We stayed in Torquay for the events surrounding the Agatha Christie anniversary. We found the Hotel an excellent base, for its proximity to the main places of interest -Museum, walking tour, Peignton Library, & the Promenade Also, the Hotel had an old-fashioned air, in keeping with the event, without being in any way 'down at heel' and the breakfasts were good not really
The lady who runs the hotel is lovely. The hotel is very clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was good. It is a good 25 minute walk into Torquay.
Friendly helpful staff, quiet location, nice environment. Restaurant was closed
great room, great location, good breakfast and friendly helpful staff.
The owner was lovely and made me feel very welcome. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have the freeview TV I would be nice to have the internet.
quiet area very small en-suite. Had to look for reception staff as no one around. was not given info about breakfast or use of TV when checking in
beautiful room, friendly staff, good breakfast
close to beach and all amenities, good sized car park.
The friendliness and location The restaurant was closed which was very disappointing to me as I prefer to eat in the hotel. With a young child with me we had to go out every night to find somewhere to eat
Advertises a bar which did not open, also said it was close to town centre but was a half an hour walk away.
homely feel and friendly landlady/landlord good breakfast selaction
Our room and dining room were very clean, Good cooked breakfast and selection of cereals fruit juice etc. Bed very very uncomfortable needs replacing, room & bathroom need up-dating looked very worn and tired Further away from town than stated
Restricted Breakfast Menu ; More like a B & B then a Hotel
Couldn’t fault anything, very clean and well run.
The Hotel felt like a second home
Our accommodation was beautifully presented, very clean and comfortable with freshly cooked breakfasts and quality coffee and tea provided in the room. We particularly liked the location as it was a flat walk to the beach and harbour through a pleasant park. Nothing
Was warmly welcomed, room was very nice, service was good, and breakfast was fast and appetising
The room was very comfortable and well decorated The reception we received was cold - not made to feel very welcome
Quality items were supplied, such as liquid soap, soft towels, named brands for brekfast cereals. Vast choice of options for breakfast. The room could have been cleaner, also it was quite noisy when other residents walked past the room or came into the hotel.
I loved everthing about it. We stayed in edgcombe suite which had twin shower and jacuzzi which was amazing. Friendly staff and can not fault the food or service. Loved everything.
would have liked a friendlier welcome, also, being shown to the room would have been a nice touch , as we went to the wrong floor initially, carrying suitcases up and down narrow flights of stairs was a pain !
I loved it's warm and worn old English feel and historic charm.
Helpful staff. Excellent food. A classy interesting hotel. We did not see any of the resident ghosts!!!
Our 3rd visit; a cosy.welcoming and friendly place. Comfortable rooms, good food & a good "pubby" feel to the bar
Absolutely everything!!! (and no I am not connected to the hotel..)
A truly lovely place to stay
We loved the wonderful food they have a very talented Chef. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a nice warm welcoming atmosphere. Our room was disappointing, we felt that it needed some TLC and updating, it felt like a basic over flow room - simple things could have been done: - it would have been helpful to have placed a mirror on the wall or on the chest of drawers near a socket for when drying ones hair. An extra bedside table lamp would also have been helpful lighting was poor it meant that only my husband was able to see to read in bed
Location, food Sound insulation in room to adjoining guest room not so good
The comfort of our room was excellent but our friends said their bed had dips in each side and appeared old like the establishment. Thought the dining room for breakfast a little on the dismal side - could of done with more lighting
There was a shortgage of staff and the the overflow car park that is used by guests has been badly pitted and in need of repair for the last three visits, and its even in a worse state now, and we consider it to be dangerous to drive over. Our room (No 2) had a cracked basin and the soap dish over the bath had been broken in two and badly repaired with Mastik, and not cleaned up. Very dangerous. Also the breakfasts were not up to their usual standard, i.e. greasy.
Food Creaky floorboards
As always the location and friendliness of the Dartbridge Inn made our stay a pleasure. The food's good too! Occsionally service a bit slow-but we weren't in a hurry!
The long wait for food in the evening although it was very good when it eventually arrived, not such a long wait for breakfast which had an excellent selection.
Staff Friendly, Room very clean, plenty of hot water at all times. Table reservation for evening meal was 'find a table with scruffy hand written reserved on it'. Faulty lock on 'late night' entry door for guests.
Walking on Dartmoor Could not provide many of the items on the menu at dinner
attentrive staff & excellent food The road noise is intrusive & the matress awful!!
the staff at arrival was very helpful (a young gentleman and later at dinner time also a young lady)
In general service was slow at times, although very good once you did get served.
