It was an affordable hotel with good service and a nice view. It was a considerable distance from Koblenz
Away from the center of the city nestled on top a hill. Nice view. We booked a Leisure Deluxe room. Rooms are listed as follows: On Wyndham Site: Business Room (30 sqm) Junior Suite (37 sqm) Standard Double (18 sqm) Standard Single (18 sqm) Suite (70 sqm) Suite Deluxe (85 sqm) Superior Double (22 sqm) Triple Room (52 sqm) Notice, the only place the word “Deluxe” exists is the "Suite Deluxe" which is 85 sqm! When we arrived, we were told we would be given an upgrade of a room as our room type was not available. We were given a Triple Room. How can we be upgraded if we booked the best room they had? After complaining about the room, we were told that they only had 2 different room types: standard and business. The business room was the same as a triple. After showing the staff their website, they confirmed that it is misleading but that there was nothing they could do. They had nothing else to offer. One staff member said, if they had a suite, they would give it to us. So I proceeded to go online to find that I could still book a Junior Suite. The room was supposed to have a “deep soaking tub”. We got a 80cm x80cm shower. I'm still scratching from a bedbug bite. Mattress was sagging (we got 2 twin beds and booked a king). The room and balcony needed paint. On the balcony the paint was actually flaking off. The shower faucet was old and deteriorated. The radiator hadn't been dusted off in months. The safe was so small that you couldn't even fit a netbook... no key anyway. The sink was installed lower than code. The pillows were several years old. The curtains would not close. And we were given no maid service the first day because we left the room around noon. 4 stars? Don't go there!
The food was excellent and the room was the best i had ever had.
A True 4 star business hotel. Excellent value for the money the room was spotless, the hotel staff very helpful. The location was excellent for sightseeing of the Rhein/Mosel Region. $20 euro breakfast was not included in the price.
staff where helpful, breakfast was brilliant plenty of choice, beds where very comfortable meals in the evening where very expensive 25 euro for buffet not including drinks, bar menu was rubbish, not much choice and quiet expensive too. local food is definately worth it
We enjoyed our stay because the staff was very friendly and accomodatimg. The hotel is very nice, the room was very clean, and the breakfast had a good variety. The breakfast was costly if you are not a big eater.
It was clean and the view was lovely from our room That there is no swimming pool - everywhere there are signs around the hotel that say SPA or thermal spa - and the swimming pool is empty in a state of disrepair - however the countryside next to the hotel is very nice.
Staff should be fluent in English. The rooms should have air co.
Very comfortable hotel. rooms very clean. Helpfull staff. Good location near Koblenz. Nice garden.
Superb view from 10th floor! Excellent breakfast! The best all our holiday!
Great hotel, good restaraunt, amazing views.
The crew was absolutely flexible and very kind.
friendly staff and helpful, very good food in the restaurant
We liked the swimming pool facility. The staff were friendly. We disliked the fact that there was no bar.The service was very slow and no coffeee making facilities was a disappointment.
the indoor swimmingpool (for the kids)
the kitchen and staff the heating of the room was poor
Location - nice and green place, friendly stuff - when we arrived kitchen in restaurant was already closed, but they opened it and made dishes for us:) Very testy dishes in restaurant. Optimum parity of the price and quality of service. I can recommend hotel for shot stop on the way. I think I received all what I expected for this money.
Breakfast was excellent and contained fresh eggs, breads, cheeses, cereals, etc. Room was spacious, complete with a couch area. Internet service in the room was very poor - we had to go into the bathroom to get even a weak wireless signal. The water in the shower was very temperamental - either it was cold or it was scalding hot. The TV did not work.
This hotel was run by a lovely family in a beautiful old building, very accessible from Boppard and the Mosel. The owners were very helpful, and the room was incredible, especially considering the rate. The food was also excellent - I couldn't have been happier with my stay.
I was vey pleased. Good food, nice people. can only recommend it
We enjoyed the frinedliness of the staff. the breakfast was excellent. Will stay again.
Kind of like staying at your grandma's house. Things were clean and cozy...not 5 star...but who cares when you have kids! Breakfast was good with plenty of options. We were 15 min. away from the Rhine. The owner spoke very nice English. We'll be back again soon!
I found especially the friendly service very positive. Further more the room: it had a sitting corner and a big balcony to relax. The location of the hotel: it's located direct next to a main road which is used by a lot of trucks, also at night. So although the price/quality ratio is good, and also the staff (ie the owner) is very friendly, I don't think I will book here again in the future.
It was a nice and comfortable apartment/family room for our family, they also had a baby bed for our smallest child. Breakfast was also ok.
Very friendly hotel, good food, clean rooms. We booked it for an overnight stop on the way to Italy and liked it so much, after our stay, we booked it on the way back as well Nothing
Appartement very big! Incredible breakfast!
The staff was really nice and the location is excelent just in front of the river. The breakfast was very nice too and from the breakfast room you can see the beautiful river through the window. Finally, the city is really worthy to visit, with its narrow streets and its view of castles on the montains. Due to a misunderstanding while we were having breakfast the lady came to clean our room, so when we came back everything was tidy as for a new guest, so we felt a little as if we should have been leaving and not enjoying the time left in our room.
The room we booked was a nice bedroom/living room suite, but in the annex, not facing the river. We were able the upgrade to a riverfront room with a balcony for an additional Euro 17 per night, which we felt was a good value. There were 5 or 6 of these rooms on each floor, and I think a group with 2 to 5 adjacent rooms would enjoy socializing across the balconies.
Nice staff, large rooms, great value
Location overlooking the river. Very friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Bathroom was a bit small especially the shower with shower curtain
The Hotel was in a great location right on the Rhine Promenade in Boppard. Friendly helpful staff made it a great stay for a few nights.
The staff were always happy to talk and offer advice on local amenities.
Personal touch from the owner, nothing was too much trouble. Will visit the hotel again and recommend to all my friends. Nothing at all, perfect.
My family stayed at the Hotel and it as excellent. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful the two rooms we had were very clean. we had a room on the first and third floor you can see more from the third floor balcony.
View to the Rhein. Maybe the breakfast is not so varied.
I loved that the hotel is right on the bank of the Rhine and is just a few steps from the pier. I had a balcony room which overlooked the Rhine. The rooms are on the small side and the furnings are rather dated although clean. The staff/owner are helpful and friendly. I wish the barrier between the balconies were higher - they are just about waist high so you're basically standing right next to the guests next door if you're both outside. The rooms also allowed smoking so there was a smell in them (perhaps there are non-smoking rooms?). It was a very cosy hotel however and I had a great time here so would definitely come back if I were to stay in Boppard again.
Loved it! The perfect location on the banks of the Rhine. Staff couldn't have been more friendly. Pool a bit small, but otherwise everything just right. Will I go back? You bet!
This is a fantastic hotel. We have stayed here before and would highly recommend it to anyone.
The location of the hotel is spectacular, with an amazing view of the river! The staff is very helpful and kind. Eating at the hotel's restaurants is a really good option too. The city is lovely, a very nice place for wine lovers and the hotel is perfectly located to explore all the options that the Rhein Valley offers. The rooms are a bit noisy, both due to the trains on the other side of the river and due to the thin walls. The lack of free internet access in the rooms is also a problem.
great staff. location. decor no
The location is really excellent The room and communal areas are rather dated and not very clean. The staff not very helpfull
The position right on the Rhein, with a little balcony was great. The noise between rooms was pretty bad, and although the staff was responsive to inquiries or requests, I have to say their manner was a bit dour
Great location, nice rooms, good facilities. Will come again, if in the area. Pool was not open at 7 AM the day I was there.
The relaxed atmosphere and position of the hotel. Well worth the supplement for a river view.
Great as always
Very helpful staff, lovely room, parking inexpensive at close no wireless connection in room apart from T mobile which is expensive,
nice friendly lady owner, central position, good breakfast.
A bit old fashion but good value of the price.
Very central - easy walking distance to all attractions. Due to proximity to railway, windows need to be closed at night to block out noise - air conditioning totally inadequate.
Location was convenient to the centre of the town and river and beside the Roman ruins. Rooms were small but attactive. The fact that it was beside the railway tracks with trains going by all night.
All public rooms were very pleasant, clean and comfortable and the food very good. It is also within 10 minutes walk of the railway station, only 2 minutes from the main shopping street and less than 5 minutes from the river. Although we saw no evidence of the stay 3 nights and get a discount, the hotel costs are still good value. The hotel could do more to help with the constant noise throughout every night from the railway line that runs right alongside it, carrying freight trains every few minutes 24/7. The room was very dark, with no air conditioning and the window had to be closed at night to lower the noise level..
The no-nonsense approach, and the excellent cuisine. The fact that the trains do run on the other side of the wall is daunting.
cleanliness of the room and kindness of the reception's clerk room too hot with no conditioning and too noise from the street with open windows
I like the fact that is was centrally located easy to reach boats and trains Even with the shutters down could still hear noise from trains
Friendly service. Good food at the restaurant. Near busy railway line.
The excellent breakfast and friendliness of the proprietor
the accomodation was excellent with a super terrace to have drinks on.Good security for our motor bike
The owner was really welcoming. Room was very clean and comfortable. There was nothing about the hotel that we did not like. Would stay there again.
Very friendly owners Nothing
A friendly family run B&B close to the centre of Boppard. Very accommadating to all our wishes & excellent for young children. Close to a high speed railwayline which was occasionally noisy
The friendly welcome we received when we turned up on the motro bike. Secure parking for the motorcycle, & a good variety of breakfast, would stop there again.
Room was very clean and within walking distance to the Rhine River and the shopping area. In a quiete residential area. The mattresses were too hard for our liking. It was warm when we were there so we slept on top the quilt, on the mattress. which worked well for the 2nd night.
easy access by car, secure parking.
We stayed at the Hotel Pension Boos as it was the nearest, available and reasonably priced accommodation for the August Rhine in Flame festival. Although the procession doesn't go to Boppard, the accommodation provided us with a great base. Hotel Pension Boos was pretty much what I expected, although it's worth noting that it's more of a large B&B or guesthouse than a hotel. As others have said, the parking is also very cramped.
Friendly. Three person room three single beds with part partition wall. Very nice. Could have been just a little more choice at breakfast
Clean, friendly and relaxed and at a reasonable price. We found this hotel ideal for our needs, situated close to the station and not far from the town centre. We would use it again if we travel in this area.
A superb hotel in all respects. The room, which had a balcony looking towards the Rhine gorge, was spacious and spotlessly clean. The hotel is located in a peaceful location within a small village, about 4 miles from the town of Boppard. The breakfasts were excellent and the dinners served in the restaurant were superb and very good value. The hosts were extremely friendly and attentive.
We had a very late arrival at night due to driving delays and the woman at the reception desk kindly stayed to admit us and showed us to our room. The room was immaculate, big, and the view was lovely. The breakfast was well done and very good. The area was quiet. Even with a car it was a bit inaccessible and hard to find without a navigation system.
The staffs were very kind and helpful. The dinner in the restaurant was great! The room was spacious.Free WLAN. The extra bed was a little bit narrow.
Good food & very good family run hotel
Excellent American breakfast - yoghurt to die for. Excellent evening meal.
Lovely Welcome and a very pleasant atmosphere.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The dinner in the restaurant was great! The room was spacious, quiet surrounding
The breakfast was superb, especially the home made yoghurt.
this is a family run establishment. Wife checked us in; husband is the chef; son and brother bartend and wait tables. All were exceedingly friendly and accommodating. Room was very comfortable and large. Bathroom was also large and well appointed. Balcony was an added bonus. Restaurant was intimate. Food was very good - not particularly gourmet but more like "homey" German. English menu was not available but waiter (the son) very charmingly translated for us. I think this hotel is a bit out of the way. It didn't bother us because we were just staying one night on a trip from Rothenberg through the Rhine Valley to view castles, then on to Brussels the next day. But we didn't see anything within walking distance if one wanted to shop, dine or drink.
Breakfast was so good. no extra bed was available.
The variety of junk and art Nothing in the bathroom exept a bottle of soap on the wall not even a showercap or a washcloth. The hotel hasn't been renewed since about the 60's
This is the 2nd time we've stayed there. Lovely European property. Excellent restaurant. In a beautiful setting. Golf course wasn't particularly good, but O.K. Rained while we were there, so that probably influenced our experience.
The breakfast and the scenery n/a
Quiet location, friendly staff, good breakfast
Pleasant helpful, staff. Good food, excellent price. Parking facilities too limited.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast Was woken at 5.30 am by a group leaving to go on a coach tour.
Loved the riverside location and being able to eat outside by the river and the beautiful views.
Ease of car parking
The facilities for a disabled guest, the food and the location beside the river Lack of easy access to the Keller for a disabled person in a wheelchair..
The hotel is pleasantly situated by the river Rhine.
friendly and comfortable, good location and a nice cellar bar. no tea and coffee making facilities and during the evening I waited twenty minutes at reception for a purchase of mineral water to take to the room.
Good location. Parking on site. Room was comfortable and clean No lift.
Very close to the Rhine, excellent position for exploring the Rhine Valley, very good value
It was in a lovely position, very near the Rhine, and was in a quiet position, near enough to the town. Nice owners. It would be nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.It would also be nice to have a small fridge in the room doesn't have to be a mini bar.
the free and easy atmasphere and the friendly staff
convenient location. rich breakfast. warm-hearted landlady. clean and big room. something can be found nice and different from other hotels.
Very friendly staff, patio with bunny rabbit and parakeets and pond to relax on, have a glass of wine, etc. Could use a couple of comfortable chairs in room.
Everything was simple. Location was excellent, owner spoke English and was very friendly, bigger breakfast than other pensions I have stayed at. We even had an adjoining room to our kids'.
owner very frendly ,spoke some english, free drink on arival, very good bikers place to stay
The owners made us feel at home. It was the most relaxing stop on our trip.
nothing special there was no hairdryer an phone in the room
Very friendly owner couple/ staff; nice location. Good beds and a clean room. Excellent value for money No
nice family owned and the food they had was very good!!! the shower is a little small but thats how Europe is
the staff was very friendly and helpful and very good breakfast
The owner (John) is English and a very convivial and friendly host. The hotel is not large but very clean and welcoming. I will definitely use it again.
The personal attention that the host gave to all his guests! He was very helpful.
This hotel and the town of Boppard were just fantastic. We stayed for 4 nights, the service was great, the host was very engaging, and the breakfast buffet was good.
The location and easy of getting to the hotel. Really enjoyed the staff and the family-orientated surroundings.
The owner, John, went out of his way to be helpful. Many expat. English people there.
A wonderful stay with great value. John is the perfect host at a great inn located right in the middle of Boppard. Lounge was a little smoky for our taste, but not unusually so for Germany.
It was good to have an English owner. The owner was always helpful. The shower flooded overnight and on reporting it he immediatly offered a new room. Breakfast was ample. Car parking was only a few minutes walk away. Having internet access was a bonus. None.
The hotel and staff were excellent, friendly and careing, breakfast was continental, but again an excellent selection, I would recommmend anyone to visit this hotel. None found.
The owner could not do enough for you. It was very clean and comfortable.
incredible nature by Rhein, lovely people and very nice evening, with sunset and good atmosphere outside sitting in the restauransts by the riverside. no
Overlooks the Rhine River ! Friendly but facility needs improvements !
Verry nice staff and good atmosphere, good food and a nice room, overall verry sattisfaied.
We had a balcony room so we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the Rhein and all the barges and boat traffic also the view across to see all the train traffic. We visited in the fall and the weather was nice so enjoyed the leaves changing. only a short walk to town.
We liked the convenience of the hotel. We had a river side room with balcony, which was fantastic. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful and the rooms were very clean.
From the moment we arrived we were made welcome by the hotel staff. A wide choice and variety for continental breakfast and the hotel is in an excellent location on the river front in Boppard. There is not a great deal of parking at the front of the hotel. It is cheap for a 24 hour period (only Euro 2.50) but I can imagine that it would be manic to find a parking place in the height of summer.
excellent buffet breakfast and very helpful staff heating didn't seem to be very controllable - either too hot or too cold
Excellent Hotel with friendly and helpful staff who took very good care of the guests. The hotel owner made me a special cup of tea when I was feeling a little unwell with a cold. Brilliant! The Bett & Bike bicycle servicing kit was also very helpful for our bikes. We liked everything about this hotel, it was the best we stayed in on our cycle tour.
Restaurant with excellent cooking
This was the exact type of hotel we always look for, to experience the best in German hospitality. The restaurant was filled with locals and their families eating dinner... what better recommendation could you have. Frau Rudell made the whole dining experience superb! the food and her dedicted attention to everyones service and especially ours in English was more than we ever hoped to receive. To say the food was excellent is an understatement and at a very reasonable price. We will return as often as we can. We can not honestly find a thing we did not like.
Hospitable and helpful with attention to detail. Rustic decor theme and tastefully decorated for Easter in a beautiful location 100 yards from the Rhine.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They didn't speak much english but were patient with our limited german. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the food good.
bed an shower ok, nice atmosphere, nice and quiet village at rhine border, most suitable for a weekend out everything ok
Excellent meal and comfortable room.
The beds were comfortable!!! The service was not only good it was warm and friendly. The people who work in the hotel are really proud of the place and seem happy to help you enjoy your stay. The
Very clean, well appointed room, excellent restaurant, good value for money,
Location Not as described under booking.com's description - No swimming pool - No fitness centre !!!
The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. The triple room booked was spacious, however the en suite was a little cramped. The hotel did not have air conditioning and so it was necessary to sleep with the windows open for air. This meant that we were constantly interrupted by the night trains and traffic.
The food was excellent but the service was slow. Very helpfull when we arrived, carried cases to our rooms. Well situated to tour the valley of the Rhine. Gourmet food but a long time being served.
ideal location just what i needed
Welcome was good and food exceptional - so good we couldn't be bothered to go elsewhere.
Very nice hotel but basic. Limited car parking. Staff very good.
the roomj with balcony was excellent. welcom gift was thoughtful. dinner in the evening the food was awful. Kept warm for too long and if you were late down half of it was gone. not replaced. food had no imagination
Ease of access to the city centre Rooms noisy particularly at night - water pipes, people movement etc
The position of hotel was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful Parking was very difficult. The hotel car park is very small and we had to spend a lot of time seraching for somewhere to park that did not require us to constantly be paying money into a meter. Decor and furniture in hotel very dated.
Location on the Rhine riverbank very near to the village centre was superb. Good value for money and would stay there again. We stayed in the main building but would agree with other reviewers that the annexe should be avoided. Staff were friendly but no-one offered to help with our luggage on arrival or departure and it was clear we were struggling - I could have asked ror assistance but shouldn't have had to.
Very nice hotel. Great location in Boppart right on the Rhein.
Room spacious, and clean. all facilities were in the main building- difficult in wet weather!
Friendly helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Excellent position for our needs. Hotel generally was a bit dated - could do with smartening up.
Location to town, view of Mosel from room balcony, food Train noise, especially noticeable at night
