Bolita Rainforest Hostel and Cabinas offers accommodation in Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre, 14 km from Puerto Jimenez. The property offers 14 kilometers of hiking trails, adjacent to Corcovado park. Some units have a seating area to relax in after a busy day. Some rooms include views of the mountain or garden. All rooms are equipped with a shared bathroom. There is a shared kitchen at the property. Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including horse riding and hiking.
Pros: Good host, incredible wildlife and well maintained trails. Loved it.
Pros: if you like being in the nature (no lights, no internet, no fridge) and make trails all day long, is the perfect place for you. the dorm have no walls, just a tend and the roof. you actually sleep in the forest. (beautiful) remember there are 30 min hiking to get in ther, and is very humid (bring food)
Cons: beds are a little bit humid, and have to be more clear before you reserve that you actually have to walk 30 minutes to get in there.
Pros: They have amazingly kept trails, that take you through the jungle and river. Staff was really friendly and the jungle immersion felt great. Overall, an incredible experience!
Cons: I know it's supposed to be part of the off-grid experience, but the internet only allowed 5 people to connect at the time, which was a bit frustrating in times of need. Also, some of the mattresses were a bit moldy.
Pros: We rented this comfortable 2-bedroom house in the rainforest for 3 nights. I liked the location: it is secluded (a short walk up a trail past the end of the road), surrounded by rainforest, and beside a small river. I enjoyed walking through the small community of Dos Brazos, having a cold beer on the balcony of a little restaurant overlooking the Rio Tigre, and going for a swim in the river. One can walk many kilometers through the rainforest on your own on the Bolita property. Friendly bats hang from the roof in the house, flying away to feed each evening and returning in the morning. The proprietors, Ron and Val, were very nice and very helpful. They told us about the local sights and walks, and they arranged a taxi to take us to Puerto Jimenez when we left.
Pros: The location is in the heart of the rainforest , quite remote. Some really nice hikes through the jungle , but you have to be quiet and patient if you want to see the wildlife. The owner was a really nice and helpful guy and the other guests was also friendly. There weren't many mosquitos at all near the hostel.
Cons: The walk up to the Hostel was quite tough but it did take the 30 minutes they said.
Pros: The accommodation is amazing, the location is unique and remote. The walk to the house is hard but doable. The accommodation has all the facilities you need and more. The kitchen is fully equipped and the water is drinkable (no need to bring your own water). The hammocks around the house creates a chill area in the middle of the jungle. The information about the hikes is specific and updated. The hikes are available for everyone and with beautiful views. It was an unique experience for us to stay in this accommodation.
Cons: The atmosphere has changed in the last years. The owner of the place is reaching for a small village in the jungle instead of keeping it small and simple. For example there are way too many bathrooms and cabins or dorm beds to keep the atmosphere cosy. The beds in the dorm are saggy and dark without any lights at night. But it's still an unique place in the world.
Pros: Staff very helpful- knows all the local bus drivers/taxis. Set it up so the bus would run an extra route to take a large group of us to Puerto Jimenez. Great trail system.
Cons: Hard to get to/from Dos Brazos by bus. Not the hostel's fault.
Pros: a must do the views from the hiking trails are spectacular. I loved everything about this place I feel it's a must do while staying on this side of the osa peninsula The owners were realy nice people to
Cons: nothing it's an amazing experience
Pros: This is a fantastic hostel. The trail in is a little difficult but only takes half an hour. Ron is a super host and the trails are superb and very easily handled. Waking up to sound of the forest coming alive was a highlight of our trip to CR. This is a one of a kind type of accomodation
Situated in Palo Seco, 15 km from Puerto Jiménez, Finca Kobo features a terrace and views of the mountains. Free WiFi is offered and free private parking is available on site. Some units feature a terrace and/or balcony. There is a private bathroom with a bath or shower in every unit. Bed linen is available.
Pros: The grounds are beautiful. The communal areas are pretty comfortable. Room was good enough. Staff were very helpful and catered for our dietary requirements.
Cons: The windows in our bungalow were warped and so the mosquito nets didn’t do much. The bed would benefit from a net separately.
Pros: The finca is in a very good shape and very Open and nice.
Cons: For us it was too closed up in the forest. Because it is not on a hill you don‘t have any view to see where you are. All you see is forest. Which is fantastic, but we felt to closed.
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Finca Kobo with my family. The Osa is truly a remarkable part of the country and the staying at the Finca was the icing on the cake. As frequent travellers, we appreciated the clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was delicious and the owner of the Finca could not have been more accommodating! A+...we will be back.
Pros: Clean, in the middle of cacao and vanilla garden, you can see wild life because you are in the middle of it. We stayed one night before corcovado trekking and love it. Its basically plantation area and hotel is side business.
Cons: Not enough light, no good food service, no laundry service. I would recommend this room only before Corcovado tour as after tour you will need laundry or more sunlight to dry your stuff. This room is under shadow and does not let your clothes to get dry.
Pros: Nice secluded cabin on beautiful grounds. Very unique place with a wonderful staff to accommodate any need. Great experience viewing wild life from our porch to a super breakfast served. Highly recommend for a comfortable jungle stay.
Pros: It was really a great stay! I think there were only us as guests during 3 days, eco lodges are beautiful, stylish and clean! Alex is very cool and can advice you a lot of things To do in the region! And a soda by Leila which is 10 minutes far from this eco lodge was our best eating during our trip in Costa Rica ! we have also had a discount for visiting a farm with a guide and it was really interesting!
Cons: It is in the forest so you need to be ready that it is a little bit wet
Pros: Being inside the jungle, great dinners and breakfast, the staff.
Pros: Real sympathy of the hosts Very nice place surrounded by trees The chocolate tour organised by the hosts
Pros: Everything! The localization, with a big area of nature around which you can explore, and cacao trees and chocolate production. We saw a lot of monkeys, beautiful butterflies, frogs, and amazing trees and flowers. All the hotel has a very beautiful decoration, the food is amazing and the staff is really friendly making you feel at home! This place is around 1h30 from corcovado national park
With a stay at Crocodile Bay Resort in Puerto Jimenez, you'll be on the waterfront, just a 1-minute walk from Osa Peninsula and 10 minutes by foot from Corcovado National Park Office. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
Located in Puerto Jimenez, Agua Dulce Beach Resort is by the ocean, a 1-minute drive from Osa Peninsula and 11 minutes from Puerto Jimenez Pier. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and laundry facilities.
Pros: Property was clean and all the staff were exceedingly pleasant. Overall great place to just relax and chill out. WiFi reached our pool view room as well which was a plus.
Cons: The drainage in the shower was slow so the water did pool a bit. Coffee available all day would have been a plus as well, it was just at breakfast.
Pros: Agua Dulce is located on an ideal beach, away from the Puerto Jimenez downtown area--about a 15 minute drive. Beach was within a two minute walk from facility. Excellent, small, clean pool. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast included. Prices for lunch and dinner a little high, but certainly beat having to drive into town to eat.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Pros: The local area
Cons: Price Vs service
Pros: The pool.
Cons: No TV
Pros: Breakfast was okay Good communication with staff Great effort on decoration for our honeymoon Nice pool
Cons: Poor Wifi connection Hole on the bedsheets Cracks over walls AC doesn’t work very well Noisy fan Road : 15min of bumpy, rocky and flooded road. Impossible to swim in the beach in front of hotel - too dangerous because of strong current So too expensive for this staying
Pros: Clean. Staff very nice. Amazing location. Right next to the beach. Bar in the pool.
Cons: Food a bit overpriced. Room arrangement weird. We had no fridge nor coffee pot and could only get coffee at 7am (when restaurant opened for breakfast). Also no TV, or AC if you are looking for that sort of amenity. Included (free) breakfast only allowed one cup of coffee.
When you a stay at Lapa Rios Lodge in Puerto Jimenez, you'll be on the waterfront, just steps from Osa Peninsula and Playa Sombrero. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lapa Rios is just paradise on earth. We can't even describe how wonderful our stay at the lodge was. From your arrival to your departure, you don't have to worry about anything, just enjoy the peace and nature at Lapa Rios. The staff is always kind and helps you out with any kind of wish you have. Thank you so much to all of you, you made our stay just magical! We did have a picnic at the beach, which you can't describe as a picnic, more than a private lunch at the beach with your own chairs, freshly made food and great juices. The coffee delivery in the morning was also a highlight for us, I mean, who doesn't like to drink a coffee in your bed and see the sun rise over the ocean. It's just paradise and you don't want to go back to reality after you've stayed at this place. Not only the luxury of this place, but also their way of sustaining nature and trying to keep the lodge as eco friendly as you possibly can is just another point why Lapa Rios Lodge is the best place where you can stay in Costa Rica. There's nothing more to say about this overwhelming place on earth, just go there and see it for yourself.
Pros: Wonderful stay that’s our third time here in lapa Rios and we will come back the wildlife is amazing the staff is excellent and friendly
Cons: Perfect stay
Pros: Thank you sooo much amazing
Pros: This resort is probably one of the coolest and more unique places I will ever stay in my life. The location is just unbelievable. It was an experience that I will never ever forget. Sleeping to the sounds of the rain forest, the outdoor shower, enjoying coffee in our bed wrapped in mosquito net. Just SUPER cool. With that being said this property has SO MUCH potential but they fell short so many times in our short 3 day stay there. For the money that we paid for this resort it should have been a flawless amazing time for two extremely easy going people. Sad to say - the staff/execution of things need some work. If you plan to stay at the Lapa Rios you are going to need a 4x4 rental car or arrange for some kind of pickup/transportation. If you do plan on renting a car I would suggest that you do so only if you are very comfortable driving. You will be driving on very rough terrain, across streams that may be high if they have had rain, across narrow bridges without sides and going up some seriously steep hills. I love driving and found the 30 minute bumpy drive really fun but I can see how some might be miserable. Corcovado National Park hike is a MUST. They offer tours right through the facility but they are insanely inflated. Maybe we weren't the right clientele for the Lapa but just consider your options. The included food menu was really wonderful and if you are a normal person without a lot of dietary restrictions you are going to be living the good life!! The location has its own self guided trails and some beautiful waterfalls that you can walk down to. All in all it was an amazing experience and we have great memories from staying at Lapa.
Cons: Prior to arrival the staff at Lapa reached out to ask about our dietary needs for dining since food was included. We brought to their attention that I was vegan and my husband was vegetarian/gluten free. We expected to have a prepared planned dining experience because of this. We did not. When we arrived at dinner our first night no one had any idea that we had dietary restrictions at all. They were able to create a special menu for us on demand but it made us feel really uncomfortable. The food was great but each night we were limited to one thing. Which - for the money we paid in my option was a waste. I would have went without the food included if that was an option because we basically threw our money away. We lived off chips and guacamole. The first morning I requested coffee and breakfast before a hiking tour. It never showed. I had to leave at 5:45 that morning and never had my morning coffee or anything to eat which made me pretty frustrated. The staff was nice but just clueless and kind of unorganized. Two nights that we were there they never turned off the pool lights. I heard guests complaining about how bright it was and how they couldn't sleep and had to turn them off themselves. We didn't have this issue but it was jut a string of weird things like this that just left us really unamused and annoyed. It is the most expensive hotel I have ever stayed at and to feel like you were totally riped off afterwards was just a very unsettling feeling. The last morning before check out we decided to go on the self guided path to take some photos and enjoy the property one last time. We asked the front desk if my husbands sneakers were okay and how long it might take us. He said it might take 20-30 minutes. He didn't mention that there are two trails and that one of them seems to never end. We got on the long trail thinking it would loop around (no maps or anything were provided) and it did not. We were gone for 2.
Located in Puerto Jimenez, Iguana Lodge & Spa Beach Resort is by the ocean, within a 15-minute drive of Puerto Jimenez Pier and Corcovado National Park Office. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Planning an event in Puerto Jimenez? This hotel has facilities measuring 1600 square feet (149 square meters), including a conference center. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free valet parking is available onsite.
Pros: Room is modern and spacious with all amenities. Grounds are beautiful like a botanical garden. Breakfast is delicious. Coffee is to die for from plantation on property. Beautiful views of lake and surrounding property
Cons: Lithe hard to get to on narrow road
Pros: Fantastic location, great WiFi coverage, great food and drinks
Cons: Noisy rooms over restaurant
Pros: The staff is great. Anything you need will be set up and taken care of. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was very high quality. Make sure you book the meal plan so your dinner is included. Then you sit at a large 20 person communal table where everyone eats together and talks. You have time to meet other guests at dinner which leads to very nice converstion.
Cons: The coffee and tea were very low quality. If you’re a light sleeper you won’t sleep well. Fruit and seeds fall off the trees and sounds like a bomb going off when it hits your roof.
Pros: Located close to P. Jimenez, but still quite remote. The owner and the staff are very friendly and supportive. Good breakfast. Overall a great place to stay!
Cons: Facilities are rather basic and not new (but also not bad!).
Pros: The lodge is located right in the middle of the jungle and yet just a few steps away from the beach. We were given an upgrade to a cabin which was quite nice, very spacious. It was rustic and simple, but very clean and comfortable, and it really provided a feeling of being immersed in the jungle. The pool was lovely and very well framed by trees and the yoga pavilion. The staff was really wonderful.
Cons: The access is rough - a bumpy 4-km dirt road -, but that's to be expected in the Osa, the real issue is that there are absolutely no signs to the lodge neither in Puerto Jiménez nor along the way, the GPS was acting up and I ended up having to call the lodge to get info (FYI: first right after the airport's airstrip, onto the dirt road). I was disappointed by the lack of wildlife in the lodge, we were right in the middle of the jungle but we didn't see or hear many animals (we saw much more in less wild regions of Costa Rica), I think it might have to do with the two big dogs belonging to the lodge's owner, not that they bothered me, they were sweet dogs, but they are very big and may scare away some animals. At night, there isn't any light around the lodge, just some candles, only the two main buildings have light, but the paths between them don't, a torch is recommended. The lodge's restaurant is very pricey and the food isn't that good, there is much better, and cheaper, in Puerto Jiménez.
Pros: - perfect location, prime view - free equipment for playing tennis on the own court, body boards, kayaks... - very friendly staff and naturalist - very nice owner taking care of his guests
Cons: - a bit worn out, needs some maintenance to be as nice as indicated on the pictures
Pros: lots of cool nature birds monkeys etc.
Cons: first night room was not air conditioned. second night moved to different room and it was air con and much nicer
Pros: Everything was perfect, the location is amaizing ! Nature and a lots of birds around, very peaceful place ! The staff is very friendly et helpful ! Tasty breakfast that changes every day !

Pros: Great view! Nice property with free kayaks
Pros: Very friendly staff, nice decor and clean room.
Pros: Friendly staff close to town.
Cons: No TV though advertised
Pros: we booked the Apartment with balcony and kitchen: Kitchen Location free kajaks Nice balcon nice staff clean room
Cons: shower without hot water unclean Pool broken glass on the beach horrible mattress extra charge of 6%!!!! when you wart to pay by credit card Very loud birds at 5 in the morning but thats nature :)
Pros: Central and on the sea. Good for sea swimming which is very dangerous elsewhere on the Corcovado coast. Very close to everything in town. Cafes, restaurants, banks, shops, ferry and airport.
Pros: Great location, very friendly and helpfull staff, use of kayaks and bicycles. The village is tranquillo, national park close, beach and pool all perfect
Offering an outdoor swimming pool, Osa Lodge is located in Puerto Jiménez. Free WiFi access and free private parking are available in this tropical lodge. The pool is surrounded by a garden featuring exotic flowers, plus exotic birds can be seen in the area. Each air-conditioned room here will provide you, bed linen and a terrace. Featuring a shower, private bathroom also comes with free toiletries. You can enjoy garden view from the room. Osa Lodge features a restaurant offering typical Costa Rican dishes for breakfast and dinner, you will also find a garden, barbecue facilities and a snack bar. Other facilities offered at the property include a tour desk, luggage storage and laundry facilities. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including cycling, horse riding and fishing.
Pros: The birds of the Osa Pensisula are awesome! We liked the secure private parking, the efficient air conditioning, the friendly staff, and the memory foam bed, however we will not return here.
Cons: The gardens are overgrown and a bit messy, the pool is tiny and could have been cleaner, but worst of all, there is no hot water. None. Never. And since the pool isn't that great, and the weather is very hot and sticky... Also, when we arrived in Puerto Jimenez, we couldn't find the lodge, and a phone call to their office did not help. No one there spoke enough English to give us directions. It took a lot of hunting with the GPS to discover how to get to the road it's on.
Pros: Position was ok
Cons: Cockroaches in the room, room not done after the night, host complaining and full of mosquitoes.
Pros: The family that runs this place is amazing, so kind and helpful. Breakfast is quite good too.
Cons: The room is dark during the day and also dark during the night (weak light bulb). The room didn't feel very clean and the shower only had lukewarm water. Bathroom had an odd smell.
Pros: It was very clean and quiet at night . Very pretty grounds and a small cooling pool . Great central location for all excursions etc We had the use of a communal kitchen which was like our own as mostly free . Great that we could store fruit and beers in the fridge . Also a water refill at breakfast area .
Cons: We didn’t have any mosquito nets and although we had great AC , the ceiling fans didn’t work . I like these to help with the mosquitos . So I was heavily bitten .
Pros: Use of fridge; pool, yard
Pros: Good host good food great place kick back and relax. Pora vida
Cons: Need safe in the rooms. Need to upgrade lights in the room wasn’t bright enough .
Pros: Staff were friendly, breakfast was great.
Cons: Pool wasn't clean.
Pros: Nice and Quiet.
With a stay at Corcovado Beach Lodge in Puerto Jimenez, you'll be near the airport, just a 1-minute walk from Osa Peninsula and 6 minutes by foot from Puerto Jimenez Pier. Featured amenities include a business center, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great location
Cons: I think the staff could be more helpful and kind
Pros: It is an informal but great place to stay. Our 4 bedded separate chalet had all we needed including air conditioning. We particularly enjoyed the informal breakfasts in the central, covered, open air dining facility. Having looked at a number of different hotels in the area (many more expensive) there was nowhere we preferred more. Well located right on the beach and close to the town and restaurants of Puerto Jimenez. The owner Tomas was a friendly and informative host. Good tarmac road all the way to Puerto Jimenez, unpaved roads beyond. We hope to return.
Pros: Great customer service, unique accommodation, fabulous dinner, great location within walking distance to airport and town centre.
Pros: The location is ideal. It is right on the beach, with pretty grounds, looking out on he gulf. Also, it is out of town and secluded, while still being within easy walking distance of everything, including the airport. (When we left we we just walked our rolly bags down the road to the airport instead of getting a taxi.) I also liked that we had our own cabin with ensuite, and that there are kayaks that guests can use. Finally (and maybe this was just good luck) we had a great look at a toucan and some macaws only about 100 m from our cabin, and there were beautiful big lizards crawling around between the cabins.
Pros: Really nice rooms with a/c and good breakfast. Incredible view on the sea. The hotel is a really beautiful place with lots of flowers and is kept really clean.
Cons: The check in was a bit of a hassle since there was no one at the reception and the reservation I made online didn't exist in their system. We finally reached the owner and luckily there was still rooms available.
Pros: Thomas was very friendly.
Cons: Everything must be paid in cash and was not given a heads up about it.
Pros: Position was nice by the water
Cons: The staff were so unfriendly that we did not feel at ease asking for anything in our limited Spanish .Upon arrival we asked to check in and were met with an eye roll , this was our first interaction and our first day spent in Costa Rica and it didn’t change throughout our stay as we had booked this place pre and post trek .I have travelled around the world for over 40 years and this was the unfriendliest place I’ve ever stayed in! We felt any question we asked was a burden upon them hence we were reluctant to ask for anything
Pros: Location was superb- view from room was directly onto mangroves and ocean. Lovely trees with rich birdlife. Canoes and bikes to use were a real bonus. Car parking while we were on our 3 day Corcovado hike was really useful. Room was a good size and bed was comfy. Owner friendly and fun.
Cons: Music beat on Sat and Sun eve from neighbouring bar- til late (though peaceful on the Monday). Cockroaches. Intermittent staffing, no breakfast option apparent. Communal covered seating area needed a proper clean and had ants. Mosi mesh on one window missing and on another ill-fitting. Glass in windows doesn't cover the window area. Floor fan noisy.
Pros: The location of the bungalows along with the price could not be beat. Ocean front view, howler monkeys, macaws and parrots frequent the area as well as a lagoon behind the bungalows that have a few decent sized crocodiles. The staff was friendly and helpful although some knowledge of at least basic spanish on the guests part would be very helpful.
Cons: There is no hot water in the bungalows (although with high humidity and temperatures cold showers aren't terrible).
With a stay at Danta Corcovado Lodge in Puerto Jimenez, you'll be on the riverwalk, within a 10-minute drive of Corcovado National Park and Osa Peninsula. Featured amenities include a business center, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: This is a must in costa rice if you come for the nature of this beautifull country. We took the 3 tours with heico, bird watching, night walk, and the trip to corcovado natural park, we will remember this place forever. Ah, and the restaurant, this is almost michelin star quality, it seems a high price, but it is worth it.
Pros: The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, always smiling. The food and cocktails offered were the best we had during our stay - compliments to both the chef and the bartenders. The attention to detail in the design of this place is also amazing. Really special experience. We saw lots of squirrel monkeys on the property and toucans.
Cons: The room could be more protected from insects (at the doors) and the fan was not ideal for the 2 beds at night as it didn’t rotate, would have helped to sleep a bit better. But the room itself is amazing and beautiful.
Pros: Very nice place, great food but expensive.
Pros: Wonderful jungle experience - don’t miss the night walk. Uniquely designed rooms and delicious food. We had fresh tuna one night that was the best we have ever had. Animals and birds all around. Just go there!
Pros: Property had miles of trails with excellent opportunities to view monkeys and birds. Lodgings were beautiful and the food was excellent!
Pros: The restaurants, the funky room, location, guided tour.
Pros: Nice cabins in the woods which are scattered around a huge property. Very humid when I visited. No a/c in the cabins. Very tall trees so I didn’t see a lot.
Cons: No activities on offer on the days I visited other then a plantation tour. Walked around the property and Got lost on the trails. Good food but quite pricey both drinks and food.
Pros: The lodge is located in private land with lots of walking trails including a viewing platform. We saw lots of wildlife right outside our door. Fantastic. The staff were wonderful and the food was lovely. The chefs worked hard in the kitchen and produced wonderful healthy meals.
With a stay at Hotel Inn Jimenez in Puerto Jimenez, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Corcovado National Park Office and Puerto Jimenez Pier. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The hostess greeted us and she was very helpful and pleasant- she gave us a brief summary of the town and recommended places to eat. There are no room keys, but rather key codes, so it is easy to get in and out of the property, which includes a pool, a common area, a kitchen and the rooms. It is well situated right in the middle of PuerTo Jimenez- a short walk to most places in town. Also the room itself was comfortable, very clean and air conditioned which was essential because it is consistently about 90 degrees with 90% humidity.
Cons: As I mentioned, it is very hot and humid in Puerto Jimenez and the bathroom wasn’t well ventilated or air conditioned so it was difficult to dry clothes or stay cool, even with the windows open. The room we had was pretty small- but very comfortable and good for the price.
Pros: The property was perfectly located and easy to access the sightseeing and tours nearby. The building felt secure and the grounds were quite beautiful, with plants and birds and outdoor seating. Katya makes coffee for the guests every morning, which was a treat. She also provides a local take on the best food in the area and a personal connection to a tour company for kayaking and Corcovado tours.
Cons: I was surprised that the location was more of a rented room with adjoining bath, rather than a hotel. In reading the reviews, I see that I may have overlooked this, but this was not clearly understood from the listing or the property photos. Our room was clean but quite small, although we were offered to move rooms the second night to a slightly larger space. The adjoining bathroom is not air conditioned and the door between the two is quite loud, making late-night bathroom trips noisy for your partner. The pool was nice but gets little sunlight, so is quite cold all day long. The rules of the home (where to wear/not wear shoes, what was communal space and not, what was provided and not, where to park/move cars so they fit in parking spaces) was complicated to get the hang of, especially after a long day of travel. It could be helpful to have these rules printed for the guest's reference. If parking in their small gated parking space, there was an expectation to provide our rental car keys, to rotate the cars, as guests and the host's family arrive and depart, which was a surprising and uncomfortable ask when we first arrived. There was not a sense of privacy, although the communal-living vibe may be more appealing to others than it was to us. We learned the second day that our room would be "refreshed" daily when Katya made an offer to cut up a pineapple that we had left in our room, which felt surprisingly invasive. Katya set us up with great beach and restaurant recommendations and a local tour company for outings but we misunderstood the instructions and felt a bit admonished over it. Luckily, we were able to sort things out with the company and had a great tour to Corcovado but overall we felt a bit uncomfortable and less up for hanging around the grounds or communal areas of the Inn.
Pros: Very quiet although it is located in the center of Puerto Jiménez. Super comfortable, secure; and it has character!
Pros: Very friendly hosts, excellent location in the middle of the town, clean and modern facilities, awesome dog!
Cons: Our room didn't have a window.
Pros: Perfect location in town close to the bus station. You could watch the exotic birds and butterflies whilst sitting on the porch. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Katya and Terry go out of their way to help in any way they can. Would definitely recommend.
Pros: The large room was immaculate and had a lovely bathroom, with the owner's homemade soap. The pool was very refreshing and the sitting area around the pool is surrounded by all sorts of flowers which attract many beautiful birds.
Cons: No breakfast included
Pros: The host was so nice and friendly. The room was beautiful and so clean! The location was perfect!
Pros: The pool was refreshing. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. We even borrowed a pair of binoculars.
With a stay at Corcovado Wild Hostel in Puerto Jimenez, you'll be near the beach, just a 1-minute walk from Osa Peninsula and 13 minutes by foot from Corcovado National Park Office. Featured amenities include a computer station, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Amazing place! Relaxed atmosphere. Great host & guide. Thank you for a great time :) Space in the room. Fans & plugs by each bed. Great kitchen. Lockers available.
Cons: A second toilet wouldn't hurt
Pros: Shout out to Christian, the owner who also took me and my friend on a day trip to Corcovado National Park. He grew up in the jungle on Pda Peninsula, has so much experience and stories to tell. Super friendly and helpful with everything you need.
Cons: Located a bit outside if town but everything is within walking distance.
Pros: Cleans rooms and facilities... Great host , what else ? Thank you for everything I have really enjoyed my stay here !!! Let stay there before you will go to Corcovado !
Cons: Everything was good
Pros: Friendly staff. Great location to be immersed in the jungle- saw monkeys, birds, insects everywhere. Small trail system, they are creating more.
Cons: Wifi only at reception, which is 10 minute walk from the rooms. Not a big deal.
Pros: The hostel is really nice. Christian is a great host. He's very helpful (helped organizing me my tour to corcovado), flexible (it was no problem to switch one of my nights because i went on a two day tour to corcovado) and he's a nice guy who knows a lot about puerto jimenez and corcovado (he's also a guide there). The kitchen is well equipped and the hostel had everything i needed. Great experience!!
Pros: Good location, simple and as shown as in the photos.
Cons: Some rules a bit odd like "don't go in the bed sweaty from the National Park" and a gate to close the kitchen.
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helps you with all the information you need. Christian showed me a lot of local places I would have never seen on my own, which was really great and I appreciate the time he spent with me. I learned a lot about culture there.
Pros: Property is just a short walk from a supermarket and the town. Beds are comfortable, spacious bathroom and kitchen fully equipped. What makes this hostel so great is the kind soul of its owner Cristhian. I would highly recommend also booking him as your guide. it truly shows that he’s passionate about his work and will do his best to make sure you know everything about activities in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I’ll make sure to come visit soon for more sloth spotting :)
Pros: If you enjoy sleeping under a mosquito net in the middle of the rainforest, this is a place for you to stay! We saw Tucans, Monkeys, Aras and many other wildlife just around our hut. Very friendly staff, very helpful in every aspect. Dinner is cooked from local fresh produce. It may be a little difficult to get there, the las 42 km are gravel with a few small rivers to cross. 4x4 recommended. We will always remember our stay.
Pros: Amazing location, quiet and spacious. Of course, lots of “jungle noise”, but this is part of the charm! All staff were helpful and kind, with a special mention to the Chef for preparing such delicious and creative dishes for us! Evenings at Casa Grande are amazing, with everyone relaxing and eating together. The tents are large and clean. They are open to all sides, so enough circulation and opportunity to spot wildlife. Toilets and showers are simple, but clean and comfortable. The wifi is only at the entrance, so no one is on their phone. The beach was deserted and we didn’t see another person for the few hours we were there. Just don’t go swimming, the currents and tides are crazy. Park Corcovado is a short walk away and the guided tour is worth the money to see more animals and learn something about local wildlife and plants.
Cons: - I wouldn’t recommend for a solo traveler to stay too long though. The vibe is more for couples and families. - It could use a few signs on the paths, as it’s easy to get lost at night.
Pros: We liked the yoga class with Jose at 7 am on the yoga deck with ocean view. The flexibility concerning food was very good. The outside showers with only cold water are exactly what you need with this kind of weather. It is worth the drive out to Carate.
Pros: Such a magical place, unique experience. I would definitely go back. The food was delicious too.
Cons: The only thing that was not clear is that there’s nothing around and the only option you have for food is to eat there which is an extra $25 per dinner and per lunch.
When you stay at La Leona Eco Lodge in Puerto Jimenez, you'll be on the beach, just steps from Corcovado National Park and Osa Peninsula. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: The La Leona staff are amazing, they went above and beyond to accomodate my family. My son had heat exhaustion and they made sure we were able to get him back to town to see a doctor. They are so genuinely kind and thoughtful. La Leona is in a beautiful location that is remote and pristine - I only wish we had more time there.
Cons: We were there in March and it was quite hot, it would make a significant difference to have fans in the cabins.
Pros: Spectacular location. Laid back young staff. Guided hikes were excellent. Safari tent was wonderful.
Cons: The meals are overpriced - they could charge more for the stay and less for the meals and everyone would feel better about it. The trail map to walk in is deceptive - it is much farther than they admit, so you arrive stressed out.
Pros: Excellent place!
Cons: Drinks quite expensive, but you pay for the location.
Pros: Great property and loved the outdoor shower!
Cons: Haha!! Well, being there in Costa Rica during their “summer” it was hot even to sleep. So be ready not to sleep until 1 am and then get up at sunrise at 5:30. But it was worth it! I would do it again.
Pros: If you want something off the beaten path with unparalleled views and isolation than La Leona is for you! Amazing hospitality, friendly service and great food. 10/10 !
Pros: Staying in the tents was fun and a novelty
Cons: The food was ok but very expensive likewise the drinks. We prebooked a night hike for 7.30 pm we were only told it was cancelled when we turned up at 7.30pm.disappointing. The whole experience was expensive and not lworth the effort of getting there
Pros: Location, view, very friendly staff!!
Pros: Ya can’t get closer to the park than this, and that’s the big draw.
Cons: The day hike available into the park is an out and back trail along the shore. If what you want is to go deeper into the jungle, pick a different tour.

Pros: Mark is awesome. Great advice and he tells super stories about his life experiences.
Cons: Could us a few hooks and a bedside table in the room.
Pros: A clean, quiet, comfortable place to stay, at a very reasonable price. My room had A/C. I didn't make use of the communal kitchen, but it appeared to be well-set up for cooking.
Pros: The outdoor private shower was amazing! Also the shared kitchen was the best I've seen, huge and well equipped. And Lica the owners dog is the sweetest. Use of free bikes was a big plus. Pretty close to everything you need in town or at the marina
Cons: Rooms were very small with twin beds (not a fan), and the mattresses were uncomfortable. And it is definitely not beachfront, although it is only about a 5 - 10 min. walk which isn't too bad, just wish it had said that in the write up. Still lots to like though
Pros: Perfect location within walking distance to the airport. The owner gave me great advice on where to see crocodiles :). The room is small but clean and with a well working airco. The shower is the greatest: nice warm water ánd good pressure. Very pleasant before and after visiting Corcovado. They keep your luggage safe during your stay in the Corcovado Ranger station. If you want you can even use a bike for in town. There is a shared fridge to keep your drinks cold.
Cons: The owner has a dog that wants to greet and lick you every time you come in. I'm not very fond of dogs so this was not a pleasure for me.
Pros: Walking distance from airport, relaxed atmosphere, great hospitality, well equipped kitchen for cooking, suits both families and solo travelers , comfortable and clean rooms, great base for going into and coming back from Corcovado Nationalpark as they were able to store lugage. 10 out of 10
Pros: Really comfortable room (looks better in real than on the pictures), good bed, excellent shower, possibilities to cook, good location.
Pros: We had a perfect week. Good atmospherer, nice clean rooms with hot bath, aircondition and good wifi. But most important is the owner Mark. He is very helpfull and patience host. We dont speak spanish, so Mark was key to communication and booking, thanks Mark. Charlotte & Lars
Pros: Across the street, the trees were full of parrots and close by, macaws. The garden is pretty, facilities are well cared for. Right in a neighborhood, close to downtown however.
Cons: Only thing I did not like was our stay was too short!

Pros: Incredibly helpful and kind staff; very comfortable bed!
Cons: Noise air condition.
Pros: Staff was amazing. Right there when needed but also gave us space when needed (after a very long day hike of 20 kms) The breakfast this am was perfect.
Cons: More hot water for a shower
Pros: The owner is an excellent man and he took care of us very well
Pros: The room was super clean and had a lot of space. It had a fridge and a freezer. An AC that worked great. The owner was super friendly and spoke english to an extent. We left really early to go to corcovado and asked for an early breakfast. He said it was not possible to cook that early but he brought us some fresh fruit and that was super nice!!!! So thank you!:-)
Cons: Well the price is just a bit high but you still get enough for what you pay:-) the corner room has poor wifi
Pros: Spacious room and bathroom, more than I needed. Breakfast was made to order and was scrumptious! The staff was very kind and friendly. Me gusta mucho!

Pros: Much closer to the beach than the other lodges in the area
Pros: In the middle of a jungle and next to the beach. Terrific place!!
Pros: Relaxed, easy going, low key resort in the Osa peninsula . Great staff
Cons: Rooms were a little dark
Pros: The location is epic. The food is amazing.
Pros: Wonderful staff. Great location. Small hotel so you’ll get to know other guests from all around the world at communal mealtimes. Lots of wildlife. Short walk to the beach. A yoga studio with views of the beach and jungle is truly magical.
Cons: The road getting in from Puerto Jimenez is pretty awful and you’ll need a 4x4 to ford streams (yes, even in the dry season) but that is the only downside and has nothing to do with the property itself.
Pros: The staff were great and the location amazing
Cons: The entire place is tired and shabby and needs some love. The pool area has so much potential but the furniture was torn, rusty and dirty. The mattress had a big dip making it uncomfortable, the old fans in the room noisy so we didn’t use them. It’s too basic and tired to charge current prices and they should be lowered or the place invested in. It’s more of a surf hostel than a 4 star hotel. We booked for a special occasion which was disappointing.
Pros: This place is a MUST! It's rustic yet luxurious, the food is the best we had in CR, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the wildlife immersion was incredible. It's truly a special experience that words cannot describe.
Cons: While my partner and I loved everything, it may not be the place for someone who doesn't like to be immersed in nature. The rooms are open-air and thus, are susceptible to bugs. We loved feeling so close to the outdoors, but recognize this may not be an upside for everyone.
Il GIardino Beach Rooms is located in Puerto Jiménez. Set on the beachfront, this property has a restaurant, a bar, a terrace and free WiFi. For added convenience, the property can provide towels and bed linen for an extra charge. Both a bicycle rental service and a car rental service are available at the bed and breakfast, while cycling can be enjoyed nearby. The nearest airport is Puerto Jimenez, 1.2 km from Il GIardino Beach Rooms, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service.
Pros: This was affordable, basic accommodation, with a/c and close to other amenities. We stayed here one night and it was safe, comfortable, and clean. It lacks the charm of some beachfront resorts, but is priced well and a short walk from the airport and businesses in town.
Cons: While Booking calls this a "bed and breakfast", no breakfast was available when we stayed - perhaps a misunderstanding. The view is of a mangrove, which when we checked in was at low tide, so it looked just like a muddy mess! I'm sure it would have been better at high tide, but we didn't realize this at the time.
