8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and host very nice. House very clean.
Cons: Sharing lavatory facilities felt awkward to me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Best guesthouse I’ve stayed in in Japan. The host is a dude.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My dad and I loved Everything! Euji is one of the best hosts I have had on my travels. So welcoming and helpful. He has a little bar downstairs which is such a cool way to meet new people. Just a really super awesome nice guy and his wife is super lovely. It was such a beautiful place. I highly recommend for all. 100 out of 10
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. The owner speaks fluent english. He's very kind, helpful, funny and always ready to give you information or advices. The bed is confortable. A friendly place for meeting other guests!
Cons: The only tking: sad to leave the place! Well perfection is not part of this world, then I gonna just make a remark about the breakfast ... basic! But anyway it's a good point to get one!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Eiju, was very friendly and provided many good travel recommendations around Matsushima. The onsen nearby recommended by him has a marvelous view of the famous Fukuura Bridge that I like the most during my trip.
Cons: The accommodation is very new and clean. It would be perfect if I had a more comfortable pillow (it was too thin for me).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place! Our host Eiju was very nice and fun to talk with, and gladly helped us with his knowledge of matsushima. His english was really good - better than any other host we had in the 7 hostels we visited so far in japan. highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Completely harmonic stay. Totally nice host, complimentary breakfast, espresso / coffee and then - the location - is simply not beatable, just 100 m to the Godai-do, almost surreal...Will surely stay again next time in the area..
Cons: Nothing to write here, amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in a new, attractive, and comfortable house. He even provided a (simple) breakfast!
Cons: The bathroom, shower, and sinks are shared with the other guests. This was no problem, though. Facilities were clean, spacious, and practical.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well located, clean and perfect for one night in Matsushima. You´ll have cofee in the morning which is quite convenient if you leave early, because everything opens late and closes early in Matsushima.
Cons: Be aware that they do not accept cards. More comfortable pillows would have been nice. And you should know that there is only one toillet for six rooms. It wasn´t an issue for us but it might be a problem at certain hours.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very convenient - close to a train station, cruise and popular sightseeing areas. The host was very friendly, attentive and helpful. The room and facilities were clean.
Cons: The bed quilt kept getting out of its case, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom floormat needs a bit of attention.

Pros: The facilities are very functional and the breakfast is delicious. Time for check-in and check-out is very generous in comparison with other Japanese hotels.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is near JR Sendai exit EAST.
Cons: The hotel didn't offer bottle water.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Vista is a very nice hotel in a convenient location. I always stay on the west side of Sendai Station, but I thought I'd try the east side for a change. It's quieter on the east side with easy access to the subway lines and JR lines which are minutes away.
Cons: On my last day before check-out, I got a note that the cleaning staff must enter my room to clean up. I really wish I had a choice of not being disturbed at all during my stay. I was checking out, so I didn't make a fuss. I have my reasons for not being disturbed--one being that I have expensive medical equipment (i.e., CPAP) that should not be touched or moved. Also, because there's really no drawers (as is common in USA hotels) in the room, I literally live out of my suitcase--so preparing for the cleaning crew would be a major inconvenience. At least most hotels now give guests the choice of whether to have their rooms cleaned or not, day by day, or not al all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Simple, comfortable and affordable. Quick walk from Sendai train station and the subway station. Friendly and helpful staff with some English skills. Room was good sized with deep bathtub and comfortable bed. Perfect for a couple who’s looking to save some money but not sacrifice location and comfort.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The place is rear to the JR Sendai station, about 4 minutes.
Cons: The hotel didn’t offer water.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. Within 5 mins walking distance to the Sendai Station where you can take the JR line or Shinkansen. Nearby to restaurants and a family mart. Hotel has laundromat, makes it convenient. Try the restaurant just next to the hotel that serves really good Gyutan.
7.5 Good
Pros: Reasonable price and very good location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location and great service
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is almost right next to the main station and super easy to reach, around the corner there is a 7/11. Hotel is very clean, breakfast had a lot of variety and the hot bath was also quite relaxing!
Cons: Some dishes in the breakfast could have been served warmer but all in all it was quite good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, friendly staff. Good amenities, clean room.
Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East - Sendai - Building
5
8.8 Excellent (5,227 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East, you'll be centrally located in Sendai, within a 5-minute drive of Tohoku University and Sendai International Center. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right next to station and shopping centre with a wonderful view down a Main Street from our room to enjoy.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very convenient location - right above the train station and restaurants; close to arcades and much more. Spacious and modern bathroom. Amazing view from the room - a huge window facing the city.
Cons: The room's carpet.. There was no separation between the room's carpet and the entrance. Which made it more likely for other guests to wear their outside shoes inside the room.. (especially foreigners). Yes, there were some slippers provided, but they were too small for my husband and he had to walk on the carpet without them..what I really disliked.. Also, we did not have enough space to comfortably open our suitcase.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Easy access to everything, transportation, shopping, dining and sightseeing. Very clean and nice set up for bathroom.
Cons: Long wait for elevator. Not enough for the size of hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous ambiance, talented staff, delicious breakfast buffet, lovely well-outfitted room
Cons: Everything was excellent.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location is spot on, easy to access everything and right at the train station. Sound proofing is good, coffee machine food and quality is good.
Cons: Both my partner and I kept coughing and sneezing when moving the duvet in bed.. when getting in or out of bed, or moving the blankets, we’d start sneezing, or getting watery eyes, coughing etc. I think the room must be very dusty, because I seen the desk top was dusty in the morning when we work up. If it’s not dust, then perhaps something hazardous... could be due to the recent opening... construction dust or something?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the station.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is just right above the Sendai Station. We were mistaken between 2 hotels - Metropolitan and Metropolitan Sendai East which one is next to the East exit while the other one is adjacent to the platform. Staff were so helpful, trying to explain how to get to the one that we booked in the station but we couldn't understand what they explained so they just walked us to the hotel instead which was a few steps from the platform. I have asked for the train view, unfortunately the staff gave us the room above the station so didn't see much of the tracks but we just let it go because only 1 night stay. The amenities in the shower room was a surprised - very thoughtful. The internet TV was a nostalgia sooth. We manage to watch our local TV online at the end. In case you worries about the noise - we didn't come across with this at all.
Cons: Though the sign in the station to the hotel was very clear but you still need some help to actually get to the lift to go up to reception unless you walk directly from the Shinkansen track then you will not miss it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location perfect.
Cons: Room too small

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff and clean, quite large rooms. Overall a very good place to stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything, especially the room size.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff is friendly. Free onsen and ramen! Value for money!
Cons: Location is quite far. Had to walk about 15-20 mins to get there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to ferry port and walking distance to outlet mall.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Ample parking lots. Fast check-in, reception staff friendly and well-verse in English. Twin bedroom is very neat and clean, though it's quite small. Segregated area for toilet, wash basin and shower room with no bathtub. Nice touch by the hotel for providing free coffee at the lobby, and soy sauce ramen noodles at late night for supper. Good onsen facilities, with a different numbers of indoor and outdoor pools and tubs, one of the reasons why I always like to stay in a Dormy Inn. Great breakfast, with a variety of dishes, including gyutan, or beef tongue. Just a short walk to Mitsui Outlet Park, and also a convenience store nearby.
Cons: Hotel's location still not available in some navigation maps, or showing a different name. Have to locate visually, thanks to the big sign on the hotel's rooftop.
6.8 Good
Pros: The onsen is particularly nice. The free noodles were very nice too.
Cons: Disappointed that they didn't have baby beds on offer at the hotel, it made sleeping there with an infant much harder. There was also some filth, including a dirty cup, underneath the bed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: New facility so it was nice and clean.
Cons: It was surrounded by factories.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: onsen in the hotel is a plus.
Cons: Location is a little bit far from the center, but it is really comfortable if you drive. Pleanty of parking lot.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I love the onsen.

Pros: Location, clean room.
Cons: Small room but it comes with the price.

Pros: Clean modern building right in front of the station. Easy to walk everywhere downtown. Very quiet inside with good sound blocking windows. Breakfast was simple but had enough variety.
Cons: Room was a little small.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast (included with the room) was delightful. Lounge offered a free flow of (premium) tea, coffee, and hot chocolate pretty much throughout the day. Great location, being within a 5min walk to the Sendai train station.
Cons: Checks all my boxes for a good, comfortable and practical business hotel. Nothing to not like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy 5-minute walk to Sendai Station via the overhead bridge (with escalators). A few steps from the hotel entrance: a convenience store, shopping arcade and the yummiest 'taiyaki' I've ever had. Across the street: big 24-hour discount shop Don Quijote that sells everything (duty-free for above 5000yen, with passport). I love the breakfast every morning; small spread of superb quality: freshly-baked pastries, hard-boiled eggs that are done just right with lovely soft yolks that taste so good, bread, soup, salad, fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, cocoa, coffee, tea, and take-away cups if you want to have the beverage in your room. After a full day out, it's nice to come back and relax in the lounge with free drinks and ice-cream, available from afternoon to 11pm; you just help yourself! Thank you very much to all the hotel staff for another wonderful stay that I had in Sendai!
Cons: I asked about shinkansen train timing and I was given the wrong information by the reception. Luckily, it did not really affect my travel plans. For important travel information, it's safest to ask at the tourist information centre at Sendai Station. So actually this is just a note of caution to other travelers as it is my own fault for not checking at the right place earlier. The hotel staff were wonderful, always cheerful and eager to help.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean modern hotel, with contemporary furnishings in light coloured tones. Excellent central location but very quiet. Easy access to transport and a myriad of restaurant options. Breakfast was limited in range but with quality offerings including fresh fruit. Choice of pillows. Efficient reception staff. Good value.

Yumoto Kissho - Osaki - Building

8.9 Excellent (38 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Yumoto Kissho in Osaki, you'll be steps from Naruko Onsen and Nakayamadaira Onsen. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and a vending machine. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A "high end" onsen hotel with tatami rooms. We went for one night to hike to Naruko gorge. Sadly is the hiking way along the river still blocked and while some websites claim it will open soon again do i not think so. The tourists are steered away from the river (for safety?) into some less exciting side valley... but the gorge was an excellent spot for autumn colors.
6.8 Good
Pros: Big rooms with nice view on the mountain Food buffet with a lot of choices (but quality is quite average) Onsen: one inside and outside onsen which is relaxing Staff friendly, but limited English
Cons: Room: you can not adjust the air conditioning, only choose power, not temperature. There is a ventilator which is permanent running and noisy. Limited amenities in bathroom. TV with limited choice. Food: breakfast and dinner is buffet style which does not fit the dishes. Some hot dishes were cold, noodles stick together I would not book this Onsen hotel again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable room. Beautiful location. The food was delicious and we ate in our own little room.
Cons: Outdoor bath was closed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Huge room with a view of the town and surrounding mountains. Dinner and breakfast buffets we're also very good. I was able to get a private outdoor onsen which was fantastic. To top it off, shuttle service to and from the train station is provided.

7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was close to tourist destinations. Staff was very nice and very friendly. We got a lot of information about what to do in the place.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean and central
Cons: Slightly aged hotel, but acceptable
7.0 Good
Pros: Very basic breakfast, about 10 minutes walk from town and railway station. Close to sea if that is your thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service and cool private bath experience!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. There was a basic onsen available and you need to book it on arrival. Very clean and spacious rooms.
Cons: Very close to the main road, but not as noisy as you might imagine. It’s a ten minute walk to Maikan, which is where everything is, along a busy road with many lorries. There is little to eat anywhere in the area after about 5 but there’s a 7Eleven close by. And you need it!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great service, very friendly. Very comfortable rooms with in-room toilet and shower. Simple, cheap breakfast available, perfect for my kids.
Cons: The hotel is a bit far from the sights in Matsushima (about 15 minutes walk). However this is doable and there is a 7-11 and restaurants nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small but perfectly fine to stay. They offer a basic breakfast, but it is also possible to get food at the convenience store nearby and eat the dining room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were super friendly and helpful

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. Close to everything and a nice view. The room was spacious and clean, the toilet was fully automated, the staff was nice and the onsen was a relaxing place to end your day of sightseeing. Absolute recommendation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We weren't here terribly wrong but the staff at the front desk were super helpful and very friendly. They have a cute photo project involving a plush Date. The bed was more comfortable than at the Premier Mitsui I stayed at before this hotel. The room was very nicely sized. They had a well priced room service menu that served late at night. I've not seen that elsewhere.
Cons: The room had a faint smoky smell to it despite being non-smoking. I sort of wish the whole hotel was non-smoking. The washer and dryer at this hotel were worse than at some of the other places I stayed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location near Sendai Station.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very large by Japanese standards, modern and comfortable. Could not fault it. Have had nothing but good experiences with Mitsui Garden Hotels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the banana black tea and the other tea selections!

Pros: Friendly and courteous staff. Nice room. Great breakfast. Good location. Wishes we stayed longer.
Cons: Everything was great.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the location is great.
Cons: The receptionists need to improve their English. One of them can't even understand the numbers. The bathtub creaks when you step on it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location, near to all the shopping areas and just around the car rent from the subway station. We had a room on a high floor (17) which afforded us a great view over the city.
Cons: Nothing bad to report.

Pros: Dinner and breakfast buffet were very special. Great fun to watch your tempura and steak being cooked in front of you. There's a drinks room with sake and Nikka apple wine so I got to sample them all. Everything, including all drinks, is included in the price. The hotel was designed to maximise the views of the bay. It's stunning.
Cons: Very quirky decor, sort of 80s luxe! Kind of fun though.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Large room with very large window looking out on the bay and islands of Matsushima. Terrific rooftop onsen, moonview and sunrise while enjoying onsen bath. Free evening music performance in the lobby. Delicious breakfast buffet. Short walk from the train station.

Pros: View, food, customer service, shuttle
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was absolutely lovely. We had the open air hot bath in our room with a view of the Bay. During our overnight stay, we used it twice and loved it both times. Breakfast was yummy and the beds were large and comfortable.
Cons: Some of the pillows were a bit too firm for my liking. The view of the bay from our 2nd floor room wasn’t the best. Walking around the garden made the view next to nonexistent since there are large shrubberies and a concrete wall blocking the view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views, onsens and food are excellent. It is the best japanese ryokan I have ever been.
Cons: Nothing.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The onsens The breakfast was a pleasant surprise
Cons: Food - all Japanese Refreshments - all Japanese Amenities - as an example pool closed, all gardens were unkept, no staff to assist. From the moment we entered it clearly was not a place for westerners. Aside from being the only ones staying, we were not made to feel welcome AT ALL The map provided was unclear and all in japanese
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very impressive food and beverage selections for both dinner and breakfast. Free bar from check-in time and mini concert after dinner made our holidays even more relaxing
Cons: We were a bit confused with pick up from Matsushima station as there was no sign for hotel shuttle unless you asked from officer at train station

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, dry cleaning/laundry services, and laundry facilities. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: As with other Dormy Inns, this is an economical choice that was well serviced with facilities like the onzite onsen and laundry . It is fairly close to the station, and is close to shops and restaurants. The staff are very helpful.
Cons: The breakfast offering was a set menu with a few options for a buffet - and the beef stew was very unusual to a western pallet.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I choose Dormy Inn for its Hot Spring facility whenever I traveled in Japan if possible. Location is good within waling distance to Sendai station, shops, and restaurants.
Cons: nothing particular
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very silent. The breakfast was absolutely lovely: you can pick bread or croassaint then they give you a a full meal, including a very nice soups; salad buffet and coffee and juice. The coffee was decent. The onsen was nice too.
Cons: The room was a little small, not enough space to open 2 big luggage. Its more suited for business workers with small bags.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room is very clean. Close to station. English-speaking staff. There is an onsen within the premise.
Cons: Breakfast selection became worse since the last time I stayed here.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location. Near to Sendai station which is direct to airport, and just a few steps to the underground. Lots of restaurants around the hotel.
Cons: The room is clean and the bed is very comfortable. However there is a strong sewage smell from the bathroom. I close the bathroom door and switch on the circulation fan and that seems to work. I don’t use the bathroom in the room throughout my stay there due to the smell. I used the onsen bath instead which is on the third floor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good in overall
7.0 Good
Pros: We focussed on Onsen and the hotel offered what we exactly looking for. A perfect size public bath. We enjoyed both inside and outside bath. Complimentary noodles was a nice hospitality. The distance from Sendai station to the hotel is a certain walk through the shopping street and save you a time to shop because you can combine the trip on the way back to the hotel.
Cons: The bed was fluffy and the room size was too small. We do not have much space to move around and end up sitting on the bed for daily activity and found it difficult to get up when we sunk on the bed.
7.5 Good
Pros: Onsen
Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Cons: The room is wet and the air conditioner smells, bathroom is so small that only allow a man to turn around, that's not possible to take a shower.
7.5 Good
Pros: Guest room so good and Onsen good
