Pros: Great spot near ruins and a nice spot for a walk in the morning before an excellent included breakfast
Cons: Rooster woke us a little early
Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Hard to communicate.
Pros: The location was great, just 2 minutes walk from the entrance of Ingapirca ruins. Nice fireplace during dinner.
Cons: In august, you need a a sweater when having breakfast. The fireplace was not working.
Pros: very close to the ruins, economic price, good dinner
Pros: The lady who owns the place is awesome. She brought us hot water bottles to keep our feet warm. She cooked tasty meals for us at reasonable prices and lit a fire in the dining room fireplace just for us. She and her husband are super nice. The location right across the street from Ingapirca allows you to get there before all the tourists from Cuenca do. A good hot shower on a cold day was nice as well.
Pros: The owners really are thoughtful and nice. They made everything to make us feel confortable. The breakfast was absolutely amazing! The rooms are rustic but there’s heat and the bed are comfy!
Cons: It’s a bit expensive for what it is, compared to other locations in Ecuador.
Pros: Nice location near ruins, heater in the room, restaurant on the spot
Cons: be aware that location on the Booking map isnt accurate, real location isnt in the town but near the ruins
When you stay at Posada Ingapirca in Ingapirca, you'll be 5 minutes by foot from Ingapirca Ruins. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The hotel is located in a beautifully restored old hacienda, set in a garden on a slope overlooking the Ingapirca sun temple. The garden is a paradise with hummingbirds, lama's, sheep, ducks, etc. and beautiful old trees and many flowers. The rooms are very comfortable, with antique furniture and a lot of space. Also outside the room, there is a seating area. The main house with the restaurant and lobby is the actual hacienda building and is a jewel. The staff was very friendly. You can walk from the hotel to the Ingapirca ruins, and start the tour at 9.00 a.m. when everything is still quiet, and check out later. Don't forget the nice small hike from Ingapirca to the Inca baths and Cara del Inca.
Cons: When it is already dark you may miss the entrance to the hacienda as there is no light. It is directly before the large white building.
Pros: Very beautiful historic property, with lovely gardens and views of the Ingapirca Ruins. The bedrooms are gorgeous, with very comfortable beds and hot powerful showers. The food at the restaurant is delicious, and there are even some options for vegetarians (and two vegan options). Most of the staff were nice, and we even got upgraded to a superior room with a fireplace which was amazing.
Cons: Because it is an old building and has no heating, it can be a bit cold unless you are next to a fire (however, it is not cold in bed at night). One or two of the staff weren’t very friendly/welcoming.
Pros: Loved the surrounding gardens with the farm animals and views of the mountains, very kid friendly. Also walking distance from the Ingapircas archeological complex. Good food, comfortable rooms, nice rustic decoration and details.
Cons: I couldn’t find any staff before 8:00 am
Pros: Beautiful location, excellent staff
Cons: A little difficult to find. Sign at the bottom of the hill misleading
Pros: Breakfast was excellent! The 200 year old hotel is very clean and eclectiic. The staff is very attentive and gives amazing service.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Pros: Wonderful place to stay.
Cons: Hated to leave.
Pros: Posada Ingapirca was a beautiful hacienda style hotel right next to the Ingapirca ruins. This place exceeded our expectations and was our most luxurious stay in Ecuador. The hotel is set up on a hill with a beautiful view of the country side and resident llamas, rabbits, ducks, pigs, cows and chickens. Our room, the dining room, game room and every corner of the hotel was curated with cultural and historical artifacts. The food was delicious and the service was incredible. The staff lit a a fire in our fireplace and brought us hot water bottles to keep our beds warm. True luxury!
Cons: It was perfect!
Pros: This hotel is located in one of the most magical parts of a beautiful country. Strolling the roads around it was idyllic, the whole site was picturesque and gave the impression of stepping back in time. The room was lovely, the staff friendly, and the meals in the restaurant were out of this world and vegetarian friendly (not to mention the VIEW from the restaurant which was fantastic). I couldn't have had a more perfect 20 hours in Ingapirca. I only wish I could have stayed longer!
Pros: Posada Ingapirca is located in a very beautiful place very near the ruins. The hotel was beautifully styled and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was big with a beautiful fireplace. The restaurant that is located in the hotel is very nice as well, they serve lovely food and it was very cosy there. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Cons: The water in the shower was quite cold.

Pros: Beautiful accommodations. Tons of privacy.
Pros: Lovely old hacienda, beautiful rooms, lovely views across the Andes, excellent food and service.
Pros: This is an old well kept hacienda with a lot of history. Paul was a great host and did everything to make us feel welcome. He is also an excellent chef. We felt spoiled because he prepared superb meals even though we the only ones there. The location is quiet and perfect for visiting the Inca ruins nearby. Lots of heritage and history. A space heater was provided which made it comfortable in the cloud forest
Cons: We loved it would recommend this gem it is at 10000 feet and occasional clouds roll through.
Pros: The other side of the coin is that if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful stay in a beautiful, bucolic location, La Condesa is the place. It's a restored Hacienda with 2-foot thick walls and beam ceilings. There are lovely gardens, where we hoped to sit and enjoy a pre-dinner drink, but they don't serve alcohol, so if you want a drink BYOB. With advance notice and pre-order of your meal they will supply a choice of typical Ecuadorian dishes for dinner; ours was okay, but the chicken and mashed potatoes were room temperature. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, bread, coffee and juice.
Cons: Without a car, it is difficult to access, and once you are there, you are out in the countryside and unable to easily travel to Canar for dinner or nightlife. No wifi in bedrooms, only in reception area and lounge.
Pros: Wonderful place to rest during a journey along the Panamericana, especially if you just have or are going to visit Ingapirca (15 min by car). The rooms are wonderful and the woodstove guarantees a warm and cosy night with a romantic touch. The host Paul is very kind and helpful. Upon request he cooks you a delicious dinner!
Pros: The shower was good and the building beautiful.
Cons: It was a pretentious hotel with bad food (hard steak, no fruit for breakfast...) and bad organization. We had reserved our dinner days in advance and we had to wait 1h for it to arrive to the table, the waiter kept messing our orders too. They only accept cash and they didn’t have change!! It was really cold at night and they only had 2 electric heaters, when we had booked 6 rooms. It disappointed all of us.

Pros: Really nice facilities and room. Right next to the city's downtown but very silent. The river and its lineal park on the shore are a street away. The clerk even made a pool work for us although it wasn't a pool bussines day.
Located in El Tambo, Hostal Chasky Wasy is within a 15-minute drive of Canar Central Park and Ingapirca Ruins.
Pros: Locarion for visiting el tambo
Cons: Very basic breakfast for the price. Room not made up between two day stay
Pros: Right near the Main Street where the buses leave for Cañar and Ingapirca, but far enough away to be quiet. Somehow I got upgraded to a private double room. Staff were great, they told me how much I should pay etc for the buses and stored my luggage after checkout.
Cons: Strange smell in my room and the bathrooms
Pros: We could leave our luggage at the reception after check-out
Cons: Booked a room with private bathroom and were told to use the bathroom across the hallway (in the end it was our own bath because we were the only guests), old carpet and unpainted/poorly painted wall, way to expensive for what you get
Pros: Warm blankets and we needed them! Close to bus and market. Staff made effort to communicate with Gringos - one had a little English and one used translator app. Breakfast was pretty good.
Cons: Cold room. No hot water - didn’t even consider trying to shower. No toilet seat. Some rooms might have been a little nicer than ours maybe. No information on area - no recommendations on restaurants or areas of interest. We didn’t find a good place to eat dinner. Had Small TV in room that had terrible reception. We used El Tambo as jump off point for Ingapirca but after seeing Ingapirca would have preferred to have tryed a Hostel there. It’s a prettier, nicer, small village area.
Pros: Wifi was good
Cons: It was cold in the room. No heating. The whater was cold :-(
Cons: We had to spend two days in this hostel because of sick (doctor said we csnt travel and have to stay). After stay we were more sick then before. Temperature in the room was max 15C. Whole day in the bed with 4 blancets and a lot of clothes. Between balkony door and wall was 1cm, so wind was more than welcome in the room. Village is an 2950 m, so at night temperarure outside was 6-7C.
Pros: Location was convenient to the sightseeing train and main plaza.
Cons: We booked four rooms but no one was on the premises when we arrived. We had to phone more than once before we were met by an employee for check in. When we returned from sightseeing, we had to ring the bell many times and finally we pounded on the door until we roused an employee at 5 PM.
Pros: The location was fantastic but quiet, the room was spacious, comfortable and clean and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was great also.
Cons: Hot shower was a little erratic.
