Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Le Jaonnet while exploring the Beynac/Sarlat region. We had two rooms for our family and they were both comfortable with air conditioning, spacious and clean. Each morning we had a breakfast of bread, yogurt and jams. and we also took dinner one evening where we were introduced to a wonderful walnut aperitif. Olivier was a great host, he had no problems communicating with us.
Cons: The hotel was a little far from the tourist sites of the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jaonnet. The whole ethos of the place was excellent. We were looked after by Olivier in a manner that you could not ask for more even doing our laundry and giving advice about where to visit and general information about the area. The evening meals were excellent with wine and coffee at a reasonable price. All in all a very good place to visit at reasonable rates.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful and unique bed and breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean! Olivier was so welcoming and does a great job running the place. We woke up a little late and thought we missed breakfast, however Olivier still made us a nice breakfast and let us stay past our check out time even though he was busy. It was wonderful meeting you Olivier and thank you for making us feel welcome! Regards, Abi and Dayo

Pros: Everything. Romantic place with pleasant owner. The house is absolutely stunning. Clean. You can buy drinks on the spote.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good, with Olivier's home made jams and yoghurt. We only regret that we didn't understand that he could also prepare dinner, and therefore went to the local restaurant. We should definitely have stayed at Le Jaonnet instead. The room was nice, modern and had an air conditioner, which kept us cool. Highly recommended.

Pros: The hosts were fantastic Nice surroundings Lovely room The food was divine and plentiful We were given an excellent service I would highly recommend staying here
Cons: Difficult to find
7.1 Good
Pros: The hosts. The breakfast.
Cons: The 3 stars on booking page is misleading You can think it is an hotel but it it is definitely not. This is an attic with a small window on top of the hosts house. Entrance is via the owners home. There is no place to be outside the room but in the garden. The worst thing was the hot temperature in the room, there is no AC and not even a fan. (We stayed in hottest week of August)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast (included with the room) was very generous. We also decided to pay extra for the table d'hote (supper) and it was so good the first night, that we chose that again on the second night: the meal included several courses, all with accompanying beverages, and almost everything was grown or produced right on the property or in the local region. Patricia was even able to make accommodations for my food allergies (dairy and gluten) which was a real treat! The property is beautiful. We were so lucky to have found it!

Cons: Can't think of anything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, and a charming building - hard to imagine anything more French. The booking.com reviews gave us a great idea what to expect, but these don't do it justice. Idyllic location and surroundings, with nature all around you - dogs, cats, chickens, donkeys, and a fantastic vibe of relaxation and happiness. Rooms were great - maybe a little warm for us, but we're Scottish and it was July in France so to be expected. Some road noise as you're right beside the road into the next town, and having the windows open at night to cool the room made this noticeable. The food was fantastic - breakfasts were great, and fun - everyone eats at one long table so you chat away to the other guests, who genuinely became friends over our stay. Take the opportunity to have dinner there too. I guarantee you'll remember it not just because of the very high quality of the food but the company is just fantastic. The hosts, Kurt & Caroline, are wonderful. Friendly, funny, interested and interesting. The fact that the other guests there during our stay have been going there for 20 years speaks volumes. If you're someone who likes to chat with others over breakfast/dinner, you'll love here. It has a really friendly, comfortable vibe from the very start. We were genuinely sorry to leave, even though we were heading to the South of France. Will we be back? Absolutely? Have we already told our friends how amazing this place is? You bet. They're already talking about a block reservation for a number of us to go there for a special celebration. As an added bonus, both Kurt & Caroline ride motorbikes, like we do. A well educated, well travelled, experienced and engaging couple who are perfect hosts.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay - like staying with friends and we will come back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kurt and Caroline were great hosts. The most fun we have had on our vacation. Definitely get dinner there as they are both excellent chefs.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the beautiful gardens, the creek that tinkles through the property, the spacious apartment, comfortable beds, 3 separate bedrooms to give our teenagers their own “floor”, delicious and generous variety of breakfast items, friendly host Corinne and playful “petite” dog, Jazz. Our stay was perfect.
Cons: That we could only stay one night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place neighbouring a nice town with a good situation to see attractions in both Lot and Dordogne. We felt great there.

Pros: Accommodation and gardens wonderful, so many areas to find in the gardens! Breakfast was superb including home baking. Super location, just off the road, walking distance to Le Vigan. Wish we were staying longer!

Pros: We enjoyed their wonderful hospitality & his dishes were amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was outstanding; all prepared by Mark a professional chef, whose photos in their website are exactly in line with reality. We stayed 6 nights and ate dinner there every night. Clare, the hostess did a marvellous job, making sure everything went smoothly. The location is ideal, just outside town, with total peace and quiet. The rooms are tastefully decorated with all necessities included, even a hot water bottle for my wife. We can reccommend a stay there, with no doubts , and obviously we plan to return soon, even though we had to come all the way from our home in Chile.
Cons: Having to leave to return home!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delightful attentive hosts. V. comfortable beds in large attractive rooms with excellent bathrooms. Meals a delight - beautifully presented with delicious and unexpected touches and a good choice of unusual food.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What is there not to like. The best place we have ever stayed in in 11 years of travelling in France. 5* cuisine and the whole ambiance is superb.. This place is a gem. Well done Mark & Clare
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From start to finish this was a wonderful experience. As a regular traveller, I have stayed in many B&B's and this one is by far the best. We had a friendly welcome from Mark and Clare. Our room was fabulous! More like a mini suite. A mini fridge stocked with milk and fresh spring water in thermos bottles to keep it cold was just outside the room and tea and coffee making facilities in the room with a nice choice of teas. Ironing facilities are available in the room as well as a hairdryer, huge plus when travelling light. Gowns and slippers are available which is a lovely, luxurious touch. The shower is spacious and great water pressure, nice and relaxing after a long day travelling. We didn't have dinner there but were told by fellow guests that is was 'to die for'. If breakfast is anything to go by, then yes, it would be. Mark and Clare are perfect hosts!
Cons: Nothing I didn't like, if anything at all it would be to maybe have decaf coffee sachets? Really not important though as I'm sure if I wanted some, they would have provided it for me.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms. Lovely lounge to use. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner - and would return just for the quality of the food.
Cons: Can’t think of anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the best experience ever! Claire and Mark created a miracle place - very comfortable with amazing food in a beautiful peaceful village. They created something better than just a great bed and breakfast experience, I never thought that I can be so happy and enjoy my 5 days stay so much! I am definitely coming back and recommend this place to all my friends
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful decorated b&b. Excellent food. Mark and Clare give you a warm welcome and do everything to pamper their guests.
Cons: N/A
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food and wine at stunningly attractive prices
Cons: Parking, wifi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: france profonde: way off the tourist track but on the chemin st jacques. a superbly restored period house full of character in golden local stone set in tranquil meadows sloping down to deciduous forest. quite beautifully decorated and furnished room. spacious and elegant sitting/dining room with open fire. overall: amazing attention to detail: every possible care has been taken to ensure guests' comfort - for instance large, well-lit bathroom with dressing area, full-length mirror, brilliant shower, robes, etc, etc. but...the high point, added to all this, has to be the food: breakfasts and dinners inventively varied with really imaginative cooking, light in the best sense, every dish visually a work of art with utterly exquisite flavours. to call the metairie a b&b doesn't come close to doing it justice: astonishing value for money. everything was so perfect it seemed almost unreal: we felt utterly spoilt.
Cons: only that we should have stayed for longer and eaten even more dinners in the metairie!

Pros: Our bedroom was of decent size, the bathroom was large. The bedroom could have had another luggage rack, however we pulled in a table from outside to serve the purpose. The breakfast was excellent. Isabelle prepared eggs each morning. Quiet at night, safe, the property is in the country, but easy enough to find. Ring the intercom and they will open the gate.
Cons: Everything was great!

Pros: We have stayed here before and have eaten in the restaurant a number of times. Food is classical French and very well done. Service is impeccable.
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: A splendid family-run hotel with very high standards. To its great credit, it avoids silly modern designs and unnecessary frippery. The menu is excellent, with very high quality food. The wine list is superb. The location is within 150 metres of the very well-preserved medieval to 18thC town centre. Service is fine: personal but unobtrusive.
Cons: Only one thing- the use of plastic undersheets. It spoils a good night's sleep with overheating and sweatiness. The service at dinner was good, but very slow - it took from 7:45 to 11 pm to eat 3 courses, so the rythmn of the meal was quite spoiled. Perhaps some staff were missing that evening?
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner is so friendly and efficient and professional all rolled up into one.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderful Hotel. Monsieur le Patron is so helpful and the dinner was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding traditional French high quality family run hotel with service and Food / wine to match.

Cons: Liked everything
7.9 Good
Pros: Welcoming and helpful friendly
Cons: The main room was a bit old-fashioned and dated.
6.3 Good
Pros: Gourdon is a small town with not a lot of options. I was leading an art group and suggested they stay at this hotel after taking a train from Paris (5.5 hours). This is the closest hotel I noticed to the train station but it is still quite an uphill walk--no taxis. The hotel has a sidewalk cafe where our group had lunch--the meat was tough but the rest of the meal was good and our young server was very kind and friendly--even tried to learn some English as we ordered. Breakfast was continental and had yogurt, bread/toast, jam, tea/coffee. The view from our room was the WWII monument and an open space, so very nice. Room had coffee and tea for making yourself and bottled water. Walking about Gourdon is pleasant and the church at the top of the hill is well worth the short walk and further on upwards is a lovely viewpoint of the valley below. Shopkeepers were very kind and friendly.
Cons: The bed was hard and low. I wrote several times but none of my questions were answered by the hotel in regards to directions, taxi, whatever to arrive from train station to hotel. My husband and I arrived at 10:40pm (July) and it is dark and hard to read signs at that hour. I would heartily suggest arriving during daylight hours.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was well placed for a one night stay in Gordon nice seating area outside the staff were very pleasant the bar was a bit dated but very french which we liked in all very good value for money.
Cons: nothing
