i wouldnt recommend the hotel as the room was poor. The TV didn't work and neither did the shower. A shame as the place is just stunning!
The castle has a beautiful and large English garden with nice views overlooking the countryside. The rooms are very nicely decorated. Excellent bed. The dining and breakfast in the orangery was very special and not too expensive. Open fires in the hall. There is a very exclusive restaurant in the chapel. The service was excellent and the peoples very friendly.
Fare from the nearest town (but you have everything in the hotel). The exclusive restaurant had no prices on the menu so probably very expensive.
Lovely hotel. Very welcoming and comfortable. Would use again if in the area.
The buildings and gardens - stunning setting - plus ease of location straight off the m1. Housekeeping came round in the evening and topped up tea/coffee/water etc which was helpful
There were a few dirty sticky stains on the bed cover and the teapot was not clean (where the tea had dripped) The bathroom was spotless (a must!) The reception staff on arrival were extremely helpful
The whole experience was superp
The room was well decorated, well equipped, and comfortable. Flat surfaces for writing and good chairs were provided, and there was plenty of room in which to move about.
We wouldn't use the word 'dislike' to describe anything we encountered.
Clean, lovely finishing touches, fruit/tea coffee etc....
We did not dislike anything
The hotel rooms were amazingly quiet even though the hotel had a number of guests, the decor was lovely and the cleanliness was spot on. The public areas of the hotel were also very well maintained and we thoroughtly enjoyed our stay!
