Great location, close to beach. Great food, very friendly English speaking owners. Everything you need for your beach trip is here and for a very good price. I really enjoyed my stay here an will return next time I’m in area. Highly recommended.

The place is run by an awesome family. The breakfast is delicious and they were be happy to satisfy guests' different food needs. Their restaurant is open to the public and their food is lovely. They upgraded me to a room with bathroom for the same price. Considering it's Myanmar the wifi worked pretty well, though it might not reach all rooms with the same signal strength

The nice family and the good breakfast every morning! Just 3 minutes from the beach and you can rent bicycles for free. The room was okay with a own bathroom.

Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable

It's true the family of Power Guest House is incredibly endearing, a true joy to be around and very helpful. The house belongs to the manager's mother, and her husband runs a boat trip company. We took a half day boat trip and it was nice to have him along as he is very knowledgable and can speak English very well. The grandmother (manager's mother) enthusiastically covered us in Thanakha in the mornings, and we were given more food than we could eat for breakfast. The coffee was only super sweet instant coffee, but the husband assured us he is purchasing a coffee machine soon and intends to serve the best coffee in the area. The little son played with us very nicely, and we had great conversations with the others staying there. They provide laundry services and are willing to help arrange bus tickets and airport pick up/drop off.

There was no hot water or wifi in the rooms. This was something we had to complain about before they moved us to a "nicer" room where there was warm-ish water with barely any water pressure at all. The drain in our bathroom was also situated at the other end of the room, so the water pooled around the toilet and stayed wet all day. There were no hooks or bars in the bathroom to hang our towels or clothes. We were only given thin blankets, which did not keep us warm. There is a buddhist chanting all night long, and pigs that wake you up in the morning if you stay towards the back of the guest house, and the noise from the street wakes you if you stay in the front. We decided to stay since the family was friendly, and the likelihood of finding another accommodation where the three of us could share a room was slim. Unfortunately can't recommend the boat tour either since when we took it the weather was bad so we didn't really see anything, and they just take you around to stare at the poor fishermen, then drop you on islands where you are awkwardly forced to spend money....It's true you can find much better accommodations close by for similar price. Perhaps if they lowered their nightly rate or updated their facilities a bit, it would be worth it though. Also the cleanliness of the bathrooms could be improved.
