It was the most beautiful hotel we've found in Sweden. Very nice and friendly staff, beautiful rooms, very homely atmosphere. We stayed 3 nights and wish we could stay more.
This is a beautiful old multi-building hotel located in a picturesque town on Lake Siljan. The room was small but comfortable with a lot of cupboard space. The food was excellent with a good breakfast included in the fee and excellent gourmet dinners. In the main building, there is a room with a pool table as well as an indoor pool, sauna, and whirlpool (whirlpool additional cost 20SEK for 20 minutes). Service was excellent and the location is ideal for exploring the Dalarna region.
The Service and facilities available at the hotel
The relaxed atmosphere and the quiet cozy areas throughout the building to enjoy
Lovely buildings beautifully furnished and with a friendly atmosphere and a very nice restaurant.
My mini suite with the balacony, location of the hotel, the breakfast, helpful nice staff and the fact that this family business has been since 15th century and still well maintained. I wish that I could turn on the heating in my suite but it will not operate till mid of Oct since it is for all the hotel. This was not really needed at the time I stayed at the hotel and staff provided me with little heating device that operates on electricity.
It is an historical place so has the charm of yesteryear. The staff is dressed in Swedish costume from the region and is cheerful, adding to the charm. The layout of the buildings is resort-like. They are very well-known for their restaurant, and the food was prepared in gourmet style. Ample free parking in two different areas made it convenient to park near your building. Kids can have fun on a trampoline in the big yard; there is also a tennis court and pool. Excellent breakfast. No internet - although it's not really a business type hotel, which is part of the charm. A true place to relax. Dinner was pricey.
The room was quite comfortable with a large bath including a jacuzzi tube. The bed was reasonably comfortable. We had a small deck opening to a park-like area and the beautiful lake beyond. There is an excellent gourmet restaurant here for dinner and the breakfast is plentiful and quite good. The staff is quite pleasant. The property is quaint and has apparently been in the family for several generations. Here you have the quaintness of a Swedish country inn that is reasonably upgraded and renovated. Overall a very good stay and we highly recommend it for all from those w/ children to honeymooners and mature travelers. There were also a couple of business groups at the property. All good.
A very comfortable hotel with friendly staff, excellent beds and a cosy interior. Dinner, though not cheap, was delicious. Service was good and speedy. A good range of food for breakfast set us up for the day. Best of all was the overall design and appearance of the place. It just felt lovely to be there.
The view from the room was amazing! At first, the room was not lake view in spite of advance request, but when I pointed it out, the reception staff changed the room soon. I appreciate it.
Woderful room. Excellent food. Very relaxing and quiet - ideal for a breakaway. No
Very well located with a terrific view on the Siljan Lake ; great spa with one hot tube (whirlpool) and a large whirlpool in a separate nice building at the bottom of the property (yet spa is closing at 8 PM) ; nice and cosy hotel rooms are rather outdated and deserve a new decoration / upgrade - they are not worth their price
The indoor pool and the spa are very nice, big room, beautiful view on the lake. Free bycicles. Good breakfast buffet. Restaurant menu was limited (mainly grill).
Excellent location, Great view of Siljan lake, Friendly staff Drainage of bathroom floor was very bad. Flooded after using shower every time.
Location and view from the comfortable room Hotel is for bus tourists with package deals not individuals.Food is mediocre cleanliness and attencion of service is poor (dirty floors, uncleaned tables)
Simple small countryside hotel, nothing special. However everything is working well.
Easy to find, good parking, close to city center. not as clean or updated as we usually like and find
Breakfast, the room, the location, the surroundings. A perfect hotel to stay at in Dalarna!
Convenient location - close to lake, town center and the Zorn Museum. Dala horse factories in hearby villages!
The room was very basic, beds were uncomfortable Breakfast was good
My bedroom was clean quiet and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast with an effort to offer local meals and Swedish specialities. The free sauna is a plus. I can recommend this hotel.
Breakfest was excellelent Some broken furniture
amazing! The breakfast is amazing! The selection is something you will love. The beds are very comfortable. The evening meals are very good but very expensive. There are a # of take out places just across the street as well as a very nice grocery store. The staff in the hotel are very helpful with finding your way around.
Warm and inviting. Quiet and peaceful. Fireplace nice and lots of soft candle light.
I needed a quite relaxing place to stay before returning to work - the Green Hotel and the village of Tallberg set on Lake Siljan provided exactly what i required. The private art collection - on view to hotel guests at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon was an added bonus along with the excellent swimming pools sauna, tennis facilities and free bike facility. Althouggh my en suite wet room was ultra modern and spotlessly clean it was very small - people of greater girth than my self would seriously struggle in the space available.
The staff was great, wonderful room with view of the lake and excellent dinner.
The surroundings were exquisite, the staff was incredibly nice and accomodating, the hotel itself was beautiful the area is perfect.
Very welcoming, very friendly, beautiful hotel in the unique Dalarna style.
Wonderful veiw over the lake Siljan No signs down to the bar were the staaf was late in the evening
Staff, food, service, setting could not have been better.
Excellent location. Carefully maintained wonderful old buildings. Breakfast selection was rather basic.
An absolute gem of a hotel! Off the "beaten track" with excellent views over Lake Siljan, this wooden hotel maintains much of the original charm with very helpful staff wearing traditional local dress. Whilst very accomodating for families, the evening menu choice, although very good quality, was limited.
the fantastic views of the lake and the dinner meals
The on site facilities - swimming pool, bowling, restaurant etc. were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was an easy walk into central Mora itself. The furnishing etc. was basic and the room was small. Being out of season (September) a lot of facilities around Mora were closed.
Hotel location and very helpful staff Hotel looks like motel.
I liked the family ambiance, the kindness of the staff, the nature around the hotel and the very good breakfast!
Best beds ever. ( tempur room )
convenient location with a fair price very small rooms for three persons
After a long drive from Lillehammar, Mora was a welcome break. The resturant food was very good, our room was very well presented and comfortable, and breakfast was fine. Also, very pleasant suroundings. The sauna on Room Coridoor 200 you need to set yourself and give 30 minutes to warm up (a helpful tip). Overall, price vs quality = very good. It is also out of the rat run of Mora which some people may like, but easy for those who want it to get too. Would certainly recommend this place and would go back there again! <;-o)
The hotel was beautiful. It was composed of several buildings that housed the rooms and then a central building with conference room, sitting areas and dining facilities. The breakfast was extremely complete and delicious. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The setting was beautiful, just a short walk downhill to the edge of Siljan Lake. The hotel was expensive, but everything in Sweden seemed to be.
It was Vasaloppet event. So, it was the so called only last minute booking hotel available. The late arrival time was not problem for the team. Due to Vasaloppet we had to wakeuop very early, so the extra bralfast bag was prepared. Excellent! The team was very small on sunday so the reception was not always available, but it was not a problem for us.
It was silent no screeming from children or drunk adults . The buffe dinner was way to expensive for what we received .
the location was outstanding as well as the possibility for many sporting activities and the sauna and outdoor hot tub. The rooms have minimal comfort and the staff could be friendlier.
Scenic, pleasant staff, nice room, enjoyable environment.
