About Paul Gauguin Cruises

Specializing in cruises around the beautiful South Pacific archipelagos of the Society Islands, Cook Islands and Fiji, Paul Gauguin Cruises offers travelers unrivaled elegance in all-inclusive luxury aboard the eponymously named m/s Paul Gauguin. The line is popular with travelers of all ages, from young honeymooning couples to well-traveled 40-somethings set on enjoying life to the full.

Sailing through the beautiful turquoise waters of the South Pacific, Paul Gauguin Cruises call at some of the most remote, tranquil and romantic places on earth. Thanks to its relatively small size, the Gaugin is able to visit ports which are inaccessible to larger ships, meaning cruisers benefit from a more intimate, personal experience. All 10-night cruises depart from Papeete, Tahiti, with a number of cruise options making stops on the islands of Moorea, Huahine Taha and Bora Bora, along with alternative itineraries exploring the Cook Islands, Fiji, Tonga, Marquesas Islands and the Tuamotus - as well as Motu Mahana, the ship’s own private island.

On a typical cruise, passengers get the chance to spend a little time on the island paradise of Tahiti before boarding the m/s Paul Gauguin to explore the rest of the Society Islands. Here they can take in the awe-inspiring beauty of Moorea, offering picture-postcard views in every direction, before making their way to the stunning volcanic island of Bora Bora where they get exclusive access to their own private beach with volleyball, snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding activities.

There is no shortage of possible activities for passengers, with available options including a 4x4 safari to the top of the dormant volcano which offers stunning views of the archipelago. The lagoon surrounding the island is also teeming with rare and exotic sea life, including manta rays, lemon sharks, and endangered sea turtles. Guided snorkeling trips are available in the lagoon, or the sea life can be seen from the comfort of a glass-bottomed boat. Bike tours of the various islands along the route are also available, with beach barbecues arranged on selected islands along the route. Scuba diving sessions for all experience levels can also be arranged while on board, with all instructors having the required PADI certifications.

While on-board, passengers can expect the utmost in care and comfort, with a 217-person crew always ready to serve. The ship has a crew-to-passenger ratio of 1 to 1.5 along with the highest space-to-passenger ratio (58-1) of any cruise ships catering to the North American market. At mealtimes, passengers may choose from a range of dining options including the Michelin-starred Parisian-style restaurant and a French bistro with menus designed by the celebrated chef Jean-Pierre Vigato.

The ship's accommodation is split into nine categories with all staterooms having ocean views and 70% of cabins having their own private balcony. A range of staterooms is available, including porthole cabins which offer 200 sq ft of living space along with ensuite bathrooms which contain a full-size bath and shower. Balcony staterooms add a 37 sq ft veranda, while Veranda Suites offer more space and complimentary Butler Service. There is also a range of luxury suites on board which offer upwards of 500 sq ft of living accommodation along with private balconies and seating areas.

Paul Gauguin operates a single ship which was refitted in 2012 and built specifically to cruise the shallow waters of the South Pacific. With its spacious outdoor decks and pool, travelers are sure to feel relaxed while at sea, and with every cruise operating on an all-inclusive basis, all gratuities, drinks, wines and spirits are all included in the fare, meaning passengers can treat themselves while letting their cares slip away.
