The building was a very attractive one that made us want to step in and stay. The rooms were clean and well kept. The doors are closed by midnight and if a guest shows up after midnight even with fully pre-paid reservation, there is no way to enter the hotel. We had to spend the night in our car in the car park despite a fully paid reservation since we showed up too late!!! When we did make it to the room at 0630 hrs the next morning, we found the bed to be rather small.
Excellent breakfast (European style) Elevator is a bit slow and noisy
Setting, great view and balcony
overdue luggage arrived 4 days late and we were not called when it arrived...probably just a language problem with French staff & English only guests
The hotel was nice and comfy. Perhaps some rooms a little bit outdated, but this was overcomed by cleanliness. The free parking lot and the location is what made up our desicion to stay. Despite that we had the updated version on our the navigator, it did not recognize the address that is provided by the hotel or maybe by booking.com (to our surprise neither did google). The very same address with the very same ZIP also applies to the city Colmar (thats what google says). So basically we started our trip to hotel without knowing hotels exact position. As recommendation to the others if your navigator does not recognize the address, use the map on booking.com site in order to find the hotel.
The location in the middle of the vineyards is fantastic, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is good and the wine list has a good selection of producers from the immediately surrounding area.
very good restaurant, attractive location
great food but no vegetarian choice. small and uncomfortable double bed.
Like most French hotels regret no tea-making facilities.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a fantastic location We were allocated a very very small room for 5 nights. We were moved to a bigger room on request. The staff in the restaurant were not very welcoming and service was very slow. The water in the pool and spa was cold
Great large family room. Everything has been newly renovated and was immaculately clean. Lovely pool/spa area.
Location. Availability of facilities. Cleanliness. Hotel is attempting to be chic and trendy but will not succeed. Staff sometimes pretentious. Service variable. Food OK but not great. Penny-pinching efforts evident. Air conditioning sporadic and requires asking at Reception.
The environment, the service and the pleasant atmosphere
The room, the environment The breakfast was not well prepared, there was no bread left !!!!
The staff was great, willing to help. The jacuzzi and swimming-pool were clean and quiet. The surroundings look amazing (there´s a forest).
Calm and pleasant atmosphere. Excellent restaurant.
the free wifi, free swimmingpool, view and forest around. Throuhg booking.com very good value for money. staff was not very open, most only spoke french. missing a simple day menu in the restaurant.
The service of the personel
Nice reception, good selection in restaurant, lovely pool, great sauna. Squeaky floor boards and thin walls!!!!
Good food and hospitality.
Friendly staff, good location for walking tours. We haven't slept because of a loud humming noise. Apparently, one of the refrigerators was broken, and the temporary replacement compressor unit kept us up all night. We did not get any sleep, the bed was really tiny as well. In fairness, when we complained about this noise, they apologised, and offered us 1 free breakfast.
Very friendly staff. Excellent food and service at the restaurant. Family-friendly (travelling with very young children). Rooms spacious and clean. Hotel charged some extra costs, for example for the baby cot although stated free in booking.com's description. Rooms should be smoke free!
The pricing of the food was a joke! Miserable qulatity priced way too high!
The wonderful friendly staff and the excellent food. The room we ended up with didn't have a proper shower BUT it DID have a balcony.which was the most important criteria for us.
The little playground was great for the kids. I thought the location was very relaxing. It was everything I expected it to be.
Pleasant welcoming atmosphere, good food.
Spacy and well-decorated room, good location (Barr really is a picturesque village, well situated on the wine route in the Alsace). The swimming pool is very nice as well.
I found the hotel staff to be extremely friendly. The taxi service provided into Bruges was a great help and the food was fantastic
The hotel was very comfortable and was decorated with good taste. Our visit was very relaxing, and the staff was patient and helpful. Breakfast was nice too. I would definitely stay again. Would be nice to have shampoo and soap for the guests.
The hotel is in a very pleasant setting with modern and comfortable bedrooms. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Although everything worked, the quality of the bathroom fittings didn't match that of the rest of the room.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff are very friendly and speak very good English. Our room was very well appointed and comfortable. The local village centre of Barr is beautiful and only a few minutes walk from the Hotel. The only negative point was that there was a wedding at the hotel during our stay and it was noisy until about 3am !
Quality services, wonderful staff.
Room is okay, but bathroom needs update!
Both the evening meal and the breakfast were exceptionally good. The food was excellent and the service good. The drinks were a little expensive at the bar, but the wine list offered a good selection of nice wines at a reasonable price. Our room (in the annex outside) was a bit dated, slightly musty, and ours smelled doggy. Pets were allowed, and the last canine occupant in our room had left a slight 'Essence du chien' in the bathroom. Either that or it was a little damp.
perfect location near Obernai ,Colmar ,Strasbourg & and the "Route des vins". Boutique hotel with excellent service . No aircondition in rooms
It was one of the best hotel I have ever visit. Beautiful old mill refurnished and redecorated to great attention and care. Free parking, magnificent rural Alsacienne view from the window. Each room has a name and decorated in different themes. Everything is clean, new. Breakfast is not included, it costed us 11 Euros per person, but I totally recommend it. There is no big choice, but everything is extremely fresh and delicious. It is the best hotel to visit Alsace famous wine route. There is also free Wifi. Best time to visit is September. Very romantic! no big choice of TV channels. no elevator, steps are wide and nice.
A wonderful peaceful village with great walks and near lovely towns. Very quiet and with a lovely breakfast. The toilet facilities were cramped but was in the middle of a refit.
Excellent service and food
Staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was great and great value for France.
charming hotel, good quality, definitely value of money
The hotel was wonderful, clean and very attractive. Our room with a balcony lovely. The owners and staff very friendly. We would thoroughly recommend it.
This is a lovely place and fantastic value. Room very nice and well appointed and comfortable. Really charming. Breakfast really nicely presented. Sweet little town. I would really recommend a stop here.
convenience, friendly, and very nice. Breakfast was very good!!!
it was situated in a beautiful small village, charming!
Beautiful village surroundings. Hotel very well maintained with beautiful decor. No restaurant facilities. Nearest restaurant 6km away albeit in another beautiful village.
Nice countryside hotel, helpful staff. The 'Pressoir de Bacchus'-restaurant in the same street serves excellent food at a very reasonable price! Apart from the availability of a bath, rather peculiar concept of 'superior room'... Unlike the 'standard-room': not two beds but a rather small two-person-bed, no flatscreen-tv but a rather small conventional one, and no Eurosport-channel available on our tv. Again, all this in contrast to the 'standard-rooms' of our fellow-travellers...
We enjoyed this hotel very much, it is located in a very small pretty village. Breakfast was good and it was a good overnight stay.
Very clean rooms, helpful staff. None
Nice and spacious room in calm environment except for the curch bells whice were informing us about the time every 15 minutes.
The hotel was amazing. Loved everthing about it. You will not be dissapointed. The town was an absolute gem.
Staff was great! stairs
We loved this place! Neat, well renovated ancient house with the best beds We´ve slept in for a long time! Caroline, the manager is a superfriendly and intellegent woman who will make your stay memorable. Go there!
Very friendly staff, speaking excellent English. It is a quaint, old house offering a lot of atmosphere. The hotel is right next to the church and it is a little like sleeping in the belfry - and the clock chimes every quarter.
The owner was very friendly and adapted to our wishes like a late arrival and a very early breakfast. Did not only talk French but also German. We booked the largest room and it was just as it was expected to be. Too bad we just not had too much time, if possible we try to book again, The village and the hotel itself just looked very awesome too. Btw, WiFi was working also correctly, for the ones that want to know.
