the location, food, romantic taste, staff none
A lovely old chateau with characterful rooms and nice ensuite bathrooms. Nice breakfast including delicious home-made jams. The hotel is in a lovely old town and close to vinyards - one vinyard almost spills into the town from a high hiilside - and the town has an interesting old monastry which is a frequent venue for music events
The hotel has a special charme, especially with some interior design elements and a flavour of art and culture. Wonderful hosts and a warm and relaxed atmosphere. This hotel has the potential to become a juwel in the alsace region. Any requests were handled in an easygoing way. Thumbs up !
Good diner and good breadfast Hard to find (only accessible via highway in one direction!), very small rooms, slightly unconcerned personel. More like a motel with a restaurant.
The staff was very friendly. The whole atmostphere was friendly. A Minor point: it's a bit difficult to find. It's accessible only from Rt. 83, a 4 lane motor route. It's next to the Total Station.
Friendly staff.Excellent Restaurant. Rooms are expensive for the low standard. Service at the restaurant is far too slow.
We think the hotel is very well situated for touring the surrounding area. We also thought that it was very comfortable, the restaurant was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The staff was not friendly at all. There was no English spoken to help us with checking in or out. We were treated rudely when paying our bill at check out time. The lady was not nice when we tried to understand the french we didn't speak. We were treated like unwanted guests.
clean, warm, calm, swimming pool, quality of food, cheminee, parking, friendlyness
Excellent location, beautiful scenery, quiet, secluded, wonderful food, near the Alsace wine region. None
the location - the view from the window was lovely. decor - plastic flowers and old fashioned wall paper. shower had no shower curtain.
Very friendly and cosy property standard rooms are not very comfortable, upgraded rooms are quite nice - however the price is very fair even for standard rooms.
Excellent food, pleasant staff and good localtion close to ferry ports and tunnel
Very nice hotel, comfortable, very nice staff and good breakfast. Have eaten in the brasserie, very good food. Nothing
Quiet, clean (but even if clean dust lays on very fast), the breakfast is very copious
Loved that the 2 restaurants were very nice and close to the hotel Best restaurant was grossly understaffed on the friday night we ate there. one waiter for 8 tables so service was unbearably slow. Food was excellent. Hotel pool was empty our first night there (and the pool was the main reason we chose to stay there w children!) then the next day the water was too cold to swim. Frustrating.
Spa, swimming pool and sauna. Great location. Most of the staff is really nice only one or two people aren't very pleasant.
Cheap Plug in bathroom sink didn't work. Bad smell of corridors
The staff was very kind. The bathroom not to comfortable, and the washbasin is in the room.
leisure facilities the room
nearby restaurants : a cheap simple and an expensive one a mini-bar in the room would have been a nice additional luxury
We used the the Deybach Hotel for an overnight stay and found it very pleasant, clean and comfortable and just a short walk through the park into Munster. The owner was very helpful.
This is a thoroughly properly run hotel in an excellent location to tour Alsace. It is very easy to find and access. It says 2 stars but in many respects (particularly the room, which is of course the most important thing) I would rate it as worth 3 stars. Much better value than one of the well known hotel chains in this price range. You also get the feeling that the owners really do care about getting everything right and are genuinely friendly. As a Logis inspected place you experience the benefits of their 500 point checklist. This traditionally run hotel is very hard to fault. It does everything it says on the label.
The staff were most helpful and our room was very comfortable.Breakfast was excellent and good value. We only stayed one night but the hotel would make a good touring base
it was a dream to be there, fantastic in all, especially in staff and cleanless
We loved staying at Logis Deybach! The couple that runs the hotel is very friendly and helpfull. An excellent place to be!
The personal touch of a family-owned hotel makes the experience special. We liked being amidst international guests from a variety of places. We would have appreciated an English news station on TV, but that was not serious.
Quiet, clean, off the beaten path but easy to locate. Owner was personable, courteous.
Quiet location in the vineyards on the edge of a very picturesque wine village. No shower curtain in tub. Rooms are slightly small.
Stayed in very nice family suite with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom which suited us as a family with older children. Very comfortable. Breakfast a little expensive but very nice and plenty of food. Great to be able to walk 5 minutes to the village whilst a quiet place to stay.
Very nice staff, room, bathroom. Clean, quite a lot of space, very nice location and view over wine fields. Note: we only stayed for one night. No airco, but we only stayed for one night and even though it was hot outside, the rooms were quite cool.
Warm reception after a very long journey, travel kettle provided without problem, excellent room with small terrace, very clean and well furnished, good breakfast (bit expensive) available on terrace, lovely breakfast waitress, excellent restaurants nearby and beautiful old town. out-of-sight parking for motorbike. Very quiet at night. No bar or restaurant in hotel but enough close by.
Quiet place in the middle of vineyards, close to historical village with many good restaurants.
The host/clerk at the desk was very helpful answering questions and providing suggestions.. The man who met us at the breakfast site could not speak a word of English and bordered on being rude when we did not understand he wanted us to sit at a table with our romm number.
If you book a room in this hotel, do not eat in town, but stay in the hotel ! The chef prepares a great diner, menu or a la carte.
Staff excellent, attentive and helpful. Personified by Alain Rosenzuey.
The hotel was beautiful, the staff was friendly, the resturaunt was wonderful!
Room was large, bed comfortable. Excellent restaurant attached with good selection of wines. Good English spoken. Bathroom basic but perfectly adequate. Somewhat quaint, largely wooden interior design gave the room a slight 'Tyrolean' feel. Our room was above the kitchens and there was some general noise from equipment operating there, but fortunately not later in the evening though. Some families with children were a bit noisy in the morning. All in all we felt it was a touch expensive for what it was.
Great family room, good pool and excellent food Breakfast was expensive - we walked 5 mins into town and went to a local cafe / patisserie instead
Excellent staff in restaurant and lobby. Despite some staff had problems to speek English they were able to call colleagues that were fluent in English. I also like large room and sitting corner in the room + large bathroom+ extra towels for spa packed in a nice bag. The corners around the bath were full of black mildew ( I assume due to wet environment and insufficient cleaning). Information leaflets in the room were in French and English version was missing.
The welcome was very good, the hotel and room were very well appointed and the food was excellent
silence, location , the park with river near the hotel , good breakfast we take 2 rooms , 1 room was perfect and the other room the cleanroom put a wool blanket and at night it was cold outside and i asked a heavy blanket , i asked from the reception and they brought to me a one blanket without sheet cover on it ' the next day i asked from the reception to change the blanket and it didn't happended . only the last day the cleanroom brought the couple blanket after i asked from her personally.
Very clean and very cosy. Very quiet. The staff was very polite and helpful. Easy to find a parking place. Near the village center. Everything was fine. No problem at all.
The staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms are adequate for city or shopping trips. The situation is very good close to shops and restaurants.
near a trainstation and a lot of possebilitys to cycle and walking
The room for four was very clean with a nice sized bathroom. Also the family that ran the Inn was very friendly and helpful. Only one member of the family spoke English well, and very few of the tavern customers spoke much English, but everyone was very nice. The town of Munster was very pretty and quaint, so it was worth visiting the town, especially to see the many storks that reside on the roof tops! The Saturday open market in the town square was also great to see. There were many locals that came to the bar/restaurant, so it seemed a very popular place. There was no air conditioning, not even a fan to move the air in the room(we asked for one but they did not have any). This forced us to have to keep our street-side window open all night, and thus the street noise, weekend bar patrons and the summer heat made it difficult to sleep. It seemed odd to us that the heat was something that the hotel was not prepared to deal with. We are sure that a visit to this hotel is much more comfortable during the spring and fall, but we would not recommend a summer stay unless the owners can provide some relief from the heat. We thought that the 8 Euro per person continental breakfast was overpriced, so we ate elsewhere.
Menu card only i french.
The room was small, plain, and very basic. Clean, though. Great restaurant downstairs and parking was available. Good for a one night stop in a really picturesque town. The rooms was just too basic. The total lack of atmosphere in the room really detracted from the experience of visiting the town.
Very good hotel, run by a very helpful young couple, in a beautiful little village. The dinner and breakfast were also very good. We had no problems at all - only a positive experience
We loved being located right in the beautiful village of Eguisheim, within walking distance of the whole town, restaurants etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was simple but clean and all we expected. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant very popular in the evenings. We always found parking in the hotel car park or within 50m of the hotel. It would have been nice to have had coffee-making facilities in the room - maybe a fridge.
Breakfast, dinner and an excellent location for visiting the village on foot. -0-
location, location, location would have liked to have a mini bar
Very good location in town center private car park charming hotel and town
The room was very ncie and the building is really beautiful. Ther is also a private parking
Right in the middle of a very picturesque village town in the Alsace region of France. Centrally located and an easy walk around the village.. No complaints
The room was fantastic for a family, small kitchenette, nice view, very clean pool, games for the kids, very comfortable ambience. good deal for the dinner buffet. Very enjoyable stay in a nice town close to the wine route. We would have liked to stay longer. One of the beds in the room had a very bad spring, the other beds were either too soft or too hard. The kids didn't care. Need to ask the hotel before arrival if you will want to use the kitchenette so that they will provide utensils and plates. We had to wait one night before we could get the stuff.
Swimmingpool in the garden. Small kitchen in the rooms - at least we used the fridge. Breakfast in what looked like a 'school cantina' - noicy, not much to chose from at breakfast - too expensive. The bedrooms was like dorms with bunkbeds. Hard to find a good restaurant in the neighbourhood.
Good dinner menu for very good prices. practical apartment with kitchen we can use. Difficult to communicate if you do not know french - good there was one staff who can understand and talk english a bit. We expected to live in a hotel room and not in an apartment outside the hotel but it is ok.
They were pet friendly. They were also able to provide a baby cot and had high chairs in breakfast room. The bathroom in our room was appalling, there was a foul smell of mold. It was so bad we avoided using it and did not use the shower. We had booked the Studio room as it was supposed to have a kitchenette. There was a sink and microwave but no utensils, not even a glass or cup.
Not the big luxury, but small price was ok Needs a bit of refurbishing
The Grand Hotel benefits from a good situation amid a wonderful environment, but it needs some critical evaluation by its management: our room was not really tidy and the sheets were torn. Breakfast was not good: bread rolls were not daily fresh, only 1 choice of meat, only 1 choice of cheese (herb cheese) and the eggs were frozen. Not a good publicity for their restaurant, where we didn't have dinner because of that bad breakfast.
The hotel is a quiet place. Very good sxervicies. Excellent hotel staff. Cleanliness was questionable. I had the same towels an entire week!
Excellent Value, Friendly Staff, Good location
Excellent location and views. Outdoor pool very refreshing! Aircon in annex was a mobile unit and so a little noisy.
I think the hotel is located in the best area along the wine route. I wouldnt hesitate to stay in Ruffach again on my next journey to the alsace region. everything is very typical french. Dont expect anything to be new refurbished and when it is (as the spa) dont expect it to be european or american standard. After all - this is france!
Stayed on our way back from Switzerland - food superb, and room was slightly shabby chic, but clean and comfortable, good views from our room
location & pool
The premises are wonderful and staff is very attentive
the location, the view, the park, the silence, exterior swimming pool 1. breakfast very expensive, middle quality, bad service, no refill, staff was preparing the tables for supper with a lot of noise during the breakfast 2. The exterior of "Pavillon Nantilde" (backside) is not clean and a bit "slumlike", does not fit to the image of "chateau"
Beautiful chateau, great view and a genuine feel to it. Nice pool and sauna. Friendly reception staff and grand rooms. They even upgraded our room because of a late drop-out. The jacuzzi was not working.
Everything, top class.Enormous room, with a door leading straight on to the garden, enormous bed, well stocked mini bar, bathrobes.Excellent restaurant food was reasonably price cosidering the quality. The town(Rouffach) was shabby.
the heated pool sparsely furnished room and very dated decor, not what I would expect from a 4/5 star hotel
Nice and secluded location I booked a garden room and I got a backyard room. The hotel has a beautiful garden, but the rooms facing it are called charm rooms. I did not know and I was unhappy with the room I got.
we like the fact that you didn' have to go thur the hotel too get too your room. the employee's could not have been any more helpful.thanks no
walking in the beautiful garden
the food was excellent
Motivated staff, location and tranquility, very good food, excellent breakfast. Only small details. Shower loose from wall. No soap. But it is a super address we would recommend!
Hotel staffs are pretty kind. Dinner at Hotel restaurant were expensive even there was not so much choice and no Alsace's traditional foods were available.
the rooms and garden are very nicely done there was no wifi nor mobile telephone coverage
quite nice hotel
Friendly staff, good restaurant The post in their website - biking, but you cannot rent a bike close by. We had to drive 30 km to the next town to rent bikes. I wonder if that is the same with the rest of the activities that they say they offer... ??
I loved the environment and the atmosphere of the hotel. It was unfortunate that even though we were counting on having a sauna (based on the website) the sauna was not yet finished.
The hotel is more than you would normally expect from a two-star. I was very well surprised by the stay. I would definitely recommend it.
Nice quiet setting overlooking a lake. Good breakfast choices.
Cleanliness, location and cost - you get excellent accomodation for your money. The pizza resteraunt at the other side of the lake is good value too !!
lovely rooms, great restaurant nothing!
The Dining Room and the food.
We felt at home and the service was excellent! In one word "quality"!
We loved the ambiance, decor, setting, friendliness of staff in fact everything. one little thing, coffee making facilities in room would have been an added blessing.
the silence,clean, parking
room clean and with good equipment. Nice design and terrace.. prices for food and beverages vers. service not approperiate.
Plenty of room Lighting in room was horrible-what's wrong with at least one or two lights you can read with? Also, restaurant staff was not helpful- Some of the young peaple there had to know how to speak at least a few words of English- did not care to evn try to be helpful
