The village was so quaint and charming. The merchants were friendly and helpful (be prepared to speak French!) Had everything one would need for a short stay in the area. A true experience of rural life in France. Perfect spot to visit the region.
'Pool' small and dirty. Close to 40 degree heat wave so my kids determined to go in. Took them half an hour to clean it out. Dirt and bird droppings still in it, my wife declined. Shower in room but shared toilet end of hallway ( typical of europe to have random washroom set up) No air con (again not uncommon) 'Petit dejeuner' not worth the price for a croissant and coffee
All the bars and restaurants closed on a Monday....we had to travel for 15 mins to nearest large town, where the only restaurant open was McDonald's....slightly disappointing after a 400 mile drive...wish we had known beforehand!
Nozeroy is a beautifully located town glorious views all around. Our hotel room looked out over fields, you could hear cow bells, it was extremely quiet. The room was all new, shower excellent, good bed
The floor of our room was dirty. The evening meal was poor, and there was no where else to eat in town
Stylish newly renovated room. Very quiet location. Easy to access & park. Kitchen with large dining area available.
One of the least comfortable beds I ever had - extremely soft combined with a firm pillow. Breakfast nice and tasty however no variety.
This hotel/ pension offers very good value for money and is clean and comfortable. The room we stayed in had clearly recently been refurbished, in fact probably restructured to an extent as one interior wall had yet to be rendered or painted. Having said that the room was comfortable and a reasonable size for a family room. The en-suite bathroom and toilet were separate, which also works well when there are four people in the room! While the plumbing seemed a little dodgy when using the toilet and sink, the shower (also apparently new) was first class in terms of pressure. Les Remparts is a bit unusual, but is value for money for a one-night stopover. A more detailed review of this accommodation can be found on https://undercoverofthewrite.wordpress.com/. The accommodation is spread over two locations across the road from each other, which is not immediately obvious on arrival. Neither appeared to be open but, fortunately, a local resident appeared and went and fetched our hostess from one of them. We were then showed to our room (in the other building) and finally asked if we would be taking breakfast. When we declined, the relief of the woman was palpable! We later saw her leaving the village by car. Once she had gone it was clear that the hotel was completely unmanned. Also, the restaurant – lauded on Bookings.com – was closed as, indeed, was the whole village. Luckily we had some cheese, baguettes and wine in the car! It was the ghost hotel in a ghost village as we seemed to be the only guests in a hotel with no staff and a village with no resident!
