Pros: Quite and clean
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place has lots of character. Nice seating area outside. Coffee and tea were provided. Kitchen has all one needs to prepare a meal. Good hot shower.
Cons: Chris told us at arrival the times for breakfast being served. That confused us, we thought breakfast would be included because of that. So we had breakfast there, but discovered we had to pay for it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room and kitchenette, DSTV, decent wifi, lovely patio and braai, very accomodating and interesting host. We had a great stopover, it would have been nice to spend some more time here.
Cons: Rather pricy, but I guess it isn't easy to run this type of accomodation in the middle of nowhere. I would come here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very attentive and friendly. I loved the room, kitchenette and bathroom with all its copper piping and rustic barn conversion feel. The setting was quiet and tranquil.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, great breakfast, nice room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Evening Shade is just wonderful: Cheerful and flexible staff, nice rooms in a totally relaxing ambience, lovely breakfast and exhibitions of minerals and photographs on top of that. Very close to all you might ever need in this cosy little town and always a recommendation for those of us who prefer individual simplicity, rather than uniform luxury.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness, the safety, the privacy , the pets , the facilities and comfort . All in all ... great place to say.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Central location and modern accommodation. Braai facilities and friendly owner and staff.

Erongo Wilderness Lodge - Omaruru - Building

9.1 Excellent (141 reviews)

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Erongo Wilderness Lodge is a gorgeous place set amongst the boulders. Some of the tents are more private than others so if this is important to you, do ask. The staff were very accommodating before arrival and whilst there. We had tent 6, which has an amazing sunset view, but this came at a price being the furthest from the facilities, but it was definitely worth it. The surrounding area is teaming with wildlife and dassies are everywhere. Unfortunately we were unable to take part in any guided walks, but we spoke to a guide one night and he was very knowledgeable. Our one night stay was not enough.
Cons: The only small thing was the food wasn't to my taste and despite informing the lodge in advance that I only ate chicken or fish, this wasn't remembered. It was however dealt satisfactorily with when mentioned.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When planning our trip of Namibia we were unsure whether we had enough time to fit in a stay at Erongo Wilderness and very nearly skipped it. Our only regret now is not allowing more time to spend an extra night or two here. In terms of accommodation it is probably the best place we stayed. The tents are lovely and spacious and so well designed with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the most spectacular scenery. The beds are comfortable and there’s a lovely outdoors bathroom. In terms of finding a tranquil camp in the middle of nature where you can properly unwind and let go, it does not get better than this. All of the staff were wonderful and made our stay even more special. Dion our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly and the sundowner and morning walks we did with him were a real highlight of our trip. If we ever come back to Namibia (which I very much hope we do) this would be the first place we’d look to rebook, but this time allowing more than just one night as it’s a perfect place to put your feet up and properly relax for a few days, whilst also fitting in a lovely walk here and there. Thanks to all at Erongo Wilderness... you all made this a perfect experience.
Cons: Nothing negative to say at all
9.5 Excellent
Pros: located in a breathtaking corner of the country, surrounded by impressive rock formations...we strongly recommend to join the guided walks in the evening (sunset walk) and in the morning... from time to time you can spot wildlife (antipopes, baboons, birds etc) ... very good food and a great choice of wines...staff is very helpful and attentive ...dinner on the terrace under the starry sky will always be remembered ...among the shades around the small pool you will “survive” the hottest hours of the day..the luxury “tents” are spacious, well equipped and super clean....the last 300 meters of the road to the lodge are a bit challenging but definitely doable (4x4 may help)... alternatively you can use the shuttle service ..due to very limited wifi reception you can disconnect yourself from the rest of the world and fully enjoy the here and now..we loved it
7.0 Good
Pros: The wonderful landscape and organised walks
Cons: Not enough to do for s 4 night stay - if there had been more walks or a bigger swimming pool .. I was pleased I had plenty of books to read.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: spectacular view, nice drive to painting cave, unique hotel surrounded by granite rocks
Cons: shower was not adequate for expensive rate
7.0 Good
Pros: Unique location
Cons: Mattresses need replacement - their lifespan is over (in tent 1). Couch on deck is broken. Compared to Erindi (Old Traders Lodge) where we stayed prior to this visit we paid more per night at Erongo Wilderness Lodge whilst getting less value.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is breathtaking, and the tents are very comfortable. The service was really good and the guided walks were great also. Highly recommended!
Cons: A/C in the tent would have been nice
8.8 Excellent
Cons: check-in and out is a little bit slow
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the tent and the location. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Marco made a point of remembering our names and every staff member was very attentive to our needs. The stay was five star on all levels.
Cons: Only one thing that I am really sorry to mention because I just loved the place: the bed was very hard
7.5 Good
Pros: everything was fine

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast pretty much standard, location great
Cons: All was excellent...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was extremely spacious, and, although quite simply furnished, perfectly comfortable, with all the amenities necessary for a pleasant stay. The dining room and communal areas are well laid out, and it and the rooms have a magnificent view over the surroundings. We enjoyed the activities on offer, especially the guided walks, and that we were free to roam the grounds by ourselves. The food was good. Best of all in our experience was the friendly and professional staff members- their warmth and willingness to assist us went way beyond the call of duty.

Cons: N/a
6.3 Good
Pros: the hosts were very accommodating
Cons: Everything was ok except the fact that there was no address for the establishment and we drove around for an hour trying to find someone that new where it was. We tried phoning but no answer. We nearly booked into another hotel but luckily found a police officer that gave us directions. Tea/coffee facilities in the rooms would be great for those that get up early so you dont have to walk around in the dark trying to make a cup of coffee.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Kind and very helpful staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are amazing. Delicious food, fabulous drive through property viewing wild life- herds of zebras bounding through the bush. Esther entertained us with some music around outside fire. Heavenly!
Cons: wifi poor but remote location and didn't really care!

Cons: Wildlife viewing is limited but that is no fault of the property. Though the landscapes are stunning

4.5 Okay
Pros: Quiet area, walking path, garden & pool was ok. We got dinner & breakfast after pre ordering it, close to erindi national park
Cons: The owners seemed to be a little grumpy and we didn't really feel the happy welcome spirit. Maybe we got there on a bad day. The pictures displayed in booking.com and elsewhere are showing the newly refurbished chalets. I guess we were really unlucky to get the crappiest 2 bedroom chalet in the worst condition of all. The bathroom is from another decade, one bedroom had no window. The toilet was really in bad condition and definitely needs a deep cleaning as well as the bathtub. We got more value for our money in other places. The pool area was OK, the pool ground needs Cleaning. Everything costs extra, drinks for the dinner we had pre ordered were extra of charge and also the ping pong / table tennis. There was NO Wi-Fi connection as advertised. I am happy we stayed one night only. Originally we had booked a 2 night stay but could stay one night. unfortunately we were not able to get a refund, which was barked at me at the check-in. Now on their website it says there is free cancelation / adjustment... The good thing was we could go for a walk and meet an ostrich and a few giraffes, this was nice. I feel we were deluded and payed too much of a price. All in all it was like the stay at a poorly managed youth summer camp.... Just that it was a really expensive one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Was very impressed and the rate is excellent. We experienced an electrical issue, which was resolved asap. Also, we arrived late but there was no issue what so ever.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good location on the way! Everythinh that you need is neatby.
Cons: Prefer single beds

Pros: Setting is very nice and the owner professional. As we arrived late he was not expecting us anymore and had sent his staff home... Nonetheless, he called some back and personally lit up the braai to prepare us an excellent meal. Apart from that he was very open and friendly, showed us he birds in the morning etc... When we forgot a mobile the next morning he did everything to get it back 200 km further through other guests. At that time we did not even know we forgot it.

Pros: The place is run by a very nice family. We got welcomed after parking the car, had a little welcome drink and then were shown the facilities. We had a two very relaxing nights. The Safari tour were just amazing, we booked a early morning tour and saw quite a few animals. As they dont feed the animals, its always a bit of luck what you get to see. We also did a "Sunset" tour and enjoyed a nice glass of whisky and saw the sky turn red then black, sitting at the pool and seeing the stars was also nice. The food was good, the cook really did a great job of combining local food which french style of cooking. A recommendation for couples is for sure the early morning tour with breakfast!

Pros: Excellent food and attention to detail overall.
