Very nice hotel with two elevators. Rooms are clean and good.Breakfast was ok. Happy again.
The reception staff could not have been more accommodating. Not really totally refurbished. can still see that it is an old hotel.
Very comfortable and friendly staff Price is on the high side
Clean comfortable quiet hotel, friendly staff and good breakfast. Sat nav took us miles off course for some reason, not easy to find without map! Requested extra bed by email (no reply) and webform at time of booking - no extra bed materialized. Also, restaurant closed on Sunday night.
Pleasant position and car parking. Don't feel it deserved 4 star rating. Bathroom towel with holes. Lift to floor 3 old and primitive, trapped bag in door and has no door open button. Had to ask for fresh coffee at breakfast, staff should come and ask us at table. Large noisy group of youths watching football on TV in evening.
The free parking is safe and the breakfast is good. For an 3* Hotel it is one of the best choices you can make. If you don’t have a car you won’t have much to do in close proximity to the hotel. The neighborhood is not the very best.
Very good overall. Great breakfast. A little bit out of town. Need better directions to the hotel as it was a little hard to find.
The staff were, without exception, warm and friendly. There was good service in the restaurant and the food was good value. Breakfast was excellent. Overall, the hotel was excellent value for money, clean and well managed. Road signs directing you to the hotel were helpful but at some key junctions, they were missing.
All the Staff were exceptionaly friendly and helpful (especially the one with the brace :>) They helped us to book another hotel, gave us advice for travelling in Sardinia etc. Even though we don't speak Italian and the staff''s english is limited, there was no communication problem. Breakfast is quite sweet. Need to take the bus or taxi to the trainstation.
The staff was very helpful and friendly
Helpfull hotel staff, nice location in the center and clean & neat rooms small breakfast options
Nice hotel. Decorations are cool. The breakfast was good, small buffet and fresh coffee. Situated in middle of the centre. We used it for one night after arriving at the airport and on our way to Porto Torres. If you arrive at the airport and you can find still book a hotel in Alghero it is easyer to get there by bus.
the receicpcionist was the only person in whole sardinia that spoke good english :D we were very surprised :)the hotel is centric, has good rooms and is near to everything it has an old type of decoration, but we thought it gave a certain charm to it :)
I had a very bad breakfast. Even water was bad (tap water but this a bad taste). My worst breakfast ever.
Quality service, everything clean and neat. Friendly and helpfull staff, good breakfast.
warm hospitallity, space, condition of the room and bathroom breakfast can be better (more fruit and sardinian food)
Receptionist was very helpful in recommendations for places to eat and car hire.
It was very clean and the location is very good. The decor was very nice, new and modern. The wardrobe in our room was tiny, no parking facilities and the breakfast had no much choice or variety.
Hotel was very clean and imaculatly kept. Room was very large size and decorated very nice. Overall great stay at this hotel for 4 night break very polite and helpful staff nice buffet breakfast. Hotel also close to bus and train routes to tour round the island. Any one booking this hotel will have a wonderful stay there.
Exellent hotel for people by car The rooms from the see is noisy to midnight
It was at my opion no hotel, it was a bungalow park. When we arrived they did not received the booking...There where no towels in the room, I asked if I could rent or buy them, was not possible. They told me to buy them in a shop at 20 km.....The whole week no cleaning, and you must make your own bed. The Staff talks just Italian, the most did not understand English. Must hire a car.
good location we feel we have been ripped off because we were forced to pay an extra 20% when we arrived at the hotel for "utilities". These proved to be non existent - no room cleaning at all, no towels, linen delivered but just left, shower leaked over floor due to bad placement of shower curtain, no bathroom mats so we had to mop up floor with linen, self catering utensils lacked a can opener, any large knif
The bungalow was nice and quiet, private resess outside that was cool in the evening. Could hear the sea when outside. After the cyclone we were moved into the hotel as the boiler was damaged during the storm, so received free half board for one night. Nice relaxing holiday. They have a problem with ants. Shower gel and washing up liquid soon removed them from the bathroom
very close to the beach, staff was nice. 340 euro extra charges not mentioned at booking. The credit card machine was broken for the week that we were there, I think they did not want to pay the service charges, and made everyone pay cash. The beds were not made when we arrived and no towels or shower curtens were provided. Our refrig. was broken and not repaired until the last day of our stay. I could go on, but... Don't stay here
There was an extremely happy atmosphere around the resort and lots of entertainment. Pool/beach/sea all very clean. We were surprised that none of the staff spoke much English. Didn't realise that it was predominantly an all inclusive resort this made it difficult for us as we were only board. No towns or villages nearby but was lovely pizzeria 100 m away.
My room was very dirty when I arrived. I eventually got clean sheets by 1130 at night that I changed myself. Hotel staff was extremely confused about my booking throug this website and attempted to charge me club fees and electric and water bills. The beach is horrible black sand that stains your clothes.
Stunning location but not suitable without a car. Very steep hill. Excellent breakfast. Out of season visit so very quiet restaurant served a lot of fish dishes so didn't use it.
Great view of sea, nice pool, friendly/accommodating staff, internet in rooms at reasonable rate, nice breakfast. Not within walking distance to city center.
The whole staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The view was spectacular, the location was very good.
amazing location with beautiful views from room windows of seaside and Castelsardo town with its Castle on the top of the hill; excellent facilities and services, swimming pool with the same amazing view of the sea and the town; very pleasent chill out area to enjoy in the evening, very kind, efficient and helpful hotel staff
Hotel Marini was a very neat and quiet hotel with an extremely helpfull staff. The location of the hotel isn't the best, but we (a young couple) didn't have any problem with walking to the city everyday. We only wished there to be more restaurants nearby. The hotels breakfast was excellent and the two dinners we had there were also good. Our room didn't have a fridge so we couldn't really buy any foods or drinks in the room. Although that was our mistake - for not booking a room with one. The hotels breakfast which was included in the rooms price was a good help with "the fridge problem".
The staff was very helpful.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable Impossible to find, poor breakfast, bad security (the keys to the rooms were just left out on the reception desk during the night for anyone to take).
quiet and clean at the reception we felt that Staff was polite and smiling but not extremely helpful or cooperative (we had booked two rooms, saw one and asked to see the other one but this was refused before our children had actually come)
Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of parking space adjacent to the hotel. Easy access to the main road system but in a relatively quiet location. Air conditioning in my room was not working. This wasn't a big problem because I stayed in late September when the temperature wasn't too high, but it would have been very uncomfortable in high summer.
nothing... old and not cleans rooms, woman on the reception not frendly, tv with only sex chanels. Not 4 stars, only 2 stars
backrooms have no view but noisy due to the airconditioning of the restaurant
Helpful Reception Staff. Beach beds/chairs and unbrellas supplied. Breakfast choice very limited only. Cereal on table but no cold milk or bowls supplied.
Lovely facility, gorgeous view of the castle, and wonderful-friendly staff.
Great location, attentive staff. Bathroom in allocated room too small for largish people. When asked for another room choice, were required to pay for an upgrade.
reception staff very helpful and had good english skills - useful given our limited Italian we would prefer a buffet breakfast with fruit and meats and cheese available
The view from the balcony was fab however the scooters flying up and down the street below us were very noisy so the balcony doors had to be kept closed which was a pity.
Availability of an upgrade to Sea View Nothing
Friendly welcome, own hotel car parking. Good base for visiting the area.
directly located at the mini beach. good sized room (triple), price ok. hotel staff were very helpful late at night when electricity failed. room very clean, bathroom celan but aged, shower very small with some moldy bits around the sealing.
Actually nothing positive to say about this hotel. Breakfast was terrible, accomodation not good (heating didn't work) This in not an hotel or an area to visit in winter. In summer I can imagine that is is much better.
Located in a busy nightlife area, and good price (compared to Sardinian standards). There is a club right next to it, this was good for me but it might be a problem for other guests (families, old people,...) It's a bit oldish, needs to be refurbished. In-room fridge did not work.
The underground carpark is too awkward and the pillars should have soft protectors to avoid scratching cars
Very comfortable, spotlessly clean. Quiet when we were there but there is a bar/club next door so in August it might be noisy.
Nice hotel near Castelsarsdo. The hotel was very clean and well presented and the management was very helpful when we had difficulties with our car. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking for a good 3 star hotel.
Friendly staff (however they did not speak any English), very clean rooms, recently refurished
Very affordable hotel, with much better comfort then you would expect. You get a lot of hotel for your money. Free underground parking. The underground parking is quite small, difficult to manoever your car when busy.
Nice room with air conditioning conveniently placed (not directly in your face, which I hate), nice balcony looking at the west (beautiful sunsets in the sea), the hotel is not too big and not too crowded, breakfast is good, it is very clean and cosy. It proved as an excellent stay to travel along the north coast to more interesting beaches with a rent-a-car. Depending on the purpose of your stay, disadvantages might be that the closest beach is not among the nicest I've seen in Sardinia, it is about 5 km outside the town Castelsardo and not much is happening in Lu Bagnu in the evening and there is a neighbouring bar with sometimes loud music that stays open late.
We had booked for three adults and were assigned a 4 bed room with plenty of space. The hotel manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was to the side of the hotel which spared us the noise from the traffic. The bathroom was nice and new, everything very clean and proper. The breakfast was average. Parking was available 50 m from the hotel for free on a public parking lot. In the lobby free internet access was provided, but not in the rooms. Although a little to expensive, we can recommend the hotel At night, we switched the A/C of and it got very warm afterwards (even with three people in a large room). The beds were rather hard and without comfort. The breakfast was rather average. In total, we would regard it as too costly (124 € per night for three adults, August 2010) compared to other hotels in Sardinia.
Hotel staff were great.Excellent housekeeping. very patient with language barrier. very friendly
The welcoming concierge; little English but really pleased at my basic Italian. Watching the sun go down over the sea from the balcony was lovely; even though we were on the main road. We did find a pizzeria on the sea front for lunch which served excellent pasta and seafood dishes (the locals eat there). A few more restaurants (open) locally would be good but we were there June; we did wonder if the bar next door would make much noise in the busier summer months, otherwise a room on the side street would be better. More restaurant choice in Castelsado which is only 3 mile drive away, hotel did have a little underground parking; nice when you're concerned about a hire car.
This hotel is very very very noisy (we can hear people snoring in the room just beside + trafic). Poor breakfast.
The shower is without curtain.
the staff were really friendly and helpful the breakfst was bad,the room is old and noisy.
It looks like a '60 old fashion hotel. Corridors, hall, breakfast room, suites and rooms XXL! down town, parking free, very polite staff
some hotel staff breakfast buffet, business hotel, not for holidays, dark entrance, old fashioned, location
Generally, english speaking staff is problematic in Italy and at Sardinia especially however staff at the hotel reception was very helpful and friendly.
Staff really prepared for all demands and support, very kind people as well international approach. Simple rooms, furnitures are preserved as well good bathroon disposal on suites. Worderful view of castle.
Nothing. No computer for used internet, Staff is not helpfull. I must go 15 km for used internet and make new reservations for next hotel. Bedroom is old.Restaurant and swimming pool doesn t work.Bad locations for swimming in the sea.You must go 10 km for first normal beach.
The views were breathtaking. Rooms were large and very comfortable. Friendly atmosphere. You could hear a lot in between rooms, no soundproofing.
The breakfast was very nice. The view to the castle excellent. The minibar (refrigerator) was warm. The bed hard and pillow bad. The road to the castle was not nice to walk on with children.
The location was great - directly on the ocean with access to a private little beach and incredible views on the colorful town and castle of Castlesardo. The restaurant was a great value with good food and again, the view! Looked great for families as there was a big pool, billiard/tv room and a bar with live music. The facade of the hotel doesn't match up with the rest - it needs a face-lift!
Cleanliness of room , good breakfasts and proximity to the town centre.
superb food, great staff i thought wifi internet was free - it should be
Nice room interior Quite expensive. No elevator in hotel section where our room was situated.
i loved the view it was amazing! and the fact that the beach was near. the food!
Very crean and sophisticated as the Italian casual hotel. Should be more cheap price.
This hotel is very design lead - The decor is impressive compared to other hotels I have stayed in while visiting Sardinia.I Paid €110 for a standard room however there was no sea view and I upgraded to a sea view with balcony for an extra €15 which was worth it. The room was spacious and the balcony is large enough to sit out on and watch the street below. I would stay at this hotel again but for Room only as the breakfast is appalling. It was impossible to find any staff at this hotel - I literally checked every floor & staff / private / Parking area looking for staff to check in but the hotel was completely deserted. Eventually another guest advised that you have to check in at the sister hotel down the road from Janus Hotel. (This wasted alot of time from our day). Also the breakfast was appalling and had no redeeming features..... Even the fruit was inedible. We decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. I would not pay for breakfast at this hotel ever. I would stay only for room only as the rooms are top notch.
excellent size of rooms.good location having to go to a neighbouring hotel for breakfast.rooms slightly overpriced
Nice clean rooms and friendly staff (when you saw them). I think we were the only people staying in the hotel... I didn't like the fact that they seemed to forget we were staying...the front doors were often locked during the day (we had to enter via lifts in the car park). Reception was never manned!! We didn't check out becuase there was no-one was on reception!! However, they did have my card details so I hope I will be invoiced correctly...
Helpful lady on reception We were originally allocated the wrong room as no sea view + no air conditioning in any rooms which was very disappointing for the price.
The restaurant on the top floor was not opened
Location Having to go next door for food
Beautifull room, nice view No
The hotel was new and the staff were very helpful in meeting requests. Free Wifi internet. Breakfast was very basic, but typical of Italian hotels. Wifi didn't work in the room. Had to go to common area to get strong signal.
The swiming pool. The kitchen was quite depleted. Lack of microwave was shoking !
The atmosphere was excellent - very cozy. Nice pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended
Very nice and cosy place, big pool and spacious rooms. Sea and the beach is few km away, so the car is preferable.
Good apartment style hotel, just departured from there, everything in convinient place, nice beach not far away, but of course need a car.
Good location. Not far from a nice sandy beach but you need a car. Local amenities at walking distance. Very helpfull staff The frying pans were old and were not safe to use.
Big rooms, clean, quiet, furniture ok (except for the couch, which is dated) The AC is not very efficient, the shower cabin is very small and dated, the breakfast is poor, the walls in the rooms need renovation.
This hotel offered all we expected to get. A very good service indeed. No item to mention.
Big room, friendly staff, Sky TV with lots of channels, free WIFI
Beautiful hotel, staff were friendly, restaurant was good if the staff could speak english, and warn guest if there was a wedding at the hotel lasting two days.
Great room, fabulous view, wonderful food in the restaurant, friendly staff. Breakfast was fairly disasterous. Drinks very cool, not hot. No fruit juice on two of the three days, very stale dry bread on the Sunday, no cereals. Quite a contrast to the wonderful evening meals available at extra cost. I would only recommend the hotel for everything except the breakfast.
big room with little garden and big bathroom. nice view onto Castelsardo from restaurant. bedspread not clean, breakfast rather simple and in common with wasps. Restaurant: Food good but rather slow service
Staff very helpful and made you feel very welcome.
The view and the big bathroom. Wonderful location
Lovely rooms in typical Sardinian style; superb views out to sea and of Castelsardo to the left. Good restaurant again with great views.
The view to the ocean was perfect and the restaurant was superb...Really enjoyed the room which was large and confortable The fact that there was no one in the reception in the morning for check out was a bit anoying...Poor english by the staff although they are all very nice and polite
the view is fantastic, the place either, no,
The owners and staff were really friendly and helpful and the location of the hotel is wonderful. It is a very relaxing place to stay with lovely views and an excellent restaurant just behind the hotel. No.
Room and landscape. We asked for breakfast and 8 and had to wait till after 9. the manager did not tell us there was going to be a wedding the second day - it was so noisy that we left and found another hotel. we thought it very sneaky that he did not tell us as he was trying to find out what we were doing that day.
the staff is very nice and helpful, the hotel is near the sea and the seaview is amazing, the breakfast is very good and the place is peaceful and quiet nothing to say
nice big room, access to internet wi-fi or by Hotel PC for free, english speaking staff, breakfast not only with sweets, quiet localisation hotel is located on middle of nothing, good for short stay,eg, as a good start to corsica (close distans to santa maria)
We truly enjoyed our stay at Abbaidda Hotel. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and the ac was a great thing. We also loved the pool area which, most of the time, we had to ourselves.
The hotel equipment is new (4 star) and very beautiful. Very big bathroom. Friendly staff, breakfast quite OK. Location is hard to find, first day they didn't clean up our room, because we didn't leave the key at the reception, dogs barking at the neighbour, little frogs in the swimming pool :)
Good value, very clean and friendly staff
spacious rooms, friendly staff member the rooms were cold when weather was inclement
The hotel had a pool :) First of all, this town do only have about three restaurants and two supermarket, the town do not have any beaches so you do only sleep here. So about the hotel, the servis was good but the beds was hard as a rock and the breakfast is really poor/simple.
excellent pool, everywhere spotlessly clean, relaxed friendly staff shared balconies and closed pool bar, some distance from sea.
We like the breakfast served at the hotel, we like the cleaning services, staff, the location of the hotel, it has a swimming pool, which was really good and we had a breakfast outside. We guess, everything was good. We have no claims.
The Ariadimari was a lovely hotel. The rooms were large and very clean and the staff were really friendly. Lovely pool as well.
Super friendly, helpful owners. coffee freshly made and fabulous. lovely pool. quiet location. Would have liked more varied breakfast, although the freshly baked croissants and bread were really nice.
i liked the atmosphere of the room and the enviroment around the pool some of the personel should be a little more polite
new nice building, very pretty and confortable.
Rooms clean and new, beautiful pool with deck-chairs and tables, safe parking off the road, lovely region, short drive to the beach, short walk into centre of small town, very friendly and helpful staff in family-run hotel. Typical Italian breakfast : squash rather than juice, choice of jams, nice bread roll, bad croissant, delicious coffee and that's it... no ham, no cheese, no fruit, no cereal...
