Nice appartment ,in the center of the city. Parking outside the house in the street.. Nice terasse on the top of the house. Breakfaste is simple. Went to the supermarceto around the corner and bought ingredients there.
Great place with good aparments and a very nice roof terace. Perfect location, close to the old town and the seafront
Apartments are brand-new, well equiped, spacious with a balcony. Owner was very friendly. noisy street under the balcony, but
It was nice to have the terasse. The landlord was very friendly, although it was difficult to communicate in english. The quality of breakfast was low.......only sweet bread, and very little..
Excelent location - quiet place near to the Old city and main bus stop. The nearest beach is good 15 min away, however, the disposition of Alghero is that you can't be near the Old city and the beach at the same time. Apartments are recently opened, so everything is new and in good condition, a lot of cutlery, etc. Close to two supermarkets. No cleaning at all, just change of towels. Well, to be more precise, there was a possibility to order a cleaning for extra EUR 20. Perhaps it is not a problem for few days staying, however, for 12 days.... No reception, no staff, if you need anything, call the owner.
Aurasol is actually a number of separate self-catering apartments with cooking facilities which means you can cook your own meals if you want to. Eating out every night can be expensive ! Breakfast is simple ie a number of pre-packed breads and cakes left in a basket, but a large supply of jams, milk, coffee and tea are also provided.
Close to the old town! Only 3 minutes walking. No reseption (only apartments), but the sweetest woman helping us on arrival day. You can call her whenever needed. Breakfast in the room, but that is OK since there is a sofa and kitchen table. Cheap! Good value for money if you do not need luxury. Book it :)
Aurasol Alghero appartments are located nicely just in the middle of the Algero town. It's located within minutes walking to the old town of Alghero, where all the little shops and absolutely amazing restaurants, just beside the tour bus stop and marina. Location is great just in the middle of everything and yet it was very queit place. Appartent was very clean, good size double debroom, absolutely new bathroom, fully equipt kitchen (glasses, mugs, pots, frying pans, microwave, sugar, tea, coffee etc) big plazma TV on the wall, balcony. It was really enjoyable, appartment was absolutelly perfect!
great location (next to the old city center, supermarket, park, beach, restaurants, all around the corner), nice owners, very clean and good furnished apartment from the apartment balcony no view at all (only from the roof terrace)
This apartment was very convenient to the Centro Istorico of Alghero. The owner was very helpful and had supplied all the basic necessities for a few days stay. No
nice quiet area. staff friendly. no pool or restaurant at hotel. breakfast very basic. beds & pillows too hard. only 1 english speaking channell on tv.
breakfast! bad wine (bottle open too long?) at the bar
modern hotel, rooms have comfortable large bed
Quiet residential area, 12 minute walk to city center.
Very comfortable, clean hotel with good breakfast buffet.
Hotel staff were very helpful and had good english. The room was bright, a good size and very clean. The breakfast was good. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the centre of Alghero and about 20 minutes to the beach. I like walking so this was not a problem but a car would be needed if you are staying for longer then a few days.
The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. The breakfast was lovely with fresh coffees prepared to order Nothing - perfect
Close to city center and a quite location. Easy to park
breakfast, cleanliness of room, staff thin walls
Great friendly staff Fair distance from town
Central location, balcony views, adequate breakfast No
the roof top terrace! it was fantastic!
The hotel was perfect for our short break, we really enjoyed it!
The SPA department, the location, the corner-room we had with two windows and balcony. The breakfast, the bed and it was a bit overpriced.
breakfast on the terrace, top of hotel,it was glorious! hotel is very central. staff at hotel friendly and helpful.
central positioin, friendly helpful staff, sea facing balcony, air conditioning. Didnt agree with the bad reviews from other travellers. Breakfast and coffee poor but who chooses a hotel for its breakfast?
the position was great. very dated hotel. needs a refub.
3 minute walk to Old Town. Modern Spa in Hotel. Lady in the Spa not suitably qualified. I suffered sunstroke from using the 'solarium'. It was set for 15 mins. It should by the hotels own recommendation be set at 8 mins. After 12 hours of sickness and severe pain I went to reception for water and some lotion for burns. She laughed at me. Then proceeded to charge me €20.80 for a very small tube of moisturiser. The cleaner was more concerned! And the male receptionist didn't even listen. He even charged me for the water. I was barely able to speak I was that sick. Very poor customer service, and I would go so far to say they were negligent. However this was the only negative experience I had.
Cleaning standards excellent - cleaning staff very friendly and thorough. Lady attending at breakfast very pleasant and attentive. View from room was stone wall and neighbouring cat screeching on a nightly basis. Staff did not properly inform us of beach location because of this we missed private beach and could not use changing facilities and showers at beach with language barrier it was difficult to locate on street.
The rooms were basic but clean and had no problems of any sort. Lovely rooftop terrace which could be used in better weather. Did not have time to use pool or other facilities.
Too expensive and too basic
friendly and helpfull staff, hotel was located close to nice beach even though distance to city was few kilometres. Still nice to walk to city due to sie view. Hotel was great and absolutely recommended to stay.
Location is indeed very close to the beach. Large parking space. The restaurant manager is very friendly and make you feel confortable. The room furniture was nice, and had a great air conditing as it was very hot in august. Staff has only few words in english except one. I stayed 2 nights - Never was the room done as you except in the 3*. Breakfast very poor. There is no buffet but the staff will bring yours. I had on those 2 mornings a croissant, jams, a cappucino... The garden wasn't take care of. Not very welcoming when you enter the hotel's courtyard. Pity there isnt a swimming pool, there is enough space.
Tastefully refurbished converted prison which use to house mutineers, set well back from the beach. Beautiful building, nice atmosphere for couples.Resonable priced restaurant compared with Algherro town. Staff very helpfull Restaurant could have been more inviting in the evening, e.g. low lighting, traditional background music. Felt more like a canteen with TV on. A sitting lounge area at the bar would have been nice
We loved the peaceful environment whereas the hotel is near to the beautiful sandy beach. No mass tourism feeling at all. The hotel was the perfect choice.
Staff were friendly. Room was clean. It was relatively inexpensive Food menu could be more varied
The staff was fantastic! They helped me to find restaurants, good beaches and excursions like kayaking and a boat tour of hidden beaches. Their advice and support really made for a fantastic trip.
Beach was cca 200 meters away, tidy room and bathroom. It was around 30 minutes to town by walking, 5-10 minutes by bus, on the other hand the surroundings were calm. In case you wish to travel to city often either book a car or a scooter. Most of the staff did not understand English, although they tried to be helpful everytime.
No lounge facilities and bar not open beyond 9pm!!
The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help out with any questions. The rooms were nicely furnished and the house itself was very well-kept with a pretty, quiet inner courtyard, where they also served breakfast and dinner. It's close to the beach and easy to find from the airport. I appreciated the wireless internet. To the city centre it is at least a 20 minute walk, so it depends what you're looking for. For me, it was just perfect.
Very nice family that runs the hotel. Helpful with everything. Short way to the beuatiful old town. You can walk there in 10-15 minutes. There are a beach very close to the hotel and it takes only 5 minutes to walk. You can take the local bus to the Maria Pia beach and it takes about 20 minutes. Very friendly people in Alghero. If you go here in August, when there is a lot of people, make sure that you book a car in advance if you want to hire one.
The staff of the hotel is very helpful
I liked the personell and the atmosphere. I felt the Italian hospitallity
Excellent room with a spacious terrace and extremeley service minded staff. Calm and peaceful. Normal Italian breakfast.
It's in a great location- just a couple of minutes from the beach and only 20 minutes walk along a nice promenade to reach the old town. It was always clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. It's particularly useful if you're English as the landlady is English and suggested to us lovely places to visit. They even have novels there you can read! No
The helpful, friendly attitude of the staff in a small, clean hotel set in a central yet peaceful location. The shower was very cramped.
Perfect location - close to the beach (1 min) and 15 min walking to the city centre.A lots of good restaurants ans pubs around.Very clean hotel - it's not modern fashion hotel but the cleanest one that I've ever been. Air conditioning.Very nice swimming pool in the garden Great staff, really friendly and helpful (speak English very well)
The hotel was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was woefully bad. The coffee defies description. The facilites and upkeep were not what you'd expect. I expected better.
We had a good room with a balcony and good views overlooking the sea with the town in the distance. The pool was beautiful and not too crowded. We were not given a breakdown of the bill and were surpised as ithe cost was higher than we had been quoted by Booking.com. We had handed over our paperwork at the beginning of the holiday with our passports and it was not returned so we were not in a position to query it.
Lovely setting (pool-side; cafe garden) and location great for beach The breakfast was ok but not great. (Bread / juice not very fresh).
Near the boulevard and within walking distance (20 min) of the old town Staff lacks of energy and good mood
The friendlieness and helpfulness of the mangement and staff of the hotel, and the quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Not applicable. Nothing I disliked about hotel.
Hotel was great. Very clean. Helpful, friendly staff.
Nice pool close to the beach short walk to old town Overpriced Room facilities very basic
all the staff were all very freindly and helpful, The location was ideal for the beach.
We spent one week in this hotel and we met with friendly and kindly staff. The location of this hotel is excellent between centre of Alghero and the beeches, direct on promenade. There are many confortable bars and restaurants nearby.
My husband and I have been using this hotel for 7 years now. the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent for the beach and walking into the old town, and is about 15 mins from the airport. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The location of the hotel is good, between the Old Town and the beach and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Our room was very clean, comfortable had air conditioning, and we had a sea view from our balcony. When we stayed in Sept 2008 there was a building site next to the hotel which seemed to spring into life early in the morning, so might be worth checking if works are finished especially if you're a light sleeper. However, we found that this didnt outweigh the good points of the hotel itself.
The friendliness of the hotel staff and the location
Location was fantastic
Not Much. Located on very busy road, there was a building site next door. The staff were quite unfriendly, did not put themselves out much & the rooms were very basic.
The breakfast had no variety same every day the cornflakes were like rabbit food even a toaster with fresh bread would have been nice it didnt make you want to rush down to eat oue grandson only drank milk woulnt eat anything.
location was excellent. opposite the beach. staff polite. quiet rooms. very clean. nice balcony. breakfast was very poor. the cheapast type of food was provided. no fresh fruit or boiled eggs etc. also staff were polite but they had no interest in providing info about the area etc
Nothing The hotel was advertise as new on booking com which is a lie. The place is at least 50 years old and deserves a single star rating. Everything is old and shabby. Bathroom is awful, you can sit on a toilet and wash your feet in a shower at the same time (no joke). Furniture from 1960's. No mini-bar. Worst value for money in my life ever (and we stay in at least 10 hotels per year).
The excellent location-just across road from lovely beach and 10 minutes walk into old town or 10 minutes the other way to tree lined beach. The room looked out on unattractive residential area. There was an unpleasant odour from the bathroom consistently.
Room was very nicely decorated and it was very happy feelings to be in it. The break fast was really really crap , only one type of cereal and one type of fruit, peprony, cheese and tomato for the breakfast, no english tea was available. Staff for the breakfast area was not frindly and very poor english. There is not enough Sun beds around the pool area, Air conditioning in the room was not very good , i had to keep the window open which was more cooler than aircon, my flight was very late in the evening and i had to leave my room at 12 as hotel staff told me that they were fully booked and i have to be puncual. But my wife and i we spend all time in the waiting room and did not see not even one person checked in, not only us there was one another couple from Ireland was in same situation.
Room and cleaning staff, breakfast, distance to attractions Pool not open, front-desk man rather rude
The attitude of the staff, particularly the reception desk. Super location. I have no reason to fault the San Marco hotel and have no difficulty in recommending it. Small complaint. When leaving I booked a taxi thorugh the reception. The (female) taxi driver charged €23 to the airport which I thought was very expensive. The hotel should not use this taxi service again.
Proximity to the beach, also within walking distance of old town. Very clean. Rooms, incl bathroom are small with no tea/coffee making facilities. Restaurant was closed.
mini refrigerator in the room. tv set in the room is very small, with limited programming choices. sat tv should be a must for this class of hotel. also a functional internet corner should be provided.
The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpsome. The breakfast was not much but satisfactury. Otherwise the hotel was rather dull since it closed down for the season the day we left. This may have been the reason. Overall - the hotel was a OK experience. The bugs/mosquitos and the bed. The bed had only thin sheets as cover and we Scandinavians usually do not like this arrangement very much. But for a week it wasOK.
location facing the beach it is really handy also the air-conditioning was good. It was called a two roomed apt but there was no door to seperate the rooms. My daughter was expected to sleep on a couch with springs sticking out. after much complaining they gave us a single bed.which was fine. we got a tiny balcony too small for two people
I liked the whole ambience of the hotel, the staff were very attentive and friendly, the rooms were very comfortable, and I thought the location of the hotel was great as it was right on the beachfront and a nice comfortable walk away from the main shopping and eating area of Alghero. We were upgraded from a Studio to a 1-Bedroom apartment at no extra charge which was a nice bonus. I had no negatives that I can think of about the Hotel.
Nice room - cleanliness Menucard - not a gourmet-restaurant
The stuff was excellent: they were helping out about the possibilities to see around Sardinie. one evening we had a dinner there (you have to reserve this at the day itself) - great food for really cheap price. nice and clean swimmingpool and location, close to Alghero. Family like stay. the dunkeys 10m from the house made the idealic feeling complete. in the appartment were already some food ingredients, so we did not buy everything again.
Clean, well run, nice swimming pool, friendly animals, good food and wine, owners have good local knowledge, useful welcome pack on arrival. It was a bit inconvenient having to wait until 4 o clock to check in,but thats italy for you!
This hotel was in a quiet and relaxing setting. It was very convenient to all that we wanted to do near Alghero. The owners were very nice hosts and well-informed about local activities, beaches, etc.
Lovely countryside location with modern, efficient facilities. Great for self catering families (note there is a hob but no oven but there are BBQ facilities). May be a little too remote for some, but perfect for relaxing. Nice grounds and playground for young children. Owner spoke perfect English and was very pleasant. We were very happy with our stay here and would highly recommend it! Apartment connecting walls were a little thin and we could easily hear neighbors but I think this is common everywhere!
The staff were friendly and obliging, accommodating the late arrival of the plane from England. The rooms were spotless with white towels and bedlinen. The rooms are cool with air conditioning. The continental breakfast is fulsome. The hosts speak perfect English. The room was drab with brown, slightly shabby, bed throws, which do not give a good first impression. I Vigneti is about 9 miles from Alghero, with the last two miles off the beaten track along single track lanes so a good 20 minute journey. The peace of the countryside is broken with dogs barking all night.
friendly staff, nice rooms
Relaxation, food, wine & country air. It is a rural setting so expect to drive daily unless you just want to stroll in the country.
peace and quiet no
Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful grounds and very quiet. Access via single track road that wasn't on our Tom Tom.
the service, the area, everything... a little bit difficult to get there - but this is also part of the magic... it would have been better to know that they serve suppers only during weekends, a frigo-bar would have been helpful...
We thought it was wonderful, a real treat. The food was excellent and staff extremely courteous and helpful. The bedrooms where kept spotless. Ideal for us both. Whether swimming in the sea or pool, or using the free bicyles. Easy to walk into the main part of the town. The only small criticism was the contrast in 'luxury' of the concrete areas where one is able to swim in the sea. Perhaps more could be done to improve this area - it seemed very crude in comparison to the wonderful gardens. Also the indoor pool didn't appear to be available whilst we were there - which wasn't a problem of course as the weather was good.
This is an outstanding hotel, that is secluded and with friendly and helpful staff. The beds were extremely comfortable. At the height of the tourist season, this was like an oasis in a very busy seaside resort and we could relax and enjoy the pool and the sea in peace and comfort. There was a lack of information about facilities (such as a day changing and shower area outside) and brochures for outside activities.....the only very minor quibble!
Great location, five minutes walk to the town. The pools were amazing & the rooms were quiet. Ideal for relaxing.
Location was amazing. It felt secluded perched on its promentory but was very accessible for the old town of Alghero - just a 10 minute stroll to all amenities. The view from the pool and sun terrace was enchanting and we were lucky enough to see dolphins at play in the sunset on our last night (from the hotel terrace). Service and attention to detail was first class and staff could not have been more helpful. The whole place had a feeling of old-fashioned ambience and style. We will be back!
the whole experience was wonderful, the staff were very friendly and the location is idyllic
the hotel setting a beautiful private beach and location
Alles mattress slightly to hard
the staff were very good, the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, the grounds were fab. The bed was extremley hard it would be the only thing that would put me off going back.
Beautiful hotel; perfect location; friendly staff
The hotel was very comfortable, staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Quiet location, excellent beds, jacuzzi. No atmosphere or personal touches, a bit sterile and staff did not seem too happy most of the time.
Very comfortable hotel, with very helpful staff. Great selection of food for breakfast including many varieties of cakes! Good leisure facilities available including tennis, horseriding and nice pool. The location is not great relative to the old town of Alghero, it's about a 10 min drive, so if you're keen on spending most of your time around the vibrant old town, it's maybe not the best choice of hotel - there are definitely better located hotels. That said, if location relative to the old town / coast isn't important to you, it's a really nice place to chill out and get away from everything - as there is nothing within walking distance.
The hotel had been beautifully done up from what seemed an old country house with a great attention to detail.
Situated inland in a very attractive rurual setting, ideal for a relaxing stay just 3 kms from the coast and Alghero. Very friendly and helpful staff and great cooking. No. Hotel suited our requirements admirably.
It was a little bit out of town, so we were able to experience the countryside .... yet near enough to town to get to all the sites
Peace and quiet, very friendly and helpful staff. There was nothing we disliked at the hotel despite web site slightly exaggerating it's qualities,
Clean hotel; friendly people; calm place. Little difficult to find (without GPS).
very personal service, very helpful, quiet hotel, with a great family environment. A modern hotel yet capturing traditional sardinian design, fully recommend
It was clean, and had a nice pool and sunloungers. Extremely quiet so we had no option other than to relax, which was what we had intended. The spa and gym facilities are really nice (spa, jacuzzi, steam room are an added cost), the food was lovely. The website says that there is a restaurant, but actually this only opens if there are enough people staying there and you book a while in advance so in fact on some days we could not eat there. The menu is also very limited and you only get two choices for dinner. The location is very remote - despite only being 3k from the centre of Alghero, there are no buses into the town and you have to get a taxi which was at least 17 euros each way, so everytime you went in it added at least 35 euros to your day. We thought the hotel had a "shuttle" bus but by this they mean they can book you a taxi . With a car, it would have been much easier staying here. Without one made it tricky.
very conveinient, about 15 min walk into town, excellent value for money. not really as you get what you pay for, it is not a 5 star hotel, but for ashort break it is ideal.
Great location, right by the beach, with a lovely walk to the old city. Very nice breakfast selection The heating/AC unit wasn't very effective with heating (off-season visit).
The hotel was clean and comfortable but not luxurious. The staff especially the reception staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. THe room was spacious with a pleasant shower room and balcony which just about had a view of the sea. The seafront was 30 metres away. Breakfasts were plentiful. Sky TV was available but sometimes unpredictable. Poor soundproofing between rooms.
Beautiful, light and airy family room (with flat screen TV/Sky) with some of the friendliest staff we have come across. Hotel isnt pretty from the outside but is seconds from the beach and a 10 minute walk into the old town of Alghero. We would recommend this hotel and hope to stay again soon ourselves. Only small gripe, breakfasts are basic but fine.
friendly staff; location of the hotel
very friendly and extremely helpful staff, with excellent english, right in the centre of town, and across from beach.easy walking distance from old city. the walls in the rooms are very thin!!!so you can hear everything going on in next room.
Friendly and accommodating staff. Wonderful scenery within easy reach.Parking just outside the hotel ideal for my elderly mother. Nothing to do with the hotel but car hire via an internet link to Hertz was unsatisfactory due to the hidden cost of "extra" insurance. The hotel does provide a car hire service (although having payed a huge price I did not enquire as to the cost). People should be warned!
the staff hospitality charge for motorcycle parking
The location was perfect, really close to the beach, few minutes walking to the city center. Silent. Room was really nice and confortable. Clean. TV (loats of chanels), climatisation working well. Everything seems to be renewed in the room. Nice furniture, hairdryer in bathroom. No seaside room, but it is not such a disadvantage, as the other seaside hotels might be really noisy during night (as there is a street between the sea and the hotels close to the sea),
Helpful staff spoke good English, walking distance to the town. Good for short stay.
