9.5 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional friendliness of host - beautiful large bedroom - location is quite special - we had an hour's walk along the leafy canal before supper. I know that wasn't strictly speaking the host's doing, nor was the fine weather - but she did encourage us to explore a place she obviously loves.
Cons: Counsel of perfection - if you're serving coffee for breakfast a cafetière of ground coffee would have been welcome.

Pros: Excellent B&B, lovely quiet location, scenic with horses on land. Val greeted us by name as we arrived and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay, super host. Hearty english breakfast cooked to order, one of best we’ve tasted. Lovely walk from there down to river and canal. We were staying couple of nights to attend a wedding and Val organised us a taxi, nothing too much trouble. Night before wedding Val recommended ‘Half Way House’ nearby restaurant, 5 min walk away, been newly furbished, excellent food. Wedding venue at ‘The Old Barn’ amazing too, so has been an enjoyable memorable weekend for us. Thank you to all.

Pros: The Abbey Lodge hotel was excellent value for money with everything you could need in a clean well-presented hotel room. Furthermore, the breakfast included in our room rate was superb.

Cons: No one there 10 mins before my earliest estimated arrival time. Then, being let in by someone in bare feet looked unprofessional. Television too small to view comfortably from the bed. Parking not easy and residents only parking to be instituted in the next week won't help.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Temperature of shower in Room 13 could not be adjusted. The water was far too hot, to the point it could scald. I mentioned this to the staff on check-out in the hope the control would be mended.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A warm welcome, a comfortable room and no TV in the bar or restaurant!
Cons: The food was very disappointing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The area is beautiful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location next to the moors
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location, friendly staff, gorgeous room with a fantastic view of the cow and calf which is where my husband proposed, so it was perfect for our wedding night!
Cons: Everything was lovely, can’t fault it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good
Cons: Nol
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The scenery
Cons: The room!! We booked a room with 2 single beds at a cost of £89 for one night, only to find it was in the Attic and very basic.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing. Although we asked for a double, we were given a twin room but the beds were extremely comfortable.
Cons: The shower cubicle was very small and there was no shelf or anywhere to piy toiletries. I'm very small so I think a large person would really struggle.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location. I loved my post breakfast walk on the moors. And really good breakfast. Continental breakfast which is included is really good with very nice warm croissants included. But also low priced cooked breakfast on offer. The scrambled eggs and mushrooms are particularly good.
Cons: The bar closed a bit sharpish. We’d been at a function and would have liked a nightcap but bar was in darkness when we got back at 11.10.
The Wheatley Arms - Ilkley - Building
7
8.9 Excellent (975 reviews)

With a stay at The Wheatley Arms in Ilkley, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Bolton Priory and Ilkley Playhouse. Featured amenities include luggage storage and refrigerator in a common area. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere and ambience
7.5 Good
Pros: Bed was very comfortable, fresh milk available for tea making.Food was of a high quality and locally sourced. Parking on site.
Cons: The window in the bathroom needed to be wedged open. Having said that they are original to the building and are sash opening,so we were o.k. with wedging the window open.
7.0 Good
Pros: Food good but seemed short staffed so a little chaotic
Cons: Staff a bit chaotic and seemed put in the least possible effort. All looked like teenagers so probably not their fault. Poor welcome on arrival and no one asked if we had enjoyed our stay on departure. Room terribly hot and window opened only very small way.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: We should have had a four poster bed but didn't.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room and ensuite was a little on the smaller side but adequate. We stayed on the hottest day of the year and the room remained hot and uncomfortable despite the helpful provision of a table fan but that said, the young staff were friendly, attentive and keen to help; we didn't need to go out for dinner as the dining food was simply brilliant, as was the breakfast. We have eaten at a 'sister' inn at Sawley near Skipton and on this experience would happily stay at any of the group's Inns. A short drive up the hill behind takes you to Ilkley Moor and the Cow and Calf viewpoint, and by some of the swishest residences in Yorkshire.
Cons: Nothing significant to complain about really apart from things outwith the property's control ie the uncomfortable heat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely pub. Amazing rooms and facilities. Would definitely return in a heartbeat!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Staff was uniformly helpful and friendly.
Cons: Spotty WiFi
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful atmosphere. Meal served on arrival although after 'normal' hours. Good breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and free-parking facilities excellent. Staff generally friendly and helpful though some are a little 'lackadaisical' although deficiencies could probably be remedied by some training. Breakfast very good and nice bar.
Cons: I arrived on Sunday and was not told that the restaurant closes early on that day; with no offer to make some 'scratch' alternative e.g. soup & sandwichs, eggs & bacon and so on. Therefore, after a long journey to get there we had to go out to find another venue for dinner: fortunately, providing you are familiar with the area and have your own transport, there are several acceptable options within a mile or so. As always, the steep narrow staircase and absence of an elevator makes accessing bedrooms, especially with luggage, not too convenient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a terrific time at Wheatley. The room was beautiful and the bed very comfortable. A great shower, plus a fine large bathtub in the bedroom! The breakfast was superb, with salmon, eggs, croissants, plus cereal and juice and good coffee. Fine food at dinner. Everyone in the staff was really wonderful, friendly, helpful and we would definitely stay there again, even planning a trip to include a few nights. Thanks so much to Michelle, Sam, Marie, Joe and the rest of the staff. You made our vacation very special, and we think it's the best place we stayed on our three and a half week trip.
Cons: There was really nothing we didn't like about this lovely hotel. A great find.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room with a very good restaurant.
Cons: Very busy place, had to wait to get a table and get served, worth the wait though.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: BREAKFAST WAS GREAT
Cons: THE BREAKFAST COFFEE !!!!!!!!!!
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast.
Cons: The curtains were useless! Awake as soon as the sun rose... blackout curtains are a must! Parking! This was a bit of a nightmare. Parking charges had changed 2 days before so there was no free on street parking. The pay and display was £1/hr to 6pm but then had to pay again from 6pm-12pm! Only £1 but we were at a wedding which wasn't ideal to sort parking out via an automated telephone system! Then we had to get up before 8am to put more parking on until we left at 11am! Although this isn't the hotels fault this was a problem for us as we weren't always in Ilkley! Maybe the hotel need to purchase parking permits for their visitors?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and great restaurant.
Cons: I can’t think of anything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Power shower & great fan which was needed. Best was the bar with loads of great ales and gins and bistro with unusual menu, with great service from the staff both dinner and breakfast.
Cons: Absolutely nothing! All good.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Close to show we went to see.
Cons: Toilet roll holder was broke, isn't like on the picture, red hot in the bedroom with just a fan which we had to leave on all night and it was noisy, hair on bath towel, parking was really expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quality bd and nice breakfast cooks to order.
Cons: All good no complaints
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the Superior King Room, the decor was tasteful and too a high standard. The breakfast was also really good.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is right in the centre of town and looks to have a very good restaurant, but did not eat there. Staff friendly and helpful and an excellent breakfast was included.
Cons: Hottest night of the year, room was very warm. Fortunately the hotel had provided an electric fan which helped, but the window would only open a couple of inches, and was not enough to allow the cooler evening air to circulate
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Full English Breakfast was huge & very tasty served in a French bistro restaurant that serves as the hotels breakfast room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed one night the room was comfortable, very clean and the bed comfy. The tea and coffee facilities was good. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was good. One slight criticism, being three score years and ten we could have done with a grab rail for getting out of the bath after a shower. Other than that no other faults. The breakfast next morning was excellent, the food was very good and served on hot plates. Thank you

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Massive room including a lovely bathroom and the continental breakfast was lovely
Cons: The bar area could have been cleaner and the service faster, our dessert took over 30 min to arrive
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Mandy in charge of breakfast made our experience wonderful.
Cons: So many stairs to climb to our bedroom
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was clean and modern. Check-in was easy enough. I’ve never stayed at an “ inn” so didn’t realize checking in would mean at the bar. It was pretty seamless from there.
Cons: The waitress who checked us in confirmed we had air conditioning, being the hottest day on record in Leeds—once in the room, air conditioning meant a tiny fan. It was extremely hot and over a pub so the drunk chatter was a bit annoying—the tiny fan drowned out some of that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super spacious room with power shower and gorgeous views
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and amenities
Cons: No shops near a little isolated
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed & spacious room. Breakfast was fantastic. All staff very helpful.

7.0 Good
Pros: Bar and restaurant had good views out with plenty of windows.
Cons: Breakfast was very basic, could do with improving the quality of the bread.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location for the airport, best price by far in the area around the airport. Lovely pub and beer gardens.

7.5 Good
Pros: Location was excellent. Views were fabulous. Comfy beds and spacious master bedroom. Lovely fluffy towels and good quality bed linen.
Cons: Condensation problems particularly in the front bedroom. Central heating system needs attention. Shower needs upgrade.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent location in Wetherby centre. Beautiful views over the river. Huge master bedroom with loads of storage space. Great space for 2, but 3 adults found it a bit of a squeeze sharing one toilet and bathroom.
Cons: Electric shower is not powerful enough. Parking is a pain, of the recommended car parks, 1 had 2 hour and the other had 45 minute max stays so we were lucky not to get a parking ticket on the first night and then had to find onstreet parking. Master bed mattress needs replacing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location 2 minute walk to wetherby town 5 minute drive to wetherby racecourse and 30min drive to york very cosy and gr8 views of river at back of cottage
Cons: Nothing everything was as described
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location. 3 minutes walk to the centre of Wetherby. Didn't meet the owners but they kept in touch and access to the property is by a door code which was very convenient. They had an A-Z guide folder with plenty of information. Nice touches were a welcome message on a chalkboard and "A recommended day by the owners". The photos on the ad are a good representation of the cottage. Also, we brought coffee/tea supplies but they were already provided.
Cons: The shower could have been a bit stronger but not a deal breaker. Otherwise very little to fault this lovely cottage.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely cottage had everything we needed...perfectly located as well.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lovely views
Cons: Just the parking, nothing can be done to improve it but once we had found a parking spot round the corner (near Sainsbury’s) it was fine
6.8 Good
Pros: Very convenient for town and great view over river and playing fields
Cons: Close to road with on road parking short distance away. Poor shower over bath
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Cottage was pretty much perfect for us in every way. The Kitchen had all you would want for a 2 night break, the sitting room and terrace had great views out over the river and would have been great to sit out at had the weather been kinder. The 2 bedrooms were large and comfortable enough, along with enough space for storage of suits and the like, with the back bedroom having incredible views out over the river and beyond due to the large windows. The bathroom was quite small and the shower played games of hot/cold with you, but wasn't really an issue. The Chalk Board message on arrival was a lovely personalised touch.... Thank you...
Cons: The Yorkshire weather, but alas our hosts may be good, but i don't think their powers go that far... ;-)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A little difficult to operate key code
Cons: Not a big deal but we missed not having a teapot
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely views
Cons: No parking at property

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast exceeded my expectation, as i did not expect as much for the price paid. The room was clean and tidy, but only enough for 2 coffees and 2 teas, but only 2 small milks. This was ideal for us as it was stopping point for onward travel, I would definitely consider if I am in the area again.
Cons: Not enough, coffee, tea or milk. the reception area, or lack of.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Reception pleasant and efficient. Lovely big room. Had asked to be next door to friend in advance, was done. Everything worked. Decaf coffee available, good supply of milk. Was very comfortable. Good to be able to have windows open in stiflingly hot weather. Car parking was just adequate, coming in later at night was quite full. Lovely stay, thank you.
Cons: Key took 5-6 swipes to work each time. Tv channels not obvious to find, alternating radio 3 and bbc 1 took a while. One night some guests were noisy, but not the fault of the hotel!

7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very nice. Had dinner as well which was also good. Location by the River Wharfe is fantastic and adjacent to park. 10 minute walk into Ilkley. Closes early so quiet for guests which is also a blessing.
Cons: No bedside table nor lights to make reading a book in the evening easy - had to have overhead lights which I don't like at night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. Lovely homemade food. Large filled Yorkshire puddings and fish n chips were the best! Fabulous location by the river. Couldn’t have asked for more. Will definitely be back soon.

Pros: Lovely pub, clean rooms, friendly staff, lovely view.
Cons: Shower was not very powerful
5.5 Okay
Pros: The setting on the river is beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and clean (very nice bed), although the decoration was very strange and incongruous with the rest of the hotel., but I could live with that. The hotel was quiet and I slept well.
Cons: It is totally overpriced for the quality and service. The staff were mixed - some extremely unwelcoming and even rude whilst a few tried to do their best. Breakfast was dismal - if you are not the full English breakfast type, there was very little other option to eat. We attended the Ilkley tennis tournament and asked if we could order sandwiches from the bar menu to take to the tennis with us, but it was refused.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice location
Cons: No where in bathroom to put anything. Mirror too low down so had to bend down to shave, bed was a twin pushed together whivh were different heights duvet was anout 20tog in the middle if summer and pillows so fat had to sleep without one. Food average at best typical microwave stuff.

Pros: I had room only
Cons: Everything was excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great value for money and the service I received from the host was brilliant. I arrived after the check in time and the host made other arrangements for me to check in. I actually had an interview the next day and the host was even kind enough to provide me with a pair of socks as I had forgotten them on the eve of a job interview. I can’t emphasise enough how good the service was and how kind the host was, would recommend anyone to stay here as the value for money was very good as well
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Quiet room with a huge bed, flat screen tv, en suite and tea/coffee making facilities. Despite the large bed, the room was still very spacious. We met the owner, Kevin, who was very hospitable, charming and funny. Slept in later than intended as the bed was so comfortable! Another bonus was being able to park my car in the hotel car park at the rear of the hotel. Great value for money :)

Cons: Was a bit noisy for a couple of hours, music with bass played nearby, but all stopped by 11pm thankfully.

Cons: nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was good. Accommodation was fine and set in a good location (in the woods). Breakfasts were good with plenty of options.
Cons: Bar menu was a bit limited (for a vegetarian / vegan). Biggest issue was that we could not book in for any treatments as they were fully booked for a week past our stay. If we had known about this before our arrival, we would have booked in advance. Also, TV reception and Mobile reception were patchy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Cabin decorated to a high speck! Lovely hotel & fab breakfast!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: We had the executive room and it cost £1-4 for the night. It was too hot in the room and we were put near a staircase so really loud and could hear people running up and down the creaky stairs. Would not stay again

Pros: Gorgeous setting friendly staff but the place in desperate need of renovation such a shame as it could be fantastic and we would go back if they updated the rooms. It appeared as though the decor dated back to the seventies / early eighties really poor.
Cons: Carpets windows lights bathroom was extremely poor even the toilet seat sprung off if we hadn’t have been desperate for a night away we would have left immediately
