the kitchen facilities They did not read our registration which said we were bringing a pet. We were put in a room that was not for pets then were told that we might have to move or pay a fee. I specifically asked for a pet room at the time of booking so that we would not have this hastle. The Manager however was very gracious and he did not charge us the extra since it was an oversight on the hotels part and we did not have to move. The girl behind the desk however was not so friendly.Joanna Oruclar
The beds & pillows were comfortable. I was most probably exhausted. For $135/per night, I expect more. There were missing handles on faucets & the carpet didn't appear to be clean & the hotel/motel (it shouldn't be called a "hotel") is situated on a very busy boulevard. The kitchen facility looked as if it had been hastily nailed together after demolition and the blackout curtains had holes in the linings which the street lights shone through........yikes!
The Staff were very nice and the hotel was very peaceful and quiet. The pool was beautiful and very easy to access. The room was nice and big, the bed was very comfortable. The rooms need a bit of updating. new carpets and screens.
Friendly stuff. Good location. Very pure breakfast.
It was nice that it's right next to Denny's, that made finding a close place to eat extremely easy. It's also fairly close to the Seabus dock, which made getting downtown cheaper; parking prices in downtown were pretty pricey, and public transit was easy. I met a lot of interesting and nice people on that. Also- parking is right outside the rooms. No need to trek a ways with all your baggage to the room. It took a while for the room to heat up, but it was fine if you just left the heat on while you were gone.
We stayed at Grouse Inn two years in a row, both around the same time. This was due to my husbands staff christmas party up at Grouse Mountain. It was great, taxi availability was good, and your place is a good price that people can afford
Location It's way too expensive for the amenities it has for a 3star hotel
Easy access. I felt the breakfast was quite sufficient. The room was quite large. Can hear people walking around on the floor above. No ironing board or iron. Nothing to write on in the rooms (like a notepad for those who still haven't moved yet to the 21st century ie have an iPhone.)
We accually didn't stay to long, because we couldn't get into the room when we request, we were'nt able to get back to check in until midnight but we did enjoy the breakfast, it was nice and quiet. We were a liitle upset that we asked for a early check in because we would coming from out of town, I requested it a couple weeks in advance and when we show up we were not allowed to get into the room for more than an hour i requested check in for 1:30
I heard many negative things about the Grouse Inn, however I was pleasantly suprised when I arrived. We had a one bedroom suite. The room was clean and spacious. The suite included a bedroom section, a living section and a full kitchen (fridge, stove, sink, cabinets..etc). The rooms are a bit outdated, but they were more than adequate for our needs.
The staff was very accommodating and the location was convenient for sightseeing. This establishment could use remodeling, carpet cleaning, and a much better (quality wise) continental breakfast.
