In 1934 a dedicated group of Sierra Club volunteers built Clair Tappaan Lodge. The Lodge is located 25 miles from Lake Tahoe in the Central Sierra Nevada and is situated on a forested hillside near historic Donner Pass. Its proximity to premier areas for winter skiing and summer hiking and climbing make it the perfect getaway retreat. The Lodge boasts a cheerful dining room a large living room with a huge fireplace a cozy library with a wood-burning stove a recreation room and a hot tub. Guests must bring their own sleeping bags or bedding. The bathrooms are shared.
