Very economical. Poor air conditioning.Cramped room
was cheap for its service. Clew was so kind. The sheet was little bit humid.
A well known chain that does what it says on the tin ! No frills, clean and basic accommodation close to major roads and with very good value breakfasts for less the 5 euros.
clean, very cheap and good location nothing
Cheap and conveniently situated hotel Unpleasant smell in the room seemed to be in the bathroom. Air conditioning system leaked on a shelf and damaged personal items overnight and made floor wet in bedroom near bathroom. Shower did not drain and water flooded toilet and sink area and into bedroom.
Beds are so small.
Poor position, tiny room and tiny bathroom (I only weigh 8 stone but if anyone was bigger they would find it difficult to get in and out of the bathroom), bathroom door wouldn't close which meant we had to use the public toilet along the corridor, poor view of a garden shed.
I stayed for three nights. My room was clean and adequate and normal for this type of reservation. Breakfast was adequate and typical for France. Easy access to the hotel from freeway. TV channels excellent incl CNN I requested a non smoking room and was given one. However strong cigarette smoke odours pervaded the access corridor to my room and at times I could smell cig smoke in the room.
Value for money and easy to get to, local amenities eg restaurant, shops close by Not enough pillows
pleasant and easy stop with friendly staff
Very easy to find right by main road junction. Efficient reception, facilities pretty much as expected for a budget priced chain hotel. Plenty of choice for continental breakfast. Room very basic, only one pillow per person and no more available. Probably slightly overpriced compared to similar chains.
Staff excellent and good value for money Nothing
The breakfast was good value; access to the hotel and ease of finding. air con in the room The room was on the small side
Staff and the speed of the internet.
Having to wait until 0800hs for breakfast
Plactic bathroom Cubicle. Very basic reception, bar , dining room and seating area combined.
good area for parking and quiet and lovely painting on the headboard; clean sheets and bathroom, good breakfast. disinterested receptionist, restaurant was closed as it was a Sunday night, although the restaurant had been advertised and it was one of the reasons we booked there.it was a long way out of town and thus we had to get back in the car to go to the town. a dishevilled shabby feel to this hotel, with worn out carpets etc
Hotel rooms were excellent, just renovated, staff also very friendly, and excellent quiet location right next to the lake. Well recommended and very good value for the money.
The lake and setting were lovely. The room smelled of cigar smoke. The food in their restaurant was overpriced and varied from adequate to terrible. As an example of the latter, we would cite the "Menu du Terroir" that was virtually inedible, and a "crème brulée" that tasted like instant pudding. Shame on this hotel for dishonoring the French cuizine!!
The location is nice. The room was terrible with noisy air conditioning unit next to our window and the staff not very helpful. The latter is probably because they did not have enough people - just one person doing pretty much everything, except for the cleaning.
the location was very agreeable, it was conveniently located and quiet. Staff were helpful, and there are not a lot of good hotels to choose from in the Foix area the breakfast buffet was not good value and I am glad I did not choose to pay for it
Comfortable beds and DVD player in the room
Nothing Tiny room, shoddy equipment, suffocating stench in room, air-conditioner did not work--manager refused to look at it or fix it, staff rude and unhelpful
We found the staff to be exceptionally helpful, particulary the young lady who acted as receptionist/maitre dix in the restaurant. We would prefer to have had a proper shower and more space to "put" things
The friendliness of the staff and their attention to detail.
The staff were friendly, the restaurant was fantastic and it was near enough to the town about a 3 minute walk whilst not being right in the middle which I imagine could be a bit disturbing on a market day for instance.
Spacious rooms; free internet access; good restaurant; helpful staff.
It was a good hotel in a lovely town and if we go back to that area of France we would be happy to use the hotel again. Everything was fine.
The hotel room was very spacious and clean. The location was very accessible for the centre of Mirepoix.
The bedroom was relatively spacious and most comfortable with good air conditioning and an excellent bathroom (with a bath and a good shower). Breakfast was simple but good with delicious home-made preserves. Lunch was very good and the set menus represent excellent value for money. The hotel has a sizeable car park and is very near the centre of Mirepoix. Altogether a very good two star hotel. We shall definitely stay again. Nothing
Comfortable bed & room. Good continental breakfast & morning staff excellent.. Very bad management, unable to delegate - for example waitresses helping behind bar had to ask prices.
Spacious, clean room, excellent bathroom, recently renovated. Very professional dining service with lovely food. Disappointing breakfast especially the croissants.
Excellent Meals and a very good choice
great location, at edge of medieval village of Mirepoix. Great value, good restaurant, comfortable and clean room.
Nice little hotel with good location. Easy to park. Spacious room.
Staff v. helpful and obliging. Evening dinners excellent either dining inside or in the wonderful courtyard area. You should sample the cheese board, especially the house cheese. Decorations tired, but rooms totally adequate, and hotel situated in quiet side road of delightful Mirepoix Town. Excellent value for money!
The food was excellent and the hotel had a lot of character stairs only - had to take our two big suitcases up a turning staircase - nolift
value for money and very convenient for centre of town
The family that owns and runs the hotel were always very friendly and helpful. The WiFi internet connection worked very well in our room. Mirepoix is a good centre for touring that area, and the town is pleasant, with a large market on Monday mornings. It rained. Not the fault of the hotel.
Nice new but old-fashioned decor. In the room the beadspread, chair covers, armchair cover, little table cloth and curtains were all of the same material. Madame was very helpful with out enquiries. Reception by Monsieur on the first night was a bit dour. We asked if he could recommend a restaurant (the restaurant in the hotel being closed that evening). He replied "no". In fact we had a great meal on the main square a few doors away.
We chose to stay in La Maison Des Consuls because it is such a stunningly interesting old building in a small town that is full of history. The rooms were comfortable and bathrooms excellent
Interesting old building, well renovated. Upstairs room overlooking the square was hot and lacked air conditioning. There was loud noise from the square until late at night both the nights that we were there. Corridors and stairs did not appear to have been cleaned in some time.
Historic building filled with character, Mirepoix itself is a charming location Twin beds with rather squishy mattresses!
an excellent position in a beautiful historic small town - one buys merely a room - it is not an hotel in the sense of personal service no air conditioning
Mirepoix is a beautiful unspoiled historic town. The hotel is full of character and the themed rooms are just beautiful.
The new owner, Mme Landes, is a natural hostess and excellent cook - she made us feel wonderfully welcome, was attentive to extra needs, and provided very good breakfasts and evening meals, using locally sourced food and wine. Our room had an external terrace which we enjoyed. No. Those booking in future should note that the management changed this season (we had no idea of this from the website) so reviews from previous years may mislead. The new owner offers (as far as we could see) a more sophisticated experience.
very friendly and accomodating owner/chef. She is very good cook, and had a good place to store our bikes.
nice and warm hotel. you feel at home with the family style welcome of the owners. The owner is an excellent chef and dinner was very tasty. no
La Barguillere is an authentic traditional-style French tavern and augerge in the heart of the Pyrenees. The rooms are simple, clean and full of character. The staff is friendly- almost like family. Meals and wines are the best in the valley, probably the region. The kitchen cooks with local, fresh, organic- slow food style. All very enjoyable. Go for the meals if you can't stay for the lodging. The longer I stayed- the more I appreciated La Barguillere. In fact I stayed there twice in one trip.
Friendly proprietor and excellent food. Somewhat noisy by roadside
Brilliant and attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble
Its location and cleanliness There was nobody available in reception when we checked out at 09:00AM
Very convenient for Tour de France 2009. At the base of Col d'Aspin and close to Tourmalet.
quality bed & shower, nice swiming pool, remote area, quiet& peacefull, sunny days but cool at night. andora, pyrenese, toulouse & some beautifull villages within a short distance, 2 hrs max. very clean & fantastic views.well impressed with ladies i spoke to at booking.com,when i had slight problem with initial booking really polite, friendly, helpfull & efficient, nothing was too much trouble for them. difficult to communicate,no one spoke english,& we dont speak french , to be fair the staffs english was better than our french and they did try
good parking and nice place
The signs for the hotel are badly placed, almost non- existent. The hotel might be 3kms from Foix, but, it is 6kms? From centre-ville, which is very important.
Very clean and modern bathroom Small motel type rooms. Could be soundproofed better. Though might be about right for the price
Convenient location, clean rooms, helpful staff, and comfortable beds ensuring a good night's rest. Good for an overnight stay as we were on way to northern France rooms rather small for 3 people, although we managed. Had booked for 3, but when we arrived the 'ancillaries' - towels, cups, coffee, soap etc were only for 2. Rather expensive compared to other hotels we stayed at.
the WIFI the menu was not adapted for vegetarians and there was only one fish dish offered
one night stay, with family, facilities and service rather basic for the price charged, good location to visit city and surrounding smell of smoke, even if non smoking facilities, impossible to find (known problem to staff); but signs cannot be read from main street
I suppose that a Campanile is a Campanile - it is what it is and I did not like it and its lack of services. Lack of lounge or bar. They could (would?) not serve a drink at about 11 o'clock in the evening
The place and the staff
Quiet, pleasant spot quite convenient for Foix (if you have transport). All you need for a short stay. Excellent restaurant to be recommended both for dinner and breakfast. A very pleasant place to stop.
Classic Campanile with all its good qualities
