None No one could speak English it was very difficult to organise anything with the staff.
when i arrived to my room, it was terrible smell in a bathroom and I asked about any other room. It was very difficult to explain to the member of staff what the problem, because nobody speak english there, but anyway i received other room. Nobody can not speak english.
Hotel Zapata is right next to Oropesa del Mar's excellent beach, Playa La Concha. It has free internet in the lobby, which is great as it's not that easily accessible elsewhere in the town. It has a nice swimming pool, again great as other nearby hotels don't always have pools, and this makes a nice alternative to the beach. We stayed in the height of summer, and the absence of air conditioning made the room stiflingly hot and humid. The lady at the front desk suggested we prop the door open and leave the balcony windows open, which we weren't willing to do as we had valuables, so we checked out after one night and moved to a nearby hotel with aircon. Otherwise the Hotel Zapata was great, this was our only issue, but it did mean a sleepless night in the summer heat, so it was with regret that we left.
Location in the resort was really good. Secure parking for the Harley's was a bonus. Very spartan rooms. No air conditioning. The beds and decor were very tired and worn. The buffet breakfast was very poor; stale toasted bread, pre-packed croissant and tasteless jam. Not what I would call a buffet!
All the staff were very friendly including a couple of 'real characters'. The air-conditioning wasn't working in our room but to be fair we didn't even mention it to the staff, I'm sure they would of rectifed it.
