Common areas, Pool was beautiful, hot tub was great. Rooms are funky - The first one smelt like human refuse. THe service is pathetic - getting atoothbrush takes 1.5 hours and reminders. There is a "fee" for this reservation - be aware.
Nice staff! Big rooms Water main broke so that was a bummer but they moved us and compensated us a little. The first room had a big tub that I was looking forward to soaking in but never got the chance and the second room unfortunately didn't have one. Also we asked for non feather bedding because of allergies but at 2am we realized they weren't so our first night was pretty miserable
I really liked Donna in the Gift shop - She was so nice and friendly. The rest of the staff was very nice as well. My room did not get cleaned the first day. by the time they showed up It was 5:30pm and I was in my room getting ready to go out for the evening. I'm not a messy person - so no big deal. But the next day they had it done by mid afternoon. The lights in my hotel room were dim and some burnt out, but I made do. The pool was relaxing and the drinks were great. The people I met at the lobby bar were so much fun. The location is great - 7 11 is right across the street - convenient. And local shops are just a block away. I would stay there again.
We were able to have an early check in, at around noon on a Wednesday. Staff were all friendly. Service around the main pool was good. Food for breakfast and lunch was adequate but not amazing. We ate our dinner out each night, so cannot comment. We had a room in building four - LOVED having a balcony overlooking the pool. LOVED being at the back by the quieter pool. We really liked that the resort is trying to keep the "midcentury modern" vibe with the interior design. We appreciated being able to use the main pool and gym after checkout on the day we were leaving, even though we could not have a late checkout. The rooms were large and although the place does need some upkeep, we did not think it detracted from the overall feel of the hotel. The most frustrating thing was that we were out of our room from 10AM - 4PM and when we came back they had not cleaned our room. We asked them to wait until we were done getting ready to go out for dinner and then a manager called to say that the staff had to clean our room right then because it was time for her to go home. She cleaned the room with us in there getting ready to go out for dinner. On the first day we had to wait an hour for room service to bring wine glasses to our room, and when we called back they said they thought they had sent them already. We arrived on a Wednesday, and went to the smaller pool where there were no clean towels. We waited for about an hour. A guest called and they said they would send towels right away. About a half hour later another guest called and the staff said "oh yes, someone called three minutes ago about that". The towels arrived soon after that. The bar at the smaller pool was advertised as being open on our welcome brochure, but was not open for the first two days of our visit. I wish they would have told us that this was going to be the case, or at least had a sign up explaining. Overall much of our negative experience was consistent with previous reviews. I think I would stay at this hotel again, but only if the reviews started to show that these things were changing. It seemed like possibly they were understaffed, or did not know where to put their priorities.
The staff was very friendly. The rooms were nice bed was comfortable. Loved that the chiki pool had some music during the day :) The water in the pool and the hot tub were dirty. There was not enough self parking.

Nice pool area They could not get the heat to work and had no room available to move is to that had working heat. We were told the hotel would waive the $35 per day resort fee - we were then charged the fee upon check out. There should be some habitability law that requires basic deliverables from a hotel in California - if there is it is not being enforced.
location was great. staff was warm and friendly. room was clean and bed was comfortable. ac heating did not work. called front desk and was told they would send someone but that did not happen.
The one thing we enjoyed was the pool table and rental of the bikes. I didn't like the fact I had to wait four hours to change my room and the house keeper and front desk go at back n fourth about changing my room that was filled with dead ants and live ones including bugs. Smelled badly .
The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the rooms were clean and nice. The staff dropped the ball pretty much every time we asked for assistance or needed an issue resolved. The only good experience we had with staff was a server in the restaurant, the bartender at the pool and a maintenance worker by the pool. The front desk staff were extremely rude, many staff members have no idea where anything is on the property, and no one apologized for making mistakes. 4th of July is obviously a busy weekend for the hotel, but we were also there for a wedding and the staff made many mistakes in accommodating the event and basic needs of a wedding group.
