The surroundings - countryside, quiet, beauty. The staff was very friendly. We could here something from below us (either washing machine or dryer), and also, running water. We stayed four nights, and they did not change the towels even though it was obvious they were not to be used again. Also, the light over the stove was out and so the sink/cooking area was very dark.
Very beautiful environment and nice authenthic setting. People smoking in the morning very close to the breakfast room
rooms are spacious and comfortable.breakfast is good value for money. not enough light/lamps in the rooms. towels are very thin.
Nothing Our first room we received was dirty with old towels and bed unmade from previous guest, then our second room, was dirty but livable, so we stayed without complaint. Rooms looked very unkept with the bathroom being noticably filthy. This could be a fantastic hotel with a little more upkeep of the facilities.
Quiet setting. Perfect to have the hotelroom so close to the driving range and hole 1! Nice course. Restaurant was open on evening of arrival. We missed a sun-shade parasol on the terras. Batteries quality and number of channels was minimal.
Self catering, clean, proximity to Disneyland Paris and countryside, tennis courts and pool freely available, very helpful staff. For self catering appartment for 6 only had 2 rings and microwave no real oven. For us as family of 5 it felt that the self catering part was maybe only for breakfast as not really able to cook full dinners easily for 5 with facilities available.
The location was quiet, restful and a close drive to CSG airport the following day. The only disappointment was the dinner at the restaurant. We found the serving staff to be very inexperienced (were they in training in September?) and the meal was not memorable.
We wanted to be close to Disney, but we wanted somewhere nice to stay and it was very important to us that the duplex was clean and comfortable with having a young family. On the second night we stayed there there was an awful smell in the duplext (we did have an apartment with a kitchen in it).The smell clung to your clothes and the bedding, i think who ever had stayed in the room before us had cooked a fryed meal. But that was all that was off putting, the staff were really helpfull and friendly and the setting is beautiful, the room was ideal for us with a young family. It was close to Disney, but also a relaxing retreat away from it.
The hotel was excellent - the staff were very polite and helpful, the rooms were clean, spacious and made perfect accommodation for our family of four. An easy 20 minute drive to Disneyland. The fact that the hotel had a pool was a bonus for our children. We would certainly recommend this quiet hotel and may well come back for the golf!
Staff very frindley and helpfull Bathroom very small if there was a fridge in the rooms it would be very helpfull to keep drinks cold
Very helpfully and nice staff
price, close to disney staff not friendly and helpfull, no warm water in shower. drain shower flodded, cat in "restaurant". hotel looks bad and not maintained
Nothing, horrible experience The staff
There was a bed, a toilet and a shower, sorry thats it, it was horrible but it was clean and the staff were friendly It cost us 50 euros to get to from the airport as when we arrived in Paris, we found out it is in the middle of know where. Only stay here if you are hiring a car. There are no shops or anything to do near by and the local town is a 1/2 hour walk along a busy road. The room itself was very basic. It then cost us another 25 euros to get to Disneyland the next day (they advertise the fact they are close to the park) in the only taxi available in the area so he could charge what he wanted. Basically if you hire a car and don't mind very basic accommodation, stay here if not don't!
Frendley staff english speeaking, ner Disney, ok for the price. If you pay for at hotel at this price you could not complain!.
10 minutes from Disney Land and 30 from Paris city centre, helpful staff - manager, Bit noisy from the main road, and service when done it would be good if the room was hovered as well, especially when srtaying with kids.
It was affordable place to stay and staff was very friendly and useful, room are small but for 1 or 2 night it’s fair enough.Hotel simple mais bien situé et le personel est sympathique.La chambre etais petite mais bien concu 3 lit dans 12m2.Petit dejeuner croissant et café et conseil de voyage inclus :-).
Unfortunately there was nothing positive to say. Maybe that there was a vending machine, that provided emergency food as there is no food or restaurants within walking distance, and at that, it is a sketchy neighbourhoods The neighbourhood is deserted, feels dangerous and unsafe. The main door has been yanked on, giving the impression that it is not secure. The reception is open limited hours and if you do not have a phone (international traveller) then you get screwed. The people were not hospitable nor friendly, also did not have knowledge on how to get anywhere via public transportation. The room was DISGUSTING. I could go on for hours. The hair all over the bed, food. The capets haven't been vacuumed (yet alone cleaned) in years. black mold in the shower, broken door to the bathroom. Snot on the falling of the ceiling curtain. Bugs, cockroaches... I could go on forever. Don't stay here.
No air conditionong available.hotel close at 12 noon to 1700 and closes at 2200 then opens at 0630
calm, nice rooms l'employé de l'accueil
The rooms were very quiet, which was appreciated. The breakfast was very good. The dinner (vegetable lasagne, made with aubergine) was not good at all. Three of us ordered it and none of us enjoyed it. On the other hand, the waitress was very good to us, despite that she had an entire soccer team to serve at the same time.
Easy access to the airport and to Disney.
The hotel was very basic and the breakfast was very poor for the price paid.
Breakfast was very good, staff very helpful Room was very small
That the hotel is close to Paris We arrived very late approx. 3 am - the night porter could only speak french however ours was not good enough. Fire alarm at 4.45 in the night - everybody was awake however no information was given what to do. It was a false alarm. Additionally we went to breakfast at 9.15 unfortunately the breakfast buffet was more than empty -however we were fully charged for it. No excuse - no sorry - it was a short stay but we will not forget this "special event" We were travelling with three children who - just fel asleep were awake again at 4.45...
We had stayed in this hotel before and found it clean and pleasant. This stay the room was not very clean. Location, road works from Disneyland Park blocking off Meaux with no diversion signs. Took nearly an hour from Disney to the Hotel when it should have taken about 20 minutes.
The breakfast is expensive.
Tea and Coffee facilities breakfast - was expensive, very little food - no baguettes, tea, few crossiants - had to keep having to ask for some food to eat although it was a help yourself buffet. We also didn't get the room that we booked, when we arrived we had to have two rooms - which although they gave us for the same price it was inconvwenient with two small children.
Staff quite friendly. Breakfast good. Lack of hot water
Breakfast perfectly fine! Room fine too! Location not great...
Its location. We found it hard to get to because I did not lookout for a suitable map, but we had a very easy run to the motorway in the morning. I would choose the steak rather than the fish.
I liked the convenient location for a through traveller, the friendly staff and the wide dinner menu choice. Nothing
It was an easy and cheap place to stay for the event I was attending close by.
It was near where I was attending - but the hotel itself was forgettable. 9 euros for breakfast - for me a cup of coffee and a piece of toast - too expensive.
Outstanding help at the front desk to confirm our plane reservation and give us directions. Room was in poor condition, especially the bathroom. Mildew on tile grout, not perfectly clean, smashed hole in bathroom door, baseboard in bedroom area across from bathroom was eroding. (room # 11)
More than adequate for a night's stay on the way to the port from a camping holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. -
Everything fine in room, restuarant etc Quite easy to miss the sign and the turning when coming out of Meaux
simple but clean, comfortable
Minor point, but no rubbish bin in the room. The breakfast buffet ran out of food on two of the three days we were there.
Booked quadruple room. Upon arrival it had changed to two doubles for us and our two kids. Next stay (one week later), there was no hot water, although they did give us a free breakfast to compensate.
It has a convenient location to Charles De Gaulle airport. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The location is perfect for Paris and for Disneyland. Room keys fit all rooms!!
Staff were courteous. Linens crisp and clean. Hotel is very basic, not much else to comment on. Did not have spare toilet paper, soap in the room on any day of our stay and as such we had to seek out the staff late at night when returned to the hotel for appropriate supplies. Asked for non-smoking room, but room still smelled of smoke.
Clean basic hotel room with few amenities but well placed on the bend of the Marne and with ready access to backdoor Charles de Gaulle (if one has a GPS or knows the complicated set of routes to get there) in about 45 minutes..thus avoiding the frequent snarls of the A routes. The hotel appears to be in transition to a new owner As in previous reviews the lack of electrical outlets in the rooms are a problem as well as a slow drain sink pointed up previously. The shower bath worked well with instant hot water however.
The location at a bend in the Marne River was perfect for walks in the center of Meaux. The staff at the hotel were very helpful with restaurant suggestions. Parking was easy, in the underground hotel garage. There were no electrical outlets in the room or bath. I could not use my hairdryer, so wet hair was a decided disadvantage.
Proximity to train station and Eurodisney Parking and size of room
It was only one night In general, I do not like any of the Campanile hotels; I booked it because it was the nearest to where we had to be that weekend
Quiet area, close proximity to Disneyland which was purpose of our visit. Rooms are very tired looking, no hairdryer, uncomfortable pillows. Room was very hot when we arrived as heating had been left on full even though it was a warm evening. Mould in the bathroom, general low budget look and not what we have experienced when staying at a Campanile in France or the uk before. Was relatively expensive as similar type of hotel next door was offering rooms at 35 Euros.
Staff was kind and polite, dinner and breackfats were very good. The sleeping room was correctly warm.
It is a fair accomondation for a budget price. Don't expect anything else than a bed and a small toilet. Parking is easy to access and free. a Carrefour supermarket is around the corner.PAY Attention: the reception is not always open and in order to access the room you need to do electronic check in, which works only using your Credit card number!! So, Never forget your credit card! The rooms are accessible from the side of the building, leading to the fact that the only window is right on the passage to the other rooms. it does not make you feel safe to leave the window open, hence the ventiliation in the room is not great. There were no indication to easily find the hotel. a very kind person drove me to the hotel. It was not too complicated from Meaux, so a couple of route indication would have been sufficient.
The price including free parking. As a Mac user it was not possible to connect to Internet at this hotel, and contacting the staff via email helped anything. I sent a complete description of my situation, also that using Windows XP Prof. with Internet Explorer v. 6.0 access also failed, but never got a reply (to this date).
location and free parking
Convenience to Disney
Breakfast was ok. Location was ok, as we were staying overnght before gong to dsneyland for 3 day stay. Rooms very small. Very, very basc faclities. Bunk bed over head of double bed..banged my head on several occassions. Young daughter slept in bottom double bed (despite wanting to go in bunk) - wouldnt like to think of the consequences of her trying to negotiate the bunk bed ladder in the night to go to the loo!
the location/cleanliness and value for money
The location to the train station Infof regarding local transport
Value for money Non smoking room was requested but didnt get one.
Neighbours were banging the doors shut frequently, late at night. People stood outside talking, had to shut the window.
breakfast was ok, location was handy enough for me but I could not recommend this place to anyone it was TERRIBLE would never use again, tiny room and basic doesn't even come close it was seriously bad, bunk bed and 1 single bed not 3 single beds so totally unsiutable, pre-formed "caravan type" bathroom that stank of stale urine, have seen better prison cells! pay slightly more and go elsewere, its not worth the savings!
The relaxed atmosphere that it engendered from the moment you checked in. I couldn't afford to stay longer!
It felt like a Belgian hotel with a military style management, perhaps due to its history. Very inquisitive registration form requesting non-essential info. Cheap interiors specially the floor in the lounge. Very good chef. Definitely not a chateau. Maybe a manor house. Fifty Euros overpriced.
the friendly and helpful staff, great place to stay
The picturesque location (small town, old redone building)
A lovely charming hotel with a friendly owner who makes you feel most welcome. The town is just beautiful, with many excellent restaurants close by and gives you a great experience of 'rural France' if you are limited for time.
Great location at the center of Villers-Cotterets. Free parking in the courtyard. Very friendly French/ English/ German speaking staff aiming to make you feel welcome and sharing the history of the region. Clean, functional rooms. Very nice overall atmosphere. Good breakfast for French standards. Good value for money! Beware of the attic rooms in August ... Il fait chaud!
Charming courtyard, comfortable room, good location, courteous and helpful owner. Breakfast was minimal.
The proprieter was charming and multi-lingual and his attention to our needs as a family was faultless. The room was large and comfortable with lots of character, which reflected the hotel as a whole.
Excellent family suite-spacious and well appointed. Very good breakfast. Very helpful staff.
Everything - a simply lovely hotel. No!
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Central location made it easy to walk anywhere. Lovely situation. Breaksfast was a bit skimpy.
Spacious character bedroom, four poster bed, and super new bathroom.Secure parking in courtyard. Reception only in attendance after 5.00pm and in morning.Very helpful though.
Beautiful settings and very pleasant staff. Food although as with most of France is average with little choice. Over priced Bar prices
The scenery was pretty, very country. I liked our little cottage away from the main building. The food was excellent. The terrace was nice. Rooms could have had a more up to date shower or one that had a full glass door so as not to spray water every where.
Beautiful location, convenient to Disneyland Paris, very helpful staff, stables provided added bonus to my children No coffee making facilities in rooms, pillows were not very comfortable
Due to incompetence of personel the amount for 5 day stay was blocked on my credit card 3 times!
The swimming pool and the tennis courten the quitte environs In the bathroom its smellts awfull
The hotel is a wonderful building with stables adjacent. It is also 20 kms from Disneyland Paris which is convenient. The restaurant was very good and catered for our 3 year old grand daughter very well. Bedroom was spacious and contained everything we needed.
All the various facilities and the surrounding countryside. If you are using it as your base for EuroDisney it is too remote and too far.
pleasent, clean and friendly. A nice place to stay with easy access to paris from disneyland train station. Breakfast is continental buffet and enough of it. very good price. pool was always empty so free use The food in the hotel was poor given the price of 39 Euros each without drinks. I would have also prefered to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Tv not in english but we were not there to watch tele so not a problem really. place in located in the middle of no where and nearest shop is in Maeux (15 mins by car)
Exactly what we went for and expecte.. Great relaxed location within easy reach of paris No,everything was what was stated
Very comfortable bedroom. Beautiful country setting. Horses to ride, plus pool and tennis courts. Not too far from channel ports and train. Very good food. None.
