Cons: Needs a swimming pool to make it absolutely perfect!

Pros: Rooms are just excellent, huge and with spaces to stay comfortably (bedroom, living room and even terrace); wonderfull illumination and distribution; beds are those on which you drop asleep just by touching the pillow. But the best I the staff who is not just friendly and helpful, they are full of sympathy.

Pros: Agustín and his family were very welcoming and responsive. Agustín even loaned me a fan when I asked him for one. Our room was clean and lovely, with french doors that opened onto a little balcony with lovely views of the green hills of the Basque Country. It was quiet and private, but also only a 10 minute drive into Hondarribia. The breakfast was good, and the other guests were friendly and quiet. All in all a wonderful stay, and we would return again!

Pros: An absolutely lovely place to stay. The room is very nicely decorated. The bed is very comfortable. The owner was really friendly and we woke up with the smell of freshly baked croissants. Breakfast was served outside with a look over the valley. Definitely recommend staying here!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Characterful room with the most amazing views. Fantastic breakfast.
Cons: Nothing; I would very happily return
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had read previous reviews and knew this would be an interesting hotel to locate, but in the end that became part of the charm! Once at the hotel the location is just beautiful - rural, spacious and quiet. Check in was easy and friendly and the room was very comfortable.
Cons: As interesting as the drive is to arrive at the hotel it was still my least favorite thing about the hotel. Having said that we would stay here again if we had the opportunity.

Pros: Location was amazing. Room was large, and bathroom beautiful
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location near the beach is great!!!
Cons: The price of the room was expensive.
5.8 Okay
Pros: great location, poor service. It was a landmark holiday for me and my partner and we were told we would be "taken care of" by email, but we got nothing bar a tiny box of chocolates and a bottle of apple juice. I had requested a sea view room weeks in advance when I booked, and when they emailed to confirm that I would be "taken care of" they didn't bother to tell me that wasn't possible even though they clearly will have known. It really soured our whole experience as we ended up paying premium rates for an average room.
Cons: See above!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was great hotel was modern and clean
Cons: Laundry service was poor
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel. Superb location and brilliant location for the old town and views across the bay. Roof top a special favourites
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and Friendly Service, spacious rooms (also cheaper categories), Unbeatable Terrace
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in the old city center and at the same time our room was with a sea view. Everything is very close. I would say, location is very good! Rooms were clean, staff polite and helpful. Breakfast is a bit weird. Quite some hot stuff can only be ordered by the card. It's still included in the price, but takes quite some time to get it ready. Like I was waiting for 15-20 minutes to get my bacon and sausages. Still, overall impression about the hotel is quite good. I would definitely stay here again when I visit this nice city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the most amazing hotels I have ever been to. Location was perfect, the terrace was amazing, the food was incredible. To travel with kids or just romantic it is the best hotel in San Sebastian by far. Love every minute of it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms as well as the public areas were beautiful.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and service
Cons: Room rate
8.3 Excellent
Pros: we liked the building, the décor, the service, the location above all, we liked the staff and the fact that they have been very helpful across the process. Before our stay, they were helpful in managing a change of room, in managing a change of dates, and during the stay in dealing/responding to some issues that we had with the room
Cons: too expensive even for such a luxury property and with some sound proofing issues in our room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was delicious.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location. Facilities like gym. Breakfast- rich
Cons: Staff at check in / checkout (not welcoming, couple of robotic questions but no actual interest ). Breakfast service - slow ( needed to ask repeatedly for the coffee while we gave up waiting for a pancake which never came)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A luxury hotel for a very special anniversary with my wife that I hoped would be very special. From the minute we arrived nothing was to much trouble. Would pay what we paid for that type of service and luxury
Cons: Nothing really
9.5 Excellent
Pros: everything
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, short walking distance to the town centre and beaches. Pleasant surroundings for a walk as well. The restaurants and facilities are very nice too.
Cons: Not much really... I found having to use the card for lifts a little pointless given you can use the stairs. I didn't get a chance to visit the gym/spa.

Pros: Beautifully clean but friendly. Stunning location.
Cons: Nothing it’s perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING! Family run establishment, passionate, enthusiastic, and caring crew. After spending a few days in a 4 Star hotel with Michelin star rating (and being very underwhelmed) we arrived at Malkorra. Nestled into a hillside in a stunning location overlooking the valleys and sea to the west, you pretty much have a glorious unobstructed view of San Sebastian (a 20 minute car ride away) and the most amazing sunsets. We were warmly greeted by Anna, who during our stay took very good care of us. After checking into our room, we were delighted to find an amazing balcony (make sure to request a room facing west- the other rooms also have nice outdoor space but you will not get the sunset view from your room- although you can most certainly take advantage of the communal patio or poolside to do so). We were thrilled to be staying at a place that offered a daily, fresh and amazing menu for Lunch and Dinner- the offerings changing daily. We eagerly joined for lunch as soon as we arrived and where not only pleasantly surprised by the quality, the attention to detail and service but also by the very affordable set menu- 3 courses, bottle of wine, coffee and water for 22 Euros. Completely delightful. Breakfast the next day was also an absolute pleasure and continued to be for the next four days as the chef himself, Xabi serves each guest a personal bento box of sorts containing his homemade creations, an ample and bountiful spread of local delights. Later we come to find that Anna and Xabi are siblings and their whole family worked together to create this location, and all subsequently work together to maintain and run the establishment. This only added to the charm and our wonder of this magical place full of love and attention to detail. The pool, though not heated is spectacular and is positioned perfectly for enjoying some Txakoli over an amazing sunset. Another highlight, and located under the pool is an exquisite private spa guest can book for anytime.
Cons: We completely DID NOT like the fact that we had to go home. Total let down... boooo!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location and food
Cons: ..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting is incredible and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The spa is also excellent.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: It’s quiet here. They allow you to take bicycles for the day and night so if you want to go to dinner, you just bike to town. The rooms are super nice! So clean!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All major services and room facilities can be clearly rated as 5 stars
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The attention to detail, the immediate action upon request
Cons: The breakfast was standard, but the service was forgetful, waiting for your order that never came, had to reorder more than twice. I was assured that the management would improve based on my departure note
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were very kind. The room was old but clean.
Cons: The price
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, great breakfast, great shower. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, we took their bicycles with out any extra charge And using them made the way to old city much faster.
Cons: A bit far from the center, 20 minutes walk . We took their bicycles, but it was a bit difficult when it was raining.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolute everything, the location away from the crazy busy beachfront and within walking distance. Our room was very comfortable, and clean, nice products in the bathroom. The staff were absolutely outstanding, extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast as well.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A gem of a hotel. Lovely grounds. Free parking. Exceeded expectations.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at Villa Soro for 4 nights. The main building is elegant with a very warm atmosphere. I had a corner room on the first floor of the newer building which had it owns semi-private outdoor space. Both were nice. The bedroom and bathroom were of good size and quite utilitarian. The newer house has no street noise, though the area is sufficiently quiet that I would be surprised if the original house is affected by traffic noise. The staff is very polite and helpful. I chose to stay at the Villa as I thought I might find interesting people with whom to talk. Breakfast seemed like an obvious time but the bar is actually pretty lively at night. My wish was fulfilled. Members of The Morgan Motor Club were there with their glorious convertibles (British racing green, of course) and there were 2 architects from Stockholm on their way to Bilbao.
Cons: My bathroom was not adequately cleaned. I suppose this was due to the maid believing that Americans only take showers. However, there were enough clues that I take baths. The tub wasn't cleaned (or not to my standards) and neither q-tips nor hand soap were replaced in a timely matter.. I found there was too much noise transmitted from the room or rooms above which may have been just the luck of the draw in whose overhead. Note that this really is a residential area and you will have a good 30 minute walk to the bus station or even most restaurants.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Superb place to stay and great location

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Eveything about the property is just perfect. Is only minutes from San Sebastian and France, good for adults or kids. I had to leave from an airbnb that is was a mess at San Sebastian and found this hotel at 11:00pm, this was like a gift from God. Everything from staff to hotel, breakfast (just incredible breakfast) to location is desired. Not sure why is a 3star hotel, should be way more. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, nothing wrong about it. Ah, a free parking
Cons: Nothing. We loved everything

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, once you find the entrance. Garage parking was a real plus. Comfortable, clean and surprisingly quiet. The staff were great.
Cons: In common with other reviews, we were disappointed with the breakfast croissants, they were so stale that they were impossible to pull apart. If you can’t serve fresh produce then don’t bother. The bread selection was very good and the freshly squeezed orange juice was excellent, croissants weren’t necessary.

Hotel Akelarre - San Sebastian - Bedroom
10
9.2 Excellent (538 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Akelarre in San Sebastian, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Concha Beach and Monte Urgull. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The view is amazing, staff, rooms and food all great.
Cons: The concierge weren't great at organising help around other restaurants. Do your own research and book other restaurants in advance, especially at the weekend
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is like a piece of art in itself. Every detail is attended to. The service is excellent, rooms are huge and very comfortable. The bed is one of the best I have slept in.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, serene, best breakfast in the world
Cons: No outdoor pool/lounge chairs
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is famous for its cuisine but it was the total experience that made it so appealing. The coastal location, the art,the architecture, the spa and massage and of course the food and wine.
Cons: It’s a little further from San Sebastián than we’d expected. Along a narrow windy road.
7.0 Good
Pros: The decoration and the architecture of the hotel.
Cons: The staff don’t seem to have any training or experience in how to provide a good or a luxury service. Doesn’t match with the price. It was raining the whole time and no one told me that there is a covered parking. Also I asked in one of the restaurants to make a small soup for my 7 months baby and this was extremely difficult and costed 15€! In the next day they tried to charge me the 15€ again for the same warmed soup, saying that they added 1 spoon more, of the same baby soup that they had already charged me the day before...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location, the rooms, excellent service, love the cocktail cabin!
Cons: Food in 2nd restaurant & snacks overpriced based on portions/presentation. Lack of umbrellas in public areas available all day for hotel guests. We did not rate Akelarre restaurant with 3 stars compared to others we have eaten in. Service although efficient was very mechanical lacked the ambiance & friendly staff. Although the food was technically outstanding it lacked subtlety and range of ingredients. The hotel runs around the food experience rather than the hotel experience
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel staff were lovely from the second we arrived. Its a great quiet location and very relaxing. Although I believe the hotel was fairly well booked its the sort of place you feel there is only a few people about.
Cons: I hate to say it but our main restaurant experience was very disappointing. It may be 3 Michelin star food but its not 3 star customer service in my view. The restaurant has a great view unless you are seated with your back to it on a table for 2. That's a school boy error! Also our table was so close to a "waiters station" we could touch it. When he was there he virtually brushed past us. then he gave us a demonstration of how to clean cutlery and throw them into the drawer creating as much noise as possible! When they showed us to our table I politely complained about its position and asked to sit next to my wife rather than opposite. That was a no! following the cutlery demonstration I WAS NOT SITTING HERE ANY LONGER. I went to find the manager who offered us a table for 8 made up for 2. We took it to make the best of our Anniversary meal. I ordered a bottle of wine to relax the situation. We then ordered our set menu. We were disappointed there was no mention of wine pairing. The food was fantastic. Just as you thought you couldn't eat another thing something arrived and it was so easy to eat it! As we progressed through our courses we realised other people had different wine with the course. I asked where that was on the menu as I couldn't believe I had missed it. I was told it was on the wine list? It was a bit late but the Sommelier saved the day with some excellent desert wine. The manager never came to see us. No apology, Nothing for a hotel guest celebrating their Wedding Anniversary that had booked 6 months in advance. The second night we went into the "lower" restaurant. BRILLIANT! Lovely meal, lovely staff, lovely evening! Beware the 3 star restaurant where it seems the food is more important than the people eating and paying for it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: View from the rooms and the terrace is exceptional. A better place for a sunset drink or breakfast (or anytime of day!) would be very hard to find. Staff absolutely superb. Only had breakfast in the hotel but couldn't fault it. A fabulous hotel.
Cons: Very minor but neither the sauna and steam room were anywhere near hot enough. One or two more shades needed as the terrace is popular late afternoon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An extremely thoughtful renovation, meaning we were never disturbed or inconvenienced by things which plague even the best hotels (noise from rooms/guests, lack of sockets, retrieving the car, unreliable WiFi, etc.). Staff were excellent and everything was just so!
Cons: In room dining is unimaginative compared to the quality of the other restaurants at the property.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. Quaint location at the foot of a mountain. Interesting local basque restaurant within short walking distance, serving local food with all mixes of cider made on site!
Cons: Some guests were very noisy, coming back from festivities in San Sebastian on an early Sunday morning. Surprising to see that people a good price for a hotel room have so little respect for the other guests at 3-4 AM.. so sad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was super nice. Clean room and facilities. Amazing location in the country side but still 13 mintues by car to the center of san sebastian. We would recommend to add a small fridge to the room as it is also a location for relexation with family so you need to store some fruits and beverage. The tour in the Sagardore was very nice and interesting although it was of season. Mainly for travelers with a car. Walking around the hotel is also nice, bring your shoes.
Cons: I would suggest to add a small fridge to the room. There is enough space.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Big comfortable bed, the hotel looks new, the room is spacious. It's in a quiet area, but still very convenient - just 15 mins drive to San Sebastian old town. Their breakfast is a bit expensive but delicious.
Cons: We booked the room with terrance, and the one of the chairs was broken - I fell off the chair! The staff said they just repaired the same chair a month ago, so make sure that you check the chair before sitting down! Or maybe save some money and book the room without a terrace.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lidl, our host, was the most beautiful smiley helpful person imaginable. And her hotel was all a reflector of her!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The early check in was much appreciated. All the staff were lovely. We really enjoyed the room looking out to the Forrest and the swimming pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: High quality hotel, with beautiful swimming pool. Very friendly staff. Very good breakfast and diner possibilities. Modern design rooms. Good beds, very good bathrooms. No noise from other rooms.
Cons: Standard rooms could be a bit more spacious, but this is a minor point.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything is well cared for. Great attention to detail. The staff are attentive without being intrusive. The beds are comfortable. Good storage space for a long weekend. Rain showers. Rooftop pool. Forest walks. All lovely. Buffet breakfast is worth the splurge and dinner in Misuro is great value for the quality. Location is 20 minutes on bus from town may bother some but worked for us.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The decor, the beds, the pool, the staff
Cons: Distance from town, we were able to catch bus from outside hotel but later in eve the frequency is less and on our last night they moved the bus stop! That meant we had to get a taxi home instead as couldn’t find new place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful modern decor with all the mod cons. Surrounded by parkland. Friendly staff with good service. Close to bus stop so easy to get to town. Sustainable practices a first. Delicious fresh and homemade food items at breakfast. Best hotel I’ve stayed at in Europe so far!
Cons: No iron supplied.
6.3 Good
Pros: The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom fabulous.
Cons: The breakfast was very expensive for what was on offer. The bar area was in the restaurant(very noisy) on high stools, there was nowhere to sit and have a quiet drink and possibly read a book.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ideal hub to explore San Sebastian and surroundings. Parking available, and you can take the bus into town very conveniently. Modern design, very clean, everything looks brand new. Excellent breakfast, lots of healthy options. Kids loved the science museum that is just behind the hotel (just take the walking bridge)
Cons: The restaurant was pretty good, but would be nice to have a few dishes that are more kid-friendly. Swimming pool area was pretty crowded when we arrived
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Top hotel, excellent service, superb rooms!
Cons: Food at the swimming pool rather limited and pricy

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really great hotel enjoyed all aspects. Quiet and relaxing. Breakfast one of the best yet on our trip. Definitely recommend staying here
Cons: Bath a little slippery when showering.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: very friendly staff
Cons: A mirror in bedroom that did not steam up Full coffee pots Uncooked fish stopped restaurant being excellent
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed a free welcome drink and the breakfast was really good.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It is a very nice hotel. The basic room is pretty small for a 4 star hotel. It would be nice to have a luggage rack. The last night we stayed in the junior suite and it was excellent. I would choose it next time. The breakfast was very good especially the fresh orange juice squeezer. Dinner was good. I love the location. Quiet, good area, good scenery especially from the rooftop. Easy access to downtown and the reception was great about providing information. One night we stayed was Saturday and a wedding took all the parking. We realize that any hotel with facilities will be having a wedding in the summer Saturday and ran in to the same problem at other hotels.
Cons: see above
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the great size of the room and the bed has been huge and comfortable! As we were travelling for several weeks it came as a good surprise that we could store the content of our big suitcases! The hotel is very tastefully decorated, staff super friendly, breakfast perfect! Within a few minutes walking we were in the center of Hondarrabia where we could indulge in great tapas. We liked it all and cannot complain a bit!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location, easy access to the old town, clean rooms, nice garden and terrace Free parking in the garage
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, within walking distance of the historic center of Hondarrabia, which is a cute well preserved fishing town directly across Hendaye on the French side of the river. People are very nice and the food choice is great and excellent!
Cons: Nothing negative to report, except that on a Sunday night the hotel restaurant had limited service. It gave us the opportunity to discover the old town, which is worth more time than we were able to spend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The only hotel in 2 weeks that sweeps under the bed..... Sorry asthmatics notice these things. Staff absolutely brilliant. Help with our day trip to San Sebastian plus best tapas bars to visit but frankly you will find that all are good
Cons: That the dark chocolate ice-cream was soooooo good. I need more steps
10.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet. Good wifi.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, great atmosphere and good food in attached restaurant. Would really recommend if you like cider - help yourself straight from the barrel. Comfortable beds. Quiet location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, very friendly staff, a really great place, you have to eat there too and try the wines, I don’t want to spoil the surprise by saying more
Cons: There was nothing to not like
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds, blackout curtains, and relatively, quiet. The sea view room was nice.
Cons: Location is somewhat isolated. You need wheels. Odd bathroom design. Sink obstructs the toilet. It's difficult to navigate in the dark. I prefer shower stalls to bathtubs. You need to drop off suitcases by the side of a busy road, prior to parking, otherwise you have to roll suitcases up a steep driveway or hauling up stairs.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast excellent, staff friendly, everything scrupulous. Beautiful environment
Cons: We filtered on restaurant but unfortunately the hotel restaurant was closed on Mondays, that was the second time recently. Maybe information about a closing day could be included on the site of a hotel. Also the car park is not easily accessible from the hotel entrance, could be a problem for disabled people travelling alone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: what a find, great place to lay over en-route from france into northern Spain, amazing hotel room and the bonus of the cider hall adjacent was fantastic. make sure you eat there, trust me you will never see another steak like it...ever.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food in the family-owned restaurant was excellent and inexpensive. We had the T-bone steak and drank lots of cider. The rooms were very clean and modern.

Pros: Location is not far from San Sebastián, you can take the bus A2 and you are there in 10 min. The bus leaves right in front from the hotel. Or you can park the car in San Sebastián, its around €8 for 5 hours in a parking lot. Hotel is very Nice, clean and modern. You can have breakfast downstairs next to the hotel. I would stay there again!

Pros: Great location.Good parking.bus stop outside, takes you to centre of Donostia.very good service. Nice staff, very helpful.
Cons: N/A
7.5 Good
Pros: Built 2017. New hotel. Still clean. Like an Ibis Budget but a bit larger . Think very basic but good manners by reception staff. Street parking outside hotel is close an d safe.
Cons: Very basic amenities. Did not resupply toiletries. Nor wash the 2 glasses supplied. Very oddly situated hotel. Google takes drivers through the Industrial area.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Extremly clean (and new) inside, thus industrial building (I have no problems with that). Surroundings were fine (new living blocks). Friendly staff in hotel and restaurang. A Smart Choice!
Cons: Fitted us perfect
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the pension is very welcoming, always ready to help. A bottle of sider expects guests in their room. Once inside the hotel is very clean and tidy, and the rooms are quite spacious and sunny.
Cons: The hotel is in the outskirts of San Sebastian : it is only a 5 minutes ride to the city centre. However, the location of the pension per se is not very pleasant. It is almost bizarre to be amongst workshops...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed. Quiet. Spacious. Good shower. Friendly and helpful check in (David). Easy check out.
Cons: Trouble finding hotel. GPS confusing. A couple of direction signs would make all the difference. Would tea/coffee making facilities. Only one towel and reception closed when we found out.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were brilliant -- helping with any questions regarding the area ---bus times etc. The room was very comfortable---bathroom excellent with plenty of clean soft towels --- room cleaning again excellent. The taverna next door-- brilliant ---good and plentiful food at a very reasonable cost.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, spacious and tastefully decorated room. We liked it a lot. There was a lot of privacy. It was nice to have breakfast in the small café downstairs. There is more than enough parking, unless you come during a local festival. The personnel was helpful and kind. You can get to San Sebastian in a few minutes.
Cons: The location, though close to the center of Astigarraga, is quite industrial and lacks charm. It is very safe even at night, anyway.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean. Simple. Good Value for.money
Cons: 10 kms to center.
6.3 Good
Pros: The rooms were clean and modern
Cons: The area was on the edge of an industrial area and it was difficult to park

Pros: Altough we arrived in a day which was the restaurant was closed, the staff helped us by preparing some snacks and a delicious wine for us. The backyard and frontyard was beautiful and exposed incredible views of the countryside. The room was outstanding and very comfy beds with a nice bathroom. Space was pretty enough in the room. It was very nice to sleep in the room while the window was open and it was raining outside. The smell of the nature was outstanding. The hotel is located on the hills with silence and easy to reach every place in Basque. A traveller with renting a car should visit this nice hotel. Free and easy parking.

Pros: Amazing location, but you need your own means of transport.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The views:)) Gorgeous green mountain just in front of us. Silent room and charming atmosphere.

Pros: The owners are very nice people
Cons: nada - es muy bien
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wery nice place to stay, located on the hills just behind San Sebastian. Beautiful house with clean and tidy rooms. The owners were very kind to us, and gave us information about what to visit and about restaurants in that zone. Breakfast was very good! We recommend it to everybody looking for tranquility and relax!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly lovely people and are so helpful with sorting out trips for visiting nearby places. It really helps it you speak a bit of Spanish though. Breakfast was 2 pieces of toast with butter and home-made jam, freshly squeezed juice, a plain yoghurt and a pre-packed cake which is perfectly adequate for the €4 charged. This property is up a mountain through windy roads but is well signposted. Bare in mind that neighbours have dogs, sheep, hens and a cockerel who all make noises.
Cons: The internet only works downstairs but they can't change this. The mattress was really firm.
4.5 Okay
Cons: the environment was of a place that try to save and for example , no shampoo at all , a little body gel , the toilet paper was in the end. The way was really not pleasant especially at night. the owner accept only cash and finally the beds were not convenient for us .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owner.great location.cosy and very clean room.we will definately come back.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We were welcomed by the hostes, who spook Spanish! The view from the room is magnificent and the bed very comfortable. The house is a bit cold but the stoves were put on, so that helped. From the house is a bus who drives to San Sebastiaan which is a nice city to visit.
Cons: Only cash payment, could not find this on booking.com. I didn't really liked that the bed was made on our second night, but that is I think a personal opinion.

He even upgraded us to a room with a balcony which I would recommend as its a lovely place to sit and chill. Would definitely book again. A great find with good secure parking. Swimming pool looked fantastic but unfortunately didn’t get chance to use it.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Louis is an interesting and welcoming host. The location was very good for train trips to San Sebastian, just a short walk to the station and 10 minutes to the city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicely tucked away for tranquility, but so handy for train or car to San Sebastian. Host Luis so helpful and friendly - what a wonderful host! Lovely welcome [including from 3 nosey hens!] Constructive suggestion, Luis, a lamp on the bedside table....
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We slept really well and the staff was very, very friendly. The town is small but with quite some bars and restaurants to get breakfast and a good meal. Outside the hotel there was an area with little goats that the kids liked really well. The train station is pretty close and the train gets you in 15 minutes to San Sebastian. The highway is close as well so you can get easily on the road to visit other cities and towns.
Cons: The shower took some time to produce hot water and at night the central heating system was working perhaps too well. But those are just a few minor glitches of what was a really nice stay. It was not even an inconvenience.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean friendly staff Room had tv and fridge
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Facilities, beds, bathroom, location plus the communication with Luis which was second to none. My enquiries and questions were answered speedily and honestly!
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like, it was all excellent

Cons: Wonderful !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in the very heart of the embankment, just hundred meters from old town. The view from rooms with sea view is stunning. The stuff was friendly and agreed to upgrade the room because of municipal construction works noise at another side of the building.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was fantastic, very close to old town and great view of the ocean.
Cons: There was construction next door and in front of the hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent and the bed was massive. The breakfast was good although the dining room does get busy.
Cons: We had paid for a room with a balcony but due to construction work going on outside we were not able to use it. I appreciate that it wasn’t work being carried out by the hotel but they must have been made aware it was happening well in advance (it was the construction of a new subway so not insignificant). Not only was it not mentioned when we checked in but we were not even given the chance to upgrade. Not only that I had received an email from them a few days earlier asking if I needed anything and had replied asking them about an upgrade to a sea view and they had not even bothered to respond. For a little over 1000 euros for 3 days I expected better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view over the bay from the balcony windows. The room was of a generous size and the 5th floor was quiet.. The staff were also very helpful.
Cons: There wasn't anything we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfort, location, staff
Cons: Price of parking and breakfast
