English speaking friendly staff. Excellent meal from the restaurant. Short amble to the railway station or the city. Parking available - at a price. Excellent free indoor swimming pool etc. WLAN/internet cost € 8 an hour.Ok if on business expenses but outrageous compared to our 4 star in Eisenach where it was free and unlimited. Bought a watch from reception display but they couldn't find instructions or the case. Parking expensive compared to what I usually pay.
The staff was freindly and helpful with an excellent breakfast. The location was terriffic!
unfortunately during our stay the temperatures reached over 35 degrees and as the hotel didn't have air conditioning it was extremely hot and uncomfortable in our room, we opened the windows but then had to suffer the noise from outside including drunks coming home in the small hours. We had a young baby who couldn't sleep because of these reasons and so had to cut our stay short. Would go back but when weather much cooler!
Good location in the other end of pedestrian zone in old town. Nice and clean rooms (at least business floor).
Location All beds are separate (no king or queen size beds) and very short (less than 1.9 meters). Rooms is not comfortable and old.Bathroom is very small even you are all alone in there =). Some smell in there.
Close to everything in Goslar. Great restaurant in the hotel. Very comfortable and spacious room.
Location is great, Hotel staff excellent, Use of pool and sauna
Good location, good facilities.
location, food, hospitality of staff
Decently priced. Although there seemed to be many visitors in the hotel it gave an impression of being deserted. Common areas like the Bar seemed closed.
Friendly atmosphere from a very happy and attentive staff.
Clean, comfortable and well-kept. Looks like this hotel has been refurbished quite recently.
The staff and the rooms where exellent
the building and silance, sauna
Staff were very helpful. Room was nice size, quiet and clean. Main issue with the hotel is the room price and the fact that the hotel does not meet normal four star standards. For example for our three night stay the bar and restaurant were not open and it was a long walk in heavy snow to the town centre. An additional 10 euros for breakfast is too much when paying such a high room price. There are far better value (comfort and price) hotels in Wernigerode.
The staff were very helpful There was no terrace or garden in which to sit and relax
Friendly staff, gorgeous room and bathroom, delicious breakfast buffet. Good location - only 5-10 mins walk to the Old Town. It was a shame that it did not have a restaurant, as it is always nice to have the option of eating at your own hotel. There are loads of good restaurants in walking distance though and the reception provided us with a map of the town so we could find our way around.
The staff were very professional/very courteous/very friendly/breakfast service was excellent.the staff were a credit to their profession.
Charming half-timbered old building that has been nicely renovated. Very clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast was not included with the room.
good service no
Good value for money for a family of 6 Poor selection at dinner buffet
Scenic location in the Harz mountains. Breakfast was quite nice.
The range of food at breakfast and the Bierstube restaurant for great value evening meals. Be aware that it is on top of a hill on the edge of Hahnenklee.
Very friendly staff - made you feel at home - even though it could have been different at a large modern hotel none
Excellent swimmimg pool Poor food
We were very happy for the facilities in the hotel, such as the swimming pool, the game room, the huge breakfast. It was very good for the kids, with the playroom and huge lobby and halls where they could run around.
the location, the aspect of the pool and the amazing breakfast
The breakfast is fantastic. Lounge is good and there is welcome drink. The room is very nice and the bed is comfortable. The spa is great. It is next to shopping street. Staffs are very responsive and helpful. Some staffs does speak good english. This is the best stay of the whole trip. There is only one terminal at the lobby to access internet for free. The parking is very expensive.
The Hotel is very good and exelent Access difficult- not sufficient direction signs
The location, right in the centre, within walking distance of everything Trying to find the hotel by car is tricky. City directions were not very good and sat navs useless
Being in the centre of this wonderful ancient town, and being made to feel very comfortable. It was extremely clean and the rooms were large and beautifully decorated. A luxurious hotel. There was an unpleasant smell of drains in the reception area of the hotel, which is probably explained because of old sewerage systems, but wasnt noticeable anywhere else in the hotel.
The hotel was wonderful and location was great. 'The breakfast was great...the only bad part was the dinner... restaurant food was overpriced for dinner and service was poor. They did not even ask if I wanted dessert or coffee and we could not get them to even come to the table to ask, we had to chase them down.
Comfort and cleanliness, food of excellent quality, position in town very difficult to access-needs clearer maps for motorists.Car parking 10Euro/day-12 if the system is not explained.Pool would be nice.
Very good hotel in the middle of the city Wernigerode. Excellent breakfast and a la carte dinner Very difficult to find in the dark. The signs to the hotel should be illuminated.
brilliant range of food at breakfast, the way the tablecloths were changed after each table had been used, the pleasant decor in the public areas We did not learn any German at school and would have found it helpful if the dinner menus had been translated into English
All staff were very helpful and friendly No, it was superb
Went to the Kloster; the countryside and the downtown area there was a show being filmed....a real pain
Splendid location in Goslar. The restaurant was excellent. Our rooms were located in an odd part of the hotel, and we had go in several stairs.
Our room was comfortanle, large and had a lovely view of the Marktplatz and the charming glockenspiel performance.
well catered central location
Good location, nice breakfast Access by car not optimal, but we made it work.
The location is wonderful (what a view out of the window, right onto a thousand years of history), the staff excellent, and the rooms romantic. What more can you want! Nothing.
Historic atmosphere Not enough water from shower
The location is just perfect, right at the market square and what a lovely building, the breakfast was great. We both had single rooms, which were clean and neat but small. We also thought the reception staff could have smiled a bit more and treated us a bit more as guests, but it was a minor thing and did not reduce the pleasure of staying at this great Hotel
Bathroom too small. Nowhere for wet towels.
Good service, rooms OK, good restaurant, breakfast starts at 7 but they make a nice lunchbox in case you need to leave earlier. Television is out of date
Welcome and swimming facilities Gourmet restaurant was closed but we were not informed, food in alternative venue was gourmet style and prices but not what we would have chosen for ourselves
very nice staff, clean the wifi did not work for me
Very good hotel. Very clean. Friendly staff. Good kitchen. Quiet and relaxing. None really, except two disasters in the kitchen. Their bouillabaisse was much to salty, the fish hard and the portion too small. The other evening the Pomme Anna was much too hard (reheated ?). Otherwise the resturant was excellent with good value for the money - we liked it so much that we ate there three nights. The sauna was closed one night due to rebuilding. Too bad that it had to be the evening where we had our 25 years wedding night.
friendly staff, cozy room
We used the hotel for 1 night stay during our travel to Netherlands. Haus Rehlein is small but agreable. Sufficiently equipped. Simple but very good breakfast. It was necessary to pay cash.
Friendly people, clean rooms, simple but good breakfast
nothing the behavior was not good.the batheroom was saparate from the room, it was downstairs, so we have no privaty.it was no soap in the batheroom and when we ask for soap , he became very angry.it was unplasent.
Good, clean stay - good for fair price. Good breakfast, nice staff. For better understanding - it is one house with 2 rooms for guests, no hotel. The bath for touristic room is not in the room, but outside (allthough belongs just for this room).
Good access to Hartz Mountains, forest walks, easy reach of beautiful Wernigerode town. Very basic, not very clean accomodation. We had to pay extra to have a towel and even had to pay to have a toilet roll! I would not recommend.
Silence.Very good written introduction and information about the area. Informative and friendly owner. Could have WiFi or cable internet net connection in bungalow.
since it's a private home with different guest rooms and apartments it comes across as very personal and homey. Thus, lacking the particular hotel atmosphere, it will appeal to some but not to others. Having an apartment with 2 rooms worked well for us - plenty of space, good, generous breakfast There are lots of rules (and little notes spelling them out) everywhere, thus one feels a little restricted
We had a good time at the hotel! The manger was very kind, nice and very welcoming! The room was big and very comfort. We had a nice kitchen with a sitting table, a livingroom and a big bedroom in two floors house. The area was very quiet, and beautiful. The price is not fair because the hotel is not in the center and the price was like in the center of the city.
Great location at edge of Altstad and across road from Hartzer Tourist Railway. Accommodation very comfortable. Restuarant excellent. Staff spoke English and were all extremely friendy and helpful. Parking onsite. Great experience.
Breakfast buffet was very good Difficult to find
Cheerful friendly and attentive staff. Good food both at breakfast and in the evening. Room was clean and spacious but some might consider it a little basic. Bathroom facilities excellent. Good firm beds.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and offered excellent service. It was extremely valuable for the money we paid (64 EUR for a double room). The minibar was free (!), the parking was free and breakfast was included in the room price. The kitchen offered great local specialities which I appreciate very much. When checking in we received a map of the city of Wernigerode, lots of discount coupons to use in restaurant and stores, as well as a free rides on not only all public transports within the city of wernigerode but also for buses to other areas in the harz mountains. You can easily walk to town from the hotel, but we took the car, since parking in town was easily and didn't cost anything after 6 in the evenin The beds were a little hard but thet is a matter of personal taste of course.
Nice view of the castle from the top rooms. Good, firm bed. Decent restaurant with helpful staff. No internet in the room! Also full a few minor inconveniences such as a light switch for the bathroom outside the room and behind the door. Furniture was quite ugly, but comfortable. You need a car to access this hotel, which would be the only major drawback vs a hotel in the middle of town.
Outstanding location just near the "Skisprungschanzen" of Wernigerode. We had a very nice and spaceous apartment with balcony and perfect view on mountain, Schanzen and all other nature. The price we paid for this experience is unbeatable. 10 to 15 minute walk to outstanding downtown Wernigerode, were parking is not easy to find. nothing at all.
The staff were exceptionally helpful, staying late when we got lost and arrived after reception was officially closed. They even sent someone to help us find our way to the hotel after we arrived in the town. This was just one example of the excellent service provided by the very friendly staff. All of their help was greatly appreciated.
Friendly staff at reception. Good breakfast buffet included in price. Excellent view of Schloss Wernigerode. Requires aircons in room, terribly hot in summer.
Excellent facilities. Helpful staff. Free pass for local transport. Good restaurant. A bit of a hike from town centre. Last bus at about 6.30.
The location of the hotel at the border of the old town.
This was our second stay at this hotel. It is very handily placed to the railway station and the old town. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here both times.
Nice atmosphere, high ceilings, wood furniture, good graphics in the corridors
Good localization. Friendly staff. Clean rooms and excellent breakfast buffet.
Easy parking near citycenter. Excellent breakfstbuffet. More information about the city aviable at the desk.
Goslar is a gorgious city with many old nice-kept houses. The hotel lays in walking distance to everything. The room was very nice and spacy. There was a fairly priced and spacy parking garage. Breakfast was very good, but not included in the room price.
the rooms were extremely clean and comfortable, there was an elevator which made things even nicer. riendly people.f
The Diners buffet and the breakfasts. That the hotel bar was closed ad2100 h.
We went for the most expensive room in the hotel, which was wonderful value for money, in a town that is sure to become a tourist hotspot. Excellent breakfast as well, only place I have seen that had vitamin tablets for the breakfast included Why have a cartoon painting of penises and vaginas in their most luxurious room! Ruined a very good stay. I have made a complaint regarding this and all they said was, oh we have an arrangement with the local art gallery. All the rest of the paintings were tasteful, just this one. I have no problems with paintings that are of naked people if they are true art and reasonably discrete, but this was macabre to say the least
Although it looks uninteresting from outside, it is beautifully furnished in the modern scandinavian style. The position by the lake is quiet inspite of the position near the road into the spa town. The service is exceptionally attentive and friendly. The food is simply outstanding and would not be out of place in a gourmet London restaurant.. Not really. To call it a luxury hotel it only lacked larger grounds around the hotel.
Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Very clean comfortable rooms. Would have liked a TV channel in English eg news of some sort.
the location how the clen the room very fast
It is newly renovated hotel with great view over a lake. Great gourmet style four course dinner for only eur24. Set in a beautiful mountain location. Great for biking and walking. Also a cable car takes you to the top of the nearby mountain. Lovely spa area, bar and playroom. Playground situated just across the street. Pedal boats were available to hire on the lake. The hotel ia not far from the Autobahn so great stop off if you are crossing Germany.
Pofessionel staff, very good food, Danish channels on tv.
the friendly staff the restaurant and bar were not open
Over 100 years old, proprietor lives on premises and serves some of the time. Old fashioned virtues of good service, friendliness and very good food at reasonable prices. Little bit tatty, could do with some painting on balconies.
This hotel is within driving distance of the town of Goslar - 15km. Goslar is a truely stunning town and warrants a stay of longer than the single day we unfortunately had. Take time to enjoy this gem of a town. Hotel is located more remotely from Goslar than I had expected. Hotel is quite old, and the rooms pay the price of this. They are a bit cramped and tired looking. The bathroom is very tiny. The place has a fifties feel about it. I think staying within Goslar itself would be a better idea.
The food were good. The lack of servicemindedness, and they were not interested in speaking english.
An excellent hotel.Staff so friendly and accomodating.Service was outstanding. In a quiet area, but very close to all local attractions.Great for families and couples.Beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Can't praise the staff enough, they were fantastic and made you feel very special.Food was excellent, inclusive breakfast as well as the hotel's restaurant and very reasonably priced. Absolutely nothing. Would recommend it to anyone and would definitely stay here again.
Staff very friendly. Quiet surroundings and good for hiking. Good food. Pet friendly. Nothing
It's ideally positioned at the outskirts of the village with direct access to the forest walks and town restaurants etc. Further we enjoyed the big rooms and various facilities. For us it was a most enjoyable stay.
the quiet location and the friendliness of staff parking facility, too little and also difficult to use
It was a very quiet hotel with good services and with a very friendly host that also speaks english.
The owners are very friendly, the breakfast is very good, everything clean and comfortable You have to pay an extra 7€ for the whirlpool - I think this could be included.
What I liked the most was the cosy atmosphere. Nothing I disliked about the hotel.
Hotel had a pleasant swimming pool and sauna area which after a long days cycling was very much required. I did not particularly like that in a double room there were twin beds rather than a double bed
Conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood close to the old town. Plenty of free parking. Our ground floor room had a pleasant outside seating area. Room was on the small side and overall experience seemed more like a three star hotel.
Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Good facilities (swimming pool, parking space, garden, etc.)
the staff kindness and nice attitude, the comfortablr room and the parking facilities
Staff at check-in was extremely helpful and accommodating. Charged us 1.50 Euro for a map of the city.
clean and quiet shower water
Good breakfast. plenty of parking with garage if required at extra cost. very good staff. not so good location within a housing estate.our disabled person within the group found his room to far away from all facilities inc car park.Rooms tired and ready for refit. No tea/ coffee in rooms.Generally not up to scratch for a holiday accomadation. Breakfast too dear if just wanting small snack should be a choice with cost reductions.
Very nice and comfortable hotel, good and very friendly service
Breakfast is not included, and is offered for additional 13 euros per person. those who wish to have breakfast may find the total cost far less attractive when compared with other hotels around goslar.
We liked the town, the hotel was a bit basic A bit out of date
Very central, good breakfast selection. When we arrived, we were given a free upgrade at no extra cost, which was a very pleasant surprise and the suite was excellent. For some reason, the hotel bar/cafe was not open in the evening, however, there were numerous alternatives within a couple of minutes walk.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful in there advice as to where to go and the best days on which to go.
Very friendly staff- we recieved a warm reception and were made to feel very welcome. The staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable.
Excellent location in the older part of town. Friendly staff. Atmosphere and ambience of the place.
clean comfortable rooms the strong smell of cigarettes in entrance hall
