The water is yellow. If that fact was proactively communicated and explained, it would have better managed expectations.
We love the resort but they really need to hire new people on the beach. I can't believe that they let those kids work in a resort like this. So rude! Bunch of little punks, every year we come I will not let my girls go to the beach because of the beach guys. I even told staff members of the things that they do and again, I come back this year and there whistling at my 13 year old daughter. Not happy, stay by the pool!
My wife and I are now completing what is our fourth visit to Ocean Pointe. The 'villas' are comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The resort is large with five buildings, four grouped together and one, the one closest to the waterway between Singer Island and Palm Beach, separated from the others by a condo. The resort has three major pool areas (along with hot tubs) and an extensive activity program, focusing on kids, but including activities for adults as well. It also has outdoor cooking facilities and some very nice shaded chair swings that seem to appeal more to adults than kids. One of the greatest drawback of Ocean Pointe is parking. Although there is outdoor parking, there is also semi-enclosed parking under the various buildings--but the parking spaces tend to be small and quite difficult to get into and out of. There are also gates which one has to get past in order to get into the various parking areas. While it makes sense to keep others from the adjacent beach, the gates are inconvenient and even annoying. If you have younger kids, you may want to request a villa in the area with the cluster of four buildings (Sailfish, Dolphin, Cobia or Pampano) because that's where there are more facilities and more activities for them and you. If you'd prefer things being a bit more private and a bit more quiet, the Kingfish building, the one closest to the waterway between Singer Island and Palm Beach, would probably be your best choice. There aren't a lot of good restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but West Palm Beach, Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens are all relatively close.
Everyone on the staff was very helpful. It was just my son and myself and I felt very safe since you need a key to get into any part of the hotel premises other than the front lobby. You don't have to carry cash on you which is great!! We didn't even need to leave to do anything. There is plenty of food options there. It had so many activities for my son to do and he had a blast. It is overall a beautiful place. We both had such a great time. I told my friends all about it and I want to go back soon.
Situated in a residential area, very quiet and not like the usual beach strip location- this resort has it all for any age. Pool and food service right there for families, and an easy walk to the business area with many choices for adult dining. a mini store on site is also very convenient. The front desk even made me google maps for our next stop on our trip, but we would have liked to stay longer.
Only stayed one night but were very happy with the room and all the amenities made it comfortable and convenient.
On this trip it was just my husband and I in a one bedroom. It was great having a jacuzzi, a living area to snack and watch tv, as well as a kitchen and terrace. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious. Our room was clean and quiet. The beach is not crowded and we never had a problem finding lounges by one of the pools. The tiki bar had daily drink specials. It is definitely a resort more geared to family. We have stayed here before with our kids and loved it then as well. Great comfortable unpretentious resort that gives a bit more space than a regular hotel room.
Liked the multi pool lush tropical settng. Did lack an in-house restaraunt though. But the tiki/pool bar was nice and light menu was available there. We are a family with two kids (7 and 11). Atmosphere was definately more suited for 'senior' group.
We stayed for two nights during Thanksgiving and added a third even though we had freinds in Boca offering us a room at their house. Location is great for pool (many), beach, and inlet for fishing. Our four year old found many friends at the pool, many who return year after year. Lot's of activities for the kids. Each of the buildings has a group of stainless grills behind it. The staff was top notch. We'll be back.
