Cons: Added fees

LAX
PDX
Okay 4.0

Pros: It was cheap.

Cons: Pilot did not land the plane on the first try. Did not go on the intercom to explain himself either. Terrifying.

LAX
PDX
Okay 5.6

Pros: Not much.

Cons: I was highly annoyed at the fees for luggage. I could have flown for the same price with Delta, (which I will do the next time), without luggage fees for carryons. There was only one working bathroom in the entire plane, the tray tables were a joke, and there were not even free soft drinks. I will never fly with Spirit again.

LAX
PDX
Good 6.0

Pros: Cheap, nice crew.

Cons: Food and drinks for purchase only, no hot meals or sandwiches in menu, little leg room, charge for carry on if bag doesn't fit under seat.

LAX
PDX
Mediocre 2.0

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Difficult to contact a rep Difficult online check in and have to pay extra for in person check in Pay extra for standard seat assignment No carry on luggage unless you pay $55 Will NEVER fly them again

Pros: It was cheap?

Cons: Service was comical it was so bad. Turns out you have to pay for a carry on after you've been tricked into thinking you bought a deal ticket.

LAX
PDX
Mediocre 2.0

Pros: Nothing at all

Cons: We stayed in line for like 40 min to check in but all of a sadden agent say that the system shut down cuz we were late, so they basically left me at the airport with nothing... spirit is the worst experience ever...

LAX
PDX
Mediocre 2.0

Pros: Great speed getting the bags to the baggage claim area

Cons: I didn't like that once I paid for my boarding passes, Spirit nickeled and dimed me to death with fees! What does the initial pass pay for if you have to buy your seat, bags and pay for your boarding pass to be printed. Terrible experience I could have almost paid for an upgrade with all the dumb fees they charged me.

LAX
PDX
Mediocre 3.3

Pros: Flight ran smoothly

Cons: Baggage fees are a scam

LAX

Pros: 3 hour delay without any notice from the airline.

Pros: Nothing...I spent all day at LAX only to be sent back home.

Cons: The fact that the flight never took place. And every other aspect of the experience.

LAX
PDX
Mediocre 3.3

Pros: the only good thing is how fast everything happened - quick boarding and getting off

Cons: $55 for a carry on each way that defeats the cheap ticket price, no complimentary snack or beverage, mediocre attendants, staff never knew answers to the questions

LAX
PDX
Good 7.5

Pros: The individual employees, who I realize have nothing to do with Spirit's awful policies, were very nice and professional.

Cons: It's like the title: Spirit Air is like if ransomware started an airline. The kiosk tries to upsell you at every screen. If you need to check in with a human being, it's $10. A carry on bag costs $55. Legroom costs extra, water costs extra, talking to a human costs extra. I was surprised not to be charged for air once the door was closed. I brought my guitar because I was traveling for a gig and I ended up losing money overall because of the baggage fee. Every other airline will gate check a musical instrument for free. As a last insult, when I landed at LAX, I waited for my guitar to come down the baggage carousel for 2 hours. Finally after the carousel stopped and everyone else left, I went and found Spirit's hidden back office to find that they'd stashed it back there. An employee told me "well YUH, it's too big to fit on the baggage carousel, mmkay?" as if I were the dumbest, shittiest person alive for not realizing that Spirit - alone out of all the dozens of other flights I've taken to the same airport with the same gear - would decide my guitar was "too big for that carousel", and that I should've known that in that event, it would be stuffed in a back office somewhere. I normally take bad reviews with a grain of salt because people love to complain but I wish I'd listened before booking with Spirit. Never again.

LAX
PDX
Mediocre 3.0

Pros: This was my first time flying Spirit Airlines and there was nothing that stood out to me as being exceptional.

Cons: Didn't realize til checkin that I had to pay $40 each way to bring A carry-on. I paid extra for "security shortcut" which did not exist in the LAX airport. I showed my ticket to 3 different TSA agents who waved me on thru the same line as everyone else. Between the carry on and security shortcut I paid an extra $100 on top of my fare. I could have flown a major airline for the same overall cost. To make matters worse, I was seated next to a large woman who took up almost a third of my seat who was coughing the whole flight. She kept waving down the flight attendants for cups of ice and they seemed to ignore her more often than not. Ice is the only thing that's free. Even water costs $3. On the flight they bribe you with free miles to fill out a credit card application. I don't want to fly spirit again even if it's free, sorry!

LAX
PDX
Mediocre 2.0

Pros: The kayak app, and how quickly it updates. My flight was delayed and the estimated wait time for security was accurate to the minute.

Cons: Spirit airlines, are a joke, I don't know if they completely underpay their employees, as the pilot, stewards, and ticket handlers are plain rude. Worst airline I've ever flown.

Cons: Advertised the cheapest rate but by the time I went through the process of getting my boarding pass my bags cost more to fly than myself it's ridiculous. Hey charged $84 for one bag and they charged $76 for a carry-on round-trip even charge three dollars for just a soda he's guys are money hungry I'll never fly with spirit again
