It is an excellent location for see the old town of Tomar and all its main atractions. We did not find any 'expensive' restuarants but what we found was good. We were also surprised that eating and drinking was inexpensive.
Spacious room, tasteful decor, excellent breakfast, quiet, very good location
Ease of finding and easy access to downtown Reception had dated information about local restaurants
Room size and comfort. Facilities in the hotel were excellent.
Location, aspect, welcome, facilities and price
well designed and attractive for a relatively new hotel-full marks to the garden staff for blending the hotel into the surroundings.Should we have been allocated a room overlooking the car park side of the hotel(which many do) we may have been less satisfied - as we checked in we noticed brochures advertising a 3 day package , apparently of similar rooms with breakfast for less than we were to pay for 2 days, which rather took the shine from our stay. I would wish to hear comments from booking.com (a company which I have found first class in the many dealings I have had with them)
The hotel is beautifully situated in luxuriant gardens with feature waterfalls from the hotel. Our rooms were nice and quiet with a lovely outlook, everything we needed and lots of space for hanging clothes etc. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked fine and if it had not I would have asked the hotel to help. Location within the town was very convenient and the restaurants in Tomar inexpensive. We thought it was seemed a shame that all the flowers inside the hotel were plastic but I assume they do not have a resident florist and the outdoor flowers are so nice it is probably a little unfair of us to criticise.
A large hotel with large public areas and large rooms. It has all modcons, although not fully new. Very comfortable, in a good location to the older part of town and to the convent. We had a good meal in the restaurant, and used the pool. Staff were most helpful.
Location, service, friendly and helpful staff
My wife and I loved this hotel. It is lovely and spacious. It was a pleasure having dinner in the restaurant as the food and the service were excellent. We will recommend it to all of our friends.
The hotel was extremely nice, we had a large room with a view of the river. The air conditioning was very welcome as it was unusually hot. The pool was excellent, with towels provided and it was never crowded. The breakfast buffet was very good and we are vegetarians, so we don't expect much to be available for us. The mini bar and hotel bar were reasonably priced but we did not use the restaurant. it is a very short walk into the old part of Tomar which we found to have plenty of bars and cafes and a pleasant square. The Templar connection is everywhere in Tomar and it was good to visit the Convent. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. The spa prices were prohibitive which was a shame, because everything else was so reasonable.
Welcoming staff. Convenient restaurant. Perfect location for visiting the town of Tomar, yet with a rural feel, on the island park in the town centre.
The value for the money. The location near the old city. Because of the construction in the area around the htel, it was difficult to get right up to the front door, especailly with luggage.. I realize you don't want people to walk away with your keys, but the big block of wood at the end is a little ridiculous.
Very good position near old city
The restaurant is wonderfull, the rooms are good and have a nice view. Staff manners
Hotel was simple, but nice. Nothing fancy, but it completely met our expectations and looked so much more interesting than the huge bland hotel nearby. It's location in a Park on the edge of the historic downtown area of Tomar was excellent. Only complaint was that our morning was marred by leaf blowing and mowing the lawn of the lovely garden surrounding the hotel. But, really, it has to be done sometime, right?
The price and general location of the hotel The one and only bridge , the property was on an island, was out of order. We were not informed of this. We had to park a distance from the hotel and the staff had to help with the luggage.
An old-fashioned lodge set in the middle of a park, on an island, but right in town. Friendly, welcoming staff. Easy parking (once you get there). This is an interesting and different kind of place. Hallway lighting is annoying (shuts off too fast).
The setting is beuatiful. It is so unfortunate that the owners have chosen not to keep this property up to its potential. The accomodation was extremely worn, breakfast cheaply provided, lighting terrible, not particularly clean, not exactly unfriendly service, more like absolutely minimal service with no warnth.
The location of the hotel in an attractive park setting. The rooms were quite dark and depressing
The breakfast starts late(8am) and the hotel didn´t present a solution for the need of a early breakfast, as i was working; I had a problem with the water wich was not promptly or properly solved; the tv was old, really small and had few channels; the internet signal was very slow.
Nice location! Close to the Castle.
Was central for my needs, very quiet, service in the restaurant very good, selections for breakfast good, found all staff to be helpfull and pleasent. When i visit Tomar again i would not hesitate to use the hotel. N/A
The hotel was within walking distance of many sites. We drove to the Convento de Cristo but it also could have been walked. The friendliness of the reception desk people was also appreciated.
Pleasant staff. Comfortable rooms. Great value. Good Location.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was kept clean Parking is a big problem
clean compfortable and in town The cleaning staff were far too loud. I understand you need to clean and use hoovers but they could wear rubber soles and not shout a conversation to each other.
Nice room, perfect breakfast, helpful staff, good location There is quite some noise from both outside as inside
The people was very nice. The place, although you could see it was a bit old on the outside, had been painted and been refurbished. Breakfast included in the price which was also very good. Nothing in especial
A very good breakfast, but very basic room and facility. There was a smell of cleaning fluid along the first floor corridor poor room facilities. No tea making , No hair dryer ,No ventilation in bathroom, No comfortable chair. Not enough coat hangers.
price location wasn't convenient - far from the main attractions, far from city center
bang opposit to train and bu station. city center 10 min walk. rooms are great.
The breakfast was superb, the rooms were very comfortable and the showers were very good. Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only bad point was that the breakfast room sometimes got too full, meaning there was nowhere to sit.
Courtesy and sympathy at reception - Nice, clean and comfortable room - Amazing service of gym and jacuzzi - good breakfast - very confortable position, in front of bus7train station andvery close to the center The room is not enormous and furniture is not so new, but overall the room has style
Breakfast was generous and quite pleasant. Staff is friendly and helpful. Possibility to use spa facilities (by paying !).
I liked the location. It was easy to park nearby. The breakfast was good. The staff were wonderful The wall between the bedroom are very thin. During the night you can clearly hear the people in the next room talking
Beautiful grounds and pool Hosts very obliging Good location out of Tomar Rooms a bit small though lovely old property
Different to most hotels which made it interesting Tennis court needs repair
The service and welcome by the hosts was impeccable. The facilities first class. The breakfast was varied and very enjoyable. No
The big apartament and the courtesy of the owners. The pleasent swimming pool and the proximity with the city.
We appreciated Mrs Gomes da Costa's kindness, the portuguese style of the room and its tidiness. The accomodation was a little bit far from Tomar
Facilities - bedroom was just lovely - stunning period house - just beautiful. The owners were lovely and very eager to please. Breakfast was fantastic. Location was perfect for exploring Tomar and its castle/monastery.
a hidden gem; not easy to find even with sat/nav but a nice surprise when you eventually get there. bedroom and bed was clean & comfortable and our hosts made us feel very welcome. breakfast consisted mostly of home-made food and local produce. delicious!
The owner, Maria & her husband went out of their way to make our stay a specially memorable one. Example, as we did not have our own transport, every morning he would offer to drive us to the railway station. Also on the last day when we had to leave early, before the normal breakfast time, Maria insisted to get up early to prepare breakfast for us.
Everything was perfect. The owners were very friendly. I strongly recommend this hotel.
The place is wonderfull. I strongly advice to people interested on a very relaxed and closy country side house. The room was very traditional and the breakfast was superb. The owners are wonderfull!! P.S: I enjoyed so much that after one night, I decided to stay one extra.
