8.0 Excellent
Pros: The surroundings were good and we could get into Les Sables d'Olonne without difficulty. The owner was very helpful and allowed us the use of the swimming pool and pool area. Breakfast was adequate without being sumptuous.
Cons: The property and its grounds are quite shabby and need a lot of attention. Our spirits sank as we ascended the uncarpeted and gloomy stairs. Our room on the second floor was just brown. Walls, ceiling, furniture, bedding - all brown. It had a sea view, certainly, but the windows were very shallow. The first floor room (from what we could see) seemed to be much better in this regard. The lighting in the bedroom was quite inadequate - we couldn't read after dark without getting into bed.

Pros: The hotel is well situated on the seafront, the accomodation is homely, and the staff efficient and welcoming
Cons: lack of car parking
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff was particularly helpful and friendly, the main reason why I would definitely recommend this hotel and even go back to it myself. The position was fantastic because of the stunning view over the sea/beach and the proximity to aminities such as shops, restaurants, old city but added to that parking was free outside the hotel , only on that part of the long promenade! a bonus!
Cons: just the price of the room! despite the fact that the hotel has only the standard of a (good!) 3 star hotel, the price for our room only was way beyond our holiday budget. In fact we only booked it as it was fully booked everywhere else in the vincinity when we made our last minute booking! We would definitely welcome and use any special offers in the future

Pros: We really liked the hotel but I was surprised that we had to pay extra to use the general spa facilities. This meant that we did not use the spa which was a shame. I also though breakfast was included and was not advised it wasn’t on check in so we had breakfast then I paid after which I wasn’t aware
4.3 Okay
Pros: Just the location on the promenade across from the ocean - not much else!
Cons: Attitude of Manager Simon was disgusting (other Reception staff were polite but clearly placed in difficult position by seniors/owners). Stayed for 2 nights over New Year and checked on arrival we could have drinks at the hotel bar on New Year's Eve. Were told yes! Came back from our evening meal on NYE, tried to order drinks but were told (eventually) they would not serve us as we were not dining there!! Total disbelief!!! Their 'lounge' as they call it is actually just an area of tables around the pool (the water of which could have been warmer) and where we had had drinks no problem the night before once we returned to the hotel. Completely refused to serve us including the children despite our complaint & Manager wouldn't come out and speak to us. Had to go to our rooms with no drink at NY - really spoiled our trip which was meant to be a special birthday treat too. Simon did at last knock on our room door and tried to say there had been a misunderstanding - definitely not, that was an excuse as he still said it wasn't possible to serve us drinks downstairs! Totally unbelievable.... ruined our stay, and appalling customer service. Considering this was 4* it was never worth the money, rooms were quite small and no milk provided with the pathetic attempt at tea/coffee in the room. Don't waste your money here would be my advice - they promote themselves as being part of the "La Collection" of Chateaux & Hotels, but am guessing this is just something you pay to join as the standard of facilities and customer service really lets this place down. Hence we would certainly not recommend to others after our experience there. A real disappointment.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is perfect - 2 steps away from the beach
Cons: 1. They make me pay extra for the spa even though the room costs more than 200 Euro per night. I was surprise because I wouldn’t think this is what a decent hotel will do. 2. A few days before I stayed in the hotel, I saw in booking.com that the same room costs 40% less than what I would pay and I couldn’t cancel. That’s just not nice.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the SPA equipments are modern and and very welcome. Diner was tasty. Room with sea view and terrasse was really good and quiet
Cons: it is not cheap

Pros: Location was good right on sea front. Plenty of parking. 10 min walk to the Sandy beach.
Cons: Our room was up 2 narrow spiral staircases. Windows in room smallish and at low level. Had to sit on floor to see out. The receptionist didn't explain anything to us apart from where our room was. Nothing about the restuarant from recp. or in room so didn't bother.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting overlooking the sea. Room if a little small was clean and well presented
Cons: Staff in restaurant positively rude on arrival. Room could have done with a fridge and coffee making facities
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great views over the sea. Good breakfast. Good value for money.
Cons: Exterior could do with a coat of paint!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Sea views. Good size shower room with nice shower
Cons: Did not meet my expectations. The toilet smelt and there were stains on the toilet walls. Our room was not cleaned or towels changed and beds not made during stay, we complained about badly stained bath towel but no action was taken to replace it. Generally the hotel and outside areas were badly maintained and in need of decorating and cleaning, cigarette ends were everywhere.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for lovers of the sound of the waves. Clean basic accommodation with a good breakfast. The restaurant offered a decent plate de jour in the evening. Easy access to surrounding area. Good budget all rounder.
Cons: Don't expect a beach within walking distance of the hotel or another restaurant.
