Rooms extremely clean & large, staff very welcoming & friendly. Excellent Receptionist "Mary" went out of her way on checking in and departure. Extremely friendly & Warm We parked our car in the secured car park, by the back wall of the hotel. On departure we noticed foot prints on the boot of the car!!!! Someone obviously jumped the wall & jumped onto our car 07 "BMW" so that was disappointing after our lovely stay put a bit of a dampner on it!!!!
Recently modernised rooms. Hotel restaurant was very good. Next time will ask for a room which doesn't over look the main street. We had a room overlooking the main street - very noisy especially when the nightclub was closing. The room was lovely but definitely in need of triple glazing!
Friendly staff, good breakfast although the breakfast room was a bit on the small size. I didnt like the entrance to the hotel from the car park.It was not very attractive and we had to pass through the smoking area.
Good sized comfortable bed, good food and friendly staff. Also live music inthe bar on Sunday night was enjoyable but bedroom was quiet. Terrible gate release system from car park into the hotel meant we were standing in pouring rain for about 15 minutes - they would be better with a wee man to do security.
services / facilities cleanliness of your room comfort value for money comfort
it was very nice and cosy
The staff were exellent, particulary the receptionist who was very helpful. The room was perfect. Very comfortable and clean. I would reccomend it to someone definitly. Very romantic also. I thought the prices of room service were very expensive.
Excellent Irish staff ,lovely food and good entertainment. No shelves in bathroom (room 3) all toiletries had to be left on floor but what a beautiful bathroom otherwise.!
staff were very friendly. food and service was excellent. rooms were quiet and spacious.
the location in the centre of Oldcastle, close to good pubs, beautiful countgryside, interesting historical sites and proximity to Dublin city, less than one hours drive on exvellent roads. the rooms were large, well furnished and comfortable, with the excellent bathroom. staff were hellpful and friendly. we could not find a fault. the breakfast was cooked to order, the coffee excellent and overall wonderful value. Highly recommended.
This was without the worst experience I've had in 20 years of staying in hotels. I want to premise this review by saying that the staff were very helpful and courteous. Their talents would be suited to a better establishment. 1. This is a pub with b&b, not a hotel. 2. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment. I rang upon booking to make sure that noise wouldn't be an issue. I was told that the apartment was at the back of premises and shouldn't interfere with us. our apartment and b&b rooms were situated directly off a courtyard at the back of the pub. this was also their smoking room. Consequently we had 30 people directly outside our door 'til 2am. My 3 kids were terrified with the offensive language and people falling against the (glass) door. When the area was eventually cleared, we had the noise of the staff cleaning up until 3am. 3. Our apartment was damp where the heating obviously hadnt been on in months. 4. No hot water in the apartment, had to ask and then the staff put on the heating. This still didnt give us hot water. The ad on Booking.com is misleading. Avoid this dump at all costs!
