Pros: Erik was possibly the world’s warmest and accommodating host. Genuinely treated us like family. We wished we could have stayed longer and would 100% recommend anyone to book here if you want a well designed and tranquil place with a lovely host and game land views of animals with a beautiful sunrise. Thanks so much!
Pros: This was an exceptional treat, with a homely atmosphere and attention to detail. A very pleasant experience, exceeding any expectations..... Highly recommended!
Cons: We should have stayed longer!
Pros: Yes, the bed and bedding was good
Cons: The bats making noise in the roof. My wife was desturbed
Pros: We had an exceptional warm welcome at our arrival; it didn't stop there but only got better with the most wonderful traditional Karoo dinner and beautifully decorated room. The fresh Karoo air and breakfast the next morning enhanced our stay and was definitely the perfect way to start off our honeymoon!
Cons: Everything was great, with very friendly service!
Pros: Very quiet place. Beautiful views. Very clean.
Cons: No telephone connection possible. Low water pressure. Staff not living at the premise.
Pros: Facility clean and neat. Food is good and staff is tops.
Pros: The guesthouse is belonging to a family thats main business is trophy hunting and you are actually living on a trophy hunting farm! The bedroom is nice and comfy and the staff wonderful. Minus is that The living room and kitchen area is full of “trophy’s”! If we knew we were supporting a trophy hunting farm with our stay we would never have come here.
Cons: That you are actually supporting a trophy hunting farm with your stay at this guesthouse without knowing it. We couldn’t give a better rate for facilities and comfortable because of this reason.
Pros: Loved the farmstyle,, nature and the friendlyness. Also seeing the kudu lamb being botte fed was amazing as well as the hearty unexpected soup and milktart dinner on the house !! Erik was superb !!! We were upgraded to the farmhouse unit with no charge !
Cons: Not applicable

Pros: Excellent view!
Cons: It’s not closer to Pretoria
Pros: Everything was perfect and house was clean , breakfast and supper on time, owner was sooo friendly wooow Mr.David thank you so much . I loved my room mostly,so big and clean.it will definitely visit again. quite place indeed
Pros: A lot of historic information by the owner. And other friendly personnel as well!
Pros: Owner - very helpfull Big room Great view
Cons: Geyser was not turned on - no hot water No food on arrival - had to make special arrangements No staff on site - was left alone in very big house No lounge for viewing TV - only bar area with fair seating Very average breakfast
Pros: Beautiful setting, peaceful garden overlooking the lake. Homestead kind of feel: the double room with private bathroom is HUGE!! Breakfast was very good, prepared and served by Murray, a very congenial host. A great place to break up a road trip between Capetown (or Port Elizabeth) and Johannesburg, or perfect for a restful holiday.
Cons: A bit of a mix-up with our late arrival - solved eventually.
Pros: Breakfast & rooms
Pros: The place was a little isolated and the building a little old but it was peaceful and it was spotlessly clean, the view over the lake was great, the staff friendly helpful and knowledgable
Pros: The best hosts! Thank you for a lovely weekend.
Pros: Personal contact was great the owner made a great breakfast and it felt like home
Cons: I liked it all
Located in Gariep, Siloam Village is a 1-minute drive from Orange–Fish River Tunnel and 7 minutes from Oviston Nature Reserve. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The theme of the place is very special. Very neat and friendly.
Pros: The warm welcome though we arrived very late, still we were awaited, the room and the atmosphere was really welcoming
Cons: TV in the room
Pros: Friendly staff but location way off the main roads, directions were not clear so we got lost and the "chalet" featured is actually the security office at the entrance plus the facility is not in a nature reserve as one is led to believe by the pictures on the site.
Cons: A decent map closer stores and distance to main roads. Price was a bit heavybfor "basic back packets"
Pros: It was perfectly rustic, loved the use of wood and The village concept. Loved the tub
Cons: The shower area is too small and the shower wall color reduces confidence of whether it is rust or painting.
Pros: No fuss accommodation in a compound. Good, casual stop-over spot in Oviston for self-catering (you can opt-in to braai).
Pros: Absolutely unique. This place stands out amongst your usual stop overs and is definitely the result of a labour of love. Amenities are clean and everything you need is provided for.
Cons: Unfortunately they situated in a sma town in Gariep so there are no resturants, takeaways or such. Just a small spaza style shop across the road with the bare basics.
Pros: Mathew is a very helpful young lad. He did what he could to help us
Cons: We booked 5 bedrooms only 4 provided No windows at all in one bedroom. Miniscule kitchen, no lounge, no view. Ceiling fans didn't work, a lot of fused Globes, no cupboard space and no hooks bar 1 in the bathroom. An overall disaster of what was planned as a magical family reunion. I would reckon the biggest misrepresentation I have ever experienced.
Pros: Beautiful little "village" created with love by the owners with lots of attention to detail. Very welcoming, clean, comfortable and everything you need is available.
Cons: The location doesn't have any local shops or resturants etc. You need to ensure you have everything with you. There also isnt much to do at the lodge as it doesn't connect to the dam, we only used it as a pass through when travelling down to PE (highly recommended as a halfway stop)
