About Meme Mediterranean on 10th
In 2010, brothers Alon and Jacob Cohen took on the West Village with a restaurant named for their mother, Mémé Mediterranean. Having emigrated from Morocco to Israel at a young age with his family, chef/owner Jacob pulls inspiration and influence not only from his mother’s own Maghreb cooking, but also classical training received in both Israel and France. Jacob’s menu creates a culinary trip around the Mediterranean using fresh ingredients and spices shipped directly from his mother, who still lives in Israel. After much success in the West Village, the duo is proud to open a second location of the same name in Hell's Kitchen. Keeping with tradition of great hospitality and good food, Méme provides a cozy atmosphere and flavorful dishes using Mémé Cohen’s own hand-ground paprika. Chef Jacob continues to impress with his culinary creativity and generosity.
