The rooms were clean and the Casa Ojai Inn permitted pets.
We stayed overnight on our way down to LA airport so consequently required a restful stop. Casa Ojai Inn is very comfortable, the swimming pool is an added bonus. The self service breakfast good and the staff very pleasant - we would definitely use it again. Ojai is a really interesting place- great seafood restaurant & a brilliant second hand bookshop & a real Literary centre.
Clean, good-sized room, great bed, and friendly staff. 2 minutes from the middle of Ojai by car. Low-flow shower, but understandable in these parts.
Staff, grounds, pool, hot tub. Well, the furnishings weren't my taste but that's just me. I usually like a more modern hotel.
the staff was friendly and helpful; the room was good sized and clean with mostly good accomodations. There was a closet area without a clothes hanger rod and there were no towel bars by the sink or shower. Very inconvenient.
quaint little motel with friendly staff, lots of charm
Nice upgrade to room interior. Pool and jacuzi were great! Best best best value for better than average room. Nice touch with free breakfast!!
We had a large group of friends. Everyone felt the hotel was na great deal. To begin with the staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was a nice perk.
The hotel was very nice. We had paid in advance (November) for a date in May. In March we received a phone call from Kayak or their 3rd party telling us we would have to move to a hotel in Ventura since they had over booked the hotel. We were very upset since we had made reservations very early. We were told by that 3rd party that if we didn't move then we could cancel. After several phone calls and emails we were finally able to stay. The good thing was that the hotel had us in their system as the reservation they had and they told us that they were not changing it unless we told them we were. When we arrived at the hotel, our check in took about a 1/2 hour because the credit card the third party gave to the hotel was not working. It was sorted out but was incenvenient.
* It was clean * Staff was friendly * Bed was comfortable * Paid extra for a private "patio" which turns out to be a table and chairs outside the front door adjacent to parking lot (don't recommend you choose this upsell). * Faux-wood floors (I prefer carpet) * Tiny bathroom - only sink is in main room * Wall-mounted shampoo and soap dispensers (soap dispenser was empty for my shower) * Have to go to pool to get to ice machine
I was unable to go to Casa Ojai Inn because my childcare fell through. When I tried to cancel Kayak wouldn't let me even though I'm sure the inn would have been able to book the room 36 hours in advance on a popular summer weekend. I will not be using Kayak to book anymore.
Consistently good, with little touches that show that staff and owners care about property and the environment. Very quiet and comfortable. Walk to shops and hiking. I stay here every time I'm in Ojai. Need bedside outlets to plug in phone and other accessories.
The room was very clean and appeared to be recently refurbished. The bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Wireless internet was reliable and fast. Window and door locks could be more secure. Parking was inadequate. No shampoo provided by hotel. Motel is located in a neighborhood past its prime.
The room and bed were comfortable and clean. No ice machine on site.
Clean room. Comfy enough bed. I talked to the owner for a bit. I really appreciate that he is actively renovating to fancy the place up, and doing a great job of it too. Don't judge this place based on the street view! Nothing. More than expected, especially for the money.
The rooms have been remodeled for functionality.Good price for a room with a full kitchen. It is located central to the area and has a nice size flat screen.Good for business trips.
The rooms are remodeled Oct 2010. Large flat screen TVs. Nice soft comfy beds.
very nice staff, helped me with all kind of stuff
Conveniently located, neat and clean, nice room Could not get internet to work
My stay at the hotel was a pleasant time. At first I was a little worried because the outside wasn't what I imagined, but once I entered our room, it was very nice inside. My Boyfriend and I got that room because we were going to the Channel Island. The hotel was close (10 mins away) from the pier and it was a really good price. The room exceeded my expectation. I wouldn't mind staying there again. Upon our arrival, the sign was messed up, it didnt my the hotel look pleasant, and parking was a little tight, but overall, there was nothing to complain about the inside of the room and that is what's most important.
Gentleman at front desk was informative & courteous. Bed blankets & bathroom towels were stained (but not dirty).
Clean room, comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Very pleasant experience overall. Nothing major. The Lysol they use to clean room between guests is a bit too pungent when walking in. Opening window for an he clears it up. Not a huge issue
the king size bed, the shower, the big flat tv the color of the lights. I know tthis is a detail but this could be changed in order to have a more cozy room
The staff were extremely friendly/helpful with suggestions regarding where to go in town for nice restaurants, groceries, etc. The room was clean, stylishly decorated, and comfortable. The only thing that was missing were kleenexes.
I was impressed by the updated design in the interior. Fun! All the basic amenities were there, with a pool to boot. This is an outstanding value. There was quite a bit of noise leakage from the walkway outside our door. The room key had to be reset a few times. The coffee came in styrofoam cups (but hey, it was free!)
Bed mattress was extremely firm...a quick continental breakfast would be nice for over $100/nt.
location, parking plastic flooring in thne bedroom
We booked a room through Booking.com via KAYAK . There was no opportunity on the site to specify a non-smoking room. It never occurred to me while I was making the reservation that I would need to specify. The clerk said we should have reserved through the Motel 6 site. As they were full except for one non-smoking room, we had to choose whether to stay in a tobacco permeated room or cancel our reservation & find another place to stay. The clerk let us into the room to help us decide if we could tolerate it. When we decided we had to find another hotel, they cancelled our reservation without any problems. This is not a critique of Motel 6. I am very disappointed that Booking.com and/or KAYAK didn't allow me to choose a non-smoking room in advance or at least redirect me to the Motel 6 reservation site where I could have selected a non-smoking room.
Basic hotel, nothing fancy. Personel was not very friendly. Carpinteria is a nice town with good restaurants. Room was very basic, rooms looked steril.
It was quite. It was way overpriced.
The hardwood floors in the rooms were very nice, as was having the towels in little cubbies.
The location was decent, on the main setup and near the beaches. Broken ice makers, hot stuffy rooms, beds were as hard as a rock. Rooms were attempted to be updated, Ikea style- but much was broken and flimsy. Bare bones, for $100+/nt. I expect more.
Phil is a very nice man. 6am Sunday morning , the room door is opened by someone violently and the dead bolt stopped them. As I bound out of bed to proctect my wife I am transformed into a lion protecting its lady against a Trump son with a rifle trying to cut my tail off. I fling the door open with a rage looking for someone to fight. No one there. Fall back asleep, 7 am.. phone rings RING/RIiiIiinG. I pick up the phone. No one there. !!! 8 am, the maid enters to clean the room, boom, dead bolt saves the day again. We are tired. I check out and let the desk man know what happened. He was nice and promised to have management call me. I am still waiting for the call. I feel like we are just throw away items like so many trump supporters grabbed in the puśśy. We won't be staying there again. Phil was very nice though.
I have had to stay for an extended period of time. I am a newly discharged (honorably) army vet with ptsd alongside many other issues. The staff has been so amazing both to me in general, and understanding the challenges I may face. While being apart from my family, the staff and facility has provided me with a temporary place of solice.
Great surprise when we arrived very late there!!! very welcoming staff and there's a pool!! And in the morning whoa the beach is at 1 minute walking!!! nothing to say
Free parking close to accommodation, Motel easy to find, several nearby restaurants, free coffee in reception area
Close to a lot of restaurants and some attractions. Nice view in front of the hotel. Price was descent for Ojai. Staff was friendly. Rooms are small. Walls are very thin so can hear neighbors turn I their faucets and walk around. Patio was shared with neighbor and had construction so was not useful for dog (Patio room was required to allow dog). Floors squeaked in our room. Shower mirror had black splotches on it.
The staff were friendly and super accommodating. The location was a short walk into town but far enough away to be private and less expensive. It was next door to a golf course which permitted me to surprise my husband with the opportunity to play golf, since I knew he always has his clubs and paraphenelia in his trunk. The room was very comfortable, with two queen beds (although we only needed one) with very comfortable quilts and throws on them (also plenty of pillows), a mini kitchen with microwave, fridge and electric kettle with teas and coffees) eco-friendly goods for shower, soaps, etc., a large flat screen TV, and anything else you might need and had a lovely view from the back window. (our room was on the second floor. We noticed that the first floor rooms had little patios un back.) The hotel accommodated our request for an early check-in and a late check-out.) All together a lovely stay. Oh, and they had a continental breakfast with a wafflemaker. The only things I would suggest would be: (1) perhaps to have an option for a softer pillow rather than all pillows being on the harder side and (2) consider adding hard-boiled eggs or some other form of non-dairy protein to the continental breakfast for people whom dairy is not an option. These are only suggestions, not really dislikes.
The Outside of the Inn is very quaint. The rooms themselves are larger than you would expect. They also seem to have little cottages as well that were bigger. Would definitely come again. The only real thing I could complain about is that they didn't clean out the fridge, there was an open bottle of Pacifico and a couple other random drinks.
Had a great time in Ojai. Dinner and a community play. People were very friendly at the hotel. Bungalow was ok with a little more privacy. Flooring was separating. Bed moved on flloor. Headboard was leaning. At $200 for the night (tax included), just an ok value. Even for CA.
Easy check-in and check-out. Modern facilities and décor. Missing basic amenities such as a blow dryer, iron, shampoo/conditioner, mini fridge, etc. that motels typically offer. Would have been nice to at least have a blow dryer.
It was close to the event I was attending. No amenities, no coffee, no fridge, had to ask for blankets, not much for the money.
Very modern and clean. Accessible and an easy 15 minute drive to downtown SB. The faucet in the bathroom was a bit wobbly but everything else was just fine. Good bang for your buck!
Price for the area
I didn't like anything. The internet priced it $20. more than the sign hanging outside the motel. The bed smelled like pee or butt...a mixture of it. We left after being there for only a couple hours...drove back home 3 hours away with no sleep because the smell was disgusting. The television had really bad quality picture and sound.
The proximity to the beach, the room's comfortability was standard. Previous occupants of our room smoked in the bathroom, despite our request for a non smoking room
Came across one sweetes treceptionist. Good price It says it's a nonsmoker yet it still kinda have a bit of a cigarette smell
Close to beach Rooms are way to small for a family...Showers to small.
Staff was friendly on both check-in and check-out. The room looked exactly like the pictures on line, so there was no surprises. There wasn't enough towels. Although we had the air set for 68 it still felt humid and the blankets were really thin. Only ice machine was located by the front desk.
Your staff are lovelyI'm .There was sand in our bed when I pulled down the covers. We hadn't beeN to the beach...
The room was very clean and I liked how close I was to the beach. I wish it had a refrigerator, there was a family staying next to us that were obnoxious.
Loved that the night girl who was so sweet allowed me to request a later check out time and then the next day staff also even gave is an extra 30 min. Very nice of them all to do. WONDERFUL area for dogs potty. Cigg holes on comforter, non smoking room had ashtray and smelt like smoke , door had to be slammed really hard to shut properly
The staff was very friendly, available and helpful. Nice to have full kitchen! The street it's on can be a bit loud if you are near the front.
There was mold in the bathroom and we could not stay the second night because we could not breath in the room! Would not recommend this motel to anyone! They didn't even have a band aid.
Clean room for low price. Holes in Blanket, Big TV but didn't work properly, lot of Streetnoise, old Fashionated.
Great staff, nice rooms1
Rooms have been recently remolded with a modern look. Outside run-down, needs attention. No pool or spa.
The reception was remarkable. Friendly atmosphere and service was great and you got answer immeaditely to all your questions. Room was really nice and big, especially considerung the price. Location is little interesting, next to used car sales, but don't let it bother you.
We got a free upgrade from a extremely friendly manager. The room was spacious, well stocked with jaccuzi and large flatscreen tv and above all very, very clean. The bed was comfortable. We slept like babies. Would recommend this to all. We stayed at the Luxor in Vegas the night before, but the Viking was better!
Rooms were large and clean. Parking was very convenient and property is located on street not too far from Beach and recreation. Suite was very comfortable. Staff was very friendly, very welcoming and very flexible. I would stay there again. 10% tax not included in price quoted on the internet
they tried very hard, but it was what it was!
The customer service and courtesy was excellenct, they even up graded my room to a suite. The room had a large flat screen tv and a descent size kitchen, but the rooms themselves could use some upgrading. The doors would stick and I had to put some shoulder weight on them to open; the walls were thin and I could hear "EVERYTHING" from the surrounding rooms. If all you want is just a room with a bed to lay your head and a shower to clean yourself up, this is your place. If your looking for luxury you might want to skip this one.
The manager stayed till midnight to wait for our late check-in. He also allowed us to check out later than 11am. The kitchen is very convenient for a family. No coffee in unit.
The room was beautifully remodeled with a full kitchen and a soothing shower head and the staff was very friendly. I noticed a slight smoky smell in the room and the bedding.
i had to have a place to stay. there was not even a clock in the room to keep time. I did not feel safe there. Someone in the room next to ours was getting beat up the second night we were there. Many shady characters here.
We were surprised when we walked into the room. It didn't seem half bad, and though we didn't use a black light to determine how clean it actually was, the appearance did not indicate any dirt, however it was clear the bathtub had some stains the staff couldn't get rid of, and they didn't choose to replace the tub because it still worked fine. For the money, we would have been overall safisfied with our stay if it wasn't for one important detail: a working toilet. The first night the toilet worked fine for urine, and even the first round of #2. But by the next morning, #2 was not flushing. (Also the sink was not draining from minor facial hair from shaving). We alerted the staff when we left in the morning and by the time we got back in the evening, our room had been cleaned, the toilet seemed functional again, and so did the sink. However by night time with just urine (and very little (if any) toilet paper use, so as to not disrupt the delicate plumbing,) it was clogged by the end of the night. In the morning while getting ready, we of course had to urinate so we had to do it in the toilet that hadn't been flushed from the night before. Before we left in the morning we tried flushing it again, and this time it overflowed (urine and all.) We quickly threw towels on the ground to catch the waste going all over the floor, preventing it from leaving the bathroom, while we simultaneously turned off the running water to the toilet. We again alerted the staff before we left that day. When we returned, the toilet looked fine again. Long story short, we had 2 more days at the hotel that were pre-paid thanks to how kayak does things, and since we didn't feel it was a problem unique to our room and more likely a problem of plumbing for the hotel overall, we just simply had to "make due" (pun intended,) by using the toilet strictly for urine and having to use toilets at restaurants while we were out throughout the day, for our #2's. We feel like the ability to fully utilize the restroom that comes with your hotel room, is key to actually being able to call it a hotel room. We weren't mad at the staff because I would imagine they get tired of getting these calls and having to fix/unclog toilets all day, and they'd love nothing more than to have the problem solved for good, but the higher ups would rather squeeze as much profit as they can from what already seems a slim margin. Honestly, I don't think this is a problem with motel 6's overall (though this was our first,) so I would try a motel 6 again, but probably just not this one. (Oh, and no shampoo... Not a huge deal I guess.)
It was available Non smoking room had ashtrays and cigarette burns everywhere. My pregnant wife was bummed. I was just mad.
Overall good hotel. N/A
The title says it
Folks were friendly Very basic: no wash clothes and no breakfast
It was more comfortable than sleeping in my car You can't find this address with an app or gps, it's not on S Victoria but on Ventura Blvd. Room was shabby, frayed carpet, bagged up paint, bedside lights didn't work.
Nothing really stood out as a like. -terrible wifi in a room less than 20ft from The front office - was force to stand outside room to do any type of business work that required wifi - 1st room at back of motel didn't even get signal - attendant at front office blamed the place being full which it wasn't so this must be a ongoing problem they don't want to fix. - cooking facilities did not work
GOOD STAFF the soap and lotion, when opened seemed used. didnt feel clean.
Just location. old and dirty motel (but, not room). People drinking in the parking lot. People screaming and talking outside doors till early in the morning.
it is old, dirty, run down and in dire need of a refresh
The only reason to stay here is the price. Our first room smelled horribly of smoke, even though it was supposedly non-smoking. We were able to get another room, which was slightly better but still smelled.
The motel was disgusting. There were prostitutes and drug addicts going in and out of the rooms all night. And there were people fighting. I would not recommend that motel to anyone!
Nothing Pooly maintained, not very clean, worth half the price paid
Close to the beach and downtown Big TV in bedroom Comfortable bed Wifi didn't work or was extremely slow There was a pretty big spider in our bed when we arrived, didn't sleep very comfortably after that The remote to the TV didn't work Room was small On a busy street/loud
When we first checked in, there were a couple of really rowdy guys in the adjoining room... The staff was quick to change us with no upcharge for a larger room. Finger prints around light fixture on the ceiling, At first glance was clean, but it was only surface clean. Both rooms needed a serious deep cleaning.
Close to downtown and ventura harbor, low price, free internet Hotel is in front of a junkyard, hotel premises unclean in places (along corridors) though it was clean in the rooms, some rooms have long term tenants who hang out outside the rooms at night which can make you feel unsafe. The name is misleading as the ocean is nowhere in view.
Awful place. Dirty, torn bedspread, could hear every little word next door, cheap but never again!
I didn't like anything about this Motel. It was a dirty little motel in a rundown section of this town. I will never stay there again. You would think that after charging $75.00 per night. They would at least keep it clean. I was awake from 6:00 a.m. by the neighbors who were drinking beer and speaking very loud. I very disappointed by this motel.
Cigarette burns on bed, blood stains on shower curtain, uncomfortable tile floor, room was tiny
Nothing Don't waste your time/money here! Overpriced for what it is - which is a cheap awful dirty motel with zero hospitality and rude owners. $75 automatic "cleaning fee" for dogs - asks to see service dog certificate (which is against the law as written in the American Disability Act). NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! Run down rooms in disrepair. Overall money gouging and false advertisement. Unable to cancel reservation without being charged $100. Worst experience I've ever had staying at a motel/hotel. Lesson learned - next time I'll spend the extra money to stay somewhere that is actually live-able and where I am treated kindly.
Cheap and very close to the ocean (2 blocks?) All staff we dealt with were nice. No A/C, just a box fan and it was stuffy. No screen on the window so anyone can just come on it. We closed it and locked it at night but got really stuffy in the room.
The location was perfect--on a little street with several restaurant and bar options, a 2-minute walk to the beach, a short shuttle ride to downtown, and not on a super busy road. The staff were above and beyond, so nice and hospitable. The room decor was old and the beds weren't top notch. This is not a complaint, because I got what I paid for.
Updated room No air conditioner, felt unsafe with window open with bums across street at liquor store corner staring over, outside hotel run down with rotten floor boards.
