Wonderful wonderful staff and location location location. The rooms were well appointed and in a style that suited the hotel. The balcony was a great place to get a lovely view of the sea. The rooms were larger then most European hotel rooms and air conditioned which made it very comfortable in the August heat. The public areas and dining rooms were very comfortable and charming. Good business center with easy access. The carpet in the halls made it hard to move luggage around and did not fit the period and style of the hotel. Some of the art didn't suit the hotel ambiance. The carpet in our room was very worn and old. The bathroom had chipped sharp tiles and had not been updated which was a little disappointing for the price point. We were also disappointed that no one informed of the beach facilities available.
The ambiance was nice- classic old style .The rooms were big and the view spectacular. Unfortunately the bath tub drain cover was not working so it required a nail file to remove the cover to drain the tub. This was repeated every day of our stay without the staff fixing it! The room was not cleaned on returning in the afternoon and we were told by reception that we had to call for cleaning !The wall tiles had black mould which Is really unacceptable in a hotel of this class.also, our room had chipped paint around doors and peeling wallpaper trim. All in all,This hotel needs revamping. On the plus side, the location is the best in Nice. The staff were very poor in responding to complaints - no apologies ever.My room smelled of mould ,to discover next day that there was a furnace type room opening into my closet, which did not have a door.On complaining ,I was given an excuse instead of an apology. Also, after staying 3 days,I was stopped by a security doorman on entering the lobby ,to question me if I was staying at the hotel. Very very upsetting and again ,after telling him yes ,no apology. Good staff should know the guests and be carful before causing an embarrassing moment. The service at breakfast was very poor and the buffet layout difficult to manage due to the tightness of the restaurant.
Historic building, beautiful lobby Rooms definitely need refurbishment
Very helpful staff; they even said "Have a nice stay" in my language that was amazing! Excellent localtion; place full of arts. You have a feeling that you stay in a museum but you really like it! Just spledid! Nothing, just perfect place.
Good taste and comfort all over + restaurant Chatecler - the best I ever experienced food/wines and ambiance. Nope.
Bad brekfast? bad plage, bad service, wery high preis - but only in this year
Perfect location, nice sea views, really interesting interiors. Some service points, at the reseption and consierge points.
the interior of the hotel is exelent, very historical! The restoran is also very doog! Service of the reception and also reception manager was full boor. We planed to stay 21 day- and changed the hotel to another one on the 2 day of our stay!!!
Hotel was great! Right off the beach, we had sea view. Rooftop pool was nice..
Nothing Room was extremely hot (AC not cooling), The hotel is not on the main road as claimed, The hotel did not honor my request to get a high floor room with seaview as it was a special day for my wife,
Arrangement, conveniences, a parking I travelled more, therefore was in hotel a little. It would be desirable to receive discounts for repeated visiting of the given hotel.
I like the location of the hotel A/C was not cooling, and I asked for repair but they did not respond
The rooms were too small eventhough calledvdekuxe
it has car parking it is very clean and comfort beds, i really like it i can recommend everyone to stay there..
It was a lovely luxary hotel for our honeymoon
sea view and design furnishing heating didn't work that much
Location, cleanliness, service staff
Restaurant was fabulous, Food lovely and new waitress on night very friendly and service excellent
The staff were exceptionally helpful, allowed us to check -in to our room early on the day we arrived and paying discrete but thoughtful attention to our needs at all times.
- Very nice and clean hotel - Friendly and helpful staff - 150m from bus stop to the airport, 10 minutes walk to Nice Ville railway station and about 20 minutes walk along the coastline to the historic center of Nice
Very stylish, modern and clean!
The staff was friendly and helpful, nearby there's a supermarket and you're so close to the beach and the centrum of the city. The rooms are small, but they were nice, fresh and clean so that didn't matter.
Staff were fabulous. Hotel is a superb alternative place to stay quirkiness of some rooms makes them slightly impractical. might be helpful to make clear this is not a good choice if you are travelling with children
The steam room in the hotel was quite nice. But for the rest this is the worst hotel that i have ever been in. Everything about the hotel is horrible. The design of the room is extremely uncomfortable. The toilet is right in the middle of the room with no doors (and its a bouble room). So is the shower. You are right there on display. You have no drawrers to put yous clothes in. So your stuff just lays around on the floor. There are no hooks for the towels so they are right there on the floor as well. No mini bar. No room service. And the price for the room is just unreasonable. They called it the new luxury. Thanks. Id rather stick with the old one.
Very lovely beautiful hotel. nice terrase and 5 min nto the beach, the beach is elegant and relaxing.
Excellent service, modern design and very comfortable beds. The design of the rooms looked impressive however was not always 100% practical. There is limited privacy whilst using the bathroom and it's quite noisy so difficult not to wake a friend / partner when using bathroom at night. Also a shelf positioned on top of sink makes it very hard to wash your face without hitting your head!
the bed was very comfortable, the shower area was exceptional and the organic breakfast was good the unfortunate size of the room - too small the choice of music at breakfast was not condusive to the effective recovery of a hangover
Friendly hotel staff The in-room toilet
Organic Breakfast and internet access Room was too small therefor not functional with a bath tube in the middle of the room
It was unique in comparison to other hotels. Staff were very helpful and dedicated to serving their customers needs. Overall an excellent experience. The main point would be the exposed toilet in our room, as we found our main problem was having to go downstairs to the public toilet!
No coments!!! Everything was perfect!!! The breakfast was too poor and during our holliday without changes !!!
Very charming and professional staff at hotel - sadly not on private beach!
Nice ratio quality/price during the automn period. Perfect location: 5 min to the beach, 20 min to the train station. Now there is a hair dryer in the bathroom (in contrast to the previous references). The rooms should be cleaned much better!! The personnel for cleaning rooms is not very polite. The furniture is old. There are no clothes hangers in the wardrobe. The wifi access is just downstairs, in the hall.
The cleanliness of the room and facilities at economic prices It was a one day stay only
Clean n close to to the promenade des anglais and about 25 minutes walk from the city centre. It was my second time in Locarno :) old furniture, but thats ok :)
Quick hot water, free Internet access, easily accessible, reasonably priced hotel with shops and cafes nearby. The young ladies offering their services immediately outside the entrance to the hotel (2 of 3 nights).
Nothing special, nothing to mention, except the pricing. The rooms are too old. The breakfast was poor, better go outside.
good location for a small amount of money could be refurbished
price and staff Room number 27 or 26 (the one near the elevator) smells awfully. The price would be fair if there were no such a smell. The smell made us think that the room is not that clean and it all was very annoying.
The location of the hotel was great and the staff was very willing to make recommendations of nearby restraunts Elevator was outdated and took awhile to use
Excellent garage. Friendly efficient staff. Reasonable price. Good air conditioning. Good breakfast facilities. Cockroaches and termites in the bedrooms. Fortunately not a problem particularly for me, but I know others would be very shocked. Hotel rooms were a bit shabby and in need of decoration.
Friendly staff The hotel was 'a dump'. I did not expect much for the money however it was very run down. the shower opened directly onto the carpet which in turn was rotten and there were stains all over the carpet.
Large room with full kitchen and balcony overlooking garden. Busy street by bedroom but when the windows were shut, you could'nt hear anything. Also a separate a/c unit in bedroom which was nice. It was quite a long walk to the heart of Nice where the main square was located. Also, at night, many prostitutes walked the neighborhood.
Absolutely nothing - apart from when we left....... See above.
The hotel is in a great location, it is off the main prom street and it is very quiet during the night, so no problem getting to sleep. Maybe I missed this when booking, but the bed was a sofabed, and if I realised this i may not have booked, in saying that the bed was ok and was comfortable. The apartment was smaller than expected. minor complaints though.
Nice staff, situated near the beach and restaurants As above I didnt know that the studio had only the sofa/bed, in the evening there was no hot water and after having complained I was informed of that I had to turn on the hot water myself.
A spacious modern apartment, well located for the beach and promenade. There's a supermarket a short walk away, as well as frequent bus services to the city centre and railway station (1 Euro flat fare). Transfer from and to Nice airport is very quick and easy (route 98 bus - 4 Euros). There's some excellent shopping to be had in the town centre, plus many superb restaurants in the Cours Saleya. We had a studio apartment with a sofa bed - this was very uncomfortable and creaky, and certainly took it's toll after a few nights of unrestful sleep. I'd probably invest in a one bedroom apartment next time.
Location near city. The carpet was wet. The elevator damaged on the first day.
Space Distance from Centre
Grest to be so entral and independent because of good self-catering facilitis
Location Hotel room is dirty and disorderly. In suit room has no bed. You have to sleep on sofa-bed. Car park price is 15€ per night but it is very narrow and useless. When arrived the hotel I had one reservation but receptionist told me that i have 2 reservation. If i cancel one of them, i have to one night price. When i called the booking.com call center, they confirmed me.
Everything was excellent. Very good equipment in the kitchen. Nice view from the balcony. Quiet surrounding. Fast internet. Good location – close to the bus stops and walking distance to the center. Very professional staff at the reception desk.
Good location, friendly hotel staff, ect. -
The breakfast is very good. The hotel is well localized. The reception is not opened 24h.
The value for the money, when comapred with other hotels in Nice. Proximity to the beach. The distance from the main tourist areas, no bus running after 9PM, therefore you must walk kilometers to return after a nice dinner in the old town.
Room was good with sleeping for 2 adults and 2 small children. There was a kitchenette. We went to the pool but it was freezing and there was no hot tub so it was a big disappointment. With the exchange rate parking and breakfast the rate was 120 euros. I felt it was expensive. Pool wasn't heated.
I was on business at the Monaco Boat Show
good location. 1 minute from the beach. fridge in the room is a very good thing too. underground parking for 30 per week. if you are travelling by car and don't want to spend a lot of money eating at restaurants - this is for you ask for a room with the terrase and not facing the street, because it's too noisy even with windows closed.
it is close to the sea, promenade des anglais, casino supermarket, and some nice restaurants. the pool was nice also. the staff should be stricter on the troublemakers.
The location of the hotel is a bit far from decent restaurants and the old town.
Room was clean and comfortable. Excellant positon for beach and the promenade. No
great that it has kitchen, so you can eat in the room, wireless internet, a very good location, 30min walk in promenada and you are in the center or you can take bus and in 10-15min you are in the center, clean rooms, a good staff. only that there is no hair dryer in the room, and there are limited numbers of you can rent, which i couldnt rent all were taken.
Walking distance to everthing
Good Bed. Poor breakfast for the price. Not enough space for guests to sit for breakfast when weather inclement.
The owners were very kind and concerned about giving the best to their guests. The accomodation was very confortable and clean in a very quiet village. Great place.
Lovely quiet breakfast area outside
the city of nice is a most pleasant environment but at times can be extremely expensive. hotel denmark, if it can maintain a reasonable price structure, makes a visit economically viable. perhaps a little difficult to find.
Very kind and friendly service, i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good location, about 10 - 15 min walk from the centre. Shower is quite small, but decent overall for backpackers
The room was well sized. The bathroom was a tack on to the room. The shower was full of mould. There was no aircon in the room which was needed.
Receptionist was fantastic. Really helpful guy, gave us a welcome drink when we got there and was very keen to help us out at every opportunity. He also had a sese of humour which was great. The room and hotel were very pleasant, the breakfast was fine. It was a bit of a walk from the beach which surprised us when we got there - it is advertised as right up close. This also wasn't compensated by being near to anything else. But it wasn't too bad.
perfect location. the security was a little lapse, anyone could have walked in and picked up a key from reception as there was (mostly)no one at the desk.
The room was large, comfortable and clean. Parking was included. The hotel is located well back from the street and was very quiet. Be aware there is no elevator (which did not bother us).
The owner was wonderful and spoke fluent English. The room was big compared to European rooms in this price range. The garden was beautiful. A wonderful place to stay in Nice. Not far from the sea but far enough away from the noise. The bathroom shower was very small.
Clean, quiet. Room not large but not tiny. Modern bathroom. Very nice garden with tables and chairs for relaxing. Staff pleasant and helpful. Just a few blocks from the seaside. I will return.
the attitude of the staff, the charm of the villa and its garden and the relation between the price and the value received none
The staff were friendly and courteous. They were very patient with our limited French. The hotel was accessible by bus number 23 from the airport. If you are like us and are okay with the 15-minute walk to the main shopping district and the 30-minute walk to the old town, this hotel is a good budget option. Was not a major issue for us, but the towels were hard and a bit old.
Great bath and heating after wet days!breakfast brought to room
Lovely old-style atmosphere. Secluded hotel, very well positioned. The hostess was lovely and breakfast was great. Room was a little musty, but no big deal at all.
Nice hotel staff The matras was old . They should change.
Good placement, in the center of Nice and just a short walk from the beach. Rooms somewhat run down, although bathroom in our case was ample and renovated. It seems the hotel is under a slow renovation process which is still ongoing. No lift, although it was not a problem for us; parking is small but sufficient.
Well located by the beach Room was to small and the shower room was old and cramped.
Nice relaxed atmosphere, helpful staff. I liked teh brekfast room. It felt more like a hostel. If you put in a refrigerator and a stove you could affer self catering and be fully booked with backpackers. Was there an inner yard also? some construction work was going om No elevator or airconditioning: but what can you expect in a budget hotel?
To be honest I got better room in some hostels...the location of the Med Hotel is really nice just one block from Negresco and the Promenade seaside. That's the only positive point. I recommend that hotel for backpackers only. the room was very small and with the view on a wall...
Location location location ! The location is next to seaside, restaurants, center and train station. Value for money. Rooms are clean. The young receptionist lady was so nice and helpful, the others were OK.
The location is super: it is right behind Negresco Hotel, 1 block away from the sea, and the street is well lighted at night, very safe. Right beside the hotel, there is a food store, a backery, and a restaurant----and they are all of good quality and relatively low price. The 98 bus to airport has a stop on the main road 2 blocks aways from the hotel. The wireless internet connection is very fast
It's a nice hotel in general for this price. Good location and lovely bath staff in toilet room. Fresh towels almost every day.
Really nice staff, good price and excellent location
I would have rated the staff excellent if it wasnt for the rudeness of the night porter. Day and evening vere helpful and very friendly, room was nice, very clean and quiet.Location was great!! the night porter, his nasty attitude may stop me staying there in future.
shame it's not very clean in the room but reception staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Location Ease of Check-In Able to store bags/backpack post-checkout Sewage backdraft smell after flushing toilet
The cleaner came in every day and left the room in a nice condition. The Hotel staff were rude and unhelpful. The receptionist (when there which was not often) never said hello and I always felt unwelcome by him. At the end of my trip a small misunderstanding lead to him shouting in my face.
Great location. Room was clean.
Very clean. Good location in the center (5 min walk to the beach, 1 min to supermartket, 5 min to shooping & restaurant street). No parking.
They function as a good hotel. Relatively cheap and still clean.
The hotel is very basic (and old), however it is well located and the price is very reasonable. We stayed there for one night in between other hotels and was ok for that.
It was very comfortable and bright, and the manger was very, very kind. The price was excellent and it was within walking distance of great sights, the gare, and the beach. The hallway on the 2nd floor where my room was located was a bit dark, but it was manageable.
The maid would come in daily and clean the bathroom and change the sheets on the bed every day. the hotel manager did lend us his iron to use when we needed it as ours didn't work. The older man in the hotel and his wife were very nice. Bedroom and bathroom both smelled damp and musty had to buy alot of febreeze to make the room smell better, and the carpets were filthy dirty, as were the walls, all the paint work and curtains. the younger man working in the hotel reception was very offish, didn't smile or speak. You were supposed to leave your room key in reception when you left the hotel to go out, the area wasn't secure.
Friendly and Helpful, Great Location.
Location is important to me and the room is relatively large. The room no.7 locates adjacent to a busy room junction and is therefore quite noisy. The bath room is too small and the utilities provided in the bath room have rooms for improvement.
The hotel has a perfect location, its right behind the famous Negresco hotel. The room size is ok, better than in most french hotels. The room is cozy and nice, feels pretty much like home. The bathroom is extremely small, you literally are not able to take a shower without knocking your forehead at the wall. The street is nosy, couldn't sleep with an open window.
