We got a good deal for the 'Privileged room' and we were given an upgrade to the next level as it was out of season and they had the ability to offer it to us. Was great to have a large room for a few days. Close to the beach and loads of shopping, restaurants, cafes and the stop for the hop on hop off tour bus. They had all the flyers of tourist things at the counter. Wifi was good. No TV reception for english channels.
Location No parking facilities offered to guests, however there is a public parking with preferred rates overnight
The availability and efficiency of the staff. The quality of the infra-structure, atmosphere of the hotel and its location. The room bathroom could be equipped with more towel hangers. During breakfast it would be best if the service staff would not start cleaning the room (washing the chairs, etc.) while people are finishing their meal. It disturbs a bit the breakfast experience.
Staff is very friendly, breakfast was excellent, hotel in general (colours, furniture...) Room for breakfast is too small for so many people
We were made very welcome and the Hotel was very well placed for the park and shopping. The view was hardly inspiring.
Location was excellent I wouldn't say it was 4 star. It was very basic and tatty in parts.
Near to the City, clean room Room was very smal
I enjoyed the fact that the hotel was very central with easy access to buses and trains.
convenient location, not too noisy
Great location, very close to the Messena Place and the old town. Restaurants close by. Rooms are a decent size as far as French hotels go and for once the air conditioning actually worked. Staff spoke English and were helpful. We were only at the hotel for a quick overnight stay and didn't arrive until 9:30 pm so we didnt spend a long time in the hotel. Had breakfast in a cafe in the market.
Location was good and hotel's decor fun and kitschy. Small room.
The staff were friendly and helpful. They also spoke English very well. The room was clean and comfortable and the best feature was the location right on the water next to the flower market. The first room we were given overlooked a street where construction was being done. When we asked for a different room they very graciously moved us to one away from the noise.
The Location is the winner of this place. As with all hotels the rooms are bit small and are below similar rating of rest of Europe but nothing to get too upset about. overall the hotel is clean and tidy. I do remember the breakfast being very good for this type of hotel, a nice big offering. if you have a car, Nice can be a nightmare to park at weekends. thats not the hotel's fault though!
The staff at the desk were courteous, helpful and spoke very good English; one printed my boarding pass for the return to London. The breakfast room was cramped and while I understand service is expensive some guidance would be helpful.
The location was perfect for our needs, easy access to the airport, on the sea front, close to the Old Town and right beside the shopping and restuarant areas. The extractor fan in our bathroom did not work and when mentioned to the management nothing happened but we were only there two nights, in winter time and it did not impinge on our enjoyment.
The closeness to the beach and old town. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke good English which was contrary to reviews I'd read so fab!
The location was great ..right on the beach and the flower market behind. This was def. the best bit about the hotel. The room was ok and the air conditioning was great. It just felt very expensive for what it was considering you then had to pay another 13 euros for breakfast ! ( which we didn't !) The view from the window was terrible and we were right at the top of the hotel. The balcony had one chair and was covered in bird droppings. We were quite concerned about the fire regulations and how we would escape if we needed to !!! I think this is important to check out for people allocated the rooms at the top of the hotel.
excellent location, clean and comfort room, friendly staff
Location small room
Excellent location, ok service. Quite small rooms.
I liked everything, the room was very big, the sheets beautifully laundered.
The constant maid service became annoying. Even with the do not disturb sign on the door we were disturbed. The first morning we woke up to the maid walking in to our room. Though we appreciate they are trying to do their job, we were on holiday and felt like we were not allowed to relax in our hotel room.
Excellent location, very central; pleasant hotel and staff small, fairly dark room; small towels in bathroom; high payment to use internet
i liked the location which is in the heart of the city, close from the old town, shopping area, resturants and cafe, as well as the beach and massena square.
Not a lot Really only a 2 star
Nice environment, great location and great value of money. The room was a bit small but very clean and with modern decoration. Overall the best of this hotel is the location which is ideal and the value of money comparing to the services and the facilities which they provide.
Was upgraded on arrival to a renovated room. Room was lovely. The location of this hotel is excellent- minutes to the beach, market, etc, beside the shops and has the tram in front. Has the rooftop bar has best views in Nice.
Excellent location .Easy to access. Breakfast charge 20EUR/person! plus expensive internet charge. Usually at that room price, internet is free of charge.
Our room was upgraded for no extra cost I missed the possibility to make tea or coffee in the room
The location. The air circulation in the room was not very good. Therefore, it smelt sort of rotten (from the humidity).
Lovely room/decor attention to detail. Balcony superb Small room. Party on top floor was very noisy until after 3am. No hot water or air con on last day.
very comfortable room Would have preferred a wall mounted shower with the bath - hand held one was rather awkward.Didn't try the breakfast there as 15 euros is quite expensive. There are loads of places in the flower market just a couple of minutes away where you can get breakfast for about 7 euros.
The staff were very helpful, the bed was comfy and the view from the ocean view room was gorgeous. The location was great too. The lift was very small which made taking luggage up to the third floor a bit more difficult, but that's about all.
Fantastic location and excellent view from rooms etc
A room with a view! Superb. Would prefer Wi-fi in rooms, not just the ground floor, but not essential as we're on holiday!
Staff friendly and helpful. View was amazing, location great as easy access to everywhere. Rooms were small and the beds were smaller than a standard double and slopped toward the middle - my husband ended up sleeping on the floor he was so uncomfortable.
it was good location and nice view. there was not any car parking so we had to pay 15 euros per a night and the recepcionist was unfriendly.you have to carry your suitcase to your room.
the room, 32 on second floor, spacious, comfortable and fabulous view of the sweep of the promenade des anglais.
Helpful, friendly staff; location and view (sea side room); pricing, room and bathroom size. Unique bar area and large breakfast dining area. Great place to stay - highly recommended! No permanent shower/shower curtain (attached to wall) in bath. Bathroom was spacious, extremely clean, and recently updated.
The location of the hotle was outstanding lack of amenities
A very comfortable hotel with exceptionally helpful staff. All reception staff able to communicate in English which makes transactions much easier for nonFrench speaking guests.
room wasnt clean, very expensive but not equal with what u get for that money, a am very dissapointed
The location was good for the conference center, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was adequate. The bathrooms were dated.
The hotel is not far from the train station and close to the tram. The hotel is too expensive for what you get. The hotel is very old, the bathroom was falling apart, the area is far from every interesting thing. Based on my experience the night there should cost less than 60 euros.
Close to old town. Not too far from beach.Elevator. Great pastry shops nearby. Charges for everything - wifi, even safe. Only one outlet even in triplet.
Nicely situated to have as a base when visiting Nice and Monaco being just a short walk to Nice Port and 20 minute drive from Monaco. If you are travelling to the hotel by car be sure to reserve a space in the hotel underground car park when you book as parking around the hotel at street level is very overcrowded. All in all a good hotel, well priced and located. Lack of tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
All the staff at the reception were good professionals and very helpful. One was exceptional. My comments were taken into consideration without any question. The bar at night could be more welcoming. Music and some sort of welcome (There was rarely someone at the bar, maybe the receptionist performs both functions?)
Apogia hotel is located close to the center of Nice, 5 min walk away from the Acropolis Congress Center, nice breakfast, polite and friendly personnel Bad quality of the TV picture. But it's in my room only (#518) as far as I know.
Friendly Room a bit small for 2 plus 1 kid
Clean, efficient, professional staff, beautiful furnishings and facilities Swimming pool not big enough - guests were walking away due to not enough beds/space also our superior room was quite small - not enough room for two people really to move around comfortably but very good anyhow. We had booked specially a superior room in order to have more space very pricey though - all extras were very expensive (8€ for asmall beer round the pool! - 62€ for 2 club sandwiches!!)
Good Views, food and nice terrace High Cost
The pure luxury of the room, the location and the view from the balcony- all perfect!
Nice see view from deluxe room. Free champagne service on 14th July night at mutual terrace. Breakfast is hugely expensive. It should be at least half of current price.
Atmosphere, great bathrooms.
The room, view, location and staff at the reception The shower could not be used (handheld that had no mounting) which was a bit frustrating as everything else so lovely. Fridge light very bright at night.
The sea view room. Staff were excellent and very accommodating. Location of the hotel is wonderful and within easy reach of all the sites. The turn down service added a touch of luxury to the room. The cost of breakfast if not included in the room rate worked out expensive however cannot comment on quality of breakfast or value for money as didn't partake...
It's location, view, and quietness, and good staff. Breakfast is either a 21 euro buffet or nothing affair. I Would like a continental option or an a la carte option.
The view from the vindow infront of the elevator The view of the standard rooms, they look at the walls and rocks, the only daylight was coming from the ceiling of the patio. The rooms are very far to the entrance and the corridors have a wierd smell. The breakfast was so expensive which was 21 euros.
staff very pleasant at reception. price of breakfast.. didnt get it to expensive
Location Uncomfortable pull-out sofa bed supplied for 3rd person in room. Extra pillows requested 3 times never arrived, swimming pool is more like ornamental pool just off reception.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The best hotel staff I have come across so far. The terrace room was worth the money and the location of the hotel was good. The pool was good too. The internet and pay tv facility was well worth it as well. They could improve by getting better beds. Beds were quite small even tho we stayed in a superior room.
excellent staff, very helpful shower was not on the wall, but attached to the bath taps only
I came from italy and switzerland from staying at 4 stars hotel and this one dose not deserve even two. It had a dirty aspect the halls and the rooms.
transfer was well-organized.. dirty rooms, disgusting smell in the hotel, especially in rooms...
Good central location On site parking Swimming pool very small.
quiet and comfortable place
It was very central to all areas. The staff were very helpful.
location, location, location - excellent close to everything, the room was very clean and the air conditioning was working. Definetly would stay their again, and they had the option of a continental breakfast. We stayed 6 nights.
friendly staff, exellent arrangement,convenient room
the bed was comfortable we were not able to have any glasses to drink from, and the cleaner opened our door at 9.00 am hoping to clean the room,
Location is very good Friendly and quiet.
The location of the hotel was great for walking around the city. Lots of restaurants close by and the waterfront was just down the road.
Central location, tram stop 50 meters away (€1 fare). Good price for Nice WiFi service was intermittant with difficulty picking up the hotel's server (SFR and two others have stronger signals)
The location. Being right in the centre helped a lot especially with young children and when we asked for a larger room to accomodate a travel cot we got exactly what we needed. The air conditioning was dripping onto the carpet which the hotel was aware of before we arrived but was not fixed during our stay. Because of the heat we could not leave the air conditioning off and so we had to put towels underneath it to make sure the carpet didn't get too soggy. The hotel staff didn't seem concerned about this.
Location brilliant, very nice helpful staff, clean and old style
Nice hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Conveniently located in the heart of the city.
Wonderful included breakfast, very clean room (although small, as others have said). Location is a bit away from all the big attractions, but a large metro stop is next to the hotel so it was still very convenient. Location is a bit out of the way - but the metro stop makes it very easy to reach all the attractions. Small rooms.
Location. easy to go any places we wanted. Even though we requested to change wet towels in the bathroom but not during our stay.
Good location good breakfast
The only good point was its easy access to Acroplice, where our work was performed during my visit to Nice. 1) Hotel did not tell that breakfast would be charged, not free. Food was really very humbel with some bread, cheeze, ham, juice and coffee.. Hotel charged 9 Euro per. IF hotel tell me the breakfast will be charged, then I would not have breakfast there at all. 2) Room was not comforable at all and old.
nice staff telephone conection was not good.
Nothing in particular Room a bit stuffy but quiet so I could open a window. No pillow case on pillow the first night.
Small and cosy and conveniently situated for shops No shower head bracket on the wall and no grab handle as bath was a bit high.
good location very frendley staff, some road noise but not at nite everthing is a easy walk away as is the old town,98 bus to airport stops a 5minute walk away.
It was quiet, neat and near big parking lot No
Location was great, close to lots of restaurants, and a short walk to Old Town and the public beaches. Staff was helpful and freindly. We had a small balcony which was nice. Room was a bit plain, and fairly small for a "quad.".
Very friendly staff. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Small but very personable.
Parking facility makes it attractive. Altough the parking places are very narrow. the owner was very friendly and helpfull. Location is very close to the shopping street and to the old town Location is a bit challenging to get to by car because of the one way street system, but the hotel cannot do anything about this
George was very helpful. The hotel was comfortable and in a good location. I would have added an extra day but they were sold out.
It was central, welcoming and staff extremely helpful.
The hotel staff here were really friendly and helpful. A real bonus was having tea and coffee making facilities, which many hotels in Nice do not have. The location is excellent - near the old town, excellent shopping and an easy walk to the beach. There was a safe in the room but no mini bar or fridge. We paid a little extra for a larger room which was worth the extra money and had a large window facing over the street across one corner, making the room nice and light. Air conditioning worked well. The breakfast room was a little cramped but adequate, as were the breakfasts. The bed was reasonably comfortable.
The hotel was located in a convenient location; nice and helpful staff; coffee and tea making facilities in room. Good Wifi. Good A/C, so perfect for the hot weather. Hotel's parking lots are tiny, our car couldn't fit, but there is a public parking nearby. Our drain in the shower was clogged, so water overflowed, had to clean up the drain ourselves.
staff always present, lcd tv, position+++, big room, free internet, coffee in room only one coffe/day available im room, traffic noise in room on the road side, narrow band internet
Nothing! Was revolting, after dinner we did not want back to sleep there. Any hostels will be better than the Crillon, the bathroom was dirty, the bedroom was dirty, the bed was not even straight and the walls were dirty, old and in pieces;plus was very noisy that I think in the Hotel they rent rooms by the hours... Should I add anything else after what i wrote above?
I liked the location, it was situated on a great place where all the stores and restaurants are. It wasn't what I was expecting. The room was a little bit old and the air conditioning didn't work well.
Very comfortable hotel, great location, friendly staff. very nice atmosphere to hotel.
Location is very good. The lift is not reliable, sometimes it won't come up to the floor I stayed.
The kindness of the staff. service 24 on 24 h
* The young man on night duty was very helpful in helping us to get comfortable: the air conditioning in one of our two rooms didn't work - with temps. in the 90s - and he gave us his fan to help ameliorate our situation. *while old, the lift was just big enough to accommodate my daughter's wheelchair (a lighter smaller type: "Ti-light"), which was critical in making our stay possible. Aforementioned malfunctioning air-conditioner...
Good location and clean room
Very accessible for Central Nice, stoney beach & old town. Might have been the hot weather but the smell of drains & rotten fruit was off putting; although the bins are emptied & the roads are hosed down every night. The hotel had air conditioning but was on a low setting. We kept our windows shut as the noise of traffic was loud.
Friendly staff and good location between old town, the sea and the station. Room poky and not very clean. View over a load of air conditioning units meant I had to use the air con myself even when it was quite cool outside as with the window open bad odors came into the room. Breakfast measly and stale- not worth the price.
service and loction are good. too many mosquitos.
The location is the only good point; it's half way between the train station and the old town - very good location. The hotel room was very small. The room was very basic. The bed was really not nice. I was eaten alive by bed-bugs - horrible experience; big itchy dark red lumps on my hands because I slept with my hand under my pillow.. The bites are driving me mad 4 days later.. The bathroom was dull and tiny. The bath was literally 3 feet long; fine if you're Danny de Vito. There's no where to hang the shower head so you have to sit/squat and it's really uncomfortable.
Very friendly and competent staff Considerable noise from the adjacent night club on the street. Only affects rooms on the street side.
We liked most the front desk clerk named Julian. He was very nice with us and he helped us a lot. Yes. It was th fact that a woman from the front desk called us in our ckeck out day at 10.50 am to tell us that the check out is 11.00 am. We knew that from the first day and I think that she was kind of rude.
location Staff is extremly unkind, speaking only French, rooms are old and dirty, bathroom is in the terrible condiition.
beliggenhed Internet access was promised but did not work and had tobe done in the breakfastroom .. not in the room itself
the bathrooms are very poor and far too small its really not possable to use the bathroom and this should be addressed, my room was 207. hte walls need a fresh coat of paint, the mini bar was completely empty, but staff were friendly and helpfull.
nice hotell, and very good location, good bathroom and helpful stuff even they could speak more english!
friendly staff and an excellend location. there wasn't any coffee shop or resturant in the hotel.
Excellent central location, convenient to everything - Old City, buses/tram, new city & Prom. Friendly & welcoming reception staff. Attractive & characterful 19th c. building, lovely original lift cage, thankfully unmodernized, with charm of bygone times. Can not complain, it was a comfortable & friendly place to stay. phone calls were charged twice for the same call - apparently the fault of the phone company, not the hotel, but count your calls. Shower has no wall bracket for the handset to free your hands when showering. For some inexlicable reason this problem seems to be common to nearly every hotel in France! You can not shower comfortably if you have to hold the shower all the time. Unless you have three hands.
good place, convienent to arrive the train station, sea beach, shopping center, luxury shops. good envirnment and clean. I haven't found any big bad things except without wifi in the room.
central friendly and reasonable the all night noise from the night club next door
convenient location to the old town and free internet if you bring your laptop the bathroom was a bit strange and it smelled of wet towel (I think it is the shower curtain)
Hotel excelent value for money, ideally situated - close to Old Town, bus station, port etc. Lovely breakfast, clean and comfortable. Perfect for a City break. Second time we have stayed here - and would visit again.
Very enjoyable and met our needs. I think I left my hat there. White sun hat? Would be great to have it back, if possible. Dianne Colquhoun, 16 Earnock Avenue, Motherwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland ML1 3EX. No complaints.
Myself and 4 freinds used hotel for weekend break. Location was excellent for everything and very easy to find from directions given by hotel staff. Rooms were cleaned everyday and clean towels each day. Liked the tea/coffee facilities in foyer as it gets you out of your romm and enjoy hotel more. Food excellent and no shortage. Staff friendly. would recommend this hotel to anyone. Price excellent. No complaints . watcfhing out of window a bus and a car reversed into parked car. Drivers seemed to have no respect for other cars
Location good, near old port and old town. Had parking which is a real bonus in Nice. No bar.
The facilities are in order and clean. Hotel staff did not answer my in coming phone from usa at night. I have important business for it. They put the phone system on automatic answer. The desk staff or the phone system should be always connected. In case there is emergency. The phone did not work at night. It is very fatal mistake for hotel business and for customer.
The hotel was modern, clean and tidy, and quiet. Great location just around corner from the Marina, and not much further from the Beach. Breakfast was great! Absolutely no complaints!
well located- 5 minutes by walk to cental bus station (with direct connection to/from airport) and 5 minutes by walk to port and promenade. I recomend this hotel rather for short stay eg as transfer hotel if you travel to Corcica by ferry via Nice hotel is clean, however needs renovation
excellent location, quiet, ideal for family breakfast can be a bit more diversified, the rest seemed to me that it's OK
