Bed was extremely comfortable and the sea view uninteruppted. The concierege were most helpful. Car parking was definitely a must There was a wedding or wedding fair on on the Friday evening and as we were right a bove the function room it was terribly noisy. Foirtunately all finished at midnight.
views and location to Porta Portals
Nixe Palace was perfect for our weekend away and we cannot wait to stay there again. We arrived to cava and fresh fruit in our room and that level of service continued throughout the stay. From yummy food in the bistro to the delightful spa to the spectacular views of the sea, this hotel is absolutely fantastic. For those who prefer to stay near to the city, this is a bit further out, but taxis frequently drive past the hotel and we never waited more than ten minutes for one. There is also, as others have mentioned, a bus stop near the hotel, but as the cabs were so cheap, we never used this.
Good spa facilities, nice beach, easy to get to the center of Palma and Porto Pi shopping center. Smelly room not really up to 5* hotel, very noisy if you book the room with the city view - which is actually overlooking the main street & back entry for the laundry services. Smell of savage for 4 days & we were not able to get rid off it!!!. Poor newspapers selection - no English titles. Cleaning ladies very noisy in the morning, chatting next to our room. Very souless hotel with generally poor service, without a single smile. Will not recommend to friends.
old and not a 5 start level
Sea view, balcony Lack of the hotel territory, poor vegetation around
Very friendly staff, good food, perfect gaspacho, nice beach, conviniet location very strange choice of Russian TV channel (RBC - the only one); looks like nothing to do there with children - no one playground, even on the beach
Room was ready at 11.00H instead 15.00h.Clean. Quiet. I had a room a little bit at the end, no view!
Position of hotel and location The front desk staff could hve been a bit more knowledgeable about tours.
We popped over to the Nixe for 3 nights and it was a wondful break. The hotel is right of the beach and we had a huge balcony so we could simply sit and watch the sea. We ate in several times for lunch ( as the view was so lovely) and in the evening. Excellent food and service. Hotel does front onto a main road and although many shops were closed as this is low season, I suspect it might get fairly busy in summer. However, the NIxe is an oasis , with a great spa and we would definateyl stay there again..Bus cost 1euro to get into Palma 25 mins away. Road at front of hotel could be busy in Summer. Cannot walk very far along sea front as beach fairly short.
Excellent facility with all amenities, good views and location. Spa Service is a rip-off. I signed up for an hour's sports massage and my masseur rushed through the process in less than forty minutes. For the experience, I paid nearly 300 Euros. One of the reasons I chose this hotel is becasue it had a Spa, something which I use on all of my recreational trips. This one was the worst ever!
The staff are very helpful with suggestions on where to go and what to see. Buffet breakfast was excellent and included in the rate. Other than breakfast, meals and serving staff are mediocre for a 5 star hotel. Fortunately there are good restaurants in the area....
The staff are very friendly and helpfull. The cleaning of the room was not good.
Friendliness of staff Unable to check in at 3.00pm
the convienence of position, the friendly staff & services of the hotel
The best thing about the hotel is the pool area. It is spacious and very attractive. I would like to bring my children here sometime but I am not comfortable that children would fit in as most of the guest are quite old. The only thing I didn't like on both my stays was teh beds. When I book a double room I expect a double bed not two single beds pushed togther. This is not romantic.
- Very quiet, clean, nice installations. Wifi for free in the hall. - Wifi not for free in the room. I concider water, electricity and Internet access as the basis.
The Staff- they were excellent. The pool area was also most pleasant, and the view from our room was beautiful. Nothing - only the walk up from the village. However, taxi at €3- who could complain!
Great stay here. Nothing too fancy but comfortable, clean, cute, and very helpful staff. Free wifi in lobby.
Location and food
Swimming pool clean and beds available always. standard double room ok and hotel staff vey cooperative. Occasionally bar personnel not available for after dinner drinks which did not encourage people to have a drink in the lounge/bar area.
no A/C, old furnitures.
Very near palma Airport and local beach cala major. Excellent bus links to Palma town. Very noisey rooms as though walls were made of paper. i went to get well after an illness, but didn't get any sleep for the 4 nights stay due to other guests, barking dogs, cars and deliveries outside the hotel.
the staff were kind. and the pool was fine very dirty and very noisy. We slept there for 3 nights ad all the 3 nights there were a lot of noise in the hotel. The sheets and towels were not changed and there were no glasses, no knives and no plate in the room. I dont recommend the hotel any way t any one.
great pool and breakfast too far from centre
Location was ideal for city ,Bellevair Castle and beach.Proximity to Porto Pi shopping centre and bus stop.Food was very good and staff friendly and helpful Noise does carry between rooms and floors.Sound insulation may improve this
The hotel was comfortable and there was a good choice at breakfast. (we did not have dinner at this hotel so we cannot comment on other meals) Contrary to reports I have read elsewhere, my Wife and I found the hotel reception to be efficient and helpful, with a good understanding of the English language. Although it did not affect us in anyway, this hotel is not suitable for people with walking difficulties due to its location on a hill, and narrow approach road. The swimming pool area needs some improvement.
Superb location. Very efficient and friendly front desk. Incredibly we found a cigarette butt in the folded duvet on the bed! In Spain????????
The best thing is that Santa Ana is located on the beach, which is small, but clean and very nice. For this price to live on the beach and have a sea-view from the balcony I think is very good option. Food was very good in the hotel restaurant, great choice and only 10 Euro for dinner, which is very cheap for a tourist from London. Breakfast was very good as well. Staff were friendly and nice. The hotel, i.e. building is quite old, and the room reminded me an old Soviet style hotel with very old furniture... I was expecting a bit modern one.. some staff did not speak good English which may be a bit frusrtating.. The area nearby hotel is quite boring, not many restaurants or entertainment..
close to sea
Location - right on the beach. Friendliness of staff. Access to Palma. Dated decor. Poor breakfast (bad coffee, processed cheese, slimy ham, tinned fruit). Dodgy lifts.
The hotel is situated right next to the beach, that i my oppinion was the only plus of the hotel. There was no air conditioning
We were on the 7th floor with the most amazing view! The room is basic, but the bathroom is clean and modern. It's only a 9 Euro taxi ride into town. Great pool/seating area and the hotel is right on the beach.
Big room, balcony and beautiful beach. I did not feel secure when I was in the elevator.
The location of the hotel is good.Beach is right at the front door and by a short walk lots of restaurants and bars and around 10 min walk a big shopping center and the main port of Palma.Bus stop is close, easy connection to the airport by 2 bus.Take Bus 3 and stop at the shopping center and from the same bus stop take Bus1 which goes to the airport. All for 4 euros and 20 min. The room was very old style and not too comfortable.Very thin walls so easily could hear everything from next rooms. The room and hotel cleaners started to work early and they were so loud it was impossible to sleep in the morning. The elevator/lift sometimes didnt worked or went mad.Beside the receptionists and the bar staff most of the hotel staff did not speak any other language only spanish. Not even in the Hotel`s restaurant. And finaly the water.Sometimes had no hot water and sometimes it was yellow and dirty.Overall I wouldnt stay there once again but it was an OK category for 4 days.
right by the beach
The location of the hotel is very good. Our room has a nice view to the sea. If you don't expect to much from a 3 star hotel than It's ok. The breakfast is only between 8 am and 10 am, but most of the guest's are young people who like to go out at the night, would be better till 10.30 am or 11 am. No air conditioner in the room's, there is a possibility to rent a fan for 40 euros/week, but from a third party agency and it seems a bit complicated. We couldn't reach it.
The hotel was good for us becauce we wanted somewhere quite when out of season, although there were more people in the hotel we almost had the pool to ourselves. One day the maid never cleaned the room, which was not a big problem has there was only the two of us and i changed the towels myself from the maids trolly. The breckfast was a little dull the same every morning, when i think there should of been a different choise of fruit than just apples, oranges and tomatoes and one day they run out of Yogurts. The bar was not open most days, no caferteria which we never read this in any adverts of the hotel. We also booked a double but we got a twin???
Good budget Hotel in a fairly good location for both the beach and the City. Lovely pool which no one really used.Room clean with daily maid service.Breakfast the same every day but a fairly good selection.Reception staff were extremely helpful when my flight was cancelled and my husband was ill. Only English TV channel was BBC news, but then we did not go there to watch TV.Fresh coffee at breakfast would have been nice,as would have been tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Staff is very amiable, the hotel location is convinient and quiet, delicious breakfasts.
Spectacular view of the bay from the room. Lift only travels to 6th floor - carrying bags up to the 7thn floor was a strain
The best thig for us was the location - ideal for friends we were visiting. The service was poor, bordering on absymal. Information was not easily forthcoming from the reception desk and the person on duty when we needed to check out did not know how to use the computer or the card reader - and we had a plane to catch. We went to another bar because the service at the hotel bar was non-existent.
The view to the sea
The staff was nice and helpfull (speak english). The room was quit big, confortable and clean, and as we asked we had the view on the sea. You can hear a bit noise from other room, but it wasn't so noisy, it didn't disturb so much. It's 10min walking until the beach. The breakfast is ok. The breakfast in the week could start earlier.
Nice views, lovely, clean sandy bay, close to transport links. Clean hotel but far too noisy, both night and day. The hotel was all concrete and the noise of doors etc was really loud. We could even hear the lift going up and down, though our room was not near the lifts.
Very good location, direct on the beach. 2 min to the bus station. Good breakfast. All rooms with sea view. Rather old furniture in the room, but everything is clean.
Great location and not too far from Palma. It's a 3 star hotel but pretty good quality for what you pay. We got moved here as Santa Ana was closing for winter. If you can, I would book Santa Ana as it is higher so has better views.
The proximity to the calm beach of Cala Mayor They displayed in the bar a very tempting Pina Colada as "The cocktail of the day" . I requested one and it was disappointing. The presentation was not even close to the one they displayed, the cocktail was not good and the price was too high.
The beach and closness to the downtown. The breakfast was good. It is toooo noisy-I was looking forward to the wave sound at night but not the disco bass noise, the stuff is not friendly.I expected to have a sea view room but I had it over the entrance door. The furniture doesn't suit 4 star hotel.
Nothing The room was dirty, smelled terrible, had mold in it, the bed was going to break, we checked out the next day.
Near the sea, 5 minutes Noisy inside, you can hear your neigbours, not very comfortable rooms, very cold at night in October.
location near beach was excellent no
Vew from the window was very nice
helpful staff, close to the beach
La Cala was closed but we were upgraded to neighbouring Hotel Playa Cala Mayor -both hotels in ideal location next to beach with good views. Hotel restaurant provided excellent breakfast and dinner buffets
For a three star hotel it ia at the lower end of that bracket and its only real majoor feature is it is frontline beach with a great view from the balcony. Basic interior, basic furniture in the bedrooms and basic beds. No air conditioning in the bedrooms - good job I was there at the end of september. The buffet all inclusive food was very poor.
The location was excellent, right beside the sea front and from our room we could view the entire beach. The staff were very friendly and polite but not too knowledgeable when we asked about local activities or restaurants. It would help if they knew a little more about what was going on locally and had reccomendations.
Bus Stop into Palma was practically outside the door and it was right by a lovely little beach. The food was excellent!!!!! We had "All Inclusive". However, we were only allowed to have Red or White wine -- no Rose, although they actually had it. I checked the wine list and it was exactly the same price as the other two!! Very strange.
Very relaxing, fantastic view from the balcony, food was good and the staff very helpful and very pleasent, a very good holiday, would definatly recommend this hotel and resort to anyone. No.
Service was great. Very old hotel brilliant location. Rooms without balconys were awful.
Nice position, few stairs to the beach (Cala Mayor), the hotel has everything you need. People very kind. The all inclusive was not so expensive and convenient.
Near to beach and a lovely view. Near to buss. A wonderful terrace with many sitting groups and gown up nice trees.
The only thing we liked was the location of the hotel in comparison to La Palma which made it easier to find something to do at night. In addition, it was helpful that it was an all inclusive. The accomodations were very minimal for the price we paid for the week. 1K canadian for one week was way too much for a bed that had foam as a mattress, and walls so thin you can here a person sneeze from all corners of the room. In addition, we did not have a balcony which made our stay even harder considering this is a beach resort and we needed somewhere to try and dry our towels etc.
View, bus to palma on the back of teh hotel, all inclusives, directly on the beach, alltogether very ggod value and location, we will stay there again! Food very monotomous
Nice swimming pool. Good value breakfast (€2.50 for coffee and 2 toasts with butter and jam). I asked for a non-smoking room but when we got there the room smelt of smoke and was a bit dank and dark. Beds not very comfortable. The other guests in this place make a lot of noise around the pool during the day.
The owners' two dogs, who were a delight. Quite nice location in what I would call a more 'Spanish' quarter. The total unhelpfulness and co-operation of owners. I had all my money stolen before I even arrived at the San Telmo and received no help whatsoever. My son had sufficient money to pay for 3 nights only instead of the 6 we had booked. Totally unwilling to wait for money transfer so we were forced to spend, ultimately, 4 nights not original 3, living rough at airport. I would never stay there again. In fact, I would never want to visit Majorca again.
the only advantage is the tiny swimming pool. and it is close to the beach, although the beach itself is also tiny. the hostel does not have the air conditioning and in August the rooms are too hot. there is no kitchen, not even a kettle in the room. moreover, the owner has two large dogs fooling around the area. the furniture is old and rooms are really small. it is far from the city center.
easy for shoping no kettel in room got one cupa tea stone cold cost me 2-50 erous at this place
Excellent staff - swimming pool - bus stop to city center, 2 minutes - beach, 2 minutes - a few nice restaurants on the main road and..VERY Good value for money!!! Cleanliness of the room to be improved
The room was small, but clean, as was our bathroom. There's a fair amount of stairs to climb if you are on the third floor. Parking your vehicle in the vicinity of the hostal is not always possible (crowded neighbourhood)
Friendliness and helpness of staff, apart from this there is little to recommend it Beds dreadfully uncomfortable, hotel generally in fairly bad repair, prices nearly as much as a 3star half board hotel I stayed at but facilities etc nowhere near as good.
Great value for money, clean and tidy, decent pool and close to centre and public transport.Overall recommended on a budget. Owner has 2 (friendly) dogs who bark a lot!
It is good for the budget and the location is near to the beach. There is also a bar next to the hotel which offers breakfast in a very cheap price. No tv inside th room, however if you want to have a tv, you need to pay
relax, party, swimming,
