I liked the design of the hotel which was imaginative. The location is good, just off the main highway but quiet. The views were fine. The bed was soft. The cleanliness was so so (garbage not changed).
The food was excellent and the service good. Rooms and bed very comfortable No
felt welcome, good standard, good bed gaood food n/a
The design. Nice breakfast and breaksfast room. Good size rooms, and bathroom. It's location is too far from the city center of Delft, needed to go by bus.
The decor in the rooms was very nice and the food served was lovely
Quit hotel, nice facilities
nice view, great interior design, smart features - hooks on the wall, good use of space
there is no internet access in the rooms, the wifi does not work in the rooms, only in reception. This is rubbish!!!
Excellent design and good service
Clean and value for money
The energetic, enthusiastic staff. They offered their services at the slightest moment they could be of help.
The staff was very helpful offering advice about what to see and how to get there. Public transportation is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. If available, try to book a room with the 17 foot ceiling. Warm water falling from the shower head 17 feet above is almost like taking a shower in a tropical rain storm.
Wonderful staff and room. Great price. Quiet area of town. I could relax and work without noise. Incredibly comfortable bed. The location was a little ways from the main part of town but the metro can have you there in 5 minutes or less. The metro was easy to use.
Hotel look, Staff
Location - it was close to the office (i was on business trip), but also close to the city if you want to dine somewhere nice (>10 min by car). Staff was very friendly. I had a car and parked on the street front of the hotel with no cost. The mini bar is very pricy, so you should bring your own drinks with you if you do not like the tap water.
I appreciate very much the kindness of the hotel 's staff and the hotel generally. The city is probably the last place of Holland to be visited. Not too nice people around the city....
Very nice hotel.
Beautiful hotel very nice even better then the pictures of it
Excellent hotel, with outstandingly friendly and helpful staff. Perhaps the best hotel staff I have come across - and I have travelled a lot over many years.
The bed was clean, and the exterior is nice looking. The place was dirty, the carpets smell and need cleaning or replacement. The breakfast was poorly plained, lacking in any sort of creativity or even thought. The microwave ruined breakfast bread. Another concern was the smell of the place, the room was non-smoking, but it reeked of smoke. The common areas smelled dirty, not just boat like. There is a greasy feel to the place. That said it could be nice with clean carpets, improved ventilation or just opening more windows more often, care to the food preparation for breakfast, and some updating in the decor.
Location of hotel. Carpets a bit worn
This is the cutest hotel in the world. Such an experience to stay here. It's not in the middle of the city, but it is well worth the hike through the beautiful gardens or around the bay. The room was huge, had a spacious shower and a kettle with tea and coffee. The bed and pillows were clean and comfy and the room had a safe. The staff were helpful and lovely and there's an asian supermarket in the building/boat/barge/thing. Breakfast was less than desirable...
The location was interesting. It was a little tired and grubby
absolutely nothing Where do I start? The whole place was absolutely filthy. Our fridge was covered in blue mould. the place has obviously never seen a cleaner, the hotel "rules" states that there is a cleaner everyday - rubbish!!! the carpets were disgusting, the wires were hanging out of the wall, you would be as well sleeping on the warddrobe door as the beds were like a brick. There is a no smoking policy but our warddrobe had cigarette ends in it. Even if you were desperate - please do not ever book into this hotel (actually got a cheek calling it a hotel)!! Don't even start me on the breakfast!!
Air conditioner is working. Dear Sir/Madam, I am sorry writing that hotel is very dirty and towel was in the room not clean too, no internet connection in the room, lift not working, breakfast very poor only you can eat bread and butter other thing very old, only fresh is bread. Location is not bad but for location you can not chose this hotel!!! I chosed because I didn't know how durty.
Close to the park and the centre of Rotterdam. Nice surroundings. Nice Chinese interior and exterior. The interior was worned and gave an impression of dirtieness. Electrical fittings were not fixed.
The relax atmospher, the variety and the good service The lack of English speakers among the staff.
Good Food, good prices in market for seafood, it is a Chinese style place, chinese restaurant,
The food was the only thing good at this hotel... Not a very good hotel. It's dirty and expensive. Lots off extra cost for parking. If you are traveling with a pet then prepare to pay 20 euro a night extra. One time experience for us, not gonna book this hotel again.
We loved the view at the town and the harbour from the 13. etage. The breakfast was good, but expensive. The room was excellent.
The hotel was very good value, the rooms were well kept and the staff were very frienly.
Very loud, no alternative room available, under renovation, no fitness area.
Room was fantastic and room service excellent. Would go again
Views from all areas Swivel chairs in water bar too fast after a few drinks!
Perfect view from the 12th floor. Nice bar, good service. Cool room.
Great location and good connection to public transport Bathroom was rather small
Location. Breakfast good. Style of rooms was not that I excepted. Whole floor carpet was awful, totally different style than other things. Excepted also more from SPA: No private rooms for changing clothes. No bath jacket + shoes at room.
The Staff were the kind I would happily employ and had great temperaments suitable to the `Industry. Good position for Museums and a quick ride to Theaters. Beds too soft and ended up with a backache.Pillows too thin for comfort of neck. Smart tap design in bathroom was difficult to decipher re bath or shower etc until shown and no signage or directions to tell you how to use them. Design upmarket utilitarian and found anywhere. Usual expensive mini bars and snacks.
Swimming pool and sauna/steamroom were excellent, and free internet access very useful. Easy to find and accessible to tram and metro. Breakfast was expensive.
A great location on the Beestenmarkt and just a couple of minutes walk from the main square with the New Church and the Town Hall. I got a room facing away from Beestenmarkt, a square just outside the hotel with a lot of restaurants and the room was very quiet: excellent soundproof windows. The service was great: very friendly staff. The room was kept very clean as well. Nothing for me. My two-night stay was great.
The staff was really, really nice and helpful. My room was nice, clean and comfortable and I slept there very well. also location was exellent. Good breakfast.
the staff and the location + the payment facility at the public parking
Location is excellent. In the heart of Delft
The central location Parking difficulty (in all of Delft). No lift. No air conditioning (that was a surprise)
Friendly hotel, clean and comfortable rooms, nice breakfast and good service. Location is nearby the city-center. Within a few minutes walking you are on the ´Grote Markt´. The square with pubs in front of the hotel may cause some noise in some of the rooms, specially in the summer.
Excellent location in city center near the New church and city hall. 10 minutes by foot connection to the railway station. Shopping street and food stores in 5 minutes walk. Delicious breakfast, very nice staff, clean and warm room.
Excellent expereience accompany with friendly and helpful hotel staff, fresh breakfast is a plus.
In the heart of Delft
The room was clean and comfortable. Price is good. It's not so far from the center of the city and close to old port district which is interesting place BTW. Breakfast was minimalistic
Breakfast very poor. No air conditioning.
Hotel ok for couple days of staying
Neat and Clean room with friendly staff at the hotel. There was enough space in the room.
Small but nicely renovated, clean hotel. Rooms are rather small. Good value for the money.
nice staff and good location the breakfast is poor.
The hotel staffs are very accommodating, they always ask me of anything I need and offer me coffee when I stayed at the lobby.
The cotel is close to public transport and the rooms are nice, clean and quite spacious. Also the Internet connection worked very well.
Old building recently optimized. The stairs, while I think that it is a usual aspect in Holland architecture (usually you have to cliff through them) . On the other hand the hotel has an elevator.
Helpful friendly staff, newly decorated, central location, breakfast included.
Stuff was very kind and you have free coffee, milk and tea available all the day. Heaters were switch off during the night.
Great location, friendly personnel, excellent (and free) wi-fi connection, 15 mins walk from Rotterdam Centraal Station. Was absloutely charmed with the hotel design; it made the room and the lobby look very cozy, The room and the bathroom were really tiny. There was barely enough storage space, and fittings were a bit outdated.
free drinks machine
The animal print covers for the bed, and the 24 hour-all-you-can-drink- coffee machine.
simpaty of the staff. keys door was blocked, make me go dawnster with bags to the information to acitvate the car.
Near Station It was a v small room, sheets were not v clean, window was broken so i was wondering if my belongings were safe
Excellent value for money Good breakfast Building works in progress retiling the floors - noisy at breakfast
I asked for a non-smoking room and first room I was given smelt like a smoking area. Second room had a bathroom that smelt like iron (very strong). When we arrived, we couldn't pay for the room because of a problem on the credit card machine. They phoned our room 1AM to ask me to go downstairs and make the payment!!!!! As I didn't go because we were sleeping, they called again 7AM!!!! And to complete, I couldn't have a bottle of water because the hotel was out of it and there was no place around where I could buy it.
Excellent value. Very convenient location near Central Rotterdam. Very friendly and helpful staff.
I booking four days but I just living two days. I can not call the reception. Heating =cold. I don't want living again
Very enjoyable stay - good facilities and good breakfast. Nothing
beds were OK outdated interior of the hotel, unattractive breakfast table and room in combination with too high price.
The room was great, there was an extensive amount of choices for breakfast, the staff were all friendly and helpful. The online bill on the tv was completely wrong - it showed the city tax per person as 71 euros per night instead of 71 cents, and did the same with the mini-bar drinks - 375. euros instead of 3.75 euros.
The girl, Chrystal, working at the restaurant, bar was very friendly. The food at the restaurant was not wotth the price. Especially the manner how it was served on your plate.
The atmosphere was very relaxed
convenience for my business very old fashioned decor.
The location The gym and pool area has not been updated for a number of years now and is becoming quite dated and shabby. It badly need cooling, as the fans are not adequate.
We enjoyed a wonderful weekend in this hotel, but you definitely need a car to visit the nice beaches e.g. of Schouwen-Duiveland. If you just want to visit Rotterdam the public transport facilities are o.k. The breakfast on Sunday in another room (ballroom) only offered limited options (e.g. no hot chocolate for children, not even on request)
A very comfortable hotel, with excellent and knowledgable staff.
The Leeuwenbrug was the nicest, most comfortable and well thought out hotel in Europe that I've been in over ~50 years of travel. This includes those that have cost several times more (because they were charged to business accounts.) The tourist part of Delft, Oude Delft, is a physically small area. Because of the hotel location, we were able to walk everywhere conveniently. The hotel had been converted from an individual home and appeared to be newly renovated and very well maintained. The room was more comfortable and had more amenities than usual: electric beds with adjustable headboards that would go up and down, easily enabling reading while sitting up in bed; good lighting in every area of the room/bathroom; 19… yes, 19, not a typo… electrical outlets to plug in electronics; an electric kettle with in-room coffee/tea; an abundance of closet space with hangers; a desk with two comfortable chairs that were on wheels… I could go on, but won't. Breakfast, included in the cost of the room, went way beyond a "typical Dutch" one, with different kinds of meat, fish, cheese, eggs, breads and cereals, fresh fruit, juice, little boxes of chocolate sprinkles, warm crèpes with different toppings, good/real coffee and more. Staff, with one exception, were friendly and helpful. Strong suggestion: In retrospect, if I were to go in Amsterdam again… which we did, staying in a rented airbnb apartment for five days… I would instead stay at this hotel and make the fast and easy commute into the city. While the Amsterdam tram system is excellent, the commute time from our apartment (that bordered on Vondel Park) to most places in the city was just slightly less than the ride to Delft and back. The tranquility of Delft vs. the chaos of Amsterdam would be well worth it.
The hotel has a nice atmosphere and is in set in a romantic settings withing the old city of Delft. There is no more staff after 23h00. For check-in, this could be an issue.
excellent service, very friendly staff, room was very nice, price/quality relation is very good.
In fact, the room was even better than that I have ordered (bath and shower instead of shower). Very good hotel. -
The location is perfect, the personal is very friendly and helpful, the room is quite comfortable and the free Internet - very important.
I would gladly stay there again. It was very appealing, efficient, clean and friendly. Nothing, it was great.
Bed excellent quality, portable airco in room nice as I had to keep window shut because of Mosquitos that got in on the first night. Staff good and fluent in many languages, but would like a bit more smiles from some of them.
Not sure how I would gain access after 12.00 on night of arrival if had had travel problems
friendly helpful staff.its proximiyy to railway station and centre of town
Beautiful room with everything we needed. Included a good breakfast. Nothing
The hotel is delightful, location is great and staff is very friendly. Hotel offered us an upgrade to a more spacious apartment. The apartment is decorated tastefully, all equipped for our comfort and has a great view of the canal.
friendly, quiet, excellent beds and a strong commitment to helping others.
The rooms are huge, stylish and very comfortable. The staff is friendly. Bathrobes were a plus. The breakfast was quite average. The basics are there and a long the right lines, but there could have been a bigger selection.
lack of parking. hotel should have a deal with the secure parking under the Erasmusbrug
Architecture and size of rooms was great. Breakfast room was impressive. Quiet and very comfortable night. Would recommend this hotel.
A quiet and spacy place to stay
the modern style, cosy, our room was really full of light (from outside)
It is a very clean hotel with friendly stuff, nice breakfast room and good breakfast with absolutely divine croissants. To much noise through the walls especially in the early morning.
location was perfect for me room was very cold
Location You can stay at this hotel if you do not want following things Reception after 23 hours, no minibar in the room, no iron and iron desk, no ironing service, no bar in the hotel. It does no offer services that supposed to be in four star hotel, I would consider changing this hotel to two or three stars.
Beautiful spacious room and bathroom, extremely friendly staff, comfortable bed (apart form the pillows). Some minor points: pillow too thick, no BBC 1 & 2 on TV, WiFi a little pricy (many hotels these days offer free continuous WiFi which is great for the business traveller), lack of hot-water kettle.
Location and convenience The Marie Celeste atmosphere - no staff available most of the time. Asked to leave room keys, which were then left on the reception desk in an unstaffed hotel with an unlocked front door.
Small room, furniture old.
The hotel is an old building with nice decoration. breakfast was pleasent. Smell of "old", the room was not nice. The water heat in the not modern bathroom was not stable. Also, from the website I did not get the impression that the hotel is located in a village. I though it is more in the country.
Location and food are very good, but the only problem the room was too warm and no air condition No air condition in the room
Very friendly, helpful staff; great breakfast; lovely location; large comfortable rooms; nice pool - had a wonderful stay. Nothing!
The meals served here are the best we have had in a long time. Full credit to the chefs. Nothing to report
Good for a romantinc night out (but was not my case...) Limited choices for the dinner at the restaurant, rooms in need of refurbishment
The staff was very helpful The hotel as a whole is in desparate need of refurbishment. The work is in progress but there is still a lit of work ahead
Downstairs has been improved since last visit (restaurant, bar and pool areas). Breakfast much better. Change of prices when changed dates.
Efficient staff, reception staff very pleasant. Lovly country setting, but easy access. Good budget breakfast. Overall, for the money, I would stay there again. Bedroom ok, but miniscule tv; second room of family suite (Room 104) room a bit cramped with a bunk bed.
Hotel Ara was very a relaxing, enjoyable overnight stay. Staff were excellant and food terrific albeit very expensive for us Brits on holiday. Have to agree with most reviews...very difficult to find. If the maps on booking.com had motorway exit numbers on them we would of had a better chance.
We had the suite: it was huge, plenty of room and aa nice view In most hotels, in the suite, you might expect a mini-bar, and a stereo to play your own music or something like that. Not here: a bed, a bath, a TV, a desk (and an infrared cabin, but who uses that?). Pretty bare for a suite
Well located and well appointed. Restaurant performance was poor. Breakfast was average.
The hotel is clean and the staff very pleasant. n/a
A very calm hotel, the staff was very nice and helpful, finally the food was the best the chef is the best I have tried across 5 countries!!!!
Pleasant surroundings, very helpful staff. First class stay. Wheelchair ramp from car park could do with relaying, but disabled facilities inside hotel first class.
I particularly liked the size and decoration of the room and the hotel in general
The room was very spacious (suite) and the view on the river is great. The hotel could use some decoration, it seems a bit 'cold'.
It is very closed from the city, and in the countryside as well. Very relaxing, clean, and convenient. Nothing to complain.
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Qulity of facilities, food and drink. Location was further from train station than indicated on the map.
New quality furniture, the design of the room is pleasant, with a flat-TV. When the building of the area will be finished it will be quite close to the city center (about 5-7 minutes by foot). The personnel is quite professional. Check-in and check-out is quiet effective and fast. Free parking up to April 2010 (but it's not a parking - it's just an area for parking without any hard deposition). A canal is situated near the hotel with lots of ducks. Tee/.coffee facilities in room (but no sugar and only green tea - nobody checks what is in your basket). No information about the hotel, facilities or area in the room. No mini-bar (which is strange when you have tea/coffee facilities in the room). Back side of the hotel is affected by the buliding works (in the yard now situated a generator which procudes extrem noise), the face of the hotel looks at the buliding of the whole new area of the city, they also make a new road (the hotel will be situated on a big cross). The windows are not sound-proofed at all.
Very good restaurant; nice breakfast; modern & clean rooms; good bed The heating was not working very well - I was freezing
Food is great in this hotel: good, diverse menu with tastefull options & good wine list. Free internet access and comfortable & quiet room. Although not the cheapest hotel in town, definitely a great price/quality ratio!
Nice and clean with great view. Breakfasts could be of better choice
This hotel is within walking distance to the centre. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is nice. Internet connection is free of charge in the room which is very convenient. Apart from the construction work around the hotel, I would highly recommend this hotel.
Convenient location to the centre of Delft, nice rooms, and a very comfortable bed.
Design of room furniture, balcony and view (7th floor), pleasing staff, extensive breakfast Cleaning of room (Saturday) was very superficial
Excellent staff and very well-run hotel. Breakfast was very good. If you are looking for a modern hotel in Delft I would consider this one. It is a new hotel so does not have the ambience of hotels in the old center of Delft. As well it was on the outside of the old city -- however it was only 4-5 blocks to the New Church so getting around was not a problem.
friendly stuff, restaurant extremely hot room in garden wing
Excellent Hotel, friendly efficient staff. Enabled one of the business meeting rooms to be used for bicycle storage. A far better use than for meetings!
Great staff and near Kinderdijk. Goede medewerkers en in de buurt van Kinderdijk.
No air conditioning in the rooms and stiffling hot.
Room clean, good beds, attention to detail. Staff Friendly.
pleasant and flexible staff. connected rooms with regard to the questionnaire: 3d should also have an option "I don't know". And the address when submitting should not read "Amsterdam" but Rotterdam
During the stay we could smell cigarette smoke which was drifting down through the ceiling into the non-smoking room. The double bed consists of two single beds with single bed linen pushed together which is unusual for people who are used to hotel/motel accomodation in the UK or Australia.
Very comfortable hotel, friendly, welcoming staff
Ease of access to my work during my stay in the Netherlands Disappointed to stay in the Garden Wing rather than the main part of the hotel, however, I guess based on the price I paid it was a good deal.
Hotel was quiet, was easily accessable, the rooms were clean.
Free internet. Beer in minibar was out of date. Railway and highway are around the hotel, so sleeping is almost impossible because of too much noise. Windows cannot be opened, only aircondition can bring fresh air. I payed for breakfast twice although I was the only one in the room.
The staff were excllent and nothing was too much for them to do.
friendly, easy atmosphere would like to have been informed about the building alterations. The spiral stair case that has been installed is dangerous to use especially with suitcases.Hope you have enough liability insurance, enjoyed our stay though.
your information was correct in saying the hotel was friendly. the staff were excellent, very friendly and accomodating. And a really good breakfast buffet.
Fantastic Staff No pay TV
The hotel is close to the city and just 8 Euros to the train station. The hotel was very quiet over the weekend and the receptionist was running the whole show, to her credit too! The rooms are very clean and tidy. I have family living nearby and will stay there again when next visiting. Note that there is some building work going on at the hotel at the moment though they really have done well in minimising any noise and disruption.
Walking 20-30 minutes from the down town. It was a good for my health. And a room for exercise is quiet nice. Tea pot was not good. Inside it, it was dirty. I could not use it.
Small hotel with friendly atmosphere. The only negative thing was the surrounding area, which is currently a building site.
The male receptionist was helpful and friendly. The room was pleasant, clean and the fridge was useful. I had booked room only, but, upon arrival at the hotel, the male receptionist had included breakfast for both days. We had a drink in the bar in the evening approx 22:30 hrs. The barman was eager to ensure the bar closed at 23:00hrs.We felt rushed.
The staff we encountered was excellent in all areas of the facility, friendly, helpful and professional minor maintenance in the room was required - broken hair blower hose, poor ventalation in the the bathroom
The big bed, size of room, friendliness of staff, the tram stop right across the street from the hotel. Did not like that we could not use the fridge for our own things, and moving anything inside would incur a charge.
In general the hotel is very old. The room had a weird smell. The worst Hilton ever!!!
It was close to the casino & a nice hotel A little pricey
Friendly staff, nice clean rooms We were given 10th floor room which is not ideal but maybe that was the only one availble.
Location is what we were looking for. Very good hotel with friendly staff. Would go back and also recommend this place
nice hotel lovely bed and pillows, quiet hotel with good service nothing, will definately stay there again
Hotel well positioned near to centre and walking distance to rail station. Good value for money with competant staff. Unfortunately a wedding party was staying at hotel on the Saturday, and were noisily walking the corridors till 3-30am. I'm sure an isolated case though.
The staff are excellent. The rooms are old,... needs major upgrade.
location close to the town centre, beds very comfortable, possibility to smoke in the room the staff was extremely rude especially the night staff, I also found them quite aggressive
Hotel is dated but very clean. The breackfast is delicious No parking space and the public parking is very very expensive.Free parking from 23 to 12 Saturday to Sunday.
The hotel is renovated and up to the latest standards of comfort and luxury. It is quiet and soundproofed. Food is excellent. The only thing to criticize is Internet speed but they do offer a fast paid version if you need that.
It was too far out of town
Breakfast, free parking, clean rooms, quiet location, free wi-fi internet in the rooms, possible to make tee and coffee in the room the room for 3 for actually a double room with an extra bed, it was really too small for three persons, you can hardly move in the room
we used the hotel as a base during a business trip to avoid the city traffic and hotel prices. the staff are very helpful and friendly. the rooms are comfortably but basic. The free wifi is easy to connect and works at a good speed (skype audio and video) quality. the resturant menu could do with a little more choise.
location, staff were helpful beds were poor and rooms did not have much in the way of sound proofing but they did change our room straight away on request
Far from Roterdam
It was reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly.
quite place so cold even in summer
friendly staff; good restaurant rather small room
Very nice food , white fish !! (in the weekend )
