Great bed, value for money, great shower, able to leave luggage
Not a great location at night for women traveling on their own
Close proximity of location to Gare du Nord for Eurostar train to London. Also walking distance to Moulin Rough for dinner and show and close proximity to metro station. Wifi access was very stable and could make Skype, VOIP calls etc. If I gave this hotel a raw ranking it would be about a 4 to 5, ie. not much above a hostel, however overall taking into account the price and location it would be around an 8 and would come back to stay again based on location.
Ok, this was a budget hotel, only 1 star and was relatively cheap for central Paris so my overall expectations was not high. However, some may find the lack of a lift or the shared toilet on each floor an issue. This didn’t bother me as I only had a small bag and generally used toilets at restaurants while out. What was annoying was that there was a reasonably large gap under the room door that let in light and sound from people entering and exiting the rooms at night. The window also did not have a very good curtain that again let in a lot of light while trying to sleep. Don’t bother ordering the 7 euro breakfast, as what was offered was very minimal and you had to wait to gain access to the breakfast area. You are better off buying something from the many bread shops or coffee shops nearby. The bedrooms are very small with no safe, no storage for anything and shower also very small and water temperature not very well regulated. This isn’t the type of place you would take your love of your life for a romantic weekend in Paris or suitable for families or older couples with a lot of luggage. For a solo traveller that can put up with these issues it is ideal. This was my 4th trip to Paris, what I saved in accomodation paid for my dinner and entertainment for the night at moulin Rouge.
The bathroom was clean.
The staff were rude and not helpful at all. The bedroom also quite dirty and the furniture seems very old and not clean.
WC are really narrow.
Location, great bed and clean room
The stairs if you had heavy luggage, there's no lift. No kettle to boil water for a cuppa
