Excellent service and facilities None
Great quality alround None at all
friendly helpful staff. had deluxe room which exceeded expectations. buffet breakfast could've been better; not very hot, rubbery eggs, hard croissants and had to ask for more hot water for teapot as only enough for 1 and a half cups between us.
My friends and I stayed at Hilton Maidstone as it is half way between our homes. It suited our needs perfectly and was very comfortable. It was close enough to town to leave our cars there and get a cab into town. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, unfortunately, they cannot cope when the hotel is full, so unless you go early, you will have to queue. The reception staff, are poor, our rooms were not available until 4.30, and sadly that was after a lot of complaining.
The staff were very friendly and helpful when asked for assistance. Restaurant food was high quality with a good selection.
The stay was good until 9am, no water, therefore could not shower. After breakfast there was no toilet facilities, that was horrendous because all toilets were blocked by then. The hygeine was nil. I would expect some compensation for this depolrable inconvenience.
I enjoy your swimming pool very much - one of the best around. I phoned reception many times on the Friday evening to request a taxi but your colleagues did not answer and so I was late for my appointment. The following morning I again phoned reception and again they did not answer.
Nice Room! Nothing at all. Great hotel.
The standard of service was of the highest level. Made to feel a valued guest.
it was quiet and convenient car parking
The warmth and friendliness Not really
Decent sized bedroom and excellent bathroom N/A
Staff were very good and attentive Overall, hotel was fine but felt a bit "dated"
Fantastic room - huge and luxurious.
Wonderful hotel great food and service.
Quiet with plenty of staff on hand, most of whom made you welcome. Bar closed at odd times, like 2/30 on Friday afternoon, just as I arrived and wanted to relax with the paper and a glass of wine.
Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and the staff on the reception desk were extremely efficient. I wish we had stayed longer!!
Comfortable. Friendly The Restaurant could be better both for Breakfast and Dinner. The Orangery/Bar/Lounge menu and food were better and better value
The long time at the check out in the morning. A four star hotel should have teo reception staff at this busy period. Also it is a long way to the bottom car park with your luggage.
Stayed overnight as we had a Party near by to attend The air con was broken in one of our rooms on the hotest day and we were given a fan
the whole stay was really fanstatic and relaxing, the staff was all very nice only one prob booked breakfast through this site and it wasnt forwarded to the hotel but as soon as i showed my copy of booking they allowed it, but it was this site that hadnt told them
The whole experiance was very good The only bad ponit was that 2 or 3 things on the late menu where not avalible
The friendly staff, cleanliness of rooms and the variety of foods.
The room was quite small but adequate with the beds very comfortable and all fittings ,bathroom etc. up to normal Marriot standards.Restaurant food and service was very good.
We did not find this the usual standard of Marriott Hotels. Restaurant for dinner is not recommended.
we stayed there to attend a family wedding, - immaculate room only thing was going into breakfast at 9.30 we felt the staff were not too interested and rushing to get the room ready for lunch
Evening meal was nice but very expensive! The hotel booking was a joke, room was not what we booked, moved rooms, they couldnt find our luggage, spa pool was not working, breakfast choice was very limited, they took our breakfast plates from under our noses at exactly 11am when breakfast finished, we had to ask for our plates back. When we checked out they added items to our bill that we had not had from the minibar, even after I told them exactly what we had. The long weekend was like a prison sentence
Well set out - rooms are comfortable - easy parking Internet didnt work - aircon unit in room was broken - check out took an age (one staff member only on reception)
I was very impressed with the help I received as I am blind and found staff extrememly helpfull I found that my room card had not been programed properly and I accidentally was able to open somebody elses room as well as mine
everything was fine /clean and tidy
Lovely looking hotel from the outside and in a peaceful location. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was tasty. Staff seemed mostly miserable and only begrudgingly helpful, except for one member of the housekeeping team, who was exceptionally friendly, helpful and polite. For example, there was no explanation at check-in of the breakfast arrangements, and upon calling to find out and making my way to the sparsely populated dining area, not one member of staff approached me to offer me a table, drink or mention that it was a buffet service. Great customer service, guys. The bedroom was lovely at first sight, if cheaply equipped, but the double bed was a couple of bolted together singles and consequently had an uncomfortable solid ridge down the middle, the frankenstein-esque beds also creaked like they were going to fall apart at any second which really limited the athleticism of our sexual escapades. The walls were paper thin, which meant that our German neighbours (we could hear them talking) in the adjoining room probably got very little sleep between the creaking of our siamese-twin beds and the fact that my girlfriend snores like a dying walrus. Oh, and the room was also loving placed right underneath a spotlight which was mostly unpleasant, except for the fact it made me feel like I had finally made my West End debut... All night. Seriously, if you want to stay somewhere in the £70-£90 bracket go to a nice B&B or a Travelodge, rather than risk disappointment in Oakwood House.
quiet late breakfast
Clean, modern and comfortable room - great shower. Not really a conventional hotel - a conference centre. Dining room lacking in ambience.
It was more like an educational establishment than a hotel. In the bar, men were sitting around at tables with drinks, and working with lap top comuters. One bloke was on his mobile phone all through breakfast.
The room was very comfortable with a contemporary feel. Oakwood House does not have the atmosphere of a 'Hotel'. It is essentially a conference centre with very good accomodation.
the price was very god for the room the room was cold they said there was problems with the heating but no heat at night when working in the room
Very fresh and nice room. Very hard to find the hotel (in the middle of a University area) Feeling of beeing in the middle of a conference during breakfast. Breakfast was ok but not perfect.
The young girl and the kitchen staff were very helpfull and are to be commended.
Very good value for money could be difficult to find, due to its location
The room was very nice. The food was not great, only 3 main meals on the menu.
The room was of an excellent standard and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Friendliness of staff Poor quality of the function food especially the main course
Excellent tv / internet An improvement would be air conditioning
There isn't anything I can really say... Din't have WI-FI in the room.
Whilst typical of so many modern hotels, this one has some helpful and friendly staff and it is in a convenient and pleasant location. The hotel only offers double rooms suitable for disabled guests - I would have preferred a twin room.
Rooms nice but a little on the small side for the money. Room clean. Breakfast good. Very hot heating! Shower curtain had been doubled up and was going mouldy / smelly inside it.
The grounds were nice. The food and drinks were way overpriced, and on the first day the bar had run out of Rose and Vodka!
staff very good Hotel being revamped but is very jaded
,nice leisure facilities, lovely setting and grounds distance from lift to room ,
It is located right next to Leeds Castle, which is why we stayed there. It's a bit out of date and unloved. It could be better with some upgrading and cleaning up. 4 Stars? Only on paper!
Room was clean and comfortable, staff were polite and helpful, bar meal selection was more than ample and well presented, all in all a pleasant stay
It's conveniently placed with plenty of parking and easy access. The restaurant is pleasant enough. The cost of food, 10.95 for a burger and 3.40 for chips is a bit excessive.
the evening meal was excellant value for money and restaurant staff very nice reception staff a bit offhand
a very pleasant stay- made a working weekend much more enjoyable.we made use of the pool -wonderful. would have liked pool to be open earlier on saturday!
gym and pool excellent restaurant service, no pay movies
hotel was well looked after, rooms and beds very comfortable. Excellent facilities. Will stay in the hotel again. Excellent value for money.
The restaurant and leisure facilities
Starbucks Not overly impressed, have stayed in better hotels for the price, Towels could do with being replaced
Staff, location, ease of use, quick check-in &out. Shampoo/body wash in shower. Bit basic for a 4* hotel , bathroom floor could have been cleaner.
Food in the restaurant was excellent
We have stayed at several Hotel Du Vin's throughtout the country because of the ambience and the boutique nature. We enjoyed our stay immensley but would only comment that for £145 a night (4 nights stay)that breakfast would be included.
Courteous and efficient staff despite the Hotel being very busy the evening i arrived. Though the room was bijioux it contained everything required for an over night stay. Lovely view of the gardens. Both The evening meal & breakfast were excellent.
Nice ambience & good food Room was musty and pokey - shower did not drain.I rang reception and the bistro for 5 mins each to order room service - at 9:30pm and no-one picked up
We came down for my daughers's 21st Birthday. She had always wanted to visit Hever Castle and as it was a special occasion I wanted to book us into somewhere a little special. We loved the restaurant and food and the decor. Sadly we weren't able to stay for very long, but would definitely recommend it
Comfort and the feel of luxuriousness. Many great details. Difficult to find parking.
Restaurant was good. All staff helpful There needs to be a lift to the 1st floor.
Upgraded room Bar and seating area very basic and open - seemed more like part of entrance and reception area.
Friendly staff Breakfast Room staff not very efficient in maintaining food at the buffet nor for delivering toast to the table.
helpful staff, enjoyed the swimming pool
the pool, the food, the location...good local bus service. Comfortable beds.
Quiet location Problem with internet service in room. Had to change rooms. Staff dealt with this very well.
peaceful room #102
On our arrival, reception did not have a record of our on line booking but efficiently dealt with the matter. The Breakfast Manager on Sunday was particularly friendly. It looked very much as it did when we stayed there 10 or 11 years ago and whilst clean was a bit tired and dated.
bar and dining room staff were excellent
Use of the swimming pool and spa facilities - good opening hours. Excellent customer service.
Location Could not get a drink 10.15pm 30th Dec? (Towels up)? No food New Years day (Breakfast) although guests were staying at the Hotel! No-one told. Limited food bar area. Very noisy rooms. Pets allowed to stay in rooms although told Pets not allowed. Carpets very dirty. Guests rooms wall very thin. Could hear everything through walls? Next doors toilet backed onto our Bedhead? The lady may as well have been in the same room, very embarressing. Hotel very tired and needs a total revamp. Given its location (on marina) Sheperd & Neame needs to splash the cash!! and soon.
location , location , location
The quiet. The helpfulness of the waitress at breakfast. No answer to phone calls. No night porter.
friendly staff, good food at reasonable prices, real ales. rooms were very hot, so, some better form of air conditioning would be good, secure parking as we were on motorbikes.
It was very close to local amenities and staff and hotel were very good As it was New Year Weekend both fish dishes on menu were not available on both nights we dined there. As a non meat eater this left me with limited choice
Overall stay was very good and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had no blind up in the bathroom and mentioned it to one of the staff in the bar in the evening and it was dealt with the following day. Very good location for visiting family in Chatham and local amenities.
The bedrooms were comfortable and the decor had an interesting nautical theme. Don't be put off by the look of the exterior; it's much nicer inside. The lighting in the bedroom was very dim and the room was cold. Breakfast service was slow on the Sunday morning.
The location, friendly staff, being above the pub, the breakfast, design of room, view from room and restaurant, ease of booking online, checking in and out.
Friendly, helpful staff. Offered smoking room but now have none.
Situation good. It was a very busy pub not a hotel. Restaurant quality and selection fair. Reception desk was anyone one could get hold of behind the bar which was heaving!!!
Friendly and very helpful people. food good at a fair rate.
excellent accomodation, food superb, excellent sevice
We both loved the fact it was secluded and as we got to the room the rooms themselves we can only descibe as being like attached Bungalows and as we went in the design of the room was spot on all the facilities you need but at the same time nice and spacious. The staff in the restuarant and the Hotel reception were very friendly welcoming and attentive. All in all the night from start to finish was superb. Nothing at all staff and the Inn alike were faultless
Good rural setting. Generous car parking
The personal interest shown to us- great great - we've stayed before and, will book again (directly) and, recommned it to our friends. For me only one thing, no smoking enclosure. So, brrrr cold for a girl from South Africa!
We were warmly greeted and directed to our room, which was down an extremely steep slope. The room was clean, comfortable and modern although, very dimly lit.The sheets were a dull cream in colour, which tended to make them look grubby white. The bathroom was modern and generally clean apart from under the rim of the toilet. a nice touch was a cafetiere with ground coffee amongst the usual hot drink facilities. The restaurant was definitely gourmet with a wide selection of starters, mains & desserts accompanied by a good choice of wines. We enjoyed two fantastic evening meals. Breakfast was delicious:fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurts, toast and a full English. Staff were most accommodating & very friendly. The slope down to the rooms was hazardous. a ground frost made it quite icy in parts.WINTER Would be lethal! On the first two nights the food was outstanding although on our last night my steak was cold. I sent it back with minimal fuss. However, by the time it was returned to me, my partner had finished her meal. The steak was hot, but could no longer be described as "medium" and the accompanying asparagus & dauphinoise potatoes were dried out and I left most ot this meal. I am easily embarrassed & did not want to make a fuss, but did question why it was still on the bill. I was given £6.50 reduction, but still charged £13.50 for the main meal I did not eat- this spoilt our last night & I felt that I had been overcharged.
comfortable and quite.
Food was excellent & reasonably priced & rooms were clean, tidy & homely Thought the mattress in my room was quite hard & unforgiving but apart from that enjoyed the stay
The friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food the hot breakfast came before we had finished our cereal
The restaurant was excellent! Will visit again.
Nice sized room, with good facilities.
Quiet room, good breakfast and the old pub, which forms part of the hotel.
Nice quiet clean room away from the road. Plenty of car parking Very popular at lunchtime suggested they are doing something right. Disappointingly small room, very dim lights in the bathroom, bed sagged in the middle, too soft for us, not a good nights sleep. Strange 'modern but baronial tudor' furniture in a newly built room.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Did not spend enough time there!
Although we arrived late in the day after a wedding, the room was very comfortable and homely.
Our stay at the Camden Arms was excellent. We can not fault it in any way.The staff were very professional and yet very friendly and welcoming. The room we had was beautiful. N/A
My room was clean and tidy with a modern ensuite and the usuals TV, good hairdryer etc. The breakfast was good and the laid out nicely. I ate in the pub during the evening, the food was good and as expected
Great breakfast-was worried about partner's reaction to a "continental" breakfast- he is still going on about how good it was. Parking plenty of it and close to accomodation. Nice rooms and breakfast area. Convenient position, easy to find, lots to do/see nearby in a lovely area None
Staff friendly and helpful, room clean and comfortable and quiet. Bathroom had shower but not bath. Ate at the restaurant and food was good. Buffet breakfast fine. In all no complaints and seemed pretty good value to me. The only downside to the hotel is that you are outside of tunbridge wells here so need to drive in and out.
Clean, friendly, lively hotel, but very traditional feel too. The staff were outstanding - we arrived late on Saturday evening after the kitchen had closed, but even without us asking, they offered to provide sandwiches and tea or coffee. The room, although small, was beautifully appointed with luxury touches. We were there for an event at a local castle, but hope to go back next year for a longer stay when we will use the hotel as a base to explore local stately homes and the countryside. Highly recommended. Very minor - it was a shame that the shower was not as strong as it could have been. Nothing else!
Spacious rooms decorated in a simple, modern and uncluttered style - furniture was solid and decent quality. Large bathroom with well equipped stand-alone shower and large bath. Room was light and airy with none of the shabbiness so often associated with british hotels. Had been concerned that noise from restaurant/bar would be an issue. But room was well insulated from this - so much so that we were very surprised when we went down to the bar to find it already very busy with people having dinner. Food served (we had dinner, not breakfast) was great. Nice outside seating that can be enjoyed in the summer. A little more information (signage) on arrival as to where to check in would have been helpful (particularly if bar area is busy).
Third visit in a short space of time - doesn't disappoint
well decorated, clean, new furniture. large room.
Lovely room and en-suite faciliteis
We love Carpenters because it is has a relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, super bedrooms and wonderful food. We did have a problem on the Saturday night when someone who had obviously had too much to drink was able to climb up onto the flat roof/ledge outside our window. This made me rather nervous as there are no phones in the rooms and I think therefore that security needs looking at.Everything else here is so good.
Room was superb. None . one minor point .no telephone in room .but with mobiles who needs one.
friendy staff and comfort and cleanliness of the room
The food was excellent, the Aussie wine was rubbish The Aussie wine was rubbish and they wouldn't change it.
Small, friendly pub offering accommodation. Same price as the "big chains" but offering a much more personalised service. Room was comfortable and modern with great shower. Breakfast was excellent. Just a little thing really had lovely shower gel and body lotion, but didn't have shampoo and conditioner.
The room was clean, staff generally helpful, breakfast good. Well organised It was rooms above a pub, and I did feel that. On arrival, we were to some extent left to our own devices. A little bit more of a welcome and support in the first 30 mins would do wonders.
The room was very small and basic, and in need of refurbishment
convenient access, good car parking hunt for reception staff for 08h00 checkout on Sunday morning
Convenient location for travel to business meeting next day
Nothing Tv stopped working, told us that an engineer would arrive on Monday, little point as we left on Sunday. No exchange arranged. Long narrow hole in Bathroom floor by bath. Very dated.
The room is very good for a price and the staff is very kind. Hotel parking lot is very huge so it is alway possilbe to park the car any time of year. The hotel restaurant is very bad. One night I ordered my food in restaurant on ground floor, the bar people made our food because there isn't chef.
Clean and comfortable room. Adequate amount of clean towels every day. Approachable and friendly staff. There wasn't anything I didn't like.
the room and reception the evening meal
Comfortable, clean, spacious room, decent breakfast...excellent value for money.
Nice hotel in general Bathroom very poor, flooring had chips and dirty, requires decorating!! Bed only a double and very hard
The restaurant was beautiful and the food excellent The staff in the restaurant did not understand our order and confused yhe meal twice!
general condition was run down bar/eating area better. Room was very shabby and not 100% clean nut shells on floor next to bed and under it giant dust bunnies!! No at all like pictured. If I could have I would have gone somewhere else to stay.
the room overlooked the carpark, no other veiw noticeable
Easy to find - friendly staff We couldn't use the bar as the whole place was booked for a private function when we arrived
It has Character, staff helpful and serves very good food Some areas getting tired and in need of some serious makeover and maintenance. The line between quaint and needing attention can be a fine one in a character hotel with a very old building but some items have passed that line.
Friendly staff; good breakfast A hair-dryer would have been useful!
Very pleasant overnight stay. Very olde worlde!
Nothingg really stands out Nothing stands out
the comfortable room - we were attending a wedding, so did not discover the full facilities, as we were meeting up with Family on Sunday morning
the communal areas the bedroom was poorly finished- also address did not include village so real trouble finding it
Beakfast was fine, thank you The room was not very clean. Shower was not adequate No little extras like toiletries although clean towels daily was welcomed
Easy access to town centre Look forward to the 1st july in bar area
Friendly staff & helpfull staff
The rooms looked dated. The room booked was stated as overlooking the common - the room overlooked a car park and another building not the common.
Friendly atmosphere, comfortable and spacious room. Ideally located, close to all ammenities. We would prefer room only as do not eat a large breakfast, preferring a coffeee start..
Friendly staff, good restaurant and service . Good location for town centre. Comfortable, at home, feeling.
Hotel decor was good & everyone was friendly & helpful. No
Breakfast was lovely and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We booked a triple room expecting a double and a single bed, we got a double and a camp bed. It was a little small for an adult.
Friendly staff Shower needed repairing
Efficient lift. Pleasant staff. Comfortable bed. Clean. Difficult to use toilet flush. Sink stopper unhygenic system. Table or shelf needed to boil kettle and place cups etc. Difficult access to coat hangers
Spacious double room for single occupancy, excellent restaurant and service with friendly efficiient staff. Highly recommended
Nice, spacious, relatively luxurious bed and breakfast Very nice restaurant Nice location, in the middle of rural Kent though still 20-25 minutes from Maidstone Not really geared for business travellers. Breakfast is after 0930! You are offered continental breakfast in your room if you have to leave before 0930. Not easy to find, especially late at night, when my mobile sat nav stopped working as there was no reception and there was no single soul awake to ask for instructions. I suggested to the owner to alert future customers at time of confirmation of booking, with emphatic fonts e.g. capitals or bold that this may be the case, so to make alternative preparations e.g. print the map or download off line map. Do not take me wrong, overall it is a nice B&B with some very fancy rooms. Very nice for a romantic weekend/getaway!
