Pros: I was at Farehau for one night following along travel day. The staff at Farehau picked me up at the airport ( a real bonus) and took me to their home. The house was very comfortable, set high on a hill overlooking the city and water. My room was nice and cool and very clean. In the morning there was breakfast waiting in the kitchen and it was yummy. Their was a huge deck with comfortable chairs.
Cons: The house is in a residential neighborhood that is overrun with roosters. So they were a bit loud but that didn't really bother me...I used earplugs and sandwiched my head between pillows. Being a tropical island I expect there to be many new sounds especially form the resident fauna!

Pros: It was in Tahiti. There was a good restaurant on site
Cons: When we opened the sliding doors, the ceiling tiles bounced with the wind. Our bags weren't brought to our room. We got there before checking time and getting a drink was a challenge as we didn't want to wade up to the bar in the pool in our street clothes. We were only staying there twelve hours between flights

Pros: The facilities were great. The Staff as helpful as could be.
Food was very good.
Proximity to the airport.
Cons: Do not stay here on a Saturday night if you get an outside room anywhere near the restaurant.
Firstly, the room is on a noisy street.
It was Saturday so there was a band that played late into the night.
The restaurant had an outside patio where people partied loudly all night.
We complained twice but nothing happened.
4.30 AM wake up call to catch an early flight left us with no sleep.
$ 190 for a night like that was a disaster.
Pros: Friendly helpful staff greeted us at 7 AM for an early arrival at no extra charge. Mostly French but they understand English. We had a beach view room which was truly a suite including large ling room, small kitchenette bathroom, separate toilet and nice bedroom. The infinity pool is lovely but not much beach.
Cons: All the TV stations are in French. Food prices were extremely high but a nice, clean local place is just across the street and gives you a local flavor for food. The shuttle to town is only $7 pp each way.

Rooms open to a splendid garden or mountain view, or boast a lagoon view
Cons: 3 star hotel, not even close to 5 star which they advertise. Overpriced rooms, food, and drink. Advertise free wifi but you must relogin every 30 minutes. Hotel tried to charge early departure fee when we left early and had already paid in full. The day we were there, hotel had 170 day pass users that used the facilities hotel guests should have had. Someone even took the pads off our pool lounges while we were in the pool. Advertised two restaurants and one was closed for lunch even though that menu said open everyday for lunch and dinner. Just disappointed to pay over $550/night for this when it should have been $200. Lesson learned and won't be back
Pros: The views were nice and there were shops within walking distance.
Cons: The hotel was very outdated and the staff had trouble communicating. Food selection was not very good.

Pros: Very accommodating and helpful. Great place to crash in Papeete for a few nights. Snort walk to everywhere :)
Pros: Very close to downtown Pape'ete and close to the docks. Room simple but clean and nicely functional
DARK hallways, no restaurant, no English channel on the TV (only French)
Pros: The price and proximity to downtown
Cons: The graffiti on the side of the building
Pros: Most staff were great, going the extra mile, rooms are huge and well appointed.
Cons: Night staff not so good. Wi-Fi was out and they refused to look into it. Towels are like sand paper and first room tv didn't work and no tolist paper dispenser. Little things that make it miss its apparent aim of being top notch. Area is a little sketch, fine if you have a car. If not then for women or cautious people I would stay elsewhere.
Pros: comfy bed. the things I needed.
Situated in the business district, this hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Mairie de Pape’ete, Musee de la Perle Robert WAN - The Robert WAN Pearl Museum, and Place Vaiete. Papeete Town Hall and Papeete Market are also within 15 minutes.
Pros: Not a bad choice when you need a Ferry the next day. Location is great but the air conditioning is noisy. The hallways and elevator is horribly HOT! Bed was comfortable but TV is all in French.
Pros: Simple but Friendly. Could use some updating
Cons: Needs updating
Hotel Tiare Tahiti is just 3.4 mi (5.5 km) from the airport and offers a shuttle (available on request). You can unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge, and the restaurant is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat.
Cons: The place was tough to find. No signs and in pitch black. Which is odd because you can see it plain as day in front of you, but you can't find the way in. The driveway wasn't lit and the front porch was covered in dog shit. The rooms are sparse, no blankets and the sheets were dirty. Breakfast was a bit of a joke. Canned fruit and cornflakes.
Pros: I strayed here with my husband and two kids ages 3 and 7. It was clean and up to date. U can walk to and from the airport and the market. It's about $20 can ride into town.
Cons: Clean and up to date
Pros: Very clean, stylish and functional.
The room is of a good size, and the bathroom has a shower curtain.
Had a good view over Moorea.
Wifi was free.
Cons: The cable channels are all in French. There needs to be some English channels.
The path up to the hotel is too steep and the concrete is rough. This needs to be smoothed. There are also a lot of steps to pull your suitcase over.
There is no soap, just shower gel. There needs to be a proper bar of soap.
The aircon tends to blow over the bed so you may need to shut off the aircon in the night.

Nice touches like Select Comfort beds with premium linens are offered up in all rooms, along with LCD TVs and refrigerators.
Pros: Rooms modern, clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.
Ideally situated to walk to center of town with Public Market etc. Also in walking distance to Ferry/Cruise Ship terminals - but not with suitcases due to street construction and heavy traffic
Cons: Mountain view and side rooms are quiet. Rooms facing street have traffic noise all night long....
Pros: Location of hotel in heart of Papette is convenient location. However I did not find the reception staff overly helpful when our Air France departure flight was cancelled on Friday, Sept 25 and did not fly out until Sunday Sept 27 at 3:00 am.
Cons: Location of our room was on main avenue and very noisy. Also the sliding glass door to the balcony would not lock so they delivered a piece of wood to jam in the door frame. Whilst the room was large is was impersonal. the room and the hotel in general was very dark.
Hotel Tahiti Nui is just 4.1 mi (6.6 km) from the airport and offers a shuttle (available on request) for XPF 1700 per person one way. Guests can visit the spa to indulge in massages, body wraps, or body scrubs, and Le Velvet Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's an outdoor pool and a poolside bar, and rooms at this upscale hotel offer sofa beds and plasma TVs.
Cons: mosquito breeding ground, dilapidated, "pool" is a joke, far from anything, no beach, no internet (charge extra - it doesn't work) terrible value for money. Next to hospital, so dreary guests want to talk about their son dying or their cancer diagnosis.
Hotel Royal Tahitien is a great choice for your beach stay in Pirae. The outdoor pool provides a splash of fun, and guests can also take advantage of a spa tub. The restaurant is a great spot for a bite to eat and cold drinks are served at the bar/lounge. A snack bar/deli and a garden are offered, and rooms get the details right with private pools and rainfall showerheads.
