The room was a very good size and so were the on suite facilities.friendliness of all staff was good The bedroom carpet needed to be cleaned or changed
I enjoyed the spacious room and large bathroom. It was very romantic and warm.
Breakfast - Room was of a reasonable size Reception - appeared 'phased' by situation including dog which property's web-site said were welcomed at no extra charge and this was found not to be the case! Room, although reasonably contemporary was beginning to suffer from the usual British disease of lack of maintenance and care!
Friendly helpfull staff. Good food. Parking could be a problem.
A very good location in the park area. the food was excellent and the staff where very helpful. No would use this hotel again.
Property in very good condition & clean Book a double room online, on arrival find that there was only a twin available
Within walking distance to the venue where our function was. We were told that the room was one of their luxury rooms, not sure where that idea came frrom. Carpets up the stairs and in the room were very dirty, room size ok, old sash window that was permanately open, mind you it was so very hot and stuffy in the room all night that we would not have wanted in closed. Room passable certainly not luxury!
Most importantly the duty manager was an absolute star! She made really all effort to make us welcome and was very efficient indeed! A service with a smile and personal touch that you can not find very often anymore. The room was excellent apart from our little problem in the night everything was brilliant. Plumbing! The radiator in the bathroom was banging all night which limited our sleep to a couple of hours max and unfortunately marked an otherwise superb stay down.
The decor; comfortable bed A smell of smoke permeating from the bar beneath the room.
Room was very nice good size & very friendly staff I think it was a bit over priced £90.00 seems a bit expencive for a pub. Breakfast the fresh cooked was good but continental a tad tight hardlt anything.
Very pleasant overnight stay. Very olde worlde!
Friendly staff; good breakfast A hair-dryer would have been useful!
the communal areas the bedroom was poorly finished- also address did not include village so real trouble finding it
Beakfast was fine, thank you The room was not very clean. Shower was not adequate No little extras like toiletries although clean towels daily was welcomed
the room overlooked the carpark, no other veiw noticeable
general condition was run down bar/eating area better. Room was very shabby and not 100% clean nut shells on floor next to bed and under it giant dust bunnies!! No at all like pictured. If I could have I would have gone somewhere else to stay.
It has Character, staff helpful and serves very good food Some areas getting tired and in need of some serious makeover and maintenance. The line between quaint and needing attention can be a fine one in a character hotel with a very old building but some items have passed that line.
Easy to find - friendly staff We couldn't use the bar as the whole place was booked for a private function when we arrived
Nothingg really stands out Nothing stands out
the comfortable room - we were attending a wedding, so did not discover the full facilities, as we were meeting up with Family on Sunday morning
Great breakfast-was worried about partner's reaction to a "continental" breakfast- he is still going on about how good it was. Parking plenty of it and close to accomodation. Nice rooms and breakfast area. Convenient position, easy to find, lots to do/see nearby in a lovely area None
Quiet room, good breakfast and the old pub, which forms part of the hotel.
Our stay at the Camden Arms was excellent. We can not fault it in any way.The staff were very professional and yet very friendly and welcoming. The room we had was beautiful. N/A
Nice sized room, with good facilities.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Did not spend enough time there!
Although we arrived late in the day after a wedding, the room was very comfortable and homely.
My room was clean and tidy with a modern ensuite and the usuals TV, good hairdryer etc. The breakfast was good and the laid out nicely. I ate in the pub during the evening, the food was good and as expected
Clean, friendly, lively hotel, but very traditional feel too. The staff were outstanding - we arrived late on Saturday evening after the kitchen had closed, but even without us asking, they offered to provide sandwiches and tea or coffee. The room, although small, was beautifully appointed with luxury touches. We were there for an event at a local castle, but hope to go back next year for a longer stay when we will use the hotel as a base to explore local stately homes and the countryside. Highly recommended. Very minor - it was a shame that the shower was not as strong as it could have been. Nothing else!
Staff friendly and helpful, room clean and comfortable and quiet. Bathroom had shower but not bath. Ate at the restaurant and food was good. Buffet breakfast fine. In all no complaints and seemed pretty good value to me. The only downside to the hotel is that you are outside of tunbridge wells here so need to drive in and out.
Nice quiet clean room away from the road. Plenty of car parking Very popular at lunchtime suggested they are doing something right. Disappointingly small room, very dim lights in the bathroom, bed sagged in the middle, too soft for us, not a good nights sleep. Strange 'modern but baronial tudor' furniture in a newly built room.
Very friendly service. Room was of a good standard, very comfortable and quiet. Good night's sleep!
The rooms were very comfortable and clean, with nice fresh linen, plenty of tea and coffee, and a kettle for us to use. The hotel was nice and quiet at night, Cosy bar area and good food. They were a little understaffed, presumably because we went out of season. We often had to wait a while at the bar or reception or go looking for someone.
Friendly, polite and helpful staff. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable.
comfortable and friendly- especially in the snow!!! although I had a non- smoking room as requseted it was next to a smoking room which I could smell quite badly-perhaps there could be non smoking rooms in a block together?
One of the better hotels I have stayed in, in the UK. A bit understaffed though
It was peaceful and relaxing.
The food, the service & the real ale
quiet and beautiful setting
relaxing easy atmosphere. Comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. Best find yet!
Quiet, with friendly staff. It's a bit shabby and could do with redecorating. Wallpaper peeling in the dining room.
the four poster bed the dumplings at the meal...game casserole and dumplings not good, the tv was not very good, only one channel found with good picture.
Comfortable, Quiet, Good Food - excellent.
The restaurant food was really lovely though pretty pricey! The room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. One of the drinking glasses in the room was filthy, not a big deal but pretty unpleasant when I picked it up to use it. The room had no bath, only a shower.
After a long journey, the friendly, relaxed welcome was just what we needed. Breakfast set us up for the next day - right through to teatime!
quality of customer service 5* main restarant prices were high
The staff were mostly very friendly Although the cottage was very nice, we were expecting a superior room with a kingsize bed and bathrobes etc. As it was cold , the heating could have been on when for when we booked in. It was freezing! We wanted to eat in the restaurant but were told it was for restaurant meals only and we wanted bar food. I felt it should have been allowed as we were paying guests. We did state this.
The place was fantastic, the food was some of the best i have experienced in London in the past 20 years and the staff was very helpful in our stay and getting around London. None at all - this place is a must for people coming to that area.
The comfort of the room and helpfullness of the staff Meal in restaurant was a bit pricey
The room was perfect. The staff at the morning breakfast was really friendly and gentle. I really appreciated my short stay. I will surely book it again. It's not really within easy reach from the station if you are travelling by train.
The food was fantastic. Perphaps a little more than we would normally pay but the cooking and flavour was an experience to be highly recommended. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and our room was nice and quiet. Perphaps the beds were not as comfortable as our own - but maybe that is an age thing..
Well located the village was very interesting, lots of interesting if very expensive shops.Very good dinner in hotel
One of the best breakfasts that I have had at a hotel or B&B Room decoration was a little 'tired'
Attractive rooms, nice friendly staff, good food and beautiful surrounding countryside. The bed mattress was a little uncomfortable
Our room was quite dark with no main light. A bulb had also gone in the ensuite which resulted in a dark bathroom. The decor could do with a freshen up as walls skirtings and window frames all showed signs of tiredness.
The friendly staff
Good central location in the town. Very good on-site parking. We felt very safe. Good bit of general wear and tear; peeling wallpaper, broken and detached bathroom tiles, rotting window sills. Price may have been fair for the location but certainly more than I would expect to pay for the general condition of the place.
location and parking I have now stayed in four English Inns and they vary in service.I had to take my luggage up two flights of stairs no assistance was offered. The remote did not work.No heating in the morning so it was very cold. This hotel is o.k. if you get a cheap deal but not full price.
Friendly atmosphere Bar shuts at 11pm on Sat! Also no high chairs for children
Young staff at breakfast service were delightful The Hotel was a disgrace and I was ashamed for England and I have sent a letter of complaint to your customer service - Old English Inns Head Office @Bury St Edmunds. This hotel is idealy situated in a beautiful Village in the Garden of Kent and would posibly have many visitors from Chartwell and Hever Castle and it was sad - paintwork shabby, ceiling paper falling down, carpets and curtains were grubby, furniture chipped and dusty etc etc. Also no security at all after 11pm - you have to go round the back door entrance, dimly lit and let yourself in, inside badly lit and no directions to main reception area or staircase. I found this so sad and would never stay there again - after living in Kent for over 20 years - I would never recommend it either to anbody and also I found the Saturday morning reception area rather off putting, as a dog was also there to greet me, office area was very scruffy and untidy - I could go on but have not enough time.
The staff were nice and friendly & service for breakfast good. There was no one on reception and at one point had problem getting one of our group into room, but luckily one other persons key fit, so could have done with someone on reception to save headache.
