Hotel in excellent location and very good value for money.
Elegant hotel which appears to have undergone some upgrading recently. Great location and easy to find. Staff delightful. n/a
beautifully renovated hotel with a high quality look .... given the price and thecentral location right at the main canal (yet quiet) ... this hotel had to be the best value on my trip. The staff was friendly and most helpful. Breakfast was nice, and the hotel has several lovely lounge and sitting areas to make use of. Delightful. no
The Hotel is as central as you will get, surrounded by cafes, shopping, and also tradition. The first night of our stay was a national holiday, and there was a lot of celebrating well into the small hours of the morning. Although there is double glazing in the hotel, we were still able to hear the noise.
Wonderful location overlooking the canal, restaurants in easy walking distance and reasonably priced. Boat trip a 'must'. Helpful and informative staff. No parking and difficulty in finding any in surrounding streets. Situated on a busy roundabout so could be a problem unloading and loading car.
It is a charming hotel in a perfect location. The recent renovations were tastefully done, and my husband and I liked the accommodations very much. Parking is somewhat complicated since it has to be in the street.
Clean and comfy room, staff welcome with a smile, excellent views from the room. the parking facility as stated in website is for limited spaces, i think on first come first served basis. Also parking is some 200 meters away maybe problem with people with physical difficulties or travelling with small kids.
It was in a good central position The furniture and decor were rather outdated
It was quirky full of old and interesting ornaments antiques and family photos. The hardest bed I have ever slept in. Apparently orthopaedic. The lady who attended to us spoke no english.
The hotel was a very charming building, full of character and beautifully decorated, lovely setting and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
The breakfast is excellent! The guest house is very different from traditional hotels. The hotel fells more like an old house that your visiting, and you can feel the life that people lived there with photos and decoration .The hotel is very well situated just a few steps from buçaco, other gardins and near restaurants. we didn't like the fact that there is nobody from the staff at night. The light from the corridor reaches the rooms although dimmed.
Rather unique place and great location in an old spa town. Fantastic breakfast . Pretty noisy when there were a number of other travellers.
the decoration was impressive, as was the building and the rooms. It is a luxury villa left by the owners with their stuff inside. It's a piece of luxurious history. The caretaker was absent late for check-in and generally the hotel seemed abandoned.
The atmosphere and style is great. The room was very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Very quiet (only 3 rooms occupied). Overall, the best accommodation we had on our trip.
Very nice Guest House, typical with magnificent ancient decoration. Very clean and cosy. It is like a castle. My bedroom was big and the view over Luso was nice. Good breakfast for the price I paid. Because it is like an ancient castle, it hasn't elevator.
Charming old style house with lots of character. Lovely sorroundings with a swiming pool. Great abundant breakfast. Highly recomended if you want a few days away from city noise. I would only recommend placing some shower curtains in the bathrooms.
met good people certain charm authentically furnished for some reson great numbrer of older lovely folks came to spend time at the pool etc though they had nothing to do with hotel. part of the reason to stay there is fewer customers not more.look for better options
Great breakfast, beautiful house and decoration (if you like antics) Room was a bit outdated, no service all time around
Silence around, near center, good breakfast. Bath towel with a stain, some hair and some beach sand in the room.
Room was large, clean and comfortable.
The staff was excellent. Minor electric malfunctions. Could no turnTV on by remote control.
friendly, good value for money no wifi available in the room
Nice breakfast Fast internet in some rooms
The Reception staff were very helpful, the hotel was warm and the room very clean. The breakfast was a disappointment and the staff seemed slightly annoyed if you arrived for breakfast after 9.00 and anyone arriving after 9.30 were faced with little choice. It was a shame that the fruit bowl was so unappetising, the coffee only warm and the orange juice what we would term as orange squash.
Good value hotel in walking distance of centre.
easy acess to town Aveiro and space to park your car . nope the hotel it is perfect!!!
The room was very clean and comfortable. Also the bathroom was very clean, Breakfast was excellent.
A very nice big and clean room with air conditionning. Fantastic continental breakfast. Good price. Would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Aveiro. You have to pay for using wireless internet but i couldnt even use it on my laptop. However they let me use their computer.
Cleanliness, kindness of staff and hotel location. Due to the huge amount of guests, the breakfast service wasn't the best.
The informal atmosphere, friendly staff and location of the hotel made it an excellent centre for our stay
Nice for family. Good outside and indoor swimming pools. Friendly staff. The staff was friendly, but we had the feeling that there is a shortage of staff, namely at the restaurant and bar. The children's room was not too clean.
Booking.com claim this hotel is about 12 miles from Coimbra. This is simply not the case its about 22 miles away by car. Really poorly located. Rip off prices
It is a charming hotel with an olympic swiming pool with plenty of entertainment for kids but also for adults. The charm of the past may be seen as old fashion for some people. I thought a bottle of water was offered each day, but only the first one is offered.
Children playroom Swiminmg pools Breakfast
Hotel cleanliness and food was very good. Very nice employees. The floor propagates too much noise and in the silence of the night that's very noticeable.
confortable beds, quite, nice surroundings door lock did not seem to be secure
It was a big hotel, the rooms were spaceous and clean. The swimming pool outside didn't have any water in it.
very nice staff no indications to reach the hotel
I don´t like this hotel I don´t like this hotel
Pleasant family run establishment with some speaking good English.Nice pool area. Had English TV channels.. The Tuesday night l was there the restaurant was shut and there was nowhere within walking distance.Had to have pizza delivered.
most things: good facilities, good location, very friendly staff. Very noisy late at night due to catering facilities personnel activities from restaurant next to hotel
It was confortable for us because of air-conditioner was putting in.
This hotel was a great place to stay. The staff and owner were so kind and helpful. The room was comfortable. It overlooked the garden area. The garden area was comfortable and relaxing as well. I would stay here again and I would recommend this to others. The directions to drive to the hotel were not clear on the internet. We didn't have GPS so it was difficult to find it the first time. Once we knew where it was, it was easy to get to.
Friendliness of staff, quiet location, good value for money Poor directions, map and signage.
Good location away from the crowd of the city Aveiro. Very cosy and friendly staff. The pool was closed and the breakfast was very limited.
Absolutely charming setting.Excellent decoration throughout hotel. Staff helpful.Adjacent restaurant served very good food.
Easy informations on site and restaurants to visit around.
Nice breakfast with possibility to eat outside, clean comfortable rooms and friendly personal.
Everything had been provided in the room for comfort and warmth. The kitchenette was well equiped and with a supply of teas and coffees. The personnel were efficient and friendly and everything was really clean. Onlt that the picture of the brochure gives a slightly different view of the hotel than the one a visitor trying to find it expects.
Very clean, comfortable hotel within a short walk of central Aveiro. Well equipped. Kitchenette suitable for longer stays, though I didn't need it. Lift was out of order. Considering the room space wa pretty large, the shower was really cramped - useable, but not the place to swing a cat.
comfortable hotel near to the town cetntre
It is always a pleasure to stay at one of the Alboi hotels. The staff there are genuinely nice. And you're (almost) in the center of the city, only 5 minutes from University. Will definitely try to stay there next time I go to Aveiro.
Excellent location in a wonderful location.Rooms spacious, clean and modern. Excellent breakfast. Pleasant outdoor smoking area.
the room was very well appointed and comfortable-stay were very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous we enjoyed everthing about our stay
friendly staff, good service, it is value for money
only location two persons, but two price of hotel, very bad, because customs organization is the same.
Friendly, helpful staff
Right in the centre of the town, easy walking to restaurants The parking garage was a little difficult to find
The room in general
The only nice thing about this hotel was the view from the bar on the top floor.
Nice staff. Nice hotel. Nice decoration. Good cleanliness of room. Very confortable. Free Wifi connection. Free parking for car. Great location. Breakfast could be a little better.
I liked the welcoming athmosphere, the beautiful old part of the hotel with the restaurant; the excellent breakfast; the comfort of the rooms; the location, close to the station and the centre of town. The view from the room (109) is not so nice; and it is a pity that there were no chairs on the private terrace.
Breakfast, cleanliness, garage, in spite of a little complicated by the space to drive.
Good location, quiet, good buffet breakfast.
Very polite check-in service. Very polite staff in general. Breakfast was not impressive however.. Kind regards Frank See above
Classy reception area and beautiful breakfast room. Easy to find. Free private parking a bonus. Staff not very welcoming. 1km walk from city centre, but felt safe.
Complimentary champagne given to celebrate anniversary as part of excellent service by helpful staff
Very comfortable hotel, well located for the town. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
very clean, great breakfast selection, helpful attentive staff, child freindly.
The hotel is fabulous and has a lot of potential but the inexperienced staff (or poorly trained) who do not pay attention to small details do not allow it to reach its full potential. The young lady on reception had NO customer service skills nor did the maitre D in the restaraunt. The food was good almost gourmet but the presentation, lack of vegetables and service down graded it. The champagne we ordered arrived in our room at 11.30
location, historical building with renovated rooms Breakfast should definitely start at least at 7 in the morning. Having to wait on the door for breakfast until 8 is not ideal
Nice hotel, recently refurbished, now with modern room amenities but having maintained the historical spirit of the public spaces It was empty ... no athmosphere. Probably only a few (less than 10, I would think) rooms occupied.
I loved the food, it was excellent . The wine also was very good i didn't like the service and the pool closed
Imposing hotel which has kept many of its early 20C features but provides modern standards of comfort in rooms and spa. Hotel is obviously dependent on business conferences at this time of year (autumn). Pity the lido is no longer in use - perhaps seasonal?
Its a nice and quiet hotel for a weekend retreat.
Beautiful palace, confortable rooms, good breakfast, very frienly personel
The setting is extremely good and the project to refurbish the hotel has been a great success.
Fabulous place-a dream would love to return
It's a very beautiful building, with lots of old details still visible. Dinner was a 5* experience, my compliments to the waiters and chef. The indoor swimming pool and spa facilities were very nice as the outdoor one was already closed when we stayed there. The wooden floors made it noisy; you could hear the upstairs neighbour walk around and you would hear people passing by in the hallway. The indoor spa facilities could be improved by providing things like scrub salt and turning on all the facilities (sauna) during opening hours. Dinner wasn't only a 5* experience in service, but unfortunately also in price, compared to regular portuguese restaurants.
near city center
We had breakfast out the second morning, as hotel breakfast very poor.
Nothing Building work at the school across from the hotel, a generator was running 24 hours a day - very noisy! The room was cold and the air-con unit took hours to remove the chill. The hot water machine at breakfast was broken too! The TV kept turning itself off and the picture was terrible.
Very pleasant, helpful and friendly staff. Good size room and bathroom. Good standard of comfort in public areas. Very interesting and informative tiling in corridor to breakfast room. Breakfast room was shared with sister hotel, Jardim Afonso v, which led to overcrowding at busy times, with no tables vacant after collecting buffet. A busy road nearby was noisy at night and there was no internal access to the garage from the hotel.
Fantastic hotel and very cheap nothing
good hotel with all facilities you may need, internet, little ''business'' centre, good beds, 10 minutes walk from the centre of town.good value for money
A safe, middle of the road hotel just 10 minutes by taxi to the centre of Averio. Free street parking or a small charge for hotel parking. Buffet breakfast and hotel restaurant (closed Sun eve and Mon). Safe were very pleasant and spoke reasonable English. Will call taxi and make reservations for restaurants in town. Just a little bit tired looking - but good value for money and easy access overwrite this.
Close enough to city center (10 minutes walk), free parking place in front of hotel, very comfortable, clean and quiet Nothing special, everithing was good
The hotel is very clean and big enough for 3 beds. We could stay comfortable enough without bumping into each other. All staff is polity, nice and helpful. The hotel is very quiet and it is easy to park very close to the hotel without having to pay an extra fee.
location and decor nowwhere to get a coffee only a bar which did not open until 6.30
Historic hotel in a spectacular natural setting with walking trails and gardens. The restaurant is excellent. Better signage on the walking trails and providing a better map of the surrounding parkland to guests would be helpful.
Very nice location We arrived at 9.30 pm, we said to receptionist that we would like to have the dinner in 30 minutes, we check in in the room and after 30 minutes come back to restaurant but...it was closed. Why didn't you say that the restaurant were closed in 30 minutes?
Nothing Does not smell good, furniture not changed since years, not well maintained hotel, absolutely not reached 5 stars standard
We loved it all but very expensive. Weknew that going in.
The peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings
Excellent setting, beautiful building & gardens Rooms should be modernized
Fantastic situation and beautiful building. Where were the staff?
The hotel is set in a great location and IT IS A PALACE. Also the restaurants provide excellent food at a reasonable price that I would travel for. The room itself was not anywhere near 5 star quality and was dissapointing. Old, tired, spacious, yes, but luxurious it was not.
the atmosphere, historic building, the surrounding, the place the palace If we take into consideration the general European standard it doesn't meet the expectations of a 5 stars rather a 3 stars hotel If we compare to the Portugal standard it fits to a 4 stars hotel
Size of the "apartment",quiet area. The breakfast is poor for a 4 star hotel, the heater of the bedroom is not that great.I needed some toothpaste and the hotel only had some that were already expired, that's not a 4 start service.
tranquility the children
The pool and facilities around it, the room was good and the buffet breakfast was good. The separate dining arrangements were well done and the service was first class.. I did not like the area of Praia beach, which was just like Blackpool only worse! I realize that this is not the fault of the hotel. The weather was not too good either.
Being a Aparthotel, it´s bad that in the Studio´s there is no microwaves, and there is nothing to wash and clean the dishes, for example. These are the negative points for me.
Very nice interior, swimming pool, garden. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. The hotel is situated in a nice and quiet holiday development just outside Praia de Mira. Excelent restaurant. No swimming pool for little childrens... Not walking distance to Praia de Mira and the sea.
The very nice interior design, and hotel staff
Nice modern hotel in Mira Villas 5-10 minutes drive from Praia de Mira. Mini-kitchen, balcony, nice modern room. Good breakfast. Good pool. Nice staff. Not walking distande to Praia de Mira and the sea.
very nice interior, swimming pool, garden. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. The hotel is situated in a nice and quiet holiday development just outside Praia de Mira. The bikes you can rent at the hotel are old and tired. We started for a long rind along the wonderfull cycling paths. But obviously those bikes (no gears) were not up for this challenge. To start they were very heavy and the had only one gear. They didn't even have lights. Our bike had a broken sadle and a flat tire. The price for these bikes was way to high: 3€/hr. (july 09). The hotel management should definetly invest in better bikes. The cycling opportunities in that area are amazing there.
Very comfortable and clean with excellent facilities and bathroom. Requests were undertaken with promptness and intent. Free internet in lobby was great. Location right next to train station, close to eating + shopping. Historic centre a 10 minute walk.
Comfortable room and excellent parking available. Limited information in room on locality and lack of tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Excellent location to visit Aveiro. Good hotel, total comfort, nice decor and beds very comfortable. Quiet location and good breakfast. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. Nice little terrace for a drink in the afternoon. We liked everything about this hotel.
A comfortable hotel with a large room in a quiet location. Staff helpful and recommended excellent restaurants in town. Location a bit out of town with a good 15 minute walk.
Had no meals at hotel so cannot comment-price did not include breakfast . Room/ bathroom was well equipped, quiet, very comfortable and clean.Mini frig was very useful. Bathroom door needing adjusting in order to fully close. No place to hang coats or clothes except in cupboards.
Nice rooms - close to railway station
Breakfast was good, except the orange juice. Improve the price-quality relation.
Excellent location, great staff, very helpfull. Rooms excellent quality
The food and spa The location
see my score... When I checked out I discovered that My booking.com contract was not in line with the price of the hotel. Nevertheless, without any trouble it was corrected by the lady at the reception desk.
modern, new, luxurious hotel a 10 minute stroll along the canal into the town. Rooms were very spacious & comfortable. Free internet access available in the Business Center which was very useful for guests. rooms were not well soundproofed so could hear conversations from guests in the next room
Spacious room; very well located very expansive breakfast; no internet included
Good presentation, everything clean, excelent breakfast whater not very warm in the 1st night
This new hotel is located on a new street and does not show up properly in Mapquest or Google maps. Not a complaint, just a warning. Call and get directions.
Nice location, 500 m from the wonderful city of Aveiro. Beautiful views from the restaurant. Free parking in front of the hotel. You cannot enter the swimming pool without paying for the SPA (there is a charge of 9.00€/day!!) Even if you stay one night, and you want to swim in the afternoon and again in the morning, they charge 2x the fee!! A very big disadvantage not worthy for this kind of hotel.
Very good location and very clean am comfortable room (with a good view, if it faces the lake). Overall, it is an extremely nice hotel with very good value-for-money. Front desk staff was not very helpful when I asked to change from a twin bedroom to a double bedroom. I had to stay in the twin room because, allegedly, there were no more double rooms available.
The staff was very friendly - the hotel was very nice The hotel was a little isolated
The hotel is quite calm, good for a stay for relax
Lot of space in room, wooden floor, heating, car parking
personnel street noise noticeable through door which could not close compeletely.
The localization of the hotel inside the beautifull Curia park. The outside pool in the middle of the trees. Bikes available for free. Lack of information about other facilities like the Spa.
The hotel was good for relaxing in a peaceful enviroment. Hotel was more for older people than young families.
The setting of the hotel was lovely and quiet. We were a little disappointed with the restaurant, it had a menu but only seemed to serve a choice of either a meat or fish dish.
Size of the room and bathroom. Cleanliness of the room and hotel. The variety of the breakfast was not great.
CAB Madeira basketball team was playing ADVagos at the Municipal Gym. We were there to support CAB and to see our grandson play in his first professional game. Hotel had computer, Wi Fi, for use. No charge. Needed directions to several places and the information provided was clear and thorough. Since we did not have a car, public transportation was arranged on time. The Manager was very pleasant as was all the staff. No
Friendly staff. The room was small but clean and the facilities moderized
Very Kind Staff
the rooms were clean and nice bathroom, good breakfast and very friendly staff!
staff very kind and helpful
the staff was very friendly and they explain us everything about activities, how to go to beachs, etc...
only hotel available in area to visit various places room was very small although it was descibed as executive
The staff has been very kind and the room very nice and clean. Also the breakfast was very very good. Nothing
Free wifi at lobby. The man of the night in reception, so nice guy. Breakfast was ok for us (specially big croissants and fruit of the season)Had one problem with the lights in the room and they solved it fast. There are many little small business (fruit, bar, veterinary, newspapers, bank) around -50mts- hotel zone. There is a LiDL at 1km distance. Near the LiDL there is a very nice restaurant, called o Gremio or something like that, seems expensive when you see it from outside but is like all food in portugal cheap, great quantity and quality!!. Anyways you have to go Aveiro where there is one of best pizza restaurant I have ever been, called Ma Arte or Pizza Arte, Arte Pizza something similar. Deliciuous There are old rooms and reformed new rooms. Quite a difference beside ones and others (fan vs climatisation system wtf!!). No wifi access in room. The hotel is in a transited bi directional street with not easy parking in front of to leave luggage/check etc. Anyways there is a parking 50 mts near and another one 75 mts.Seems you have to pay in the near one but the receipt machine was broken so we didnt pay nothing. Hotel have also like 2 places in a small closed parking.
The location is nice. The hotel facilities are nice. The breakfast could be better. There was a strange smell in the hotel corridor (not in the room).
The view from the room and from the terrace. The shower curtains, the bugs/leaves floating on the pool and the slow attendance at the hotel reception.
Spacious rooms. High ceilings. Nicely furnished. Balcony off bedroom. Breakfast included in price. Clean. Has potential for the summer. Do not recommend in cooler weather. Cold(May 6). No heat. Swimming pool not open. Paid for buffet supper on site rather than eat @ restaurant in town & found food somewhat expensive for the quality we had become accustomed to in Portugal. Good choice of food, but it was not warm. Salmon steak tasted overcooked and as if they had been sitting for awhile before being served. Fado musicians were a half beat off from each other.
Very nice staff, but spoke very little english. Picturesqu property with nice sized and well equiped rooms.
A very quiet place
