Pros: Children (below age 12) are welcome without a surcharge. Despite being next to the road, the location was quiet. The beds were neatly made, the furniture dusted, the floor was vacuumed and the room did not smell. I did not detect bed bugs, roaches or other pests that would indicate a poorly run facility. The bathroom had been cleaned, and clean towels were neatly provided.
Cons: The door was locked at check-in and the lady who served me was rather rude and not friendly or informative at all, nor did she respect my sense of privacy. The shower leaked and the shower curtain was too small so that the bathroom floor was always wet. The basin was too small, with nowhere to place your toothbrush container and toothpaste. The toilet paper appeared to have been dropped into the toilet and retrieved. There was no luggage rack on which to place your suitcase, and there were no amenities at all - not even a coffee maker. I was hiking in the Whites, and searched hotels in Ossipee which is quite nearby; Palmers is close to nothing and nowhere - at least an hour from the Whites, a good 45-50 min from Lk. Winnepesauke and no where near the seacoast. The parking area is not capacious enough for truckers, so besides me (Muggins) I am not sure what type of traveller would utilise this motel, and if I were not committed by the terms of the booking, I would have driven on home. I cannot recommend Palmers to anyone. "Chake" out is at 10 am, not 11 (this didn't matter to me, I was gone at first light).
