every time the door opened. Server forgot about us after lunch entrees were cleared. Too bad for what should be such a neighborhood gem.

My food came out good, steak tartar and salad, but my husbands eggs in purgatory came out watery. It looked like someone poured water in the dish and the bread served was a mushy mess. The waiter admitted it was runnier than usual. He had to order another dish, the chicken. Now the waiting game begins when I have all my food and my husband has none. Always awkward. The disappointing part was that nobody came up to us to offer their apologies for the situation, not the manager or the waiter. For such a fine establishment that is $$$ that is unacceptable. I did get my hands on the host as she walked by and told her about the situation and she bought me a glass of Rosé but nobody likes to be tracking down people to complain to while you're supposed to be enjoying brunch. The manager did a walk through and I had 2 dishes in front of me and my husband had no dish and no drink. This is NYC with a lot of competition for superior food and service, they need to up their standards and open their eyes. Overall, not the best dining and food experience. I don't know if I'll be back, my husband definitely will not.

Locanda Verde was a fabulous dining experience. The service was quick and attentive and the food was amazing. The Lamb Slider appetizers should not be missed and both the pasta that my colleague and I enjoyed was wonderful. There are tons of options on the menu and well worth the time if you are in the Tribeca area. Reservations recommended although the one sour note of the evening was not being marked as attending my open table reservation. It was cleared up a few days later.

I couldn't get a seat at the bar at 5:30. They need a bigger bar or more space to drink. The noise level was a little high. Those are my less than positive comments.\n\nEverything else was amazing. Food, Service, Wine choices all terrific. The food was a little different than what I expected but it was still superb. I have been there twice and would say the pasta both times was terrificisimo. Maybe split one order for two as an appetizer. I am a bit of an ice cream nut but even the trilogy for a desert choice was amazing (just get them in three separate dishes and share them).\n\nThis is a restaurant that is a bit pricey with really great food, happening ambience, and great knowledgeable service. It is worth it.

We visit every Dec/Jan from London UK and eat at Locanda Verde every time. Gorgeous home-made pasta, outstanding meat and fish dishes and the most wonderful focaccia bread. Puddings are delicious too if you have any room left after such great pasta. A big-up for our server this time - she was excellent and didn't hover over us, asking if we liked every course (SO annoying). Only one down point - we think the Italian red wines are marked very high by the bottle. Let's have more rank and file names from Tuscany, Umbria and the Veneto please at more moderate prices.

I went for the pasta but was disappointed. I have heard that their pastas are amazing and I believe that this was just a fluke experience so I would be willing to go back. But the pappardelle was over-cooked and too soft, in my opinion, the sauce did not have much flavor, the meat in the sauce was also bland, and there was a random dallop of ricotta cheese on top of the dish which didn't really seem to enhance anything. It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but given their reputation (and the price point of the dishes), I found it to be just acceptable. Maybe my expectations were too high. Here's hoping my next visit will be better, since it is right near my office and would otherwise be a really great lunch spot for work lunches.

One of my favorite spots in NYC. Great place for dinner and I have spent some great lunches at Locanda. The garlic chicken is a must have along with the ricotta & olive oil.\nThe wines list has a nice variety and the desserts are incredible. This was not our first time at the restaurant and we are very disappointed that they didn't handle this situation better. They tried to serve our daughter (who is allergic to nuts and peanuts and lactose intolerant) with a pasta with pinenuts, not once, but actually twice, even though pinenuts weren't even listed in the ingredients. We had alerted the server twice. They started by delivering a pasta covered with cheese, not the pasta with seafood she ordered. Then came the pasta with pinenuts, sent back to the kitchen, then a freshly made pasta with...pinenuts. When we cancelled the order so we could leave, the manager came over and offered us free desserts, when it was clear we were preparing to leave after waiting for such a long time for those dishes. Very disappointing all around, not mention dangerous for our daughter.

The food at Locanda is fantastic. As a vegetarian, however, I would love to see more veggie options for main meals. As it stands, the only main dish that is fully vegetarian is the eggplant sandwich which, while delicious, feels like a lot of bread if you have indulged in the ricotta appetizer (which I can never pass up). I have no doubt that LV would make scrumptious vegetarian dishes and would definitely love to order them if they make their way on to the menu!

The ricotta was fantastic - the combination of the creamy cheese, charred bread, herbs, and olive oil was a great balance. Grandmother's ravioli was very good. The ravioli were cooked nicely, good balance of filling to pasta, and just the right amount of marinara sauce. Dessert was on another level! We shared the chocolate dessert for two. There are no words to describe the spicy chocolate gelato - think decadent chocolate with a hint of cinnamon and cayenne. The gelato was creamy and dense. The cocoa nibs at the bottom were a nice touch of texture. The food was wonderful. However, the service was so bad it almost ruined the meal. We left on a high note thanks to dessert.

Everything was perfect for my business meeting a long time friend. I was able to give the host my card and made sure bill was taken care of prior. The location is excellent. We have had some salad to start with and canellono which was very good. My wife has ordered pasta, also excellent and tasty. I have had a black bass which was not cooked well and the fish was not fresh, it had a taste of rubber. Although I have made a comment to the personell no reaction was showed. We enjoyed the dessert, rhubarber crostata the wine - Vermentino toscano and a glass of Aglianico. Competent wine suggestions of the people in charge. All in all we enjoyed our stay, the starter, dessert and the pasta were excellent. For the fish I would expect to revise the offering. All the best for the further development of this NY beauty and regards from Switzerland.

I attended a wedding shower there the first time and the food was so delicious that I went back for dinner with a spedial date. We were totally not disappointed. The person I was with is not really a foody like me but was really blown away by the dishes we choose. The first entree we picked was not what we thought it was and they took it back and brought us a second choice and it was spectacular. We both enjoyed the experience there.

Poor service started with not being allowed to order appetizers while we were deciding on the main course. Should have walked out and saved the $300 but I tried to keep an open mind. This place is hugely popular and they know they have no need to make the experience customer friendly. It's take it over leave it mentally and the mediocre food makes me wonder what all the fuss is about. Soggy crostini. Soggy sliders with the slider bun overwhelming the tiny meatball. Flavorless steak tartare. It's all cold and industrial cuisine with a haughty attitude. it's trendy so that's important to some. But they do get you in and out as quickly as possible so they can treat as many customers as possible to their charmless service and mediocre cuisine.

Although we were seated in an area a little separated from the main dining area and had a table of very loud ladies behind us, we enjoyed our evening at this neighbourhood restaurant. Marcus our waiter was very knowledgeable and walked us through the menu in a very professional way. The dishes we ate we all well cooked and tasty.

The space was nice, but the food and service was overrated. We called as a courtesy to say we were running 10 minutes and the staff member rudely told us we had 15 minutes grace before they gave up our table. Then she was rude when taking our coats, interrupting our conversation by thrusting a ticket into his face and saying 'coat-check' before marching off. The delays between each course was interminable - over 1/2 hour after we had finished a course before the next appeared. The food was fine, not fancy and we were left hungry, despite spending over $150 on the meal of 2 entrees and 2 mains.

I was somewhat worried about taking my partner (her first time in NYC) to Locanda Verde. Some websites had numerous occurrences of diners complaining about poor attitude of the waiters and staff. \n\nBut, from the moment we arrived I could see that wasn't going to be the case. The front desk team were cordial, if a bit reserved at first, but graciously honored, with a smile, our request for a different table. Our server - Grace - was nothing but friendly, sweet down to earth and accommodating from the outset: she fielded every question we had and made the whole experience truly delightful. \n\nAnd the food was very, very good. For starters, we ordered a crostini - more like a charred olive oil infused bread than the crunchy crostini that we're used to seeing - with a smooth herbed sheep's milk ricotta dip and a bowl of crushed potatoes with shallot butter & grana padano. Delicious. For the mains, I ordered the Lumache (shell pasta) and my partner had Grandmother's Ravioli, filled with beef, pork and veal. Both were very good, but the pasta itself was perhaps a touch on the al dente side for my taste. I also felt the passata to be a wee bit without personality: that being said, it normally comes with spicy lamb sausage and I am a vegetarian, so that may explain that. Overall, though, the food had us swooning and the discrete and unassuming service was a real pleasure.\n\nI had casually mentioned that we were there for my partner's birthday, and Grace and her colleague brought out a complimentary gelati torta that was so rich, I mistook it for mascarpone. Wonderful. And we had already ordered a delightful semifreddo, so we were well taken care of.\n\nWith wine, our bill came out to a little over $100 and was worth every cent. We both left, waxing about the quality of the food, our servers and the dark, but homey inviting décor. We would definitely return.

I came from Spain for a 1 week stay in NY and I booked Locanda for Sunday Brunch as a special ocassion. I felt really dissapointed. Place is beautiful, but food and service are really poor. Given the prices your restaurant charge, food should be delicious, and its not the case at all. No need to have a large menu, yours is simple and thats ok, but food.... is simple too, sorry to say. Orange bread completally burned, and frittata... well, we had to dive on it to find a piece of something, vegetables were mising, we found onion skin on it but only 2 pieces of courgettes il all the frittata. Tomate was delicious but clearly not enough to fix the plate. And service was poor and slow, and not very helpful. I dont think I have the chance\nTo come back to NYC so Please understand I am not looking for a compensation. I just want to share with you my dissapoinment. Worst meal in the city. :(

Loved it!. Everything was delicious, and for some unknown reason the chef sent us a complimentary dish, which was more delicious than the one's we ordered. Maybe for this restaurant's standard the food was talking long, or maybe it did but we were having such a good time that we didn't notice it. Not sure what was it, but I was happy for it!!!. Service is very nice but could not overcome a slow kitchen and cramped seating. God help you if you are a party of 4 and you don't get a 4 top. The booths are not for tall people with long legs. Food quality is very good but portions are small and very expensive. I would return for lunch but not again for dinner.

Locanda Verde is always excellent but sometimes it's spectacular!! The wine list is stupendous. The Chicken is the best in the city. All the flavors are those clean beautifully balanced flavors of Italy. The only thing that is inconsistent is the hostess/waiter. Sometimes they can be as charming as the decor and the food sometimes not so much.

The food was extraordinary. Exquisite pancakes, sublime hot chocolate, forceful, yet not overwhelming, bloody mary. The only concern was that one dish came out of the kitchen too salty, but the waiter promptly remedied that.

We have a real fondness for Locanda Verde as we got married in their private room, but this was not our favorite dining experience at the restaurant. First, we were seated at a table directly behind the hostess stand, so that was loud/distracting and the table was wobbly. Second, the service seemed off. The water refills were too aggressive and disruptive. And, the server removed our plates and silverware in the middle of our appetizer course, which was odd. Finally, some of the food was excellent, but I would not order one of the pasta dishes (the Lumache) again. The marinated beets were wonderful and the ricotta crostini is a sure bet. Finally, the robiola cheesecake was quite good, but had one element (the apple agrodolce) that simply tasted bad. Overall, we like the food and may return on anniversaries, but we won't be regular diners.

The food is delicious and very well prepared. The menu options seem so delicious that it's difficult to choose. I will definitely come again. Only caveat is that things can add up pretty quickly. My wife and I easily hit $130 for brunch - (just one Bloody Mary!) - so order with care :)

The ricotta appetizer was absolutely the best part of the meal by far and away. I ordered one of the special Trufflepalooza entrees... polenta with sausage... and this Northern Italian can tell you unequivocally... it was blah. The $ 200 bottle of wine was very good but the restaurant had nothing to do with making it. Plus, after arriving at the table to show me the bottle... he leaves with the bottle and comes back with it opened... really? This place is trendy for the trendy who, for whatever reason, want to say they've been there... certainly not because they're professional or deliver a good product.

The food and atmosphere were awesome. I was a little surprised they did not have a kids menu so I ordered the pasta with red sauce (for my twins) and I asked them to split it with butter on one half & red sauce on the other. They said they codnt split it with 2 different sauces. Really? I then ordered a salad and I asked the waiter if they could add chicken. He said I'm sorry we can't. Again- really??? The chicken brunch portion was so large that I ended up eating half of my sister in laws chicken anyway. The food was great and I loved the atmosphere. I just think a little flexibility would be nice.

I love how they treated us to a celebratory glass of champagne for my girlfriend and I's one year anniversary. It meant alot to us because we tried to go here on just our second date in November 2014, but didn't have reservations. So I surprised my girlfriend with this dinner there for it. \nOnly complaint is I wish there were more food options. For an expensive, high class place, wish they had more entrees .

If you want a quiet and nice place this restaurant is absolutely not for you. We were there for lunch on Saturday (1:30 pm) and it was loud as hell. Actually, comparing to this place a McDonald's on Times Square may be considered tranquil. So if you want to enjoy your food in a calm and respected manner or have an actual conversation with your companion -- this is not the right place. The food is seems pretentious and yet tastes average. The menu is very limited (no soups, for example). The hostesses are not quite friendly (surprisingly, this place is often overbooked). They refused to seat me twice (I did have a reservation) because my friend was late and they didn't want to seat just me (ridiculous). In a word, it wasn't terrible but I will not go there again and refrain from recommending this place to any of my friends.

Wow, the food is just so good here. We try to enjoy a meal here every time we are in the City. The beef tartar is the best we have ever had, anywhere in the world. It's enough to go and have just that, it's so good. My only gripe is the beer selection is limited (no Guinness). Make a reservation, it can sometimes be crowded. LOVE Locanda Verde!!!

The wine, salad, pasta, meat are prepared in that simple yet elegant Italian style. I thanked God in heaven when I ate my first mouthful of the arugula fig salad with a white from Tuscany. Perfection. \n The waitstaff are warm and charming like the food. Don't be put off by the girls at the front. They are a bit hardened by hungry Newyorkers.

The food, service and decor were all lovely but I went to meet an old friend for lunch and we practically needed to shout at one another to be heard. It was exhausting. The cavernous space and hard surfaces really don't do much to absorb ambient sounds. Between babies crying, boisterous tourists conversing and and power lunchers crowing, we humble diners didn't have a chance. Go for lunch only if you're comfortable being louder than the rest. \n\nI did enjoy using Apple Pay for the first time using the Open Table App. That was a bonus.

Me and my coworker went there for a lunch. We had pasta. So tasty and creamy. The home made ice cream is the best. This place is definitely worth going! Our servers were attentive. While booking I put a note to surprise my coworker with a cake or ice-cream as we went on her birthday and they did give her a surprise with the best ice cream She said she ever had. Locando Verde is a nice Italian restaurant indeed!

We were seated in a great spot , very considerate because it was a special occasion. The waitress paired us with a wine for our entrees. We orderd 3 appetizers and unfortunately they all arrived at once so we felt a little rushed. The ricotta was delicious but didn't need the extra ciabatta. The ravioli was too al dente and could have been a little warmer. We think they had to hold off since we were still trying to finish our small plates. No dessert of course because we were stuffed. Great start but not as memorable as I would have liked. Great service and appreciated the table cleaning.

I love the overall feel of the restaurant however I have to say that I wish they have meat substitutions to their brunch selections. Two of us in the party don't eat pork and we couldn't get substitutions so we were stuck with just the bread and two poached eggs. We ordered the Uevo Mordeno and we were looking forward to the hash brown that came with it but it was cooked with the pork dish. Maybe we will try it again at lunch and see.

Was absolutely blown away by the nuanced craftsmanship of every single dish we tried! Went for brunch with my hubby on a Saturday at 10:30 - it was busy but not so rammed that we couldn't talk to each other or move our elbows. \n\nThe waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. The food was some of the best I have ever had. Started with the Ricotta with burnt orange toast and I am pretty sure it ruined regular food for me. I wanted to lick the bowl.

We chose Locanda Verde for an anniversary dinner based upon its reputation for great food and its location just a couple of blocks from our vacation rental, and we are so glad we did. We arrived at 9:30 for a 10:00 reservation and were seated right away. The atmosphere was refined but warm and casual, and the bar was hopping. We enjoyed well crafted cocktails while exploring the menu.\n\nWe started with blue crab crostini, piled high with crab meat. The sommelier helped select a red that was the perfect compliment for both the halibut with tomato vinaigrette and the pasta with rabbit sausage. The halibut, with heirloom squash, was tender and cooked just right. The rabbit sausage was beautifully seasoned and the caciocavallo cheese made the pasta creamy without overwhelming the dish.\n\nIt was nearly impossible to choose just two of the desserts. Both the cheesecake with roasted strawberries & lemon basil sorbetto and the chocolate sourdough torte with poached pear and amaro gelato were heavenly. \n\nThe service at Locanda Verde was excellent. The only room for improvement would be to allow diners to order appetizers with their cocktails while they consider the menu - our server told us the entire food order had to go in at once. The cocktails were potent, and some food for balance would have been appreciated. Also, the restaurant is vibrant - not quiet. Enjoy it with your date, but know that you won't be heard if you're whispering sweet nothings.

We finally managed to dine here recently on a Fri. evening. Quite busy at 6pm, but we were seated promptly. We started with the salted ricotta and burrata appetizers. the appetizers and crostinis were exceptionally well thought out and definitely the highlights. pasta dishes were quite good, but not as memorable or beautiful. we did not order any entrees. but every appetizer we had was marvelous and delightful. perfectly cooked asparagus and pork belly, and wonderously truffle-y steak tartare with the perfect elvel of acidity. a lovely meal. service was good as well especially when compared to other carmellini restaurants. this one takes the cake.

While all the food was great, the fresh linguini with Bolagnese sauce was out of this world. Could eat it everyday. The service was good and friendly, but despite the fact we were there at 2:30, was a little slow and the waitress was slightly inattentive. We were not in a hurry, but we were hungry so a little disappointing. Once we were able to order the food was timely. The ambiance is stylish with a subtle Tuscan theme. Was fine for a late lunch, but a little loud. Would not go for a really romantic dinner, but a great spot for fantastic food and lively ambiance.

Had a 10am reservation for brunch on a Saturday morning and was shown to our table immediately upon arrival. My husband enjoyed a bloody mary that had herbaceous notes and a faint anise flavor. I loved my Sheep's Milk Ricotta with truffle honey and orange toast. The truffle lends an intense savory earthiness to the honey which elevates the ricotta to superstar ethereal status. I wish I could eat it everyday. Absolute perfection.\nMy husband had the Zucchini Frittata with goat cheese, zucchini flowers and roasted tomato. As zucchini flower zealots, this was a delicious springy treat! \nService was professional, efficient and unobtrusive. I will go back for that ricotta dish every time I'm remotely close to the city!

He went to New York last year from Sweden.\nI am alreday 67 years old but the restaurant is an excellent place either you are young or old.\nThe place is beautifully furnished. We have been to Locanda Verde a few times now for brunch and it has yet to disappoint. We love the pastry selections before brunch, fresh and hot! Our server was clearly confused by the tip as it was a split bill, and we left cash as well as CC tip- and was clearly 'annoyed' while we finished our coffees after she looked over all of the receipts and then proceeded to be quite short with us, though we felt the 18% tip was definitely adequate for the service provided. No matter- we would definitely rec'd and will be returning.

The menu was my only gripe, but it was a big one. The decor is classy, the service fine and the food excellent. Unfortunately, I don't eat cheese or pork and don't care for game and that left almost nothing else to order. They manage to sneak cheese and/or pork into almost every dish, which I find ridiculous (I normally do fine at Italian restaurants, despite my diet). At those prices, one should rest assured that there will be a good choice of entrees for any non-vegetarian. The one chicken dish on the menu was a whole chicken with root vegetables for 2 persons and one of the others graciously agreed to split it with me. It's really enough for 4, so half of it ended up in a doggy bag. The one dessert we shared was great and the others looked wonderful as well. I would go back for a drink and dessert at their beautiful bar, but I wouldn't go back for a meal. Having said that, the others at the table, who eat everything, loved their dishes.

The service was inconsistent. Our waiter disappeared for the first 15m, took our drink orders then disappeared again. The food came out not that great -- the squash in my egg dish was under-cooked, the eggs were overcooked, and it was expensive to boot. The waiter didn't check on the food at all. I was really excited to try this place, but I wish I wouldn't have.

I had been to Locanda Verde for brunch way back when it first opened several years ago and was unimpressed. I had no interest in going back but a friend suggested we meet there for brunch before the holidays, and the restaurant redeemed itself in my book: the service was on point and the food was superb. I don't know what changed, but arranging a brunch for a group of 7 family & friends there was a big mistake. The service was awful. The hostesses were rude and suffered from an extreme case of RBF, plates were cleared before we were finished eating, and we were rushed out altogether. The menu had changed and the food wasn't nearly as good as my previous experience. The place is inconsistent, and I certainly won't waste my time or $ going back.

Small tables and relatively expensive brunch fare - but worth it for the ambiance and delicious dishes. My kids' favorite is the lemon ricotta pancakes while i always head towards the fritatta. Big portions can be shared. Attentive service and attractive setting in a great neighborhood makes this a family favorite. Don't miss the fresh-from-the oven glazed chocolate doughnut. We split it four ways :).

My friend and I went for a celebratory lunch, and the menu options were extremely disappointing. It consisted of donuts, fruit and vegetable juices, and mostly breakfast items like eggs, pancakes, and French toast. My friend ordered a $14 red wine, and she received 1/3 glass portion. I had a $10 spinach and kale juice and it was served in a watered down 8 ounce glass. The few lunch entrees available were not appealing to us. We each ended up ordering the $22 pumpkin ravioli. When we received our entrees, there were 6 tiny raviolis on my plate and it was not filling at all so we asked for more bread. The focaccia bread was delicious and it was the highlight of the meal. \n\nThe meal was expensive ($90 for 2), which is fine if it was worth it. However we were extremely disappointed with our meal and left unsatisfied. Portions are too small for the average person-- best for models or people who eat rabbit portions. Two hours later, I had to get a snack again. \n\nI would not recommend this place, nor will I ever return there.

Ricotta pancakes were perfect. Fluffy, sweet and perfectly accompanied with blueberries and powdered sugar. The roast porcetta sandwich was rich yet not too heavy to make it a terrific bunch choice. Juice drinks were reasonably priced (as compared to other places in NYC) were a bit small but delicious. \nWe will be back for sure.

Nothing,\nwell, maybe, wine is Italian, although charging $21 for a (small) glass\nof an average Barolo is partially Italian - wine is Italian, \ncharging $21 for it is not.\n\nServers are weird. They talk to you like you supposed to fall down on your knees\nand thank God you are allowed to be here. You know, kind of like a fake priest,\nspeaking with a “priest” accent? Reciting the “know-by-heart” ingredients\nin every dish? Awful. Let me tell you - if there is one thing Italian - \nit’s HONESTY. Yeah, we are loud. We are sometimes annoying. But we are not fake.\n\nThey also have no idea what real Italian food is. A seafood soup on the menu -\nI’m asking - is it a cioppino? Sorry, it’s an Italian seafood soup.\nYou know what a cioppino is? All they know is what they learned by heart. \n\nA daily “special” pasta dish shows up and it’s reheated. Pasta - reheated.\nAre you f#$%^in kidding me? Serving a reheated pasta dish in Italy would be\nthe same as trashing your favorite football, sorry, soccer team.\nBlack linguini - the server had no idea what “black” means - shows up light green\nwith some extra crunchy cover. Crunchy? On my black pasta? Have you ever been to Venice?\n\nOk, now to a star - my seafood soup. It’s a bunch of so-so ingredients in water\nwith a strong vinegar taste. Where is this weird vinegar taste coming from?\nWell, chef decided to add a few pickle onions to it. You know, when you buy\nsome pickles and there is a few red little onions there? Yeah, this guy thought\nit’s a good idea to add those to a cioppino. Speechless.

Over the course of many visits have tasted and savored the Uovo Al Forno, Shaved Porchetta Sandwich, Zucchini Fritatta, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, French Toast & Waffles. All highly recommended. And 'let's not forget KILLER desserts! So consistently good on all counts, keeps us coming back again and again!!

The service was so bad and so rushed that I can't write anything good, even about the food or decor. This is my second time to Locande Verde with the same experience. Half way through our appetizer course, a person (not our server) came to our table and asked if we were ready for our main courses. She could see that we were not even half way finished with our salads. We said no, so when we were actually ready for the the main courses, they came to us cold. We sent them back and the server said he would have them made again. When he came back he said they were 'reheated'. Yes, microwaved!! Don't waste your money. The place is all hype, punctuated by the throng of paparazzi out front.

I've eaten here many times and am always amazed at the consistency and flavor of the food. I've had the steak tartar at least five times over the year and it is always a home run. Other items are very good as well. \n\nThe ambiance is warm and friendly. The hostess staff is eager to please and appropriately bright for a restaurant of this quality.\n\nI like the little touches. For example when you come in there are two sets of doors and then a heavy curtain. This keeps the cold air from sweeping into the place and making customers uncomfortable. A small touch but shows the kind of thinking throughout.

We were 15 mins late for our reservation and they were very accommodating seating us right away. Everything we ordered was delicious. I had the porchetta sandwhich and my wife had a baked egg dish with sausage. The vibe was super chill, trendy and fun but not pretentious. I love going here for dinner but had no idea it was this good for brunch. Definitely coming back!

What a wonderful experience! Attentive service and perfectly seasoned food. Courses were times perfectly and the server anticipated our needs and we never had to ask for a thing... This is a refreshing example of combined hospitality and exquisitely thoughtout, creative cuisine. Bravo. The Burrata may very well be the best I've ever had.

I was not nearly as impressed by brunch at Locanda Verde as I have been by previous dinners there. The egg dishes average at about $20, but are hardly worth the price. However, the restaurant has a nice vibe for brunch. Maybe the non-egg dishes are more exciting.

The ricotta lived up to the hype. Make sure you get it. The brunch pasta is mediocre. Not sure if it's actually handmade pasta. The uovo modense is done well but nothing too special. Just a classic slightly pricy eggs Benedict. The cotechino hash is just ground meat. Has a slightly weird chemical taste.

Came here years ago and wanted to return for a Sunday brunch during my NYC visit. Didn't have space, so settled for dinner instead. We had a warm welcome, a nice corner table, prompt service and in particular very good delicious food. Ambiance, interior and a window place made for the rest.... Great evening.... Will come back!

Chose this Italian restaurant because of decent reviews and close proximity to my daughters work. Take note that the hostess said we could not be seated until everyone in our party was in attendance. We wished to go ahead and order an appetizer and drinks while waiting a few minutes on our daughter but their policy would not allow paying patrons to do this, So we had to wait in the lobby on our daughters arrival. This immediately set for a somber tone to the start of a dinner visit with our daughter. Keep in mind that we were also told you must order everything at once. Well, after being seated we had a wonderful waiter that never mentioned this but we did order all after drinks as told by our hostess. Our party had the yummy autumn salad, cheese appetizer, trout, grandmothers ravioli and a seasonal pumpkin pasta dish. All were good but not excellent. Another thing, we ordered something extra, the mushrooms after we ordered earlier, so puzzled by their policy.
