Surf Side is a boutique hotel overlooking Bermuda’s famous clear ocean waters and pink sand beaches. This one-of-a-kind hideaway is the ideal choice for a memorable trip to Bermuda. If you are planning a relaxing getaway, romantic retreat, family reunion, or destination wedding, then look no further.
We look forward to welcoming you to our unique property, perched high on the top of a cliff in Warwick, on Bermuda’s south side. When you arrive at the hotel, you will be greeted by our friendly staff, the fresh sea air, and a panoramic view of the fabulous expanse of ocean just beyond the hotel grounds.
You can enjoy the charm and natural beauty of Surf Side from any of our 37 rooms; we offer a wide variety for you to choose from, including deluxe rooms, spacious suites, standalone cottages, and penthouses. No matter which room you select, you will have a private balcony or patio and a spectacular ocean view.
All of our rooms also include kitchen facilities (you can select a room with a full or partial kitchen), giving you the freedom to dine-in at your leisure – a healthy and cost-effective alternative to eating out at every meal. Should you decide to self-cater, our staff will gladly stock your room with groceries in advance of your arrival – you can also walk to the local market any time, it’s just a few minutes away.
You can continue to enjoy the magnificent ocean view as you relax at our swimming pool, or you can walk down to the private beach of beautiful pink sand for swimming and snorkeling. Once you feel fully relaxed and refreshed, why not head out to explore the shopping and dining of Bermuda’s charming capital city, Hamilton (just three miles away and easy to reach by taxi or the local bus service which stops at the hotel driveway). If you prefer to drive yourself, we can also help you rent a scooter to explore the island at your leisure.
Need to stay connected? Wi-Fi access is available at designated locations on the property; there is also a computer with internet access in the reception area dedicated to guest usage.
Our experienced staff prides themselves in going the extra mile to ensure that every guest has a wonderful stay. Many of our guests return to Surf Side each year to relax and soak up more of the property’s natural beauty and peaceful setting. We look forward to welcoming you too – now and every time you decide to come back.
BEAUTIFUL view! Hotel is run down with broken screens in bathroom window. Front desk people very nice and great that they are locals, however, never in the 3 nights could they make change for us. I would pay for bus tokens with a $10 but in a few hours they wouldn't have the $10 as change anymore. No printer in the hotel to print out boarding passes. The beach is a 20 minute walk away on roads that don't have a walking path or sidewalk. (Can you see the drivers complaining about the pedestrians in the road?) There isn't a restaurant or gym.
Nice room ,Nice price! Had a scooter so we enjoyed the whole Island.
We have stayed in the Surf Side Beach Club for about three time during the Summer. Here are some of the reasons we have been returning to Surf Side: reasonable cost, private bed, pull out sofa for my two daughters, a kitchen to prepare our meals, out side patio with a picturesque view of the ocean. Moreover, Surf Side has a calming effect on my nervous system, so I just sit and commune with the beautiful Bermudian birds and flowers. The aforementioned earthly environment is a heavenly place for the most troubled soul. However, if a traveler make the smallest effort, she/he will transported you to the pearly gates of the Creator. Lastly, Surf Side rests on the point of possibility where I can promise all quests will be transformed into earthly angel.
Overall good experience. This is a basic hotel with not a lot of ammenities. If you like something off the beatin path this is your place.
It's the time, we have stayed at Surf Side Beach Club. we have always been treated well by the whole staff. Surf is close the public bus service, other beaches, restaurants, and stores. However, my Bermudian friend wants us to stay closer to her and family in Sandy. Therefore, I will do some research of other places at the same cost closer to Sandy. Lastly, I did notice that some of the outside furniture table legs need to be replaced, air conditioner covers need to be replaced, and the swimming pool bottom need some repairs. P.S. I always forget to ask if there is an exercise room on the Surf Side property.
My wife and I just returned from Surf Side Beach Resort (May 2011). This marked our second stay at Surf Side in the last 6 years. We like Surf Side but there are a couple of points you should be aware of: there is no beach and apparently, there has not been one since we last visited. Six years ago, we were told the beach loss was temporary, but this is not so. Also, the restaurant (which we used and liked 6 years ago) is no longer in operation and the staff said there are no plans to re-open it although it is available for an outside operator. The location is good (near Elbow Beach Hotel) and the accommodations are good (this is not a luxury hotel), the staff is polite and the grounds are clean and well landscaped. There is a very slight amount of deferred maintenance - but the environment may explain this. The rooms are comfortable - tile floors, concrete block construction, dated but acceptable decor. The pool is smallish but very nice. The hotel is not crowded - which we like. Summary: if you don't require a beach and are looking for a cost effective (Relatively!) hotel, we recommend Surf Side.
The price for this property, even though it is in paradise, doesn't equate to the amenities.
great location, except there is no beach readily available though there is a view of the beach. but it doesnt matter as there are beaches all around bermuda. rooms are huge with a fridge and kitchen, clean, balcony with view, and pool. can't ask for much more for the price. free internet at the lobby
For Bermuda this place is affordable. We had a mini kitchen which I found quite handy. The room was dated and there was small link in the bathroom but it was nice and housekeeping was very hospitable. It's in a good location and in walking distance (bit of a long walk) to one of Bermuda's more popular pubs. There is a bus stop right in front If you don't want to rely solely on taxi's. I've stayed before and will stay again but if you are looking for a 5-star resort this ain't it. But it does offer nice ocean views, nice location, private beaches, it's clean and quiet so for the budget conscience traveler it could be a good deal.
View of the Atlantic ocean was spectacular. Grounds and vegetation was wonderful. Deluxe Room was very clean, included toaster, microwave, 12-cup coffee maker & mini stove with all cookware/utensils. Staff was very courteous & helpful. Hurricane Fabian damaged the beach, but spectacular views remain as you walk down to the water-side. (Warwick Long beach is with-in walking distance) Surf Side's on-site fresh-water pool was well maintained. Yes, I'd deffinately stay at Surf Side again! Good value for the $ - March, 2009.
As frequent travelers we were greeted to a diamond in the rough. The hotel is quaint. Arrving late, we had to bring our own luggage to the room. The room was clean, spacious and included a kitchenette fully equipped. Although not a total ocean view, our patio did overlook the blue ocean waters. Mother nature, unfortunately has eroded the beach with debris from the cliffs, but you can still enjoy the beach area. Aside from the afternoon front desk attendant, the staff was extremely friendly and upbeat.. Since it was off season, the restaurant was open sparingly but it looks like a plus during high season. Pool was not in service, again, off season. We will definitely go back on our next trip to Bermuda. Not 5 star, but that may be a plus for this property.
This was one of the poorest hotels I have stayed in, was quite disappointed. For the price we paid, it had extremely poor value. The only good thing about it was the view and the restaurant. The hotel service and staff was poor (refused to give us more than one shampoo a day); very run down room, water sewage problem over the weekend and they informed us at the end of the weekend. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. I'd never stay there again, plenty of other v. nice hotels in Bermuda
There was loud construction noise starting early in the morning and lasting until late at night on the east side of the resort. We were not told of this construction or we would not have booked this resort. There was no beach, only cliffs and rocks. The front office ran out of day bus passes so we had to get a token into the Hamilton bus terminal to procure a pass. Food was excellent, service was excellent.
front desk service leaves little to be desired. in fact all of the customer service is not up to par.
Quiet and peaceful accommodations with a lot of privacy and great views of the ocean. Enjoyed sounds of the waves and tree frogs. Rooms were clean and kitchenette was well stocked. Grocery store was only a few minutes away by bus as were some of the major south shore beaches. If you are adventurous, like to create you own fun, and be in control of your meals, Surf Side is quite well situated. There is a nice small, quiet beach where we enjoyed walks, a picnic and some swimming. However, for swimming, we preferred Horseshoe Bay and the neighboring beaches.
The management staff and reception were rude and did not provide adequate assistance. Upon arrival, I was told they had no room available, eventhough I had fully paid for a suite prior to arrival. They initially did not assist with other arrangements, and I literally walked the streets to find another hotel to stay at. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a relaxing time!
SURFSIDE WAS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF BERMUDA ON THE OCEAN. THE STAFF OF THE HOTEL WERE GRACIOUS AND VERY FRIENDLY . MY COTTAGE WAS VERY CLEAN. THE RESTAURANT WAS EXCELLENT. THE VIEW WAS SPECTACULAR. I LOVED EVERYTHING AND I WILL BE GOING BACK. MY SISTER AND HER HUSBAND WANTS TO GO THERE ALSO.
