Pros: The breakfast was great and the staff is very friendly!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. A quaint set up right in historic Waterbury, just minutes (on foot) from excellent bars and restaurants. We had a 2 bedroom ‘suite’ which was more like a small apartment, which was perfect for our family. The breakfast was really good - a buffet of pastries and fruit to tide you over until your cooked items were made to order.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful Breakfast, Staff, awesome location and lovely host that went way above and beyond to make our short stay wonderful
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old stagecoach inn with beautiful decor. We were in Room 7 on the top (3rd floor). It was spacious and lovely. We had a King bed and two twins, wooden ceiling beams, a skylight, a sofa and lots of books to enjoy. We had fun spotting stars through the skylight and greatly appreciated the window A/C unit and the ceiling fan. Everything was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The free breakfast was the best we’ve had in a long time and we took advantage of the opportunity to eat outdoors on the porch. It was a perfect place to stay.
Cons: The bathroom was clean and the towels were thick and fluffy. However the shower stall was too tiny to bend my head over and wash my hair. I know it’s hard fitting modern amenities into older homes, and we definitely appreciated the private bathroom, but the shower stall could definitely be a little wider. The rest of the house did not have A/C. Those with mobility issues should know there are no elevators.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host made us welcome immediately with a short tour of the house and its amenities. He was chatty, providing local information that made our stay much more interesting and easier than finding the same information on our own or not even knowing about some of the spots that he pointed out.
Cons: There wasn't anything not to like about the place.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great ambience, rooms were comfortable. Beds were comfortable and clean. Inn keeper was friendly. Very sell-behaved dog.
Cons: We didn’t stay for breakfast either day we were there. They served at 9 am and we are early risers. Coffee and tea didn’t come out until 7 am. We were up and gone by 7:30. Doesn’t appear as if there were vegetarian options on the menu, though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything really, very friendly dog, very well equipped (netflix, television, pool table, balconies, hammocks ) amazing breakfast. Very relaxed and accommodating owners. There were few guests that weekend, so the owners upgraded us to rooms further away from the common areas. Close to Waterbury, Burlington and Montpellier and close (by car) to many good restaurants. Located right in the middle of nature. Seriously, go there if you like nature.
Cons: Nothing negative, but a suggestion: The b&b would benefit of a « pay attention to the dog » sign, so as to avoid any car collision. The dog is extremely friendly and welcomes other dogs and customers and does not bark. My girlfriend who is not a dog person actually enjoyed playing with Neko.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfasts were delicious and very nutritious. Hostess grew and cooked them herself.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely property tucked up in the hills. The collectibles were incredible and super fun! Leah is a wonderful inn keeper. This is a super cozy and funky place with a great vibe. I will definitely recommend to others and can’t wait to come back!
Cons: I would have preferred a gate on the back deck outside my room. Especially with my dog, it would have been nice to let her out without worrying about her escaping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are regulars here, and we will be back. Our room this time was just renovated, and was just wonderful. Duane and Leah are the best hosts. And Niko.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This seemed almost brand new and was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially the morning breakfast manager. The breakfast had every option you can imagine. We definitely enjoyed having real maple syrup after having been to a sugar farm and learning all about it the day before.
Cons: They don't have a elevator in a two floor hotel, however when I said this could be a problem for my 85 year old mother and her 75 year old friend, our rooms were moved to the first floor, and they still got us right across the hall from each other.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, close to the highway and restaurants nearby.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very unprofessional comment made to me as I was checking in- front desk attendant, Samuel advised me that I was one minute early checking in. I work in customer service in the dental field for 40 yrs.... if I had spoken this type of comment to a dental patient, I would have been written up and possibly terminated. It was not welcoming or necessary and it made my husband and I say to each other that we will not ever stay in this facility again. Nor would we recommend it to friends or family
Cons: The unwelcoming comment made by front desk attendant, Samuel—- see notes above——

Cons: I wish the lobby would have had menus or information about local site seeing. Given info when asked but would have been nice if available.

We learned about the different dinner specials that bring in the locals, especially on the weekends. Nice, quiet, cozy atmosphere.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast & pool warm
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was conveniently right off the highway. Beautiful property with a very pretty covered bridge with a short walking trail. Pool and hot tub were enjoyable! Staff was very friendly and had warm fresh cookies in the main lobby. Lots of things to keep everyone entertained! Small game room, and a big tv room with tons of books, tic tac toe, checkers, puzzles. All in all it was a great stay!
Cons: The hotel is very clean & beautiful but the moment we walked into our room it smelled very musty or moldy. The hill to the hotel is on a very steep incline and my husband & I came in on a motorcycle so that was very tricky getting in and out of the hotel parking lot from the light. Those are my only drawbacks from our stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing! The best part would be Denise, she was super friendly, and worked very hard to keep everything absolutely perfect! I want to come back just to see her!

Pros: The hosts of the Inn were very accommodating. The location is in town close to everything. Inside is very charming and every need is accommodated. Fire in the fireplace in the living room, coffee/tea, etc. Comfortable, charming rooms with private baths. Delicious food every morning. Very warm and kind hosts leave you feeling very taken care of.
Cons: That I could have had a longer stay!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were friendly and extremely accomodating. Beds were very comfy, everything was very clean, and the breakfasts were super delicious. big plus was located right across street from farmers market.
Cons: water pressure in shower. but everything else was so nice that it was not that big a deal
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was included and delicious. Served promptly.
Cons: Showers are small for a large person such as myself.

Pros: Breakfast included the best French toast I have ever eaten. And Vickie was lovely, she went out of her way to make sure I had a comfortable and memorable experience.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location. We were 10 minutes from Sugarbush. Breakfast was very good. We had an issue with our room and the staff responded quickly and ended up giving us a new room (which was an upgrade). They even moved our things for us. Nice areas for breakfast and relaxing downstairs.
Cons: Our first bed was on the hard side for us personally, but that's just our preference.

Pros: Breakfast was very good, location was great
Cons: It would have been nice to have a radio or small TV in the room.

Pros: Fabulous breakfasts included in room price! Excellent restaurant. Convenient location. Nice staff. Very good value.
Cons: While the two rooms above the bar have a degree of rustic charm, noise from the bar filters up so ear plugs might come in handy if you want to sleep before the bar closes. The price is right, though, so maybe it all comes out in the wash.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very accommodating. Our only issue was that on Booking.com it was difficult in that all of the rooms show "pet friendly" and that is not accurate. Upon arrival, we learned that only the rooms with a direct door leading outside were pet friendly. Thankfully the staff was more than gracious in moving our room to make it work for us.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great! Restaurant and Pub is excellent and fun!!
5.0 Okay
Cons: My worst travel experience yet!! They placed us in a room right above the bar .. loud music yelling hootin n yellin until 2:00am Staff left 2:30am that’s when we had peace n quiet as we were the only ones staying there (now I know why) absolutely rediculous The overnight stay wasn’t worth $10 I called the woman I spoke to earlier in the day for directions and she never addressed my issues or forwarded them to someone that could help
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was limited to 8-9 A.M. Our schedule did not allow us to participate in it either days.
Cons: The room was very small and felt cramped. It was also cold with no way to adjust the temperature.

Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room clean, spacious.Beds extremely comfortable. Heating and lighting excellent. Breakfast outstanding as was dinner. Service very friendly and always available. Easy access to Sugarbush for skiing and nice apres skiing atmosphere.
Cons: TV small for room but not there to watch TV. Entrance to Inn through bar or walk around on road or through mud in back of Inn. Certainly not a big deal but maybe a path around the back of the building or one in front off the road but in front of the Inn. Remembering that this is a VT Inn and it is meant to be rustic this was less of an inconvenience and more of a ‘find something to put down in this section’!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice people. Good food. Close to Sugarbush Mountain. Breakfast is key.
Cons: Nothing

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms have great character
Cons: Parking for the rooms is in the same area as the restaurant so if you get in late you may have difficulty with parking.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This place was unexpectedly cool and comfortable. The bed, bathroom and kitchenette were fantastic. Rooms/suites are on 2nd floor; restaurant is in the 1st floor, and a Speakeasy/lounge in the basement. When we arrived, we were a leery because you enter through the restaurant and speak to one of the hostess/servers (?).. but after that, everything was great!! The 2-bay firehouse holds a lot of memorabilia from the Barre Fire Dept and other areas: pictures, stories, etc. Our dinner at the restaurant was good and reasonably priced; service was great-friendly! We were in the Captain’s suite; the bed was sooo comfortable, the room and bathroom wonderfully decorated and the kitchenette was stocked with dishes, glasses, etc. We would absolutely stay here again!! Love that the building is still a tribute to an amazing group of first-responders. I ha
Cons: It wasn’t clear where to enter the building. The settee/2-person ‘sofa’ in the room was slightly uncomfortable.
9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food in the Ladder restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is an old firehouse, with a very good restaurant on the lower level and four rooms on the upper level. It was very quaint, clean and comfortable.
Cons: There is no sign where guests are supposed to check in (in the restaurant which has a different name than the Inn). They did not receive or see notice of our reservation made earlier in the day, so it took them some time to check us in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was excellent and has to be one of the quietest I have had.
Cons: Maybe some tissues in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The room was absolutely gorgeous. All the work that was done to create the rooms was done to a high level. You can see clear attention to detail and a huge effort to preserve the original woodwork. Then everything brought in from cabinets to sinks are all high quality and all coordinate well with the older decor. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Loved the little history lessons left throughout the room. Really cant say enough about how beautiful the everything is from the restaurant to our room.
Cons: You need to check in at the restaurant. Not a big deal at all just a clearer heads up on that would have been nice. The staff was awesome from check in to check out
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Having a wonderful restaurant right downstairs! Loved the brick walls and firefighter memorabilia. The restaurant staff checked us in, made sure we Were comfortable in our room and waited on us for dinner.

Pros: Host and hostess were delightful. Bedroom had a beautiful view, bed was comfortable enough, we slept well. Breakfast both mornings and as top notch, absolutely delicious! Cookies and coffee were plentiful all day..
Cons: It was disappointing to not have a comfortable place to sit and relax, other than the dining table. It was too cold to sit outside, so not having a couch or chairs to sit on, the as a bit disappointing. Our room was too small to sit in..

Pros: Sometimes you get better value and service in a "mom and pop" motel instead of a chain....this was one of those times. Older rooms, but very clean, and you could tell owners took pride in the accommodations they offered. Mattress was good. Everything was working. Loved the blue bath fixtures!!
