Very modern and spacious rooms. The whole hotel is lovely. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful...Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were obviously genuine in their relationship with the hotel guests. Spa still not open but not too much of a problem. Smoking was allowed in the bar although it had a separate non smoking room adjacent. This prevented us from making full use of the bar.
Quiet, clean and spacious room. Free internet access available throughout the hotel. The hotel didn't seem fully operational. It is located at Monachil and rather hard to find. Not recommended unless with own car or with tour group. Air cond. in our room didn't work during our stay. We suspect it was centrally controlled. Wireless internet is only available in the lounge area.
Very large room. Despite what is stated, there was no wifi in the room. Internet in the room was possible with a (very short) cable, but if you're unlucky, they are all gone (as I've experienced).
Lovely hotel, new, clean and helpful staff. I took a bit to find but apart from that a good experience.
I feel that you should not have to pay for parking and the hot breakfast needs to have more additions like beans and mushrooms
We ended up being charged more than what was quoted at the actual place. Plus, our elevator did not go to the floor. Rather we had to get off and climb stairs--my mother had a difficult time, given that she recently had surgery.
It was a brand new hotel - the room was large & modern with all required comforts. The hotel was still under construction but this did not effect our stay in any way From the website we thought the hotel was in the Sierra Nevada when it was a 30 minute drive away
the service, rooms, and view were great-would stay again
1st lady at desk excellent most staff unhelpfull - bathroom aqnd toilet no doors and glass see through walls!? - boked for 2 nights but left after 1 because genarally horrible hotel -
Excellent hotel with comfortable well appointed rooms. However, the hotel was newly opened and still not fully operational. Good location for Alhambra Palace and sking in the Sierra Nevada.
There was no wifi in the rooms and the breakfast was really poor and the hotel bar closed at midnight
The staff was very personal, the breakfast was excellent with a gorgeous view over the mountains, the hotel was only 15 minutes away from Granada.
Very friendly staff, speaking English well. Good info about tours in the environment. Got a cd from the handyman. Really nice people. The location is also very nice. In the middle of the mountains. Once found, you will not fail a second time. But we overlooked the signs and went wrong. The rince in the bathroom was leaking water on the floor. breakfast time is starting from 9:00, pretty late, especially when you want to visit the Alhambra early.
beautifull surroundings garden and wiev, nice staff It would be nice if there was a la carte eating
Lovely welcome, and helpful staff, beautiful hotel and surroundigs. Air-conditionning would be a plus in addition to the fan.
After staying in noisy cities, the peace and quiet here was wonderful. The rooms all have lovely views and ours was very comfortable. Patricia, the owner, cooked dinner every night - 4 courses of beautiful home cooked food- perfect The breakfast buffet was also the best we had experienced on this trip. the owners did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. A real gem.
Fantastic welcome from the owners and staff - absolutely lovely place to spend a few days!
We enjoyed the beautifull location. Very helpfull staff on specific needs.
The ambiance and the perfect welcome and tips made us feel welcome. Beautiful surroundings and quietness, lovely decorated room with the perfect toutch. To find the location was a little difficult, and the road was very narrow.
almost everything evening meal restricted to 1menu @30euros. too expensive. The access road was dangerous at night, so few passing points.
Wanting a relaxing weekend with some nature thrown in we booked this hotel after reading all the good reviews. And we werent disappointed one bit. The location is great, only 10 minutes to the centre of Granada, 2 minutes to Monachil old town, and 20 minutes to the ski station. The hotel itself being an old cortijo is lovely, restored and furnished in a modern yet traditional way. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The food is great, although its a set menu the quality is fantastic and good value. All in all, we were very pleased. We cant wait to return ! Nothing.
Great value for money. Fantanstic sized rooms and helpful staff, parking on site, child play area and located with great views just 8km from centre of Grenada (12 minutes drive) and 30km from Sierra Neveda mountains and snow.
We had a double room with one bad, but in reality those was two seperate just putted together it makes sleep in this bad imposible.
It was a good combination, you visit the city and afterwards go back to your hotel we're it's possible to relax in a quiet area!!
not the hotel, but it is difficult to find, a sign near the gas station at bottom of hill would help
very friendly and helpful staff. good food. high standards throughout the hotel. We stayed over a fiesta weekend. a funfair was near by and very loud until late at night, followed by a rock concert until 4am. unable to use swimming pool. building work to the hotel still in progress.
The room was lovely and the view was excellent and a small fridge in the room helped. The first day was a nightmare for us with no wi-fi working and the shower was hardly warm, and only one staff member in the back office was helpful. Reception run by waiters who couldn't speak english and too busy to be bothered with trying to help. No tourist information available - and although a restaurant there it seemed empty. We did get room service finally and that was reasonably priced and very nice. Apparently they offer free coffee or tea to your room 24hrs a day - but it was too hard to ask for it!
The room was clean, liked the swimming pool, friendly hotel staff. The restaurant and our waiter was not up to the expectations, and the standard of the hotel. Would recommend a dinner in the city.
it was a really nice hotel for the price requested, and very good services.
Price Tv not working some channels not accessable
Got a spacious room with big terrace and great views. Tasty decor. Friendly staff. Nice pool-area (no crowds, we were alone). Very quiet area at night. Free parking. It is not the best choice for travellers without own wheels, although there is a bus stop right next to the hotel gate. In one point the bathroom door (room 206) touched the floor. Force was needed to open and close.
It was great, we were really pleased. If you are mountain fan and want to combine it with a bit of romance, this is excellent choice.
Nice modern hotel with striking architecture in a quiet village location. Super views over countryside to Sierra Nevada. Nicely fitted out room with A/C. Dinners were good. Only two rooms were occupied which was a pity because it deserves more patronage. Breakfasts were on the meagre side.
Hotel in quiet and peaceful. A good quality restaurant. Breakfast restricted with few options.
Mountain views, ample parking, convenient for Sierra Nevada and Granada. Limited breakfast. Virtually no English spoken,
Vrey nice location
Location The receptionist could have been a happier chappy, I don't think he smiled once?
Staff was very friendly and helpful. TV with international channels & wireless available. quiet place. A good place to stay if you want to be a bit outside of Granada. It was not difficult to reach the center of Granada by car. There was no water in the pool, but it might have been because it was the end of the season. There are not many restaurants, bars in the area if you don't want to drive. We stayed only one night in the village in the evening. The rest of the time we went to Granada.
Helpfulness of the staff.
Peaceful setting, friendly and helpful staff. No
It was very nice being close the siera nevada and also close to granada. none
It was in an excellent position and really made us feel like we were in the mountains. Great experience. Room was quite crowded with four but was still good.
Perfect for everyone who likes to combine a city trip (with Alhambra not to be missed!) and exploring the mountains of the Sierra Nevada / the Alpujarras. Especially Los Cahorros (30 min walk from the hotel) is worth a visit. Staff is very very kind! They make your stay even better. The pool is nice, especially after a long day walking. A car can be helpfull, but the bus goes frequently to Granada and takes less than half an hour. The restaurant was closed during our visit (for renovation) so we don't know if it's good. In summer it's low season so many restaurants in the village are closed, but there's always something to eat. Our bed was a bit hard, but for the rest was the room really comfortabel.
swimming pool, helpful friendly staff, beer mugs, peaceful setting
Friendly staff, good location and facilities our room was tiny, once unpacked there was little space to move between bed and bathroom. it had a small balcony to compensate for the small interior.
Staff were very friendly and the room was lovely and clean. This is a lovely hotel but unfortunately the location is not great if you want to do anything on foot. Luckily we had a car with us but it would have been nice to have had just one more restaurant or pub within walking distance as you are literally stuck at the hotel. The hotel is lovely and the staff are great but very little English spoken at the hotel and in fact in the region.
Absolutely lovely place; good and clean rooms, great views and helpfull staff.
Excellent facilites & standard Use of public car park some distance away
Convenience for Airport
Clean and modern room is offered with a reasonable price. There is a free parking space nearby. We ordered quadruple room, but in deed it was a twin room with four beds. There is no extra space - it was impossible even to open the closet door. Quality of the breakfast was not very good.
Casa del Trigo is a nice place to stay in Santa Fe when you have an early flight from Granada. It's in the center of town, so it's easy enough to see all that Santa Fe has to offer. It's not a lot, but there is a SuperSol just across the street.
The breakfast was a bit poor, 10 people has to sit together at the same table...
For a very reasonable price, we got a junior suite with high ceilings, air conditioning, and a comfortable, king-size bed, with street parking just outside the hotel. After a two-week vacation, it was lovely to stay in such a soothing place on our last day, with such easy access to the airport (10 minutes' drive away.) The cantina served us delicious free tapas with our wine as well. No matter how long we let the water run, we couldn't get anything hot to come out of the tap!
Staff were friendly, room was clean & comfortable Would have been nice to have tea & coffee making facilities in the room
Really helpful friendly staff. Good value basic breakfast, just what we needed. We'd strongly recommend this hotel.
the room and flexibility of the ownders It looked unwelcoming because it was the heat of the day and eveything was closed up and the front door curtained across to keep out the sun. Perfectly acceptable but no a good first impression.
the owner was espcially nice and did a special breakfast ( due to dietary need) and called me a taxi to go to the airport. I had assumed , as it was near the airport , there would be many taxis.. which there were not . So if you stay there because you need to be near the airport, they need to book a taxi for you. Not easy to find.. no signs , had to stop and ask at a local bar, as the village was dark and on an road , not well lit/signed.
Authentic spanish residence There was no bar or restaurant. Also there was no breakfast available.
good location for travelling easy access to and from the autovia. Ten minutes taxi ride to city centre. beds had the feeling of a "camp bed" style.
far from centre
Their smartness Everthing is ok
Economic hotel that has a good breakfast (natural orange juice, coffee, bread with butter and fruit jam). Good Wi-Fi coverage. The cleanliness of the room is bad: the bed sheets were dirty and with lots of hairs. The staff had changed them only at the third night, after a second warning. The door of the shower was broken and wasn't fixed during all the stay. The mattress was bigger than the bed: if I reached its border, I would fall from the bed.
The staff was very nice and the hotel has free internet acces in the lobby. The hotel is located above a restaurant. Smoke drifts from the lobby into the rooms. Very uncomfortable at night. Some rooms can be noisey.
Free parking lots not sufficiently available. Our room needs urgently to be renovated. Beds are not very comfortable.
Staff especially two reception guys more than helpful----hotel is clean and fantastic value for money----
it could be more clean.. the room was smelling wall paint
Free internet. Slightly dirty room.
Spotless, big room, tasty breakfast, secure parking, air conditioning. Friendly and helpful front desk. Excellent value for money.
Conveniently located with regular bus connection to Granada. Friendly owner was able to provide neccesary information to ensure I experienced a very pleasant stay. One small niggle, was that due to a machine malfunction I was unable to pay by card and had to settle by cash instead.
Beautiful small hotel with parking and easily accessible by bus (1.10 euro) to Granada. Spotlessly clean with superb inclusive breakfast. Several tapas bars and restaurants in Monachil itself. Nothing
The hotel was simply one of the bests we've ever stayed in. It is a really nice family hotel and the staff did the best to be sure we were having a really nice time. We even got a welcome drink and a farewell present, as well. There was beautiful furniture everywhere and a nice scent in the common rooms. The parking fascilities were also excellent. There is also a nice terrace from where You can see the Sierra Nevada mountains. I'd like to recommend the place to everyone, it is a masterpiece! Congratulations to staff, especially to Carolina!!! Absolutely nothing!! Everything is perfect!
Alicia is a most gracious hostess who welcomed us after a grueling drive with peach nectar and her homemade orange cake to her peaceful oasis in Monachil. Our room was large, as was the bathroom, and there was a hearty breakfast. We initially thought it a little further from the city than we would have liked – especially after the GPS got us lost trying to find it – but the inconvenience of being out of town is more than compensated for in value for money and hospitality. For travelers without a car, there is a bus virtually outside the gate. It would have been ideal to be a little closer to the city centre.
Excellent friendly staff, very clean and attractive accommodation, close to Granada.
We went up to Sierra Nevada national Park, Alhambra Palace in Granada, and we drove around Alpujarras, all was great to see and experience. The owners of the hotel could not do enough for you they were lovely.
Welcoming reception, home-made cakes, relaxing rooms with excellent views and on bus route to city. More drawer space would be good but not essential.
staff directions to hotel were incorrect
Excellent hotel with very friendly staff. We had a large room with lovely mountain views. Need a full length mirror in the room.
